This is a great dojo to get a traditional Okinawan karate education. Consistently give yourself to the training for one year and your body will change, go five years and your life will change. Go ten+ years and your mind-body connection will be next level. The dojo has solid lineage and is associated with like dojos all over the world.

The owners are super nice. The sensi are competent. Nice facility. Sadly it's $180/mo plus $50 to test for each belt. There's only 1 day class. Even in the summer.

My child was promoted despite not being able to to perform his kata or stances properly, which is not ideal. It's a great group of people but overpriced.

If money is not an issue and learning proper form from day one is not an issue I definitely recommend HMAC. Very nice, respectful owners and sensing. But if money is an issue and you want to reach yellow belt in a reasonable amount of time you might want to look at other dojos.

Hate to be critical because the people are super nice but I wish we would have known it would cost $950 (plus cost of gi and and testing ) to achieve yellow belt.

There's also quite a bit of distraction during class when instruction is stopped while visitors tell stories about travel to Okinawa. Distance learners (on zoom call) inturupting class to tell stories about Ireland. Sensi shopping class to tell stories unrelated to martial arts

Minus gi and testing fees, except to pay $2160/year.

Haley's Martial Arts helped me stay out of trouble when I was younger. A lot of life lessons can be learned here, and a whole lot of martial arts as well. 👍
