EOS FITNESS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Went with 2 of my friends to do the week pass before we decide to cancel our Crunch memberships and switch over. The young guy at the counter kept pushing and pushing us to sign up paid even though we explained we need to cancel another membership first. Then he denied our week pass at Eos because we were golds members 15 years ago. He also denied entry to one of my friends with the OnePass paid for by his insurance. Kept insisting we sign up for $21 a month. Then turned us away. Just don't go here. He's insisting we pay a $30 day pass. He also was forcing the OnePass member to pay an additional $21 a month to go in. We didn't even get to look around. They wouldn't give the week trial. "Put a dollar down today and $21 a month". We left and went to planet fitness. No hassle there.

Great facility, the staff are very welcoming, however with the new changes of equipment there are fewer stations for the more popular exercises which makes for a difficult flowing training session. So picking a time to work out is critical.

Cool gym with lots of weightlifting equipment, it’s not a super big gym but when I was there, it wasn’t overly packed either. They also have some aerobic machines everything you need to get a pretty good workout.

Not too overcrowded. No long waits to use machines. Machines are new and well kept, also very clean. The bathroom/locker room was also pretty tidy! The stair master has lots apps so you can log into a streaming platform like Netflix, FB, or play Solitaire! Super cool. I look forward to going back!

Change your schedule. The gym closes at 10 p.m. during the week, but other gyms open until 11 p.m. or 12 a.m. , I work out late because of my work schedule, and it doesn’t make any sense to go after 9pm, that’s why I stopped going to this gym

Admittedly, I got membership at another gym because this location had fallen into a bit of disrepair—however, the renovations are fantastic and it’s been so much more enjoyable! Probably the most run down gym I have ever seen. Make sure you are caught up on your tetanus shots before you enter. Machines are old and nasty. Locker room is in shambles. Looks like it hasn't been cleaned or maintained for a long time

Also, unlike the add for the trial says, they make it a pain to cancel their "no risk free trial". Had to have my bank reverse the charge because they make it more difficult than it should be. Update: After multiple attempts they keep trying to run the charge. Don't fall for their trial.

First things first. The owners Banos brothers need to fix the banos aka the bathrooms first. This ain't no Mexico gym. You get memberships paid in dollars not pesos. So show some quality there, greedy owners!!
The gym they started with and got rich off of 4 decades ago looks like still in 1970s. They definitely drowning the good old brand of Gold's gym faster than a rock in ocean. The managers and staff are half trained in courtesy and manners. Both front desk staff and janitors are regularly fired and replaced. Clearly the regional or district manager has to be at fault . If they can't keep their own staff there, what hope one has for members.
This specific location is small gym with zero ventilation and also where private trainers roam like eagles. If you see someone recording you for helping your friends in gym, that's a scared trainer thinking you're after their gig. FYI none of them trainers are in shape, all covered in hoodies and slacking off on benches while the client is working hard and paying too much for lazy trainers.

Now onto the real meat and potatoes - the equipment, which is why you join a gym.
Dilapidated, broken welded 20 times over equipment.
The equipment is old and welded together many times over. Benches and seats are falling apart and some machines are barely working and seriously a safety hazard. Everyday something is broken. They have old school machines which is a good thing but some areas are too cramped,you can barely walk without hitting your foot few times .The whole gym has one towel dispenser and that too is mostly broken. The 2 odd urinals in men's locker beg for privacy. The people who own this gym are saving money on everything . And yes they own a lot of gyms in SoCal, so they are making a lot of money 💰💰. Yet the quality of gym is mehh😔👎.

I’ve worked out At Gold’s Gym in North Hollywood since 1997. Except for the Covid policies of making people wear masks while working out, I love the gym. Community, serious training and good equipment. The homeless camps in the park outside are a sad sight as are seeing so many businesses disappear over the years but miraculously Gold’s is still standing and I am still lifting.

Tiny filthy broke gym where staff walk around like they own the gym. Poor sanitation and broken gym equipment. A man got badly hurt on their inclined bench machine working in front of me. EMTs came and noticed the dilapidated bench and broken seat. They got no safety clamps either. The plastic of most cables on machine is gone and the center assembly is leaning like Leaning Tower of Pisa. There is a old guy who hangs around in the gym to get plastic bottles. Not a staff member. He has started announcing the gym closures as his unsolicited act of services. The homeless encampment outside is beginning to encroach right next to the gym. They need security at the door. Finally their cameras as told to me by an old timer, dont work. Both inside and outside. So watch yourself inside the gym and outside. Some cars have been broken into in the parking lot. They got new staff in gym , getting hired and fired every few months. That speaks for the poor management style. Cant keep employees happy, just like the rest of the gym, they look broken too.

I called here yesterday to get information on trying the gym out before I joined. I was connected to a representative that was very salesy. He was so concerned about getting a sale he was purposely trying to avoid my questions about a deal I saw on Groupon. I told him I had to think about it and call back- he insisted on Him calling me, which made me uncomfortable- when I stated no, I’ll call back when I’m ready, he got sassy and said “you do you” and hung up. I still am had questions but decided to just go with LA fitness instead. I was a personal trainer for 15 years and I’ve worked in the gym and had my own personal training business, I’m very familiar with how the sales process works but when the team just wants a sale, all compassion goes out the window. Could be a sign of bad leadership or this sales person low emotional intelligence- either way, I like to go where the customer support is A1. Had he been a better listener with better people skills I would have definitely got a year membership after the Groupon Trial, instead I went to a competitor, Because it wasn’t about the price it was about the experience

The equipment from this gym is pretty old, and barebones.

The norm for most gyms is to have a couple fly machines, where one can configure to both chest and rear delt flies. This place only has one fly machine, and it can only configure to chest flies.

When using dumbbells, you’ll get an abnormally unpleasant rust smell coming off your hands afterward thats like normal barbell smells but a little bit worse.

A lot of the numbers on the dumbbells are simply scratched off from years of use, looks like they haven’t been updated in decades, so sometimes you just aren’t able to tell what weight you’re picking up unless you count the individual plates on the dumbbell.

This gym is very close to where I live so it’s extremely convenient… but believe it or not I go to the Glendale one anyways because it has more equipment variety. I jokingly call this the “prison gym” to my friends compared to all the other ones I’ve been to but if the barebones style and look is what you’re okay with then this is a gym for you.

Staff is very friendly and courteous, will tend to your needs greet you everytime. The demographic of the gym on weekday nights are also generally pleasent people who aren’t annoying, overly flamboyant or equipment hoggers.

While my time there I payed attention to the operation of how this location is run,
Alexander Boagni (front desk manager) Meets and exceeds golds gym core values, along with his staff. I’m attracted to the healthy atmosphere they pay close attention too for us patrons, setting up for success the following day. I really enjoyed this gym. It takes you back to the days of the classic old school gyms from the 70s/80s. The type of weights here are made of iron and equipment is older but well maintained. The entire aesthetic of the gym feels so vintage, so management please keep this vintage aesthetic, don’t update it, it feels like a relic of the past but in a good way. I’m trying to cancel this membership I had from a while back. Honestly the personal training here was terrible, the trainer did not start with safe weights and I ended up injuring myself on my 3rd session and my shoulder has never been the same since. I called to cancel and was told I couldn’t do it over the phone I had to go in. I drove 30 minutes to get here to be told I can’t cancel in person and to call a number that then told me again I can’t cancel over the phone, I now have to go to website to cancel, but I need info from the phone call. I’ve never gone to any other gym that makes it this hard to cancel or has been so reckless with people health. The gym in tiny the trainers seemed like they didn’t know what they are doing and I’m completely over this place. Just go to planet fitness at least there you know exactly what your getting for the price.

Rusty and old equipments, treadmills not working, men's bathroom was disgusting and smells like wet soggy corn chips, strong foul body odor, and urine. No air freshener through the ventilation system, hot and dingy. Luckily there was a lady who smelled really nice so I worked out next to her. Flat screen TV looked dated. That classic look is nonsense and an excuse for subpar customer experience. With $100 u can get some clorox bleach, fabulouso, a mop, a bucket, paper towels, and gloves and have employees alternate cleaning the bathroom every 2 hours. I felt like I was in a seespool of germs...the one star is for the staffs who are working in these horrible conditions and have to make excuses for management...smh...bad leadership. I could run the gym better than the current management. GYM 101: Keep gym clean and smelling good at all times! Will visit again but only because I am a Golds Gym member DTLA and sometimes I work in the valley. I understand under staff due to Covid-19 but no way an excuse for a dirty unhealthy gym.

It's classic gym.
The members who are working out here are very serious lol.
The equipments are little old but no problem to use.
For me, I need more machines than bars.
It's affordable though.

I have been a loyal member for years but the owners (a master franchise) won't invest any money in basic upgrades. They call it the retro look. For example, a number of the TV screens on their cardio machines simply don't work. Others have an obscure channel about farming (this is L.A. not Iowa). Basic machinery from the 80's,etc.

From the beginning, they have repeatedly continued to take or attempt to take more payment from me than what I owe. When I joined, I was double charged about 2-3 times in the first few months. Later when I cancelled my membership, they continued taking my money, saying that I didn't cancel correctly. I did it how they told me, and I thought everything was fine. The pandemic happened and they stopped payment for everyone, but when they opened back up, I started getting automated calls saying that I need to update my payment method. I called, and they told me I cancelled wrong, again. I followed their steps to cancel, and stopped getting calls. But a few month's later, I am ONCE AGAIN getting calls about updating my payment, and I bet they'll blame me for doing it wrong again. I've never had to jump through so many hoops to cancel with anyone else. And I am only glad I changed my card because this means they would have just been taking money from me where I may not even realize it for a month or 3... Something needs to be done about their attempted THEFT.

The equipment and atmosphere make you feel like you are training for competitions. The adrenaline rush is great. Incredible staff.

My only suggestion is for the gym to be much more strict on the people that do not put their weights away. Really makes the gym floor look like a mess.

I NEEDED an old-school, iron-filled gym to unleash my inner Schwarzenegger. I couldn't get that with 24 Hour Fitness, where everything is a cushy machine. No, if you want real iron, and real weights, and an environment that helps you push yourself, Gold's is the way to go.
