I limped into Happy Hour Fitness several months ago with a not insignificant sense of trepidation, never having been to a personal trainer before. Xabi, the owner and spirit of HHF welcomed me in and assured me that he understood what it was it to rehab from injury (besides being close to my age and an impressive example of his own fitness regimen, he is a soccer player who has rehabbed from surgeries and understands the spectrum of needs his diverse clientele have). I now really look forward to the intense, personalized and focused workouts he guides me through every time I walk through his door. I am literally standing up straighter and feeling stronger than ever as a result of his well rounded and punishing (in the best sense of the word) routines. My trepidation is gone replaced by a deep sense of gratitude for the change he has helped me achieve.
Xabi has helped me with my flexibility (woefully neglected prior to starting with him), mobility, core fitness, cardio and overall strength. In addition to supporting my health, he is a warm and caring person who feels like a real partner in my well being. His studio is neat, clean and open reflecting his whole approach. My partner got tired of hearing me rave about Xabi and decided to take one of his group classes to check him our for herself. She's now a fan too.

The best gym around! Xabier creates such a wonderful environment that is worth so much. The classes are challenging, always different, and so fun. The people are friendly and truly care about each other. And of course, Xabier is an energetic, caring, funny, knowledgeable teacher who keeps us all coming back. It really feels like a family. Plus, after years of knee issues, I am hiking backpacking trips like a champ. Couldnβt recommend it more. Iβm so grateful to have this place in my life. Love you Xabi π

HH fitness is great! Xabi is a wonderful instructor who pushes you to get a great workout in every time. He's super energetic and supportive and as a result, the gym has a real community feel. Xabi offers a variety of classes (spin, weights, Bosu ball, etc.) and the exercises he leads you through change constantly such that it's never boring or predictable, which I really appreciate. I moved out of California and still make time to see Xabi and attend class whenever I'm back in town!

I tried out several gyms over the last few months and settled on HH fitness for a few reasons. First, there are both spin and group fitness (strength & cardio) classes. Second Xabier is very energetic and supportive. Third, the classes are quite intense and push you. Fourth, the classes are all unique, a lot of the music is electronic or salsa, and the people are so welcoming. Some folks have been coming for many years and others go every day. It has a real neighborhood gym vibe. The gym has a deal so you can try it out, 5 classes for $50. I swear I could tell I was more in shape after the 5 classes!

I continue to love Happy Hour Fitness! I originally wrote my review 5 years ago and I still cherish this studio for the expertise of the owner Xabier and the great community of people who value their health. It is an amazing, fun, and supportive place.
Why do I love Happy Hour Fitness so much? Because it's a small, personal gym with high quality classes and personal training. Xabier, the owner, is an expert at guiding people no matter the level of fitness you are at or the injury you have. I've seen people at this gym of all ages who are always challenged in a fun but safe way. The spinning classes are the best I've been to and I've done spinning classes for over 20+ years in NYC, SF and the East Bay. The Bosu classes offered work on strength, balance, cardio and core - perfect. Overall this gym offers everything needed for a well rounded fitness routine.

No matter your age, fitness level, or experience, taking a workout class at Happy Hour Fitness with Xabier will make you sweat and make you smile! He has an infectious energy, and paired with the workouts, really makes you want to push yourself in class. Every class is something unique and includes a great playlist. What really makes the studio unique in my opinion, is he has cultivated a group that all works together to push each other to be their best during the class. Classes always begin with dynamic stretching and end with core work and a cool down. I appreciate that Xabier always offers modifications for exercises to accommodate all fitness levels and is considerate of injuries or any barriers to exercise. If you're looking for a small fitness studio dedicated to fun workouts, fitness, and inclusivity, this is the place to be.

By far the BEST workout studio around! The owner is highly knowledgeable and motivating! All workouts are adaptable to your fitness level, from complete beginner to seasoned pro. I also have a membership at Anytime Fitness, but it doesn't offer the fun environment, specialized workouts, and good community vibes that Happy Hour does, not to mention the crazy calorie burn! TRUST ME, you have to try it!

I LOVE HHF! I have been taking classes and personal training here for over 10 years. I am a very active athlete (skiing, soccer, tennis, biking etc...you name it...) and think that the variety of classes and training styles offered here is just perfect for me. I can push myself as hard as I can and not feel self-conscious or judged in any way. That is really one of the best parts about HHF-- the people. Xabier has cultivated a group of supportive, nonjudgmental, super-friendly people that just want to have fun while working out. It's my home away from home:)

Happy Hour Fitness is a true neighborhood gem. The owner, Xabier Xapata, pours his heart and soul -- along with his exceptional knowledge and talent -- into every class and each personal training session. No class is ever the same and the classes are never boring. If you want to sweat hard, get in great shape and laugh a lot then this local gym is the place for you! It is much more than a gym, it's a wonderful vibrant community.

I initially went to Happy Hour because my back was going out way too often and something had to change. Xabier the owner, has a deep understanding of the human body, and an intimate awareness of how to work past and then bolster against injury.
Xabier is also exceedingly charming. Crazy? Well, if you think of charismatic, comedic, loving, and silly all wrapped in the shell of a thickly accented, exceedingly fit Basque man crazy, then sure! But he's just my kind of crazy. I've been doing personal training sessions with Xabier twice a week for about four months now and doing so I went from going to the chiropractor once a week to less than once a month now. I've dropped over 10 pounds (although people ask me if I've dropped a lot more), am more flexible, have better balance and just better all around fitness. I am actually just better at living now. I have more energy, I'm faster (both very important with two young kids) and can do things I couldn't before like change my socks while standing on one leg or holding my son over the edge of a pond simply by bending forward at the waist (previously unthinkable for me).
All of the instructors there are so dedicated and caring and charming and all the group classes I've seen while training look fun and dynamic and engaging, in no way your run-of-the-mill cardio classes! Now if I could just find the time to sign up for some of them, I'd be an Adonis!
To really judge this place though, just hang outside for a few days. You'll see nothing but regulars, all different sorts of folks, popping in and out, day after day, all laughing and smiling and greeting each other in an obviously supportive and encouraging environment. I feel blessed to have found Happy Hour as I know that I wouldn't have had that same level of success anywhere else. Is it perfect for everyone? Of course not, but Happy Hour is a really special place and if you are serious about making a significant, positive change in your fitness, you owe it to yourself to give it a try!

In this studio I have found a family!
The owner and main trainer, Xabier, is a beautiful, funny, upbeat and energetic man who took me from being "couch potato" to being a fit, shapely woman with a strong body. The many regulars at this studio give the place a wonderful, comfortable feeling. They are a bunch of fun-loving professionals with an interest in remaining healthy and fit. The place has a very welcoming feeling.
And the Zumba class is the best "party" ever!
Flo is the best Zumba teacher and her energy is infectious. She can keep 15 women dancing, smiling and sweating for 60 minutes and we all leave with a huge smile on our faces! Anyone who likes dancing will enjoy this class...
Try visit the studio... you might get hooked!
