I was only 4 minutes late and they locked the doors. I was charged a $17 cancellation fee as if I hadn't showed. The instructor could clearly see me and didn't unlock the door.

Booked through classpass only for there to be no available parking, got yelled at by other shop owners when I tried to park in a non-HIP designated spot, no street parking available as well. Charged for missed reservation even though I was there with plenty of time, they just don’t warn you about the terrible parking situation. Won’t be booking again.

I only have good things to say about this studio -- at first i was intimidated by the xl/reformer machine, as i was only familiar with mat pilates for the longest. however, this studio is absolutely amazing, all the instructors are so welcoming and encouraging! i've been going here for months and seen such improvements in my body! i absolutely love taking classes with Daisha and Sonya <3 they're the best.

Will never waste my time booking with this place again. Booked through class pass , have been here multiple times . This was my second time being late (4 minutes ) to Madison’s class. She was unempathetic and unhelpful. Did not allow me to join the class , even though it wasn’t my first class. What kind of fitness studio has no idea or concept of grace ? Save your time and energy and don’t book here

I've done 3 beginner classes here so far, both Daisha and Sonya were amazing instructors and very helpful for a true beginner. The environment here is great, I felt very comfortable as a plus sized person. The workouts are fun, but will have you sweating and your legs shaking. I look forward to my next class.

I had a very disappointing experience at HIP Pilates recently. I arrived just two minutes after 6 PM, and although I could see the instructor, Alexis Ramir, inside, she refused to open the door. I was left standing outside in the cold, which was both unnecessary and unkind.
What’s frustrating is that I’ve seen other instructors at HIP Pilates accommodate clients who arrive 5-10 minutes late without any issue, which makes this situation feel even more unreasonable. To make matters worse, there’s no clearly stated policy regarding a grace period for late arrivals. I believe a 2-5 minute delay should be considered completely acceptable, especially when circumstances are beyond a client’s control.
Alexis’ behavior was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. Given the otherwise positive experiences I’ve had at this studio, her attitude was a stark and unpleasant contrast. Unfortunately, this experience left such a negative impression that I feel compelled to leave this review.
I’m giving a 1-star rating solely because of her lack of professionalism and courtesy. I sincerely hope the management addresses this behavior to ensure future clients aren’t treated this way.

I like this place a lot. The classes are very challenging and intense as well as a great combo of cardio and Pilates which delivers way more than your average class.
Word of warning is that they have a VERY strict no late rule, their rules in general are strict in the sense that they are inflexible about them, but they aren't unreasonable scammy or designed to screw you over. It's on their site and class pass there is a note that says read it and if you don't that's on you. Which, hey, technically there is nothing wrong with that. Gyms that go out of their way to place those rules everywhere are going the extra mile, it's nice that they do that as it makes it more convenient but gyms that don't aren't exactly in the wrong.
But their biggest rule is lateness; if you're late & class has started you ain't getting in. So if you're going to be late even by 10 mins it's better to just turn around and go home.
Personally I'm ok with this, even though it's come back to bite me, but I'm someone who is privately annoyed when a teacher starts class 10-15mins as they wait for everyone to arrive so now I'm late to my next thing because the teacher waited or class had to stop while they get the late comers up to speed.
Only thing I'll concede that is unfair is their 5 minute rule; TECHNICALLY you can be up to minutes late. But the reality is that that just means a teacher MIGHT let you in if they feel like it. My problem is that if want to say absolutely no late comers I'm totally cool with that, but if you say you can be 5mins late then I think you should honor it.
Complaining is pointless as they refuse to be held hostage by the threat of bad Yelp reviews but full disclosure I low-key kind of respect that.
That being said, I honestly don't think any of this this is done to scam or get every cent from you. I think they just want you to be on time and follow their rules which are pretty reasonable.
So to sum it up if you come on time & aren't late you'll have a great time if you are late you're going to have a great time like you'll have it any other gym, but if you are late yeah you might have a bad time.
I wish they would get towels though...

I’ve been to a lot of lagree/pilates studios across LA and many other cities, and this is my favorite. I love that they combine sprints with Pilates. Sonya is my absolute favorite - I read some of the negative reviews and couldn’t believe it as my experience with her has always been positive. Seems like some people just don’t follow the rules and want to be given an exception and then write negative reviews. She’s a great teacher - I also really like Britni.

The owner is not very nice and quite standoffish. (Apparently, she has a reputation for this.) Not worth giving my money to her. Workout is fine, but you'll get way better results at a Lagree studio.
Edit: This is interesing. Gaslighting your client? Our instructor (my friend and I were both put off by her) was Sonya, the owner. I guess it says all you need to know about this business that they are paranoid about competitors. Look at the replies to negative reviews, below. Why not try to improve service or win back customers rather than insult them and put them on the defensive?

This was my second time visiting this studio. Sonya took the time to help me understand the treadmill to feel comfortable and confident on it. The combo class was a killer (in the best way possible) don’t forget a sweat towel! Def will be back!

Be wary of financial scam! I was late for the 11:00 am intro class for 7 minutes (my first and only class reserved) and wasn't allowed in. Their website has a promotion stating that the first class for new members is $11. I signed up with the promotion. There were three (3) empty machines in the room, one taken by instructor. My credit card was charged for no-show/late cancellation EXTRA FEE $22 IN ADDITIION to the payment of $11 for the class and they charged my card twice for their fraud fees.
No wonder they don't have a phone number on their website
I would not recommend this studio to anyone.Tthe owner/manager Sonia googled me and left fake reviews for one of my businesses- preschool in retaliation for this negative review, instead of apologizing and resolving. Shame on you. It is so unprofessional.

In response to the delusional person replying to my honest review. Hopefully you may see the light one day and not lie despicably like you have about how you manage your facility. For one, I only used the ripped socks, because I was forced to in order to participate in the class I paid for, spent gas and opened time for. I was nice not to interrupt you while you were on your headset, so as not to ruin the class for fellow students that have nothing to do with your bad behavior. I did not sweat in those nasty socks, with frayes all over them. fYI, sweating has nothing to do with whether the class is good or not. It is not a beginner class as you do not explain the movements properly. You should work on that and actually care to improve. You're more concerned with stealing from people than teaching properly. I wrote this review, because not only did you scam me into buying defective socks, but you went too far when you stole my digital wallet info against my consent, signed me up for a monthly subscription for something I never signed up for- that is completely illegal. Posting private footage of someone without someone’s consent is also illegal. You are projecting who you are in your response, an entitled person that thinks you can walk all over people and intimidate them. Your response proves my point. You are selfish and have no compassion for anyone, and put yourself first at the cost of everyone else. That mentality will certainly teach you lesson or two about humility one day!

This is by far the worst place I’ve ever been to. It’s a greedy, yuppie vibe in there. The instructor forced me to buy a defective 25 dollar pair of socks that had rips and frayes tucked in the slip in order to take her class, which was poorly taught. I asked to return them immediately once I opened the package and she refused to. She acted like giving me a dollar off a pair of socks she selected to force me to buy, without telling me were defective, was a favor to me. Also, you have to know what you’re doing to do her work out or you will get injured and discouraged as the instructor does not cue properly. Some people are not meant to teach and just spew out exercises, instead of make sure you understand and do them correctly. She is one of these bad instructors. To top it off she is a scammer. She stole my digital wallet data and charged a recurring subscription I had to call my bank and cancel today. Straight criminal. There are amazing Pilates studios out there with people that actually care to help you get strong and supple. This place is just owned by a money hungry and arrogant, hysterical woman trying to intimidate you, off the basis that she studied ballet. You have been forewarned.

Awesome new pilates studio with an amazing twist of having curved treadmills. The treadmills before the class are really great and a perfect intense warmup/exercise right before the pilates session. The machines are awesome and the instructors are great. Easy parking is a big plus! I've been to many pilates studios over the years and this place will give you an incredible workout. Do yourself a favor and give it a try, you'll want to keep going!

The best pilates workout I’ve been to in LA. The studio is extremely clean and all the equipment is super nice. I love the Tread+Reformer classes with Sonya. It feels like a very complete workout and I am already feeling my improvements. If there are movements that I can’t do, Sonya is always there to help with modifications or corrections to my form🙌🏼

As someone who prides themselves on their fitness, participating in sports, and hitting the gym almost daily, I was intrigued but not prepared for what awaited me in this high-intensity Pilates class. To say it was merely a workout would be a serious understatement!
From the get-go, the class tested me physically and mentally. The pace was relentless and the intensity unlike my regular training. The aftermath was a mix of exhaustion and exhilaration. No, I take that back. It was mainly exhaustion. I walked out of the class with wobbly legs and a newfound respect for Pilates as a discipline.
For those who consider themselves in top shape and are looking for a workout that will truly test your limits and then some, I cannot recommend this high-intensity Pilates class enough!

I've been going to H.I.P. for the past few weeks and I love it! I especially love the tread + pilates classes. I'm always looking for a challenging workout and this is it! The tread+pilates classes are 15 minutes of intervals on a treadmill and then 45 minutes of reformer pilates. The studio just opened so all the equipment is state of the art and new. I've tried a class with all four of the current instructors and they are all AMAZING. They are challenging but also super encouraging, positive and nice! I highly recommend this studio!
