⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I absolutely love Heyday!
I joined this gym in early July after moving to San Pedro, and in just a few weeks, I feel like the best version of myself. I was never the type to stay consistent with workouts, but the coaches and community here completely changed that for me.

The coaches take the time to give individual feedback in every class, which keeps me motivated and pushes me to do my best. The workouts are always varied and fun, so I never get bored, and I’ve learned so much in such a short time. On top of that, I’ve been able to meet some truly great people who make the classes even more enjoyable.

I’ve never been an early bird, but now I actually look forward to my morning sessions. Starting my day at the gym not only energizes me, but seeing my body change so quickly has been the best motivation to keep coming back.

This gym has become such a positive part of my life. I feel supported, challenged, and inspired every time I walk in. Highly recommend to anyone looking for more than just a workout—it’s a whole community.

I had a nagging shoulder injury for months. I finally decided to work one on one with Eddie. He is incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. He quickly was able able to identify the root of my shoulder issue and created a personalized plan to strengthen and rehab it. After just a few sessions, I noticed a huge improvement! Now I am 99% pain free thanks to him!
Beyond the injury recovery, the gym itself is fantastic-clean, welcoming and well equipped. The longevity of the gym speaks for itself! Thank you Eddie and team!

I started going to Heyday CrossFit back in April after doing CrossFit for about 3 years. I was looking to mix things up and add some variety to my training. I’ve really loved the experience so far. The coaches are great! Super supportive, attentive, and genuinely care about helping you move well and avoid injuries.

The community has also been a huge plus. It’s a welcoming, down-to-earth environment that makes showing up feel good, not like a chore. I mostly stick to the CrossFit programming, which I enjoy, but I’m looking forward to trying out some of the other classes and the Sculpt series soon.

The equipment is solid, and what I appreciate most is the emphasis on listening to your body and training smart—not just pushing for the sake of it.

All in all, Heyday has been a great addition to my routine. :D

Are you looking for gains or community? Too bad, you're getting BOTH. Not to sound cliché, but I thought I was a "solo" kind of gym guy. Group classes were not for me. I've trained since high school, knew what I was doing, was in solid shape, so who needs a coach, right? Wrong. I started at Heyday 3 months ago and in that span my lifts have shot up, my lower back and neck pain are virtually gone, I've been pushed to do more cardio than the prior three years combined, and I have a squad I play pickleball with every Friday afternoon (more on that in a sec). Let me be clear, I still think Crossfit is weird, but it's the kind of weird that kicks your butt, makes you stronger and more flexible, and makes your booty very pinchable (that last part is from my wife). Beyond that, the community that Heyday has formed is truly something special. By the end of your trial week, you'll be greeting people like old friends, cheering and being cheered on to push yourself just a little further. I'm 32, and now have people I consider friends from ages 22 to 70. Hell, if you're like me, you'll be meeting up for beers or heading to play pickleball with other members because, turns out, people who prioritize fitness tend to have the energy and desire to do stuff. So to wrap this up, if you're even a little curious about CrossFit, or just looking for a great workout, or even just craving a bit more community in your life, take them up on the Trial Week. You wont regret it. See you at 7am.

Dropped in before jumping on a cruise. Eddie and his staff were super accommodating as I dropped in wanting to do 25.3 open workout. Eddie and Jasmine moved things around for me and even modified one of their classes to judge me in the corner. This is what CrossFit is all about. Awesome community, awesome owners, I highly recommend HeyDay Fitness!

Is there such a thing as a perfect gym? I don't think I ever considered this before. I've been to a few decent ones over the years, but I never stuck around for long. I've always liked group classes, but I tend to get bored with them after a while and I usually reach a plateau that turns into a big factor in whether or not I'm motivated to continue going. I've never done CrossFit before at all and I've only dabbled in lifting weights here and there. Both have been intimidating as someone with no training or experience with it, especially as a woman. I figured those things just weren't for me. I came in extremely skeptical to say the least. Let me just say that I fell in love with this gym almost immediately. I've been going consistently over the past 6 months and I've seen progress in my fitness that I've never seen before. Cardio, strength and flexibility are at the highest they've been maybe ever. I'm in my mid 30s and if you told me 6 months ago that I could do the things I'm doing now, I would not believe it. My muscle mass, endurance and stamina have all increased. Every single workout is different. The programming is thoughtful and fun. The trainers are all incredibly kind and patient. They manage to provide individual attention in every class and keep track of your progress to guide you through your journey. I've made a lot of new friends there as well. As an introvert, this is the last thing I expected. It's a special place and I look forward to going everyday.

WOW! This gym rocks! I can't say enough about Coach/Owner Ed McKenna...the guy is a great coach and motivator who has built a stellar gym with a kick ass coaching staff! The community vibe is great here, members are very welcoming and it is extremely easy fitting right in to the community that exists inside the doors of Heyday. I cant wait till I am back in town for work again so I can get a pump with the crew at Heyday, this will definitely be my go to gym in the San Pedro/Long Beach area. Thanks again to all of the staff for being so welcoming and professional.

Heyday is an incredible place for anyone looking to enhance their lives, regardless of their fitness level. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced cross-fitter, you'll find yourself surrounded by supportive people in a welcoming environment. The coaches are dedicated to helping and encouraging you to achieve your goals, and personally, I loved having a trainer guide every move.

Walking through the gym doors at 36 years old for the first time in my life was a big step, and I fell in love with the experience from my very first class. I've been coming back every single day since then, and I even managed to convince my husband to join the gym!

Highly recommend...

I hate working out - no really, but I like coming to Heyday. Why - because no one makes you feel bad if you bench press 10 or 100lbs. Folks of all ages are in there and wearing sweats to lululemon. You leave sweaty and tired but feeling stronger and frankly if you are lucky enough to have Masha as your trainer then you might start to feel like a Super Hero. She took a perimenopausal woman who was always tired and could not do more than 5 push ups and made her realize she was much stronger than she thought. I have a long way to go but I know I will get there coming to Heyday. Plus you are helping a local business. This is from a former Orange Theory lady who still loves her LB/Lakewood OT team but wants to go strong or go home (okay may be just look fit and feel fit).

My wife and I have been members of Heyday for nearly a year. Throughout our time we have had a fantastic experience. All the trainers and fellow gym members have been wonderful and inviting. The class schedules are incredible and the equipment is top notch. What we enjoyed most of all was the community that was built and the positivity and welcome environment that is created. This quality comes from all the employees and especially the owners Eddie and Ricky. Masha was our first trainer and was an incredibly motivating and supportive voice.

I've been a member of Heyday for about 15 years, and it has truly transformed my fitness journey. The coaches here are phenomenal motivators, always pushing me to do my best and providing the perfect cues to improve my technique or get through a tough challenge. The external accountability they provide has been key for me—just knowing that they’ll check in if I miss a couple of weeks is incredibly encouraging.

One of the best aspects of Heyday is how easy they make it to work out. The only decision I need to make is to walk through the door; from there, they guide me through everything. Each session is just an hour, including a 15-20 minute warmup, making it a manageable and efficient part of my day.

The social environment at Heyday is fantastic. Everyone is incredibly supportive, cheering on even the slowest participants (often me, especially when endurance is involved). The sense of community and encouragement is unmatched.

I used to think that 24-hour gyms would work for me since I could go anytime, but in reality, I rarely went. The scheduled sessions at Heyday are a precious commodity—you have to show up, or you miss out. This structure has been crucial in keeping me consistent with my workouts.

For those interested in private coaching or a combination of private and group sessions, Heyday is absolutely the right place. The personalized attention and tailored approach to fitness make it an exceptional experience.

I can't recommend Heyday enough. If you're looking for a gym where the coaches genuinely care, the community is supportive, and the structure keeps you accountable, this is the place to be.

I hated working out, and doing anything related to gym. I started 4 years ago and I am glad that I found this gym. I now enjoy going. I have done the personal training, for most of the 4 years. The personal trainers are amazing, they are knowledgeable and accommodating. I have never felt unsafe or injured in the whole 4 years. The knowledge of the staff is on par with a physical trainer, they can help you become more mobile no matter the issue. I have seen many people improve their life here, as well as my self, I will continue working out here as long as I can.

I discovered Heyday Elite CrossFit after needing a new gym when I got sent home from my old one for being a minute late. I'd been faithful to them for two years, showing up daily in the same spot. But feeling like just a number and worthless when they sent me packing for being tardy messed with my head, so I had to move on. I couldn't support it. It was tough saying goodbye to my gym and gym buddies of over two years.

For 30 days straight, I went gym challenge trying to find a new home, but struck out at so many places and couldn't find the right fit. Then, on the 30th day, I stumbled upon Heyday Elite CrossFit. They offered a 7-day trial, which no one else did. When I walked in, I was greeted right away. I liked that the gym was clean, had showers, and provided spray to clean the equipment. Everyone wiped down their gear, which was important to me.

The people who work out there are fantastic, and the vibe is welcoming, with families and kids welcome too. I love seeing kids hanging from the equipment and giving high fives as they come in. The gym is affordable, and payments are easy to make.

It's great to see the strong moms and the guys without shirts. Everyone feeds off each other's energy and pushes each other to keep pushing. My proudest moment was doing one toes-to-bar on my one-year anniversary. It took me the whole year, but I was so so so proud in that moment, I couldn't believe it. Call shocked myself. 🤪 I hit another PR last week when did a clean and jerk at a 110 pounds. Again another moment where I surprised myself it just happened. I couldn't explain it it just happened. 🤣

On my one-year gym anniversary, I surprised the owner with balloons to celebrate because, let's face it, I'm probably the goofiest one there! But jokes aside, the coaches at Heyday Elite CrossFit are absolutely amazing. They break down exercises in a way that's easy to understand, and they always find a way to make workouts enjoyable. Whether it's through a fun warm-up game or trying out new and challenging movements, every session is different and exciting. Unlike typical CrossFit gyms, Heyday Elite offers a variety of unique exercises that keep things interesting. It's always a thrill to walk in and see what's on the whiteboard for the day!

What's really cool is that if you miss a few days, the owner will give you a call to check in. It shows that you're not just a number here, you're a person and you matter. The workouts are tough, and even after a year, my body still aches, but I've learned new things and every day is something different.

Heyday Elite CrossFit is all about hard work, family, and feeling welcome without judgment. I've found my fit family here, and I'm never leaving! 😊

HeyDay Elite Fitness & CrossFit is by far the best gym experience I’ve had. I had the chance to join while working temporarily out in San Pedro and loved every second. The team here and other members really go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. HeyDay really nails it at creating a sense of community among its members. Also, the workouts are incredible! This gym was my first experience with CrossFit and I am hooked. Great sessions every time that left me feeling stronger and pushed to reach my fitness goals. I also had the chance to take several personal training classes and greatly appreciated having sessions made specifically for my fitness needs. I look forward to the next time I am in San Pedro for work so that I can sign up again!

STARS+++ Love Heyday and all the trainers! Eddie and Ricky make sure that the workouts here are challenging but SAFE for ALL! I’m a middle aged female professional and really enjoy the sense of community the gym builds; they go above and beyond just workouts- BBQs, family events, holiday get togethers, etc. Heyday was my first CrossFit experience —I never thought I could do it! Thanks to Heyday not only am I doing it but I am reaching milestones on weight / fat loss, push-ups, pull-ups, etc. I love the variety of workouts and have been able to achieve full body strength and definition! Their workouts even cured my frozen shoulder! They offer nutritional coaching, goal setting and personal 1-1 coaching as well as Olympic weight lifting! I think another unique feature that I LOVE about Heyday is the variety of ages—high schoolers ; gym rats, and retirees all fit in and we all encourage each other right where we are at! Saturday workouts are my favorite because you are with a partner (another great community builder)! There’s so much more —come check them out in their retro cool facility in the heart of downtown San Pedro!

Wow!!!! I was looking for a CrossFit type facility I could pop in and do a few morning workouts while on business/vacay, and found Heyday. I called a few days prior, and Kate sent over a simple email/form that was super easy to complete - and I was good to go - and no charge?! (I picked up a sweatshirt). As soon as I walked up, very warmly welcomed by the 0700 crew! Sully, the 2 Scot’s, Aaron, everyone was awesome. I went 3 days in a row. I think it was Eddie that showed me a new stretch, truly a helpful, genuinely nice guy. There was not a single person here that made me feel like I wasn’t at home. I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy(Physical Therapist) and I have been training one on one with Eddie McKenna for over 6months. I started working with him because I wanted to learn how to do olympic lifts with a trained specialist. I also wanted to incorporate Barbell lifting into my private outpatient clinic here locally in San Pedro. I have always been an athlete, but olympic lifting was one thing I never learned and I wanted to learn so I could change that for the Female athletes I work with. Eddie is AMAZING. He is such a highly skilled coach, tough but also kind and caring. He pushes you to limits and places you don’t think you have in you. He can work with any level of athlete or he can turn you into one. We have also worked together to get some of his clients and my patients back to lifting after injuries. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Eddie as a 1-1 Strength Coach, but also HeyDay in general as a place to train and work out in small groups and classes. Everyone is so friendly and fun to be around. Try it out! You won’t be disappointed.

I needed a change from the daily cupcake workouts at the gym. Several buddies had been doing crossfit at Heyday and they raved about it. I believed it was a fad at first but the same friends stuck with it and continued to improve their fitness, while enjoying the workouts. After some hesitation, I took the plunge almost 2 years ago and have truly enjoyed the overall benefits. Eddie and Ricky (owners) are solid people that live in the community and genuinely care about the people they train. I am a bigger, slower guy nearing fifty that doesn't need any injuries. These guys push you hard but also recognize the importance of not pushing you to the point of injury. The group concept (usually 4 to 10 in a class) helps to motivate and hold you accountable. The workouts are thoughtful and well planned out, which takes the thinking out of it for me. That part I really enjoy. I also know I will arrive at the gym and get a great workout for the 60 minutes that I am there. I highly recommend Heyday if you are looking for a change, would like to step up the intensity of your daily workouts and improve your overall fitness.
