Helix Health & Fitness is a private training studio in Costa Mesa, CA, run out of a fully outfitted 2-car garage. With 15 years of experience, I offer personal, semi-private, and group training in a private, consistent environment—no rotating coaches. I know every client personally and tailor each program to their specific goals, injuries, and needs. I stay up to date with the latest in fitness, health, and nutrition science, and collaborate with physical therapists when needed. Whether you're looking to build strength, improve mobility, or simply stay active, you’ll get expert, attentive coaching every session. Travis has been great! I've been seeing him twice a week after an injury and surgery to gain back strength and mobility. He makes each workout hard, while working with my current limitation (which are improving thanks to his knowledge!) and each workout is fun! Absolutely recommend working with him.

I’ve been struggling for years to stay consistent with a training routine. I dont love gyms but know i need to exercise. Until I started working with Travis. He is very knowledgeable, truly cares about you, designs a program for what you need: if you are up for a hard training day, if you are traveling and dont have equipment, or just if you are low on energy on any given day. He has a relaxed attitude and makes the session fun while still pushing you to improve every day. Highly recommend

Context (bc it matters): I am former division 1 athlete, who turned to marathon running then to hot yoga for a year then to a CrossFit cult and landed in the garage of Helix Health & Fitness when I was 7ish months postpartum. I absolutely love this era of my fitness journey because I am focused on maintaining a healthy lifestyle while consistently building strength to do the things I love which is now hiking long distances and keeping up with a young child. Coach Travis and Danika promote an inclusive exercise environment and attract clients that I enjoy working out with on a weekly basis. There is never any judgement or any b.s. that comes with a typical group fitness experience. Sessions are always tailored and the coaches factor in whole person health (e.g. sleep, gender, nutrition, stress, how your body feels/is functioning) versus throwing a bunch of hard sets at you week over week. Would highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking to sustain and/or increase physical fitness. Also they’re solid people who genuinely care about your wellbeing and want to see you succeed.

Travis is the best. Over the last few years he’s helped me rehab numerous injuries, old and new, with personalized care and exercises curated just for me and my needs. It’s nice having someone designing workouts just for me rather than doing random generic things, that’s one of the many reasons that keep me coming back week after week. The family-friendly environment is a huge bonus as well. Working out is tough and not always fun, but I always leave here feeling better than I did when I arrived.

I can’t say enough good things about Helix Health & Fitness. I have been working out with Travis for about 10 years and my goal when I started was to build and maintain healthy bones and have great energy. At 58 I feel better today than I did in my 30’s. I use to do a variety of workouts running from one studio to another. What I love about working out with Travis is how he mixes it up, from cardio days to heavy lifting, to strength training and mobility days. Another benefit is his knowledge of helping with recovery from old injuries and rebuilding strength around it. I will keep going to Travis for years to come and hopefully well into my 80’s and I know he can get me there!

I have been training with Travis for several years now and can truly say his training style is one of a kind in the best way possible. He is attentive to every detail of your lift/workout and has the ability to cater to your specific needs based on your age and athletic capability. He is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to body movement. My legs have never been stronger and my aches and pains have all gone away (all of which I discussed with Travis ahead of time to focus on). I tore my hamstring back in College and it would often become strained over simple movements which that injury has gone away entirely after training with Travis. He loves to focus on leg and glute exercises forewarning. He’s kept me in great shape with moderate-high intensity workouts all the way to heavy lift workouts (3x per week over past several years). If you’re looking for a personal setting away from the Barry’s or Moxy vibe and want a good workout you should definitely give him a shot!

3 years ago at 60, my husband and I decided we had to do something to keep us healthy and moving as we approached our older age. Travis was the answer to our goals. He’s a personal trainer like no other we have experienced in that he accommodates our physical limitations; explains how the exercises are getting us stronger as well as allowing us to move better; has the ability to pivot when we have a physical setback to get us back to where we were; and, as important, motivates us to want to do better even on days when we’re not feeling it. We also appreciate his flexibility with our schedule and that he does zoom appointments when necessary. We highly recommend him. He’s a wealth of knowledge about the human body and nutrition, and he’s constantly educating himself to be the best trainer he can be. We see and feel the results!

I have been training with Travis for over 8 years now and he is absolutely the best on every level! He truly provides a personalized workout for each individual client.all the while providing a fun and encouraging environment. He is amazing at offering a challenging workout while also being a constant source of motivation. He has helped keep me strong and consistent, especially when I had a lower back injury. Travis went above and beyond catering my workouts to allow my back to heal but also helping me build strength. Travis is a great personal trainer. He caters your workout to what you need whether that be a heavy lifting day or a recovery day that may incorporate more mobility exercises. He also is very adaptable if you can’t make it in person he can do a zoom workout.
