We wrapped up our vacation with one last golf outing, and we couldn't have picked a better course to end on. The greens were in great condition--smooth, well-maintained, and a pleasure to play on. The course offered just the right mix of challenge and beauty, making every hole enjoyable. You can tell the staff takes pride in keeping everything in top shape. Played it around the Father’s Day weekend so not the most ideal time. But, the course was in fantastic shape. It’s really fun course to play. Pretty open off the tee but requires good iron shots into the greens. The greens rolled great. The pro shop staff was amazing 6 states for them. Didnt try the restaurant but it looks really fun as well. Will definitely play here next time in in the area.

My husband and I were really looking forward to burgers and fries after a long vacation. The host greeted us warmly and took us to our table. A busser then kindly adjusted the umbrella for us.

Unfortunately, the service quickly fell apart after that. We sat at our table for 12-15 minutes without a single acknowledgment from any server — not water, not a "I'll be with you," just nothing. It felt like we were completely forgotten. After waiting and feeling increasingly uncomfortable, we decided to leave.

It’s disappointing because the initial experience showed so much promise, but being ignored for that long without even a basic courtesy like water or a greeting is unacceptable. The waitress attended everyone else around and next to us, but we got nada. I hope they work on improving consistency in their service, because first impressions matter — but so does follow-through.

Terrible Experience – Cut Off with No Warning While Others Were Over-Served!

I’m absolutely disgusted by how we were treated here. We came in, ordered food, and had four drinks each—nothing excessive, nothing disruptive. Suddenly, without any warning or explanation, we were cut off. No reason given, just an abrupt and completely unnecessary decision.

What makes it worse is that while we were being cut off, we saw other customers being blatantly over-served—loud, stumbling, and still getting drinks with no issue. So why were we singled out? It’s beyond unprofessional and completely unfair.

If there was a problem, they should have communicated like professionals instead of making us feel unwelcome for no reason. We were paying customers, enjoying our time, and were treated with complete disrespect.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who values good service and fair treatment. Plenty of other places know how to treat their guests properly—this is NOT one of them!

Super Bowl Sunday was really fun. There was enough crowd to feel like it was an event, but not crazy. Recent menu changes have been good. I also like that they have a dedicated person to bring food out to you, if your server happens to be busy. Big Rock is one of our top 4 or 5 places to go in the valley. Prices are still reasonable.

GOLF COURSE RELATED ONLY - not restaurant! This golf course is so poorly managed. 5-7 minute separation in tee times. Sending out multiple 5-some groups and just completely slowing down the pace of play. Given this course 3 attempts and all have been horrible and would not suggest wasting $150 on a 5.5 hour round of golf. The kicker here is when we addressed the pro shop about the multiple 5-some groups they played dumb and dumber as if they weren’t the ones who sent them out. Save your money and go play Tahquitz Creek!

Disappointing!

Service was not good, employees chatting with no assistance to guest. Different employee got us food, another drinks, was confused as to who to call on for further assistance. My partner and I had to get up and look for service, found employees just talking to each other at POS.
We actually could have just walked out due to no one paying attention to us.
Food is okay, but not the price for what they are requesting. Small portions on appetizers. Not worth the double digits for a small appetizer.

Disappointing!

Service poor, employees chatting at front before one of them noticed people waiting at desk. After being seated took forever to get a menu, even though employees were numerous, and restaurant was not full yet. Servers not trained, brought food with no setups, no napkins, came by once to check if everything ok just as we were just starting to eat, but not seen again until we were ready to leave, no drink refills. The food looks great but not impressed on flavor, had brisket sandwiches, tasted like liquid smoke and horrible tangy mustard that DOES NOT go with brisket, appetizer was good. May go back for music someday but we'll eat somewhere before going.

Last night had happy Hour here with a big group of 15ppl. Servers were Rock n Roll charming! The food all looked amazing! And our food was served hot and in a timely

Big Rock golf course by far has the best ladies restroom I have ever been in! Let me just say, it will blow your mind. The glam and glitter was very impressive. The Rock and Roll theme is displayed throughout this facility. Including the bar and restaurant area. The menu is actually displayed on record albums and/or records . Very cool. The golf course was fun to play and had a variety of sand traps and water holes but it wasn’t that difficult to play with very generous and wide fairways. I loved putting on the greens as they were nice and fast.
Would I return to play this golf course? Yes! Go for the golf and all of the rock and roll displays! And, the food is decent.

I wasnt too impressed with Big Rock golf course. Yes, the fairways and greens were well maintained, but the layout wasnt too spectacular. Worst of all, the tee times are spread out at 7 min intervals which will back everything up right away. We played on a Saturday afternoon and were faced with 2-3 group waits at every hole and when we got to the 13th hole, there were a total of 5 groups waiting (1 on the green, 1 on fairway, and 3 groups waiting to hit). Unacceptable for the price charged.

Nice track, good sized fairways for errant shots and enough challange for better players. Second time playing and dining here. Golf and course conditions were very good. Dining after is also better than average pub food with a cool music themed bar and great patio. Burgers were enjoyed, clubhouse was not one diners favorite and the tuna pike natcho appetizer was a very good dinner for me. Would probably be a blast here for live music events.

Don't really care for the club cleaner waiting to pounce for tips right at the 18th green.
One of the visits was soured by the theft of a brand new range finder right at the cart drop for the staff to put away for the night, after the round. Staff was not much help.

It's a shame when an establishment offers a great atmosphere yet overlooks the value of good customer service. We were a group of eight and service was marginal to say the least. Normally the automatic 20% tip required for a group this size is understandable yet not when one when poor service is provided. When our food 'eventual' arrived it was cold. When our disappointment was addressed with the manager she unfortunately didn't seem to care. WE WON'T be going back and guess it doesn't really matter as far as Big Rock Pub is concerned.

A very enjoyable golf course: Good condition, the right amount of challenge, well protected greens, legitimate fairways (instead of the 15-yard-wide fairways typical in housing community courses in the region). But what enhances the experience is how clear it is that ALL the employees truly want to make the experience fun. Great people everywhere. Best course for the $ in the Coachella Valley!! We were on a boys 50th bday as a group of 12 from Canada (some pros & some hacks) We all enjoyed the course as it is challenging, but not too difficult. Greens run smooth.

The Pub & patio post round was fantastic. Great vibe & cool rock memorabilia. Staff was awesome - especially Curtis in the Pro Shop!

Will be a staple in the rotation for future trips to Palm Springs area.

I wish I could put No stars bc my family was never served or acknowledged, it was made very clear we are not welcome nor would like us to return !!!! I would like to speak to the general manager of this restaurant as I cannot believe the racism that goes on still today !!! To give absolutely no acknowledgment to a guest is insane to me ! My husband had to find a server to ask for service last night, after waiting at his table for a server to approach to at least acknowledge the table and guest, the normal protocol , usually servers will come greet guest , offer water or a drink in the meantime, or look at the menu, none of that happened !!!!!! Not only did it not happen, my husband even asked if he could get service, was told absolutely they’d be right back. They never came back! The customers around him noticed he was being ignored, and also made comments that he must not be liked because nobody was acknowledging him. The guest that were sitting at the table next to him, even offered to call the server over for him, because they felt so bad and embarrassed as well to witness such behavior by staff . I’m sorry, but this restaurant is not for members only or you need to look a certain way to be treated with kindness and respect as a human being. I will make sure to spread this to every person I know as this is unacceptable treatment. It’s embarrassing and Humiliating to be treated that way let alone for others to also witness you being treated that way. The general manager at this establishment needs to have a staff meeting and go over common courtesy ; fair treatment to all customers; customer service basics and so on; On a different occasion, I also witnessed the same treatment of my brother, I didn’t write a review then, I gave them Grace and told myself maybe it was just a bad day for them. Unfortunately, last night was a reminder that it was not a bad day for them. That is the way the staff treats their customers. Which is so ironic when most there staff look like me or my family … which leads me to believe there trained to acknowledge some before others ! Which is why I am writing this review because I cannot believe two different times the same treatment was given to my family. The humiliation and embarrassment from last night caused us to leave and dine elsewhere! This is the responsibility of the GM for guest to feel safe and respected, as well as making a lasting impression on guest! The lasting impression made on my family is don’t ever go back unless we want to be humiliated and embarrassed!!!! Thank you GM and staff ! My children have witness the actions of ignorance via your establishment! FYI future guest … make sure you fit there guest profile otherwise you risk humiliation and embarrassment!

This is the story of the love hate relationship I have with this place.

Octoberfest was a joke! Pay $5.00 for a plain jane mug...could they not have at least put there logo on it to make it worth something???

Food is Great! If you like french fries that is... because basically that's mostly what you get for $20.00 there! Tiny little portions and a huge whopping basket of fries is all you get although the cauliflower salad was outstanding! Too bad you it wasn't offered as a full size portion.

Pretty much ALL their dishes are double the price of what they should...the COVID excuse is over! Too many restaurants and pubs need to realize this if they want people to come back.

Some servers are Fantastic and some try to take advantage of you and your money.

Lastly the tip portion on there charge machine's is outrageous!!! And this is after taxes are included.

Love the live music and one of the best venues in the valley for that.

Went for dinner on a Saturday night. We ate outdoors since the wait for indoor seating was too long, and the live music was cranked up too loud to have any sort of conversation in there anyway. The food was good and service was quick and friendly. However, there were sprinklers watering the golf course while we ate, and since it was a breezy evening, some of the water got blown towards the outdoor seating area. It was never more than a gentle mist, but it was still a little annoying. This place should be more mindful of when they have their sprinklers on, as windy conditions could get people wet.

She was an amazing server. Was it that 1/2 the drinks weren’t available, or the fact that it took 25 min to bring the drinks to the table? Or, was it when we asked for the heater to be turned she hollers across the patio, “it’s broken!!”. What a fun place we discovered.
Unfortunately I had a blood sugar issue, slipped in the stall of the bathroom and couldn't get up. I was dizzy and weak. The staff was called. They were AMAZING. They were so kind. Got my husband in to help me. I'm still so embarrassed but grateful for their help.

Favorite new hot spot! Awesome venue for live music and rock n' roll memorabilia! Gorgeous outdoor area with full bar overlooking a golf course. The service from the shaved head girl needs to be addressed and I'm the one to do it. It's sad and completely disrespectful how she was to the customers. It puts a bad name to the Pub as a whole. Patron waited 45 min for a burger and they wasn't sure what happened to the order. Then had the nerve to tell him it'll be out soon. By the time it came, the patron already asked for a refund. The then supposed manager comes out and gives the patron attitude because of the refund. Sarcasm wasn't necessary, then she said to him "well it's busy", it took a lot for me to not speak in the patrons defense.

The golf staff is great they take care of us and never any issues on the course. The drink girl is also amazing and takes great care of the group on the course. The problem is the restaurant/bar area. We asked to be put into an area where we wouldn't disturb the normal customers. We just wanted to do our awards have some food and drinks and spend money in the bar. Mid way through my announcements the manager Stephanie McCormick comes to me and said your group is cut off and have to leave. When I asked why she and I quote " because I said so." Then walked away. After they rudely cleared all of our tables and forced closed all our tabs and made 25 people leave. If we were out of control or disruptive I get it. But we were literally just chilling having a normal good time. Once everyone bounced I went back in to talk to her and have a conversation she all of a sudden left the property. We paid thousands of dollars to play the course and were about to spend thousands more in the bar/restaurant. I still can't believe it. Last year similar scenario but we kinda just let it go. After what just happened we're obviously never stepping foot into this establishment. If you want rude management and bad customer service come here. The golf is great but don't support the restaurant. The owners need to have a conversation with Stephanie.

I love this place! The patio seating is very nice and you get to watch the golfers while you eat in addition to a lovely view of the course. The staff is super pleasant and always courteous and accommodating. I travel to the area for work 12 weeks every year. Because I’m there for long periods of time my dogs travel with me. When they say they are dog friendly, it’s an understatement. They really love dogs. This is my go-to place when dining mid-day because the dogs are so welcomed. The food and drinks are outstanding with lots of options and choices too.

Short story is sat at the table and the waitress was so rude walked out. Longer story Walked in took some pictures with the rock and roll memorabilia. Hostess seated us. Two seconds later the waitress says would you like a drink. I said water please for now and I will look at the menu for another drink. She said ok do you know what you want to eat the kitchen closes in half an hour. I said no I need to look at the menu. She definitely had an attitude tone by the way. Comes back with my water two minutes later. Do you know what you want to eat? Looks at her watch and says kitchen closes in 30 minutes. again with a rude attitude. Walked out because obviously they do not have time there to give me a chance to look at menu for a drink or food! Disappointed! I have been wanting to try this place for a long time and now I will not be returning

The course was just okay. Not a $109 course. Not very interesting. Greens were in great shape but not true. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pace of play was very good. Played in under 3.5 hours. The restaurant is wonderful with outdoor seating with course views. Loved the buffalo cauliflower and fish tacos.

We live in the Indian Springs Golf & Countey Club with access to the Big Rock. The Big Rock is always so much fun. The food and service is the best! We always bring all our guests to the Big Rock while we sit out on the outdoor patio overlooking the 18th green. Just so special and spectacular watching golfers finish their game and gazing at the chocolate mountains!

Went there last nite with my husband. We have been going there for years. Okay they were out of whiskey, no problem. Took forever to get our drinks and they were not busy. Got the check. The server presumed that the remaining 9.50 of a 32.50 bill was his. He never returned to even ask us or offer us our change. On the way out my husband was furious, I stopped and asked for our change and the server acted like it was a hassle for him to get it.I stormed out without it!! needless to say we are never going back.

This restaurant is a real good place to have a family get together or wedding or something to that nature because it is a large open with a full length back patio and plenty of dance floor in several parts of the bar. We attended to memorial for my father passing last year. The staff was always visible and the food was very well prepared. Thank you big rock.

The staff in the pro Shop welcomed our group Made us feel like Family got us off to a good start,the course is in very good shape wide fairways ,the greens groomed to perfection really enjoyed our day!and we had lunch there as well very good service great all in all a wonderful experience!
