At 66, I never imagined I could feel this strong,confident,and capable again.Seven months ago I started working out at Gym Brat, nervous about my back issues and arthritis! From day one Angie has been guiding light-patient, encouraging and always making sure I move safely. She genuinely cares about my health and progress, and it shows in every session. Thanks to her support I’ve built a stronger core, improved my balance, and even feel less arthritis pain on cold days. Every class is a reminder that age and limitations don’t define me. I’ve been training with Angie at GYM BRAT TRAINING for about 8/9 ish months and it has honestly been one of the most transformative places I have ever had the pleasure to be at and experience. The fact that she is also a great friend of mine is a testament to her character not only as a trainer but as a person. She is dedicated, honest, and truly invested in the success of myself and everyone who comes to train or that just comes into contact with her.
Before we started, I was in a bad way.. just feeling unmotivated, struggling with internal/emotional/physical issues and dealing with a back injury. I knew I needed to make a change, but I never expected to find a trainer who would not only motivate me and get me to just "workout" but also to help me with my discipline and guide me into a healthier more abundant lifestyle. Someone who truly was invested in making my life better. It was never just a workout it was healing✨️
What sets Angie apart from your other basic trainers is her ability to create a fresh, fun and engaging workout plan, she pushes me beyond my comfort zone, focuses on proper form to prevent injury and works with you if you have any injuries. Every session is different, so I'm never bored, and she always knows just when to push me and when to show a little patience. I've gained so much confidence and knowledge from our sessions, and I've learned so much about my body and its capabilities. The results have been incredible!!! I’ve gained muscle and not to mention lost over 30 pounds, and my back injury has healed more than i thought possible. More importantly, my entire mindset around fitness has shifted. Gym Brat is the place to go and Angie is THE trainer!
The gym has a good vibe with a nice small community that is lady-focused. Everyone is super nice and welcoming.

My Story:
I have had some major injuries and two surgeries over the last couple years that really took a toll on my body. I have been to the doctor several times and have been prescribed pain meds, muscle relaxers, and physical therapy. I was also told NOT to lift heavy weights. I used to be active at the gym and lost so much strength during this time. I gained a ton of weight and my self-confidence plummeted. I was afraid to lift weights again because I tried to start light a few times and re-injured myself each time - sometimes by myself, sometimes with a trainer's guidance. I was so reluctant to try again, but I read an article that explained the importance of modified exercise to rebuild strength so I thought I would try one more time with a new trainer. I researched local gyms and I am so happy to have found Gym Brat. Angie is the owner and she is so kind and very knowledgeable. She asked me such specific questions about my pain & injuries, that even my doctor had never asked, and she said, "oh, you didn't pinch or pull anything, you are probably just too tight. Try this.." Then she showed me how to roll-out in a precise spot and try the weight again. IT WORKED!!! then she is constantly checking on how I feel doing certain moves and has me adjust accordingly. I have only been going for a month and a half, but since then my strength has dramatically improved and although I have a long way to go, I am optimistic for the first time in a looooong time. Angie is amazing if I could give her infinity stars I would!!! She’s helped me reach goals in months that I’ve had for years. Not only does she teach me correct form and how to safely weight train but she advises on meal prep! I’ve been able to track food and learned the importance of hitting my macros and micros because of her! Her gym is so welcoming and all the girls are lovely. I came here only to lose weight and gain muscle. But I’ve also gained confidence, knowledge, and friendship! I love the atmosphere so much that even though I’m moving and sadly won’t be able to be in person, I’ve decided to keep Angie as an online trainer. I just can’t let her go!!! Meeting her was an entire lifestyle change that I’m extremely grateful for. I can’t recommend her enough!!

Angie has literally changed my life! I’ve lost almost 40lb in 6 months and I’m the strongest I have ever been. ’ve been seeing Angie for about 3-Almost 4 years now and she’s truly the best trainer I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. In reality, she’s just great overall- as a personal trainer AND as a person. I had a lot of anxiety going into my weight loss journey due to having an unhealthy relationship with the scale and food. I also struggle from depressive episodes that make it really hard for me to keep going, which Angie, herself, has seen me experience. She’s never judged me for the struggles I’ve had during my training with her. She’s somehow always understood what I was going through and has been nothing short of my saving grace. Not just for my physical health, but for my mental health as well. She’s one of those people that you can be completely honest with when you’re struggling and she’ll understand as well as have great advice. She’s very patient with me and encourages me especially on days when I don’t feel like I’m doing great. If there’s a trainer you’re looking for that helps you push yourself to be the best you can be not only physically but mentally as well, I highly recommend Angie. I promise you won’t regret it.

I always had a decent figure- but I had NO idea how to properly workout and I've never felt as strong as I do now. I've noticed muscle growth where I've never had it and I finally lost the extra 10 pounds I've been carrying since covid hit.
Angie is kind, knowledgable, and attentive. I always have a fun and challenging session and I've never been this motivated! Angie is the kind of trainer that will inspire and empower you to push for more at a comfortable pace for you and your body. I have had trainers in the past, so I knew what I was looking for in a trainer. I consulted with four different trainers around the area and knew Angie was going to be the right fit prior to meeting her. It’s easy for someone to tell you what to do to lose weight and create a nutrition plan for you, there’s a difference when they understand your lifestyle and know that you are not going to follow a generic plan just to lose the weight quick and fall back to where you were to begin with.
If you’re serious about your fitness journey Angie is the trainer to work with. I was someone who was intimidated by the thought of doing a dead lift even after having experiences with other trainers. Angie really took the time to help me correct my form, I am now getting in formation without even thinking twice. I have seen my progress not just on the scale but mentally within a short period of time. I am looking forward to what’s to come!
Depending on your budget and how comfortable you are when working out around other people, you can get a lot out of her group sessions. She still has her own agenda for you depending on what your goals are, you are not working out as a group with other people. Most importantly is that everyone is respectful at this gym!

I feel so grateful to have found Angie, and to have been able to work with her the past few months. From the first phone call we had I felt like she cared about who I was and what my goals were. I never thought I would get a personal trainer, but I had failed on my own too many times to count and was finally ready to prioritize my health and fitness. I did some research and came across Angie. Her pricing was reasonable and I loved that she is a woman and has her own business going, as I didn’t want to work with men. I was so nervous, didn’t know what to expect- but from our first session I knew I had made the right choice. I felt comfortable with Angie, not judged- we worked together to come up with goals for myself, she assessed me so she could meet me where I was at. Her gym is so nice, and it’s really great working one on one with her there. You get really individualized care with her. I hit the ground running with Angie’s guidance, I’m grateful for the knowledge she has shared with me in terms of form as that was always something I was worried about. I feel better going to the gym now because I know more of what I’m doing thanks to Angie. Our workouts are something I always look forward to because she pushes me in the best way. Like other reviewers said, she really is the perfect balance of challenging you in a way that’s not drill sergeant-y. She has a great sense of when you can push yourself to do more and when to have you chill a little more on something. I’ve watched the number on the scale go down week after week with Angie, loving that it’s because of the better choices I am making with her guidance. Seeing the progress pictures after the first six weeks was amazing, I felt so proud and Angie was genuinely so excited for me too. She really cares about you- I ran into a hard month and she was there for me, no judgment, just truly wanting to help me dig deep and figure out what was blocking me from moving forward with my goals. She’s an amazing trainer, knows her stuff, loves what she does, but she’s more than that. She’s also someone who really cares about her clients. She gave me some work to do when I ran into a hard time and it was really helpful, she understands that this journey isn’t just about food and exercise- it’s about mindset, spirit, grit too. I've been working with Angie for a few months after failing miserably at working out on my own. She's not the "ra-ra type" nor is she the punisher. She's the perfect blend of encouraging and down to earth; what I really admire and needed from a trainer. She pushes me but doesn't break me or my spirit. Most importantly she listens to my goals. Tells me what is realistic and we work toward them. I feel better, a lot less tired, and put on a dress for the first time in years. The space is a perfect size and super clean. Absolutely adore Angie. I honestly don't even know where to begin with my journey with her as I have hit a full year of being one of her trainees. I started out from having a not so great mindset about my body with extremely low confidence in myself overall. I dislike going to the gym on my own as I have no idea where to start nor anyone to help correct my posture/proper form of performing basic routine exercises so I decided the best way was to find a personal trainer that can help me stay accountable with my weight loss journey. I reached out to Angie here, quickly received a consultation call from her, and scheduled an in person meeting with her, and from then on, i absolutely enjoyed every single minute spent with her. Trust me, Angie is an AMAZING trainer, and she is very welcoming, helpful, and adaptable to each client of hers. Very responsive to any inquiries & etc. you might have.
I went from absolutely disliking working out to growing fond of it; Angie also provides many great meal prep ideas/examples that are not only healthy but also food you can still enjoy without cutting back like crazy. Heck, I have my cheat days here and there sometimes, but I find myself falling back quick to my meal prep/healthy eating lifestyle with no issues at all. Finally, after a year (& counting!) of working with her, so much progress has been made that has helped me out in the long run. Angie loves and gets excited when her clients see the results of their effort put in, and I especially love that she has a positive mindset and encourages her clients, such as myself, to be proud of the work we put in, even if its not a big change, any change is something.
Anyways, I HIGHLY recommend anyone of age, be it young to old, to work with Angie. She is professional and amazing at what she does, and I don't regret picking her to be my personal trainer. I love the energy & care she gives to each and every one of her clients. She is definitely someone you can confide in and warm at heart who genuinely loves her work and cares for her clients so much. I’ve been working with Angie since February and she’s been absolutely amazing. She’s relatable, easy going and doesn’t intimidate you! I work with her 3 days a week and I’m excited to go in every time we have a session. I appreciate her starting with conditioning methods and learning about my body before increasing the intensity of my workouts. At first I was nervous about being thrown to the wolves! After just 6 weeks I saw a significant difference in my body composition. We’re over our two month mark of working together now and I can’t wait to see where I will be in another 6 weeks. Angie has helped me grow a better understanding of what my body needs and how to maintain a healthier relationship with my body. I grow more and more in love with my body every day.
