I want to love this place - it has great music and potential! I've been to this studio five times. The quality of instruction has been a consistent issue. I've had four different instructors, and most have been poor at both explaining and demonstrating exercises. There is a noticeable lack of form correction, which is crucial for safety and effectiveness in pilates. I've seen other clients looking around confused throughout class, and I often feel lost myself. My most recent class was particularly disappointing, as the instructor ate a snack throughout the session and even gave instructions while sitting at the front desk and eating. For the price, I expect and need more hands-on guidance. With better instruction, this studio could be amazing

Love the studio, great vibe and location! I have been a few times. Only feedback -- I wish the instructors would demonstrate the moves instead of just saying them. More instruction and demos would help, often in class I am confused (as well as others) and looking around to make sure we are doing what the instructor is describing so it would be great if they demo'd all moves

From the moment I walked into Hills & Heights, I felt genuinely welcomed—not just into a studio, but into a thoughtfully curated community rooted in wellness, strength, and support. As a first-time attendee, I was admittedly apprehensive, but that quickly transformed into motivation and confidence thanks to the outstanding guidance of Instructor Symone.

Symone is, in every sense, a phenomenal instructor. She greeted me with warmth and professionalism, took the time to orient me to the machine with clarity, and ensured I felt both capable and comfortable. Her instruction was clear, patient, and grounded. She skillfully translated technical movement cues into layman’s terms without compromising precision, and her positive reinforcement was both encouraging and graceful—never performative, always empowering. Her charisma, calm presence, and instructional excellence made a lasting impression.

The Hills & Heights facility is equally remarkable—clean, spacious, fully equipped, easily accessible, and thoughtfully accommodating. Every detail of the environment contributes to a sense of ease and intentionality.

Equally inspiring were my fellow classmates. Their energy was phenomenal—supportive, kind, and uplifting. The collective spirit in the room created an atmosphere that made even the most challenging moments feel collaborative and empowering.

The class itself was intense and deeply engaging, as expected from an “All Levels” session. I left feeling physically exhausted but profoundly accomplished. It was a powerful reminder of my own capability.

In short, the entire experience felt like walking into a big, warm hug. I left feeling stronger, more centered, and incredibly grateful. I will most certainly be back—and I look forward to bringing friends and family along to experience the magic of Hills & Heights and the brilliance of Symone.

I’ve tried every Pilates studio in LA so you don’t have to! Hills and Heights is by far the best all-around: world-class instructors, upbeat playlists, quality reformers + equipment, and supportive energy from everyone who enters the space. I’m so grateful to have found this studio!

This class incredibly supportive, super structured and informative. Fantastic for beginners and return Pilates enthusiast. I also love the kind of reformers they have. It’s incredible because it can turn double handles into the bar without much modification. Aleeah was incredible!

My 1st class was great! Our instructor Brett was amazing! The atmosphere was perfect and the playlist was top notch! Although I've never taken a pilates class, I felt at home. The moves were a bit challenging but Brett was very encouraging. Thank you for providing this space. I will be back!

3 months ago I started attending classes at Hill & Heights, and it has been the best decision I have ever made in my fitness journey. The instructors are encouraging and open to people of all levels, (as a pilates novice, I took a sigh of relief) - they made me feel right at home. I have had the pleasure of taking classes with instructors; Lauren, Symone, Brett, and Brandy- they are all fabulous & truly bring the best out of each one of us in class. I cannot wait to continue taking classes in the New Year at Hill & Heights and grow my strength & community at this studio.

I joined Hills & Heights Pilates in January 2024, completely new to reformer Pilates, and let me tell you—it’s been a game-changer! 💪🏾 This Black female-owned boutique studio is a gem in South Los Angeles, creating a warm, inclusive, and empowering space for people of all body types and fitness levels. 🙌🏾

The instructors are incredible—skilled, informed, and genuinely supportive, making every class feel approachable yet challenging. The 50-minute sessions fly by thanks to the upbeat music 🎶 that keeps the energy high and the vibes positive. The studio itself is beautifully intimate, with only nine participants per class, so you always feel seen and cared for. It's spotless, inviting, and thoughtfully designed to keep you comfortable and focused.

Another huge bonus? Classes always start on time ⏰, and in my entire year of attending, there hasn’t been a single cancellation. That consistency has been so refreshing and helped me stay committed to my fitness goals.

Having this vibrant fitness community in West Adams is a true blessing. If you're looking for a supportive space to grow stronger, more confident, and connected, this is it! 💖

like that they practice trauma informed routines as well, asking if the students mind touch correction and letting them know when they are walking through the reformers. A+.

I have taken 6 out of the 7 current instructors. There was one instructor that left (not included in this count). I took her class the most and I was able to continue on at the studio and not feel like the best instructor was gone. I am able to fall in any class and still get a good quality workout. They are all great and they all offer a different spin to their class. Slow burns, straight out the gate burns and wake up the next day trying to figure out why you can’t move. I’m never going anywhere else lol.

The instruction they call out is easily understood, they will help as needed, they have modifications for all levels and they see you! It is a no judgement zone and even the people in class will give you encouraging words. I also love taking pictures in the mirrors lol. If you see me in there, don't be weird, say hi.

PRISTINE STUDIO, EVEN BETTER TRAINERS!

I have tried them all via Class Pass and other apps, and I absolutely love this Pilates studio the best because the workouts change often enough, the place is not gimmicky, and a lot of my mates in class have come long enough to be level 3s & 4s so I feel encouraged I can do it too.

This area is fast growing and I enjoy driving 1-2 min to get a bite or a sip after.

Brett is my favorite trainer so far. Very hospitable & lovingly tough. I’m comfortable with his adjustments & I love his music taste.

If you’re looking for a really good workout in a positive and supportive environment this is definitely the place!

I was new to reformer Pilates when I first joined Hills & Heights and very nervous about going but I quickly realized I shouldn’t have worried. Everyone here is very welcoming. The classes are extremely challenging but I’ve never been made to feel bad when asking for a modification. Each instructor has their own style so the classes all feel challenging in different ways. Most importantly I feel stronger every time I leave the studio.

I love this new Pilates studio!! I highly recommend anyone to sign up and take classes. The classes are difficult but level down modifications are normalized so I didn’t feel bad when I needed to make an adjustment to the springs. The instructors are so nice, holistic, empowering, encouraging, and zen. They move through the exercises on the machines really quickly and seamlessly. It’s a power workout! The studio is big and airy, clean and nice, with a high ceiling. I really think if you’re curious about trying reformer Pilates or if you’ve been practicing reformer Pilates for years and are advanced, you will love working out at the Hills & Heights studio.

Definitely one of the most challenging reformer pilates classes I've ever taken but worth it! That being said, I've taken all of the instructors and each of them are wonderful and kind. Plus, I feel so so accomplished after. I'm so excited that this studio exists, welcome to the neighborhood! If I can give one tip to the studio, please please please consider having a level one or beginner class :)
