This is such an incredible fitness space - and truly unique, especially in this part of LA. It’s beyond exceptionally clean and well looked after. The equipment is top notch and perfectly maintained, and everything you would want. Their classes and workouts are all super well programmed and put together, and Zach is truly passionate about providing a high level of fitness guidance for members. It’s hard to find a studio that provides high level, small sized (almost personal) training - but Helix does it right. Definitely recommend checking out Helix if you’re looking for quality workouts in a beautiful space.

The quality of Helix and its workouts, instructors, and community is incomparable. Zach (and the other trainers) train you as if you’re an athlete, no matter your starting point. The instruction has changed not only my fitness but also how I see myself. I’ve never felt stronger, more capable, or more supported. The regular benchmarks and tracking keep me focused on my growth and push me to go further every time — it’s incredibly motivating to see tangible progress. Worth every penny. You don’t even know what you’re missing in your life until you sign up.

By far one of the best functional gyms in LA. I’ve tried countless spots using ClassPass, searching for a gym that combines smart programming, education, community, small intimate class and top-tier equipment. This place delivers it all.
Zach, the owner and head coach, is incredibly knowledgeable and methodical in his approach. In just a few weeks of attending classes, I’ve already hit personal records on most of my compound lifts thanks to his cues and guidance.
If you’re results driven and serious about getting fit, this is the place. Don’t waste your money and more importantly your time anywhere else.

In my opinion hands down the best gym in Sherman Oaks and the surrounding area! I was looking for something that was strength and conditioning forward with cardio as well. No fighting over equipment, no changing your workout because it’s too busy. The coaches are TOP NOTCH! Extremely knowledgeable, accommodating to your needs, and amazingly supportive! It is such a welcoming community where everyone roots for everyone’s success! Whether you are going to the gym for the first time, just getting back into a routine, or looking for a level up, HELIX is the place to be! Guaranteed you will not be disappointed

New Years feels like the perfect time to finally write this review.
Helix isn’t just any gym—it’s something special. Zach and Sarah have poured so much heart into it, and you can tell. The classes are small, the workouts are super well-planned, and the progress is real. After six months of sticking with it, I feel the strongest I’ve ever been.
Huge shoutout to the Helix crew for pushing me to be my best. Here’s to crushing it in 2025!

I love this gym. I’ve been a member for nearly 1 year, and have watched myself gain strength and confidence. The programming is excellent — the coaches explain what we’re doing in the exercises and why. You feel yourself get physically and mentally stronger.
The small class environment makes it easy to learn. The coaches see you progress over time and give little pushes so you can see what you’re capable of—and give modifications too. You can get personalized feedback to help you progress. And you’ll never having to wait for a squat rack or bench.
I never thought I’d get back into strength training until I went to Helix. My squat, deadlift, and bench have all improved over the year.

Found helix walking around my neighborhood with my toddler and it’s my favorite gym I’ve been a part of by far! I love the workouts, the trainers are all great, and the sense of community brings it all together to be the perfect gym. Great gym. Do I feel like I want to gate-keep this one? Yes. But for the good of all, I’ll say, best gym I’ve found in this area. The owners Zach and Sarah really care, and the classes are hard but fun. They really take into account any level - beginners to pros. And the overall vibes are chill and supportive. If you’re feeling like not talking to anyone, everyone will respect that, and on the flip side if you’re looking for upbeat vibes, the community is super positive and welcoming. I’ve never met a gym that I didn’t dread going to. This one I look forward to. Highly recommend. I’ve seen drastic changes in my strength and mobility.

If you're on the fence about joining Helix, let this be your sign to do it! Whether you're looking to gain strength, improve your mobility, or generally maintain your health & fitness, Zach and his team at Helix will get you there.
THE GYM
The gym space is large, well-kept and managed, always clean, and well stocked with ample weights and equipment. The bathroom is stocked with toiletries(and tampons/pads for ladies which I really appreciate!) It's in a great location in Sherman Oaks with easy-access parking in the back.
THE TRAINERS
Zach trained most of my classes, and I love his training style. I was super intimidated joining a gym with olympic-style barbells and giant weights, but he made it feel so approachable. The other trainers Nate, Kristine, and Pippa are amazing as well and keep the energy high while ensuring everyone is using proper form.
THE CLASSES
The classes are capped at 10 people which really allows the trainer to be able to focus on each person individually, along with their goals. Zach's programming is intentional. Each class starts with a thorough dynamic warm-up, and ends with a cool down. I've gotten injured at so many different gyms, and while at Helix, I was lifting heavier than I ever have and I never had pain once.
Overall, Helix is such an amazing gym! I'm so glad I found it and made the switch from my old gym.

Just had an amazing workout at Helix. The workout is scalable, important for someone like me who plateaus with traditional workout classes. Zach, the owner/founder, is incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, critical for those of us who have injuries to work around. Exactly the gym we need here in Sherman Oaks/Studio City!

A lot of similar movements to a lot Crossfit but without a lot of the issues that come with full on cross fit.
