Mekka...miejsce tworzenia się charakterów. Miejsce w którym rodzili się i rozwijali wielcy Arnold, Franco itd. wielka powierzchnia - pierwsza sala z ławkami i maszynami,druga z ławkami i cardio. Che dire della Gold's di Venice. Ero di passaggio a LA e prima di tornare in Italia ho voluto fare un salto e allenarmi alla "Mecca". Palestra enorme. Dai video online non si riesce a capire. Quando pensi di aver visto tutto spunta fuori un altra sala o un altro attrezzo. Provarli tutti è impossibile, almeno su due WO di 1.3ore. Prezzo per ingresso di 24 ore - 50$. Sono tanti? Si! Ne vale la pena? Certo! Mi sono allenato alle ore 5.30 del mattino e c'era già molta gente. Ovviamente se siete appassionati e in viaggio a LA vale sicuramente la spesa. Fantastico che verso le 6 hanno alzato le serrande ed è entrato il sole e l'aria fresca dell'oceano. Un plus non di poco conto.

Étant des fans de musculation c’était un passage obligatoire à Los Angeles.
Par contre payer 50 dollars par personne pour une séance d’essai c’est un non.
Nous aurions adoré voir Arnold mais il n’y était pas ce jour là.
Déçue que le prix de la séance d’essai ne soit pas plus abordable, déçue également des vêtements vendus sur place qui ne sont pas terrible.
Nous pensions qu’il y aurait des offres de boissons proteinées à consommer sur place mais pas du tout.

Gold's Gym in Venice really is as good as it gets. Each time I use this gym, I feel like I've gone back to the days of puffy workout pants and fanny packs circa 1995. It's the Cheers of the fitness world, where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came. Where you may think it still is 1995, 1985 or 1975, and Arnold, Charles Glass, O'Hearn, Valente and the rest of the guys are there pumping up....because you'll still see them there doing just that.

But for the sake of writing a helpful review, I'll say these things. If you want a nice upscale gym. This isn't it.

If you want a sauna, steambath, spa, pool, and a nice locker room where you can relax, or if you want racquetball and basketball, go somewhere else.

If you want upscale equipment that is all lubed up and on hi-tech pully-systems. Find another fitness location.

You want If you want a super large facility where all of your family can go, you can drop your kids off in the childcare, let your teens go play basketball and then go shop and have lunch in the nearby mall and shops afterwards? This is not your choice of gym.

If you want towel service, air conditioning, or even nice clean facilities, this is not your place to go. All that being said, you'd think that I'd give this place one star and tell you not to go there. Absolutely not. I'm telling you, this is the place to go if you want, just as Gold's slogan says, "Serious Fitness."

This place has old equipment. Some of it rusty. Some of it probably was used by Don Howorth when he was training and won Mr. America in 1967. But its the equipment that the serious enthusiasts have trained with, loved, and found to be the best equipment out there...that's why they've kept it. To a casual gym goer, the equipment here is weathered by the ocean air, is sweat stained and possibly pungent and out of date. But to the true fitness enthusiast, those same machines may have been the favorites of Ferrigno or Franco when training for the Olympia.

I loathe going to new age gyms and finding that they carry no lower ab, neck, trap or other potentially dangerous machines because insurance claims have found that folks get hurt on them. There is very little use for good ole' dead lifts, wrapping your knees up and squatting in a rack because now-a-days you have smith machines to help glide you down. No one uses a real bench press where you may actually drop the thing on your chest because you can go slide a pin into a rack and sit down and press a lubed up machine back and forth and say you did about the same thing. Well, guess what? At Gold's in Venice you can do all of the aforementioned! They still have shrug machines, neck machines, lower ab machines, tons of old fashioned squat racks and dead lift platforms....and a few Smith Machines and pin in a rack machines too. But if you want a place that is all upscale new age hipster workout equipment that you can't possibly get hurt on? Got news for you....

Not here.

Here you're going to push rusty dumbells and find the largest ones you can find anywhere. Most places, if you're lucky, have them up to 120's. Gold's carries them up over 200. They even have Gold ones which reach 330lbs apiece.

Again, as I understand, for the 99% of the population that will never throw around 200 lbs in each hand, let alone the 330's or the 120's, you have all the other gyms in the world to go to. If you are in that 1% this is where you go workout. There's a reason that celebrities getting ready for roles and fitness enthusiasts from all over the world come here, sometimes even moving to the area, just to work out here. And if you like those gyms where there is no intimidation allowed? Well, this isnt it. There are big bodybuilders, fit models and many shirtless or scantily clothed bodies showing off their hard work. No where else will you find a gym with its own posing room, for bodybuilders getting ready for shows.

It may be old, stinky, and even kind of operated like a Ma and Pa store, but its the world's most famous gym, and for good reason. Its the Mecca of Bodybuilding.

The Mecca!!!! This place is huge!! $50/per person for a drop-in, but its good for 24 hours. Pretty busy, but didn't have to wait for much equipment (10am). It would have gotten 5 stars but PEOPLE DONT PUT THE WEIGHTS BACK!!! Huge pet peeve of mine. There were 2 women cleaning employees trying to keep the place tidy and clean, but no other staff to make sure equipment was put back where it goes (dumbbells, all free weights).

Great gym, I’ve been a member for years. The gym itself is a large space, plenty of squat racks and benches. Lots of free weights and machines. Well maintained, there’s always someone walking around cleaning the gym and maintaining machines. I froze my membership and came in person to reactivate. Vince helped me, he was very friendly, very efficient and did what I needed very quickly. When I came back later that day he said hello and welcomed me back by my name. Great customer service!

The staff here needs to do better!
1) the parking lot is filled with cars without stickers and people coming here dressed in work outfits clearly just parking here because they know it’s not monitored.
2) dogs everywhere that clearly are not service dogs. Come on, why is the gym full of pugs, huskies, Germans and poodles?
3) the bathrooms are not clean
4) the staff does not care about women’s safety. There’s been many times I have seen men walking around hitting on multiple people at a time, making them very uncomfortable, and it is the non existent staff that makes them feel that it’s okay.
5) people do not wipe down their machines, and the machines are not cleaned by staff enough.
6) why are people always leaving their personal belongings everywhere, and never rerack their weights?

Overall, it’s clear that the staff is virtually non existent outside of chatting amongst each other at the reception desk. It’s clear there is zero oversight here and the staff needs to do better (or management needs to tell staff to do better and actually take care of this gym and its members).

Fair warning that if you have a Gold's Gym membership (even the top tier one that's supposed to be for all socal locations) it only works at this gym as a travel pass with no other membership perks like guest access available. Guest passes are $50. Doesn't really make sense since it's a Gold's SoCal location and Gold's doesn't say that anywhere on their site or for sign up. Membership for this gym alone is 120, even though it has less amenities than other gold's....

As someone who has done competitive bodybuilding, and has trained at multiple golds gyms, Northridge, and Pasadena, I really enjoyed my travel pass experience here.

There are a ton of unique machines, which really allow you to target your muscles to recruit as much growth as possible.

A lot of people I found to be quite warm and inviting.

I will say that there a lot of super fit people. Some find this intimating but honestly, I found it inspiring. Even, simply observing people, alot can be learned about fitness.

I really liked seeing all the bodybuilding photos around the gym on the walls. It really gave a sense of the timeless nature of developing the best of one's body, and how we all have it in us, to see what are bodies are capable of achieving.

I definitely recommend giving this spot a workout, to experience the Mecca of the golds gym.

The age range of the members ranged quite a bit, but I'd say it was more of a 35 to 60s age range. Less youngsters.

I've trained at Gold's Venice since 1969. It was once a great gym, the true "Mecca of bodybuilding." But those days are long past. The current gym is overcrowded, with 99% of members not doing much training,but playing with their cell phones and getting in the way of those who are serious. The management of the gym is terrible; the worst I've seen in all my years at the gym. They are incompetent, and have nothing but disdain for the members of the gym. If you think Gold's Gym is the great gym of the past, you will be sadly disappointed.

It can get really busy at certain times of day so I started going more in the evening which is also nice since it’s cooler inside and easier to get the weights and machines you need. Highly recommend!

This place is the Mecca of bodybuilding. The gym is absolutely motivating, the staff are friendly and it's well kept. The only issue and if you are familiar with this area is the parking. They do have a place in the back to park. However, space is limited. Do not leave any valuables in your car.

Very nice gym with unique machines and a nice history. The ,,design‘‘ with all of the pictures of the past Mr. Olympia winners and the BB legends gives you a very nice motivation boost during ur workout session.
Payed 50$ for a 24 hours ( day ) pass.

Don't sign up here. They tell you that you can cancel any time but then honestly make it impossible to cancel. I've tried the app (no cancellation option), went in to the location, filled out a long form, then got an email that said to call, so I call and now he tells me to send an email to someone else. Still not cancelled. Such a waste of time, I had nothing against the place, just was mostly working out at another gym so not using it enough so thought I'd cancel for now, but the whole thing is so scummy that I'm never coming back. Great strategy guys, I guess.

The gym has its own hand-made leg equipment that you'll never find anywhere else

A front and back outside workout area with the front being massive a whole gym in and of itself

Obviously, you get to see Arnold if you're lucky

What's not to love - if you're a gym rat, you're going to go here regardless

If you're sort of into it but not really, you will probably skip the 50 dollar day pass or 150 for the week

If you know you know... go get your pass and get your pump on 💪

I’ve been at every gym in LA. I love seeing all the different gyms throughout the city. Each gym is unique with its crowds, its own kinda cultures, energy, equipment, etc… but this one here is a classic!! I really enjoyed my time here. People seem social but also very serious about working out, which is nice!
