The instructors at this cycling studio are always amazing. Very motivating and energetic. Unfortunately, the front desk staff are unhelpful, more focused on chatting with each other than assisting guests, and can make you feel like you’re interrupting them. The equipment could also use some maintenance. Thankfully, the quality of the instructors makes up for these inconveniences.

So quietly this place started my #addictedtospin before I knew what a spin class really was. This place is absolutely amazing and both of my classes with Sammy was a pure inspirational high energy great dance music sweat fest on the bike. Book your bike ASAP because at random 10:45 am on a Friday morning, ALL 52 BIKES WERE TAKEN!!! Then again on Saturday morning at 9:30 am. When I visit LB, this is my place to go and I was reminded again why!!! LETS GOOOOO...with a lot of Love in your right hand and Courage in your left hand with it!!!!! (Tell Sammy I am stealing that) 😉😉😉😉

Grit you did more then make we sweat, grind and feel energized! You made my mind, body and soul heal! After lossing my husband to cancer only 4 months earlier, I was emotionally and physically stuck. After just one class I was able to dig deep, ride hard, sweat, smile, cry and leave knowing I would be back! Thank you Steph for my first ride and Kelli for my second. I will keep coming back for my therapy!

I love this place so much, I have been trying to get back into fitness trying gyms and at home routines but i just couldn’t stay consistent. It took about 3 years of ~getting fit on my own ~ before finding Grit, and I am obsessed! I started at just once a week, now I try to go 2-3 if my work schedule allows but I look forward to it every day. I started in July and have been going every week since, I wouldn’t be able to have done it without Sammy though! He was my first instructor and like most new comers, I stayed seated the whole time amazed that people could do what they do on those bikes! His energy is amazing, music and choreo are fantastic. I come from a music / sound engineer home and Sammy just gets it. You forget you’re in pain and breathless because it’s so fun and the music is moving with you :) Sammy keeps me coming back!

This was a great class! Highly recommend this, HOWEVER Warning for new comers to cycle in general. I felt this was needed after being hospitalized after this class,
Do not push yourself, handle only what you can. And hydrate. What these cycle classes don’t tell you is the potential risk of getting rhabdomyolysis, if you don’t take it easy/first timer
They definitely need to have more of a warning for these classes/health warning ‼️ I can’t tell you how many nurses I met at the hospital who have seen cases of young woman taking these awesome classes and then get hurt to the point it’s life threatening. Take with caution and listen to your body!!

This was my first cycling studio, and honestly all others pale in comparison to it. I’ve done SoulCycle and CycleBar, but really this is it. There’s just something about the energy, music, formatting of the classes - it’s just the best cardio workout. Brandi was my fav, she was so sweet and I loved her affirmations, it almost made it feel like a yoga class. The motivational speaking feature of the classes is probably one of the things that made it so next level.
The bathroom/shower area is tight, but I love how they provide deodorant, towels, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, and lotion. The 30 minute class was always my favorite over lunch, then a quick shower and back to work. It’s a great option if you work in the area.

Enjoyed the free intro class I took here. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The class I took was high energy and well thought out. The music was at times so loud that I could not hear the instructor. Additionally the clip in lock on one side of my bike felt too loose to where it was a bit uncomfortable to ride at times without my foot slipping/changing positions.

Pros thus far:
I enjoy taking the $12 at 12 classes. They are upbeat, really make you sweat and are over before you know it. The shoe rentals are just 2 bucks and convenient. I also love the eucalyptus freezing cold towel provided when we finish working out. It is always very clean and fun, lots of fun.
Cons thus far:
The front desk clerks weren't always welcoming or friendly to me each time I visited and I have been to 2 different locations. I think staff should be trained to have the same demeanor "shinny disposition" with ALL patrons, especially those who look different than them. We are all there for an uplifting experience and burn stress, you know human stuff that has no color barriers.
Lastly, there wasn't more than myself or 1 other Black person in classes I've taken. Some other patrons look uncomfortable about me being there on each occasion, making it a bit uncomfortable for me as a Black woman. I've lived in the South in NC and felt more welcome in prominently "Caucasian" attended exercise classes, which is odd because we are in "tolerant" CA .
Any hoots, 🙏
I vowed to push past these reoccurring cons to reach my fitness goals. I will return to the saddle uncomfy experiences and all because I deserve to be there, too 🥰 at this public place.

Amazing experience! I have always loved cycling as one of my forms of exercise. The instructors, music, and cleanliness makes exercising super enjoyable and fun. I tried their free first class and ended up purchasing the new members package! I will definitely be coming back to feel the intensity and burn of GritCycle LB. If it wasn't for the hefty price of the unlimited class package I would do it everyday.

No better place to workout and have fun. Great staff from Heather and Savanah up front to Reina, Lindsay, Sammy as instructors. Gym is like a family that makes you want to come back for more.
Downside, it is on the pricier side. But you get what you pay for

I’ve been coming to Grit for the last two years, so this is long overdue. The Grit family is a community of people that you share a common goal with, the joy of the ride! During my time at Grit I have been excited to be in the studio with my favorite instructors, Reina and Kelli. When I think about Reina one word comes to mind, FIERCE! Reina will push you beyond your limits and reinforce what you have accomplished. Her class is so much more than a place to exercise but a place to refuel. For me, one of the best ways to start my day. Reina takes the time to know your name and pushes you not to give up. I’m always surprised to hear her call my name. Kelli exudes genuine love and encouragement for everyone in her class. Kelli’s personality is electrifying and her sense of humor is hilarious. I enjoy her class and always feel a sense of gratification. If you enjoy cycling, I definitely recommend Grit! Looking forward to the next ride, La Shawn Yarbrough!

The energy here is exceptional. All the instructors are passionate about spin and will keep you motivated throughout. The studio is exceptionally clean & stylish. Plenty of parking. I recommend arriving at least 15 min before class to make sure you get a spot on time. The closer the better! If it's your first time, definitely a possibility you will experience wobbly legs afterwards. 😄 First ride includes shoe rental, after that it's $2. Also good to come early so the team can help you adjust your bike for a comfortable ride & to show you how to clip in. Bring water! There are showers, lockers, & a bottle refill station. You will sweat...a lot. Towels are also provided. Classes fill up quick so plan ahead and secure your spot. Would highly recommend!

5 Stars All The Way!
Located in a very busy plaza with tons of other shops, yoga, and fitness facilities this plaza has lots of parking as well as street parking.
I discovered GritCycle shortly after moving to LB and took my first class in October 2021 and I don’t regret it.
I had an idea of what indoor cycling was but never really looked much into it, I was looking for something new and exciting to get me motivated into working out again. I signed up for a free class and I was immediately hooked, after that first class I knew it was something I wanted to continue in my weekly routine.
If it’s your first time attending make sure you check in at the front desk and let them know, they will have a staff member help you set up your bike and show you how to lock in your shoes. Don’t feel embarrassed to ask, it took my about 3 classes before I could remember how to set up my bike on my own.
I’ve tried a few instructors and they have all been great but I get the most inspired and motivated when I take Sammy’s Class. Sammy is so fun and motivating, he always has the best music playlist… My fav is when he plays his fav Britney Spears, it’s like a club but without the drinking lol
Most classes have a short section of a guided hand weight routine. Weights are provided, you can choose the weight of your hand weights before class starts. The bikes do not have a screen to tell you how many calories you have burned or so on so if your looking for something that gives you your workout info you might want to bring something with you, I just use my Apple Watch and that works great for me. After every class the staff comes around and hands out small cold wet towels to help cool you down and after a 45 min ride those things feel like heaven lol
I love the whole environment and atmosphere. Everything is well organized and and always clean. The Blue room is were it all goes down, one big room with tons of cycling bikes, fans on the walls (it gets hott and sweaty), loud speakers, and blue lights that light up the room. This location has a very nice restroom set up and a shower in case you need to freshen up before leaving. They have a water fill station (bring a water container) and plenty of free lockers to secure your items while you ride.
They also have other location along with the newest location on PCH and 2nd.
If you’re a bit interested in trying it out I would highly recommend you do. Download the app and try the first class for free using Code: Blue
They also rent shoes for $2 a class which is great while seeing if it’s something you would like so you don’t invest in shoes before hand.
FYi:
The instructors lead the class and sometimes it can be hard or confusing but the best part is NO ONE IS WATCHING YOU so you go at your own pace and speed. Once you get the hang of it you’ll be like me and own your first pair of cycling shoes lol
Hope to ride with you soon :)

Such a fun place to ride! Their space is absolutely beautiful. I went here pre-pandemic and had such a blast. Great instructors, music, and workout. Locker rooms are pristine. Plenty of space to hang out. I believe many grit cycles are now going online, which is an added bonus.

My experience here has been consistently incredible! After a years worth of classes (off and on admit I fell off for a bitI) I am still supper amp'd about going. The music, lighting, the ENERGY and instructors create this atmosphere that makes me push myself to the end of the 45 min classes. I bought shoes because I don't like renting the ones they have. That is my only advice....if your'e really into it...buy shoes. Spin on!!
