⭐☆☆☆☆ Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend

Gymtowne SF looks promising from the outside—big space, nice equipment—but it’s honestly a waste. The classes are incredibly short for how expensive they are, and the entire experience feels rushed and poorly managed. When I offered some feedback about my concerns, I was completely dismissed by the owner, who came off as defensive and frankly, not friendly at all.

For the amount of time, effort, and money it takes just to get there, it’s simply not worth it. The space could be great, but it’s being wasted on a program that doesn’t seem interested in improving. Would not recommend.

Big location with lots of equipment that is clean and in good condition. Different areas are set up to accommodate different class levels and timings. The only reason for a 4 rating, instead of a 5, is lack of options for boys level 1 classes; there is only one class and one time all week (Wednesday evening), which provides little opportunity to attend. However, girls and toddler classes have many day and time options.

My 19 month old son attended rug bugs class and had an absolute blast. There were lots of things that he could play on and he loved to explore his options. The class only had a few minutes of actual structure, which is understandable for his age, and was more free play time. Definitely recommend rug bugs.

My 8 year old son attended boys level 1 and while this was not the right activity for him, it is his preference and not a reflection of the gym or its staff. The staff/ teachers were friendly and accommodating. Special shout out to Elania (name spelling?), who went out of her way to make sure that my son had a nice experience; it is people like her that take this initiative in which people have good experiences and walk away with a happy feeling of the company or service. Thank you, Elania!

We definitely recommend this place.

Horrible!! First experience for my 8 year old, the teacher isn’t trained enough to work with beginners you can see it immediately but I thought give it a chance but then the Owner puts my girl on a bar she wasn’t ready for and my child Said Stop 5 times because the Owner was pushing from behind and just said your here to learn and I’m here to teach. NO when a child is scared saying Stop You Stop she shouldn’t work with children at all. HORRIBLE

Such a great experience which provides a unique creative outlet for the kids (adults too!). All of the structures are fun to play on and help build confidence. The environment provides a nice way for kiddos to socialize. Also a great way to burn energy and crash out for a long nap! I highly recommend this place.

The ninja class is NOT how it was described online or in the website pictures. Waste of money and the instructors are rude to the kids. I have contacted literally all the other gyms in the area. Hopefully we can switch soon

I was a student of gymnastics a real long time ago and the teachers were the meanest people that taught me and the other students. I remember being instructed by a woman named Jeanette. She awarded us with cheap jewelry instead of gold medals. 😠

Excellent program for young tumblers. Gymtowne has prioritized COVID precautions including completely outdoor, masked tumbling classes this Spring. We are consistently impressed with the dedicated and caring staff and always have a wonderful time here.

Gymtowne is an amazing place. The coaches put themselves into their work, creating exciting obstacle courses, routines, and skills for the kids. I’m grateful for their kindness with my shy kids, and for encouraging them as they grow. This place is a gem, the coaches are keepers, and I hope they are around for a long time.

Both my kids have been coming here for a few months now and they absolutely love it. They do learn plenty about their core strength, balancing, technique, and many other things. My eldest daughter always comes out sweating and is always so proud to show me new moves she has learned or difficult techniques that she accomplishes. I have to give a shout-out to JUSTIN who teaches level - 1. Thank you very much for being such an encouraging instructor. You are awesome!!!

Just a heads up to new parents, the gym stinks lol! There is really no other way to put it. But what more could you expect from a gym full of barefoot kids. I think I have now gotten use to the smell. It took me a few weeks to adjust. Once you have been there often enough, you get use to it.

Otherwise we love this place.
