Gold Star Gymnastics is fantastic gym that offers competitive and non-competitive gymnastics, cheer, ninja classes, tumbling, and more. The coaches are supportive and competitive teams do well. I think they have one of the best tumbling teams. Their cheer teams are impressive and different levels - up to level 3. The staff are friendly and professional and knowledgeable. The coaches are patient, encouraging, and experts at motivating kids at every level. The gym is quite full but I believe they are expanding soon. They have a good make-up policy. The facility is clean and well-equipped. Kids love it there. I highly recommend it.

Our daughter has gone to Gold Star now for 2.5 years and we absolutely love it. The staff is kind and really care about the kids. They do an amazing job helping to break down different gymnastics skills and give excellent progressions for each skill. I love the parent participation for the younger kids classes and it's been fun now that my daughter is in higher levels and is showing a true passion for gymnastics. We now also have my 2 year old son in a class and he loves it. Gymnastics is one of the sports that is foundational for so many developmental movements and I can't recommend Gold Star enough for helping kids learn those key skills.

Our daughter attended this gym for a while. The instructors were great and kind, the place is also very nice, but the front desk staff was very unprofessional and rude. They had no understanding of proper customer service. We ultimately had to stop going due to their unexpected unprofessionalism.

Your kid can go for a couple years enjoying the teachers and learning, keep moving forward in levels, looking forward to the next level, and all of a sudden after all that commitment and time, no space is made available which is a big disappointment to the kid, and they just don't seem to care. It seems the owner has no loyalty or commitment to the kids.

The front desk staff is quite impolite. When you ask them a question, they attempt to shoo you away without even a hint of a smile. Their attitude clearly conveys, βDonβt bother us with your questions.β While the kids enjoy this place, there are many other options available where youβll be treated with much more respect. The lady that I spoke to is Crystal.

Great kids gymnastics classes for all ages and ability levels, all the way up through highly competitive teenagers. This business is woman owned, and classes are offered both for boys and girls and mixed classes. Safety is a top concern for the staff, and policies are carefully designed to ensure child safety. I have been visiting several times a week for over 5 years, and the kids are always smiling.

My grand kids go there for their exercise and training. Good program for the kids. The equipment is diversified and suitable for kids of different ages. Safety is never my concern, as among other things, there is always enough attentive staff on site. It's just so much space for kids to play around. Parents can watch the activities without worries.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. The teachers are AMAZING and the place is nice.BUT the staff is tottal s**t they are terrible with make ups and they always want to hustle you out for your money. They charge you a certain amount at the month and if they cancel your class for any reason they never even call or text. And if your child shows up and takes a classs not knowing they canceled or changed they charge you for that class not being your fault cause they tell you with your child already being in class!!!Honestly this is the worst in customer service.

When they were asked about make ups, they said there are 10 make ups that one has to wait to miss before rescheduling. So we waited to miss the class before calling back for a make up. They now say that my daughter can't make it up because the class she missed was her last class for the semester. π Then they said my child needed to be enrolled for the summer to have a make up. So, they want a new enrollment from us? BE AWARE. The staff are not helpful. I was thinking about going back in the fall because the coaches are nice, but I don't know if I want to deal with the front desk staff when it is time to enroll her. They are just rude. If I do, it's because of the coaches. If I don't, it's because of the front desk.

Edit: the owner reached out to me directly and I was unaware of the policy changes. She offered to help me in a number of ways to help my daughter get her make.up classes. I was beyond impressed with her reaching out to me and what she offered. Great customer service. Thank you Gold Star.
My daughter loves Gold Star. But apparently they changed their policy on makeup classes last summer. Previously any missed classes during the school year could be applied to the summer session, which was very convenient. Now you have 30 days to reschedule a makeup class, but if we already have class once a week when are we supposed to do the makeup. Definitely a financial decision on their part, which isn't sitting well with me at the moment. I don't remember being notified about the policy change when it went into effect.

Facility is really nice. Older kids likely benefit more here, and tumbling exercises look so awesome (in the background).
This gym was not a good fit for my 4 YO daughter. It was too chaotic and not engaging for her.

My daughter has been going to the mini star class for 9 months now and wanted to share my feedback with other parents who may be interested.
First, its a fantastic facility with great equipment and plenty of space for children to practice. They have designed a good curriculum for kids to progress through and develop their skills and strength.
But here's my reason for the three stars and why I pulled her out. The 6 students per coach ratio is absolutely untenable for the coaches (who are just the older students of the facility) to focus on all the kids. As a result I have seen negligible development over 9 months. They are just going through the motions and my repeated flags to the supervisors and front staff went unheard
Some of the coaches weren't even able to focus on the safety of the students because of the ratio.

Tldr: Good Management, good Makeup class policy. Teachers care to engage and teach.
My 4 year old is taking classes here. I have seen 5 teachers during assigned slot and make up slots and trial class. They go through same circuit in every class every time, but all of them have different style of engaging with kids.
My kid is slightly less active , does only simple stuff in typical kids playing area, so we thought of getting some gymnastic training for him. We are seeing results. In my experience with other classes like Soccer and Swimming, I can see that kids will improve only slowly and incrementally, so don't expect magical improvement at this age.
My kid's first assigned teacher was not good, talked to the management about it via email. They heard me the next day over phone and followed up with me in next class. End result was very satisfactory. I did not see any problem with other (4 of 5) teachers, so I guess bad experience was uncommon and it was resolved timely and professionally.

Would give this place 10 stars if that was an option. The most kid friendly gymnastics place in the South Bay. My daughter has been going for almost a year and returned after the pandemic. The coaches are super friendly and fantastic, thhr staff incredibly professional with scheduling and registration. My daughter lives gymnastics because of this place. Highly recommend.

How often are the mats and equipment cleaned here? Just wondering since the smell of feet is so very strong!!! It concerns me with the large amount of people coming here and overall hygiene. Would like if the gym perhaps answered or posted this up somewhere.

There new location is fantastic. You can see the entire floor from any spot now. It doesn't smell too much like feet at the moment.
They quickly filled up all the additional space and looks like they could even use more space.
All the great teachers and staff are here and my daughter looks forward to coming every week.
I wish they had a better waiting area. The cattle rush when classes are starting and ending is like a surging sea of adults bobbing on a wave of kids and toddlers.
They need to get a bigger place.
WiFi is strong and pretty fast to do work while waiting for class to end and there is a lone table that i can work from. Little win.

Teacher Michelle makes every week wonderful! My son cannot wait to go to class. We so appreciate how much she genuinely enjoys being with the kids and her respectful approach toward them.
The new location is gorgeous, with plentiful parking. The only thing we miss is that the climbing ladder is no longer available for toddler use.

BANNED - We visited the gym yesterday so that my daughter could say hello to her old teammates and I was told that our family had been banned from the gym due to the negative reviews we posted. We were told to leave immediately and that we were not welcome back.
Both of our daughters were on teams at Gold Star for a number of years. One was on a cheer team for two years and one was on the artistic team for 3 years. We had an incident the cheer program where we felt it best to remove both kids from gym.

I like it a lot, and I think itβs a serious institution. But I have two points that might be worth to consider.... some classes seems too crowded, which in my opinion might affect in part what the student gets from the class.
The other thing is that some classes have a too wide age group in them. For example 6 and 7 year old kids mixed with kids who look more like 10 or 11, especially how tall the older kids are in comparison with the younger ones.
I understand there are some waiting lists for certain classes, that makes me wonder if certain arrangements can be made in order to have kids closer in age per class.

This place is AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME.
I take adult classes here (I've wanted to take gymnastics since I was a teenager). I started as a complete beginner, but there are people of all ranges of ability in the class. The staff is extremely friendly, and will work with you personally to train the skills you want to learn. You can pay on a per-class basis or buy a bundle of classes; either way you're not locked into coming to classes each week. You can also try out the class once for free.
