Absolutely love Heimat! This gym feels more like a luxury wellness club than a typical fitness center. The equipment is top-tier, always clean and well-maintained, and the space has this sleek, modern aesthetic that keeps you motivated. The group classes are next-level—challenging but accessible, with knowledgeable instructors who actually care. The staff is warm, attentive, and professional, and the whole vibe feels elevated without being pretentious. It’s not just a gym—it’s a full experience. Definitely worth it if you’re serious about fitness and want a beautiful, inspiring place to train.

Amazing gym with great equipment, pool, and community of members. But what really makes this place special is the staff. Shout out Michael and Chris!

The membership cost seemed a bit ridiculous until I took a tour. Such a nice facility with every imaginable amenity. Yes, there are pretty people, yes there are gays (myself included), but it’s a bit silly to say that there is a “type” that the club does or does not let in. I happened to know a few people that already worked out here (which you mention on the form) and my membership application took a few weeks to go through. There are busy days and times but it’s rare to wait for a machine if you avoid the peak after-work rush. It’s the best gym I’ve ever been a member at by a wide margin and I stopped paying for a coworking space to split my days up between working from home and using the shared space at Heimat, in that context it’s totally worth it.

I came here on a guest pass, and absolutely love this place. It is chic, private, with any amenity you would need. I spent about 4 hours here complete with a workout, 10-minute sauna, then enjoyed the rooftop jacuzzi and lounge pool, followed by a healthy smoothie at the restaurant. It really feels like a day spa. It’s great if you can work remote or don’t need to drive all over LA during the day as it is right in the middle of all things traffic unless you’re able to go late in the evening. They also have very good classes and a spa where you can pay for massages, nail care, etc

Applied once - never beard back.

Followed up, they said to RE-apply. No problem, so I did. But, fully ignored me again.

Had to chase them for a reply and they said, “Apply a 3rd time. Oh, and our prices went up so you’ll have to pay those now.”

Heimat, it seems Latinos are not welcome at your facility, and/or I dont have enough followers for your liking. Insulting that you’d would treat locals like livestock. Ill go somewhere else. ✌️

I’ve been a member of Heimat Gym in West Hollywood for a while now, and I can confidently say that it’s one of the best gyms I’ve ever been to! The atmosphere is always welcoming, and the gym is equipped with top-of-the-line equipment. What truly sets this gym apart, though, is the staff. Kayla, Dalia, and Annie have been absolutely amazing — always going above and beyond to make sure I feel supported in my fitness journey.
Together, Kayla, Dalia, and Annie create an atmosphere of care and attention that makes Heimat Gym stand out. Their dedication to providing top-notch service truly makes me look forward to every workout. If you’re looking for a gym where the staff genuinely cares about your experience and well-being, Heimat Gym is the place to be!

Good luck trying to cancel your membership. There are some shady things in the membership contract. Read the fine print before you sign up. Membership Services was impossible to get a hold of, and when you do they are rude and not helpful. This place is way over rated in my opinion. There are much better gyms at a more reasonable price.

THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!!

How did I not know about Heimat sooner??
I feel like I’ve been missing out on a great thing!
Heimat is like a little oasis in this dirty city! Compared to budget gyms/equinox heimat has them ALL beat.
I love the equipment, I love that people here have class and gym etiquette. They’re really serious about their fitness goals.
I joined about a month ago, and I’m really looking forward to pool season. If you plan on joining keep it cute, keep it tight, and say hi if you see me around 👋🏽

I’ve been a member for over a year but after no signs of improvement by management I’m cancelling my membership.

PROS: design is beautiful. Food at mother tongue is good (but you don’t need a membership to enjoy that). Abe and Vanessa are good reformer pilates teachers. Cardio machines are nice.

CONS:
-All Reformer Pilates classes need to be reserved at noon two days before the class, regardless of class time. You quite literally have to be refreshing the page at 11:59am or you will be on the waitlist or have the class full after one minutes. The machines or very basic cheap ones.
-The events are not worth going to. Most of them are set up to sell you things. If you want a social club there are a lot better ones in LA, this is really just a gym
-The pool also needs to be reserved ahead of time and fills up fast (winter being the exception). To get a large daybed you have to spend a minimum of $150/half day or $300/full day, so unless you have several friends that are members means you also have to buy a guest pass for $100 per guest. This guest pass doesn’t give them access to classes.
-They don’t offer a vacation hold
-Shampoo and conditioner are bad, if you do go bring your own

In summary: If weights or cardio or your priority it may make sense to you to sign up just for workouts. If your expectation is anything beyond a gym (group classes, members club, etc) look elsewhere

Obviously everything is fantastic but the music can be a bit loud. Even in meditation room, it can be quite distracting. Not to mention coworking areas— can be hard to concentrate or get some rest in. Other than that, it is THE gym to go to. Heimat is quite the spot! It's definitely on the pricier side, but if you're into making the most of top-notch amenities, it's worth every penny. Fair warning, it's a bit of an influencer hotspot, but hey, that's Hollywood for you. The pool area is gorgeous. Just keep in mind it can get a bit packed. All in all, a solid choice if you're looking for quality and don't mind a bit of a scene.

Could be:

HEI • MAT: Absolute Perfection. Highly sophisticated utopia enveloped in a compound that whisks you out of the chaos of Los Angeles living to enjoy soulful rejuvenation.

Top indulgences: the small but mighty spa, the ladies are all so pleasant and very accommodating. I have meet my best friends while getting a mani pedi and we all take classes now. The food is exquisite every time I visit I never leave without ordering my must haves and go to items. #softserve This is the home away from home summer oasis. The pool, vibes, service are why I keep coming back for more more more. You are tucked into the heart of the east side of West Hollywood with all the studios. I step out of the chaos of work and into the stress melt away zone. The vision of the club and sensory overload were artfully curated and executed. While I don’t go during peak times, I always have fomo of what community I could be expanding. However I love nodding at friends in passing and staying under the radar working out quietly on each level. It’s easy to get lost there for half a day and just be in supreme spa heaven. HEIMAT is my sanctuary which as a Taurus meets everything! LA’s best exclusive secret. If you know you know. If you go you know!

Not that HEIMAT needs another review but it truly is a wow place. I don’t live in LA full time but was lucky to get an invite while in town and took advantage of the facilities. Everything was beautiful, staff was so kind, and aside from the (beautiful & stunning bodies of so many people) I felt like a prince! (My body is NOT up to par of a lot of these LA boys!) I love just about everything in this club. The staff is above and beyond, friendly and helpful. I really feel like I'm stepping into a 'home away from home' Excellent facilities and instructors. The decor is impeccable. The events are awesome too!

My only complaint is the music. It's much too loud at the pool (and other areas of the club) and they don't seem to taking clients feedback into consideration. Most people have complained about the loud/ club like music and no changes have been made. It doesn't seem to be a fit for the "health/ wellness" concept that they provide.

I do wish that management would listen to members feedback with the music and that they could "read the room" a bit better, so to speak)

Love this gym! Honestly, the closest comparative option being Equinox comes very short to HEIMAT (truly objectively speaking). The only reason why someone would pick Equinox is because it has access to multiple locations, BUT, if you live in LA and want your go-to gym, this place has unlimited classes on top of clean and non-packed facilities.

the club itself amazing - now something happened for sure with men’s bathroom area - the amount of employees walking around being absolutely militant is insane - i was showing and staff was patrolling showers (as in checking to see what’s going on if it’s an open shower) - major invasion of privacy. while showering an employee was banging a squeegee near my shower and brooming all the dirty water on the floor with what I’m sure includes pee and he was pushing that all down to my shower at the end with such force as if to get me to leave - heimat pls talk to your employees - i get you may have had incidents with men inside locker room but what’s gonna happen will happen - pls kick those members out when seen and allow everyone to pls feel that going to work out and relax doesn’t need to feel like mom and dad are making sure that that’s all it is. stop it if you see it but don’t be out there preventing nothing instead of actually cleaning- they really have taken their new duties beyond and it’s uncomfortable. mentioned it to a friend and he was agreeing. so if you know what it’s like to have someone constantly over your shoulder only while in the restroom - you will experience this without doubt and in a very rude pushy manner. spend so much money on feeling like I’m in kid being surveilled isn’t something I’m really into

Update after few month of use
Beautiful but still Golds Gym
This property is first attempt of Golds Gym (owner of heimat) to create premium level fitness club. But it is the same Golds Gym in fancy wrap, management has no ideas how to run premium level club. Club is over sold, to sign up for the class u need to do it 7 days in advance, so today Thursday at 12:00 pm they open classes for next Thursday and by 12:02pm even wait list is full. If you lucky to score class reservation - you gonna burn, it is been 3 month and all three month I was complaining about ac in group classes - it does not work! So prepare to do "power hour"(aka Barrys double floor) or Cycling in Hot Yoga style..... So the amount of classes are limited and instead of adding more they implement cancelation policy (not informing anyone about it and it is not in contract either), first it was you have to cancel 2 hours before and if you fail you get strike - 3 strikes and you banned from booking Classe for 2 weeks (again, not in the contract). Now it is 10 hours (and again, no one said anything, they just quietly changed it) during the quarter, but what quarter toy don't know, and the funniest thing neither do they! After asking for clarification you get that they are not sure and will check it with management. After a week so cd my first request (no one ever contacted me with explanation, hello Golds gym attitude!!) i had to reach them out about clarification, so sharing what i got "If a member receives three strikes, they may not book a class for two weeks. They may resume booking after two weeks, however, if they receive another strike, they will be in timeout for another two weeks. Strikes are removed after 90 days." But beside that Staff is great, everyone is smiling, people are friendly. But why to pay 350 for golds gym when you can pay 15 for the same golds gym 3 blocks away? P.S. manager contacted me and informing that my strikes were removed, nice but they should not have been there at first place. There is rules, laws and etc to implement such policies.

The gym is beautiful, but Lacks mirrors where you need them. The layout of equipment is not ideal. Far to much different music. I counted 6 music cues from the entrance to the locker room. I was told it’s a “vibe” but it would be great if they picked a vibe. Feels a bit all over the place. Classes are tough to book unless you are waiting everyday at noon to sign up for the next week. This club is the perfect intersection of design, fitness, social, and entertainment. It’s a hotel without rooms and has everything the Soho House in West Hollywood is missing. The people are nice, the members aren’t fake Hollywood boogie and since it’s a fitness club too, think Equinox but like 10 times nicer, it’s lovely to see people working out and then socializing.

I joined a few weeks ago with knowing very little about Heimat. Before accepting my membership I toured the club and was immediately hooked. It’s perfect location in mid city makes it easy to get to. There is valet parking, a small dipping pool on the rooftop with a large hot tub. Views of the Hollywood sign, an amazing Indian meets Asian meets California fresh fusion restaurant, a full spa, a juice bar, library, serinity room, social work space, and the list goes on and on.

I noticed some people saying it overlooks a target and homeless people, well so do $10M homes in Brentwood now. The interior space is stunning and you immediacy forget about the outter environment. It’s an instant escape!

I like nice things and for me to give with a 10/10 is saying a lot. Happy you built this and can’t wait to continue to enjoy and meet great people!

So frustrating as you have to valet, they don’t have a parking garage so you are stuck with the unfriendly staff who don’t work for Heimat. If you run a luxury gym hire a valet that actually takes care of cars vs trashing them and not Taking responsibility for their actions

I am absolutely BLOWN AWAY... when it comes to high ticket items, such as this I am extraordinarily hard to please. My expectations are typically unrealistic, but for Heimat they have been exceeded. I am very confident that all of the negative reviews are people who are jealous, and/or equinox is telling their employees to write bad reviews bc they're scared of the compition (equinox comes no where near close to this). also, they play good music and not the awful pop music that equinox loves to blast. 11/10 recommend

Over two months waiting to hear about getting a tour… Was really excited when I saw it coming and amped it up to many friends, now everyone I know is saying what a joke this membership process is. I get you’re trying to create demand, but it’s becoming laughable you’re ignoring people that can affordable a several hundred dollar gym membership. With other negative comments, seems they apologize and offer no real substance to resolving anything. Basically copy and paste responses…

This place is amazing!!! Like Wow!! To be honest I am so blown away. The equipment is brand new and super modern (and a ton of it). The lay out feels like you are in a Architecture Digest magazine. Plus, the pool is fabulous with the roof deck, work station is awesome and staff is super friendly. The yoga instructor Téo is amazing and I love the bootcamp too! I am a member of other social clubs but this one is on a league of its own!!!! 5 HUGE stars!!!

I had the chance to visit and have been to many other gyms similar in a sense that they have many things in common and do not think the member ship price is right for the things your getting. Also there are so few photos of what the gym has to offer online that it is hard to see exactly what your paying for. And lastly, the location is not the best because of the surrounding area.

I don’t get why a gym that charges above average fees would hire such inexperienced employees. It seems they are paying people very little given the quality of the employees who are not very friendly or knowledge and are incredibly slow.

I suggest that they offer their employees training to improve their communication skills. Especially Grace, what an incredibly rude employee, and she’s supposed to be a Director!

It’s a new gym so the equipment is new but the customer service is terrible. They are very unresponsive as other reviews have stated. It’s one of those gyms that will make it really difficult for you to cancel your membership.

Finally checked this spot out this week and it's huge and IMMACULATE. It is 100% worth the price (currently $250/month for over members over 30) if you use all of the amenities, from the Pilates classes to the high-end machines to the rooftop pool and co-working space. Not an ad, just a genuinely impressed person who got a tour and is joining for sure

OBSESSED with Heimat. I have taken every class LA has to offer, and I’m trading them all for Heimat classes/coaches. I arrived at 5:45am the first day of soft opening and have been hooked ever since. Insane hospitality, amazing food and beautiful aesthetics. I’ve already met amazing people at the pool and in the classes. Don’t place equity in the haters…. they are just bored.

Don’t buy into the negative reviews. I am a member and EVERY member I’ve engaged with—which has been plenty as I’m a people person—LOVE going to Heimat. The gym is nice and comfortable and the co-work space has a chic, open ambiance that inspires me to do my best work!

I’ve met interesting people at the pool/restaurant/bar area, and the food at Mother Tongue is healthy and is beautifully plated!

The staff and management are kind, helpful and are doing the best they can to accommodate everyone. They’ve only been open for a few weeks so it’s silly to me that people expect them to operate perfectly.

I say they are doing a fab job, and I am writing this review to thank Heimat for helping me be productive at work while getting healthier! I’m happy here—For the first time in my life I’ve been consistent about hitting the gym! -J'Net

13 days after application sent and not a single call or email yet. After driving by and seeing the trash and tents in the area, not sure I'd want to pay $250 anyway

Took a tour, had a day workout. Hard pass. It's for Instagram selfies and Gym-fluencers. The view onto La Brea from the Cardio area is homeless people and Trash.

John Reed in DTLA is cheaper and has a great concept/ambiance as a gym/club. Also they are opening one in West Hollywood and they have locations all over the world. Oh. People are nice there too and parking is free. Just sayin

This place is trying way too hard… and with the exception of some of the gym equipment (which legitimately is very nice), all of the public spaces are just so cheesy.
The restaurant is bright pink and looks like Cha Cha Matcha. The pool is too small to swim laps in and sits on a roof that has one of the worst views in Los Angeles (overlooking the target parking lot, a power plant, and a concrete factory), and the co-working space is a joke that pumps club music into every corner. There’s no way in hell I’d ever bring a colleague to this place, which is clearly pandering to a tacky LA crowd who thinks anything with valet parking is automatically amazing.
Oh, not to mention there are no other locations where you can have reciprocal membership… possibly one in SF, and one in Texas at some vague time in the future. But not NY or London or even Berlin? Okkkk.
All in all it’s a hard pass from me. Heimat? More like Byemat.

We booked and took a tour with Julian, were impressed with the decor and space and all equipment, and applied online right away. It’s been a week and nobody contacted us to proceed. Are we supposed to beg for membership? Anyways, I read other reviews and now I’m thinking it’s for the best.

After reading the other reviews it cracks me up that LA people are so caught up in what is "Cool" or upset the gym doesn't provide face wash or moisturizer (this is a gym concept club not a Kiehl's). Soho house does a similar under 25 rate as the same with Heimat. There is no ageism, if you can't afford to go here then go somewhere else. There is a crunch on sunset (they charge $60/Month). The other reviews are obviously people who are not members and haven't even given it a try. The gym/space is INCREDIBLE. There is a rooftop pool with amazing staff, the gym equipment makes you target muscles and is very nice. The co-work space is a nice edition to the other amenities the club offers. Funny how Americans especially Los Angeles based people want perfection when they can't even perfect their attitude. This gym is worth the price and is an awesome concept!

If you’re 25 & under membership is $150
If you’re over 25 it’s $250
Parking is an additional $30 a month
Age discriminatory environment where they basically just want young ppl to make the gym look ‘good’

And the place is just so cheesy basic equipment
No thanks.

The concept of HEIMAT is a grand slam. Shocked no one has done this before and the concept will quickly catch on in other major cities. Equinox and Soho house had a one night stand and birthed HEIMAT. Absolutely love this place! The amount of detail that went into creating this space is exceptional and I absolutely applaud the creators behind HEIMAT. Thank you for joining fitness, modern aesthetic, work and a social club all together. I needed this and the world needs this 😎👏. Mad respect for HEIMAT.

This place really just wants to be cool. There are so few photos online that you can’t even tell what it is. I walked in one afternoon to get more information and they immediately told me that they won’t talk to me unless I have submitted an application. Why would I apply to something that I haven’t even seen? Seems like they’re trying to be the next Soho House but without any real clout. Anyway, not a big loss. They’re sandwiched in between what looks like a concrete manufacturing facility and some sketchy looking auto repair places.
