I took a Sunday evening Sculpt class that was sweaty, challenging, and fun! It was a great workout that kept me moving. The facility is beautiful as well, and the locker rooms were clean. I’ll definitely be back!

TLDR: Mo F. is a bad instructor who uses negative-encouragement and shame. His practice is not yogic and he is unkind.
I've taken many hot yoga classes and many exercise classes, and the sculpt class taught by Mo F., whose instagram handle is mfthebrand, is by far the WORST. This instructors main tool for motivation is guilt-tripping and shaming. In his practice Mo has LOST the point of view that Yoga is a continuous process of self-improvement and self-acceptance, meeting yourself where you are without shame or judgement and aspiring to do your best.
It's been years since I've done an intense hot yoga class, and my body needed time to readjust to the intense heat. Instead of being encouraged to take the time I need to catch my breath and rest, the instructor tried to motivate me through shame. His looks, expressions, and language were shady. There is a perceivable difference between positive and negative encouragement, and Mo seems to prefer the negative.
After class he mentioned to another patron that "he didn't even try", presumably because I appear fit and he believes I should have done more. You never know what is going on with someone medically or when someone is having a bad day. In my experience, there is always space for that in yogic practice even at the most intense level, but unfortunately that is not the case with this instructor.
I didn't take his class because I wanted something easy, I took his class because I wanted to push myself, but instead of being encouraged the instructor tried to shame me. On the positive side, the class is well structured. His journey through each movement is conducive to improve cardio-vascular endurance, muscular endurance, and flexibility. He is very high energy and competent. The only problem is his unyogic attitude. I asked one of the young women at the front desk if that class is reflective of the point-of-view of the studio, and she said yes, so it feels appropriate to extrapolate the experience of this class to the culture of the studio.
Again, this studio and instructor may be a good fit for people who are just interested in fitness, and work well with guilt-tripping, but if you're looking for something yogic, this is not a good fit.

I love the Hot 8 Hollywood location, but unfortunately, I am on a membership pause as I am trying to decide if I want to cancel my membership. I have been taking classes for a year and a half at this location. I've noticed that under new management, this studio has gone downhill. Cockroaches in the bathroom, the heat is always broken, out of shower gel, tampons, and the manager is never there to help or assist. I don't get why it has changed so much, but it feels like the new management doesn't care about the studio or give it any love. Many of the teachers are being underpaid, which they are what makes this studio run. I love taking classes here, but it's really going downhill and seems to be getting worse. Hot 8, please fix this before you lose even more clients.

5 stars for class and instructors always no complaints here. But as a drop in I felt a little uncomfortable the other day when I came in for class. I understand the business wants to make money but the constant asking me to get a membership is annoying and comes off very "phony". As front desk was about to give me their "shpeal" I told her no I'm good and she still kept pressuring that. I am not a social person and I was sitting outside waiting for class and the manager again was pressuring me to join a membership and get a class pack saying it would save me money. Money isn't an issue for me so that is why I like to do drop ins as I like to go to different studios. Just please work on making clients not feel uncomfortable or pressured!

Was really excited when this studio opened near me as the BH location can be a bit of a drive, however very disappointed at the class offerings and schedule at this studio. They have two or three studio yet no HPF or 26x2 in the am is offered. This is a location where most of the members have real jobs and schedules so most can’t get dripping wet in the middle of the day. Hot yoga is a different commitment than going for a lunch walk or Pilates class. It requires showering and hair wash so it would be ideal to offer these classes 5, 6 or 7am so that people can be good to go on with their day by 8am or in the evening would great. Most hot yoga people want to take HPF or 26x2 not barre or sculpt. Read the room hot8.

Quite possibly the worst experience I've ever had at a yoga studio. First it began with the parking garage, which was stressful to navigate, and the staff at the front saw I was doing a welcome week so they pushed me to buy a membership when all I wanted to do was check in. Then the class started, and it went downhill from there.
The class I attended, a yin class, was rather boring and uneventful and did nothing for me, so after the majority of it was over I didn't want to stay. When I tried to leave, however, the teacher got in my way and told me that I couldn't leave because everyone was laying down in savasana. EXCUSE ME?! I was barely making any noise, and the music was turned up so loud (another problem I had with this class) I doubt anyone would have heard me leave. Her lecturing me about why I "couldn't" leave was louder than anything I would have done to discreetly tiptoe out, which is what I ended up doing, regardless of what she said, but then she decided to follow me out in the hall and chastise me, calling me ma'am the whole time because she never bothered to learn my name. I don't know what kind of yoga teacher does this, tries to hold a person hostage in a class they don't want to be in, but I'll tell you, no one in this studio has any idea what yoga is really about.

absolutely love the classes and teachers but hate the schedule. actually BEGGING for an HPS or Power class before 9am. It’s always sculpt back to back in the early mornings and the only available power/hpf (the classes that actually feel like yoga) are at like 7:15pm 😪 seriously considering cancelling the $200+ a month unlimited membership that i’ve barely gotten to use

Hot 8 yoga, la brea, is a fantastic studio. Roberto and Sophia are my favorite regular teachers and they do such a fantastic job and truly care about their work. They are so consistent. The entire staff is consistently kind which is really, seriously something to be grateful for. Give them all a raise. NOW! lol. Would you consider getting the cans of coconut waters like koreatown has? The plastic coconut water is not the vibe 😣

My mom, who is a certified yoga instructor, came to visit me from abroad for a month and was really excited to try a hot yoga class at Hot 8 Yoga (1619 N La Brea Ave). When she arrived at the studio and tried to sign up for the Welcome Week SoCal offer, she was denied and told that it’s only available to locals. Nowhere on the website is this restriction mentioned.
This is incredibly disappointing — my mom was really upset. She came all the way to the U.S. and was looking forward to this experience. I honestly expected better from a yoga studio of this caliber. It’s not just misleading, it’s disrespectful.

I love this studio for SO many reasons.
1. The classes are amazing, challenging and exciting
2. The instructors are kind, inclusive and compassionate (and talented)
3. The other clients are helpful
4. The front desk staff. I left a priceless necklace on the floor and came back 4 hours later to it kept safe for me in an envelope.
And also important, giving my confidence back after a freak accident and back surgery.
THANK YOU!

So far my instructors have been Mo and Josiah, both are incredibly thorough, encouraging, knowledgeable and supportive. I truly feel like I’m on the precipice of a life changing decision. Hot8 delivers consistently strong classes across Los Angeles. It’s easy to find a studio that works for your schedule—but the Hollywood and Sherman Oaks locations are especially well-run…great staff, friendly / helpful.
The front desk staff is always warm, upbeat, and on it—happy to walk you through a class type, help with gear, or just offer a friendly welcome back. The teachers are a huge part of what makes this place work so well: trained, professional, and really tuned into the room.
Shoutout to three standout instructors: Blake, whose classes are precision-meets-power with perfect pacing; Marie K, who somehow delivers both intensity and groundedness in equal measure; and Yvette, who has a way of making every student feel like they belong on the mat, no matter their level.
Classes range from relaxing deep stretch to high-intensity power flow, and you always leave sweatier, lighter, and more centered. Whether you’re looking to deepen your practice or just find some peace in a chaotic city, Hot 8 is a reliable go-to.

I signed up for the 7-day trial to see if yoga would help me recover from an injury on the suggestion of my Doctor. Day 1 was great—the staff was welcoming, I was shown around, and told that mats and towels were included with the trial. The class was excellent.
On Day 2, however, a different front desk staff member greeted me with an aggressive sales pitch. She made it sound like I couldn’t take the class unless I committed to a membership immediately, and when I asked if I could take the class and decide later she seemed furious and tried to charge me $18 for mat and towel rentals—items I was told were included. When I questioned it, she was dismissive and condescending, even making a rude personal comment in front of others.
My intuition kicked in and I told her I didn't like how she was treating me, and I left without attending the class. Whether it was a misunderstanding or intentional pressure, the inconsistency with what I was told and the hostility made me feel unwelcome. I would’ve gladly paid if the terms were clearly stated upfront, but instead I felt bullied and disrespected.
If management values trial customers, I hope they’ll address this. I won’t be returning unless I’m offered the missed day and assured I won’t have to deal with that staff member again. In the meantime, I’ll be trying another studio.

My favorite hot8 location! Parking is very easy and free, stuff is always very friendly and sweet. It’s also much cleaner and bigger than other locations I’ve been(Brentwood and Santa Monica) so you can see that everyone who works here truly takes care of their clients and space.
The business proved itself to be on high level, when I got surgery and still had some classes left they made it super easy for me to access after I recover.
Thank you to the beautiful crew who works here, always a pleasure coming in!

Hot 8 Yoga is a welcoming and wonderful yoga studio. All of the staff are warm, friendly & helpful. The classes are taught in a flowing and thoughtful style, so one pose compliments the next, plus the heat is so helpful yet they provide unlimited icy washcloths to refresh, so it never really feels too hot.
One more thing, their bathrooms are so modern, fully equipped with lotions, shampoos, plus they even leave a roll of plastic bags to store your wet clothes for your journey home!
I highly recommend taking classes @ Hot 8 Yoga to people new to yoga, as well as to seasoned yogis--they have something for everyone!

I was impressed with this particular location in Hollywood from the moment. Staff was super friendly (as they are at ALL Hot 8 locations) but the Hollywood location has only been open about a year, so it has a spanking new feel to it. The reception/retail area is quite spacious, and the women’s locker room is also very large, with a terrific changing area, large lockers available and great showers. The two yoga studios are well laid out and equipped with all the props you need. What most impressed me was how clean the facility is; the staff does a super job spraying down the studios in between classes, cleaning the yoga mats, and keeping the chilled washcloths stocked (so welcome when you sweat!). I liked the teachers, too, so be sure to give this place a try!

Try getting out of a contract- they lied to me and they sent a form that gives issues last minute when I had asked with time in advance to avoid this.
Why did the manager wait to inform me about a suspension form late? Why not be up front? And the suspension form time stamps it in the future. Their headquarters based in LA so it’s not a time difference. unethical.

I just signed up for 2 months trial and only went 1 time, because of studios smells sweat and I can’t deal with that stinky smell, but they keep charging me without permission for months… no message, no nothing, nobody asked me while singing do I giving permission for that! They just kept my credit card and spending like owner! The first time at hot 8 in Hollywood there was no heat. 2nd time heat was over 110 and so unbearable and unhealthy. The teacher had to sit in the doorway to teach the class and this could not show the moves. I discovered Hot 8 because I was reading reviews for Core Power Yoga which I have attended classes for years when traveling. One of the reviews recommended trying Hot 8 Yoga instead. I’d never heard of them since I live in Florida. Since I’ve been doing hot yoga for almost 20 years, I had to try it. I signed up for a class and was texted and emailed with a welcome message and asking about my specific needs. When I arrived for the Hot Power Fusion Class, I was immediately greeted and they were super friendly and gave me a tour. The studio is super clean. The rooms smell good. The floor has a nice, grippy texture. I got the towel and mat bundle which is a reasonable price. The room was nice and hot and music was good. It wasn’t too crowded. The cold towels after class is a nice touch. There are free lockers and the bathroom is well-stocked and expansive.
I did make one mistake by choosing a class only by time. Hot Power Fusion classes incorporate a lot of Bikram poses including his signature triangle pose. I started with Bikram two decades ago but it is very triggering for me to practice his moves now. If you don’t know about him, do some research. He’s a monster. I guess that I was surprised that especially in California long after #MeToo that his specific poses were used. It was hard for me to concentrate. I made this mistake two years ago taking a class in Indiana that still used Bikram poses but I expected it more there (not that it wasn’t as triggering) because it’s the Midwest. All of the studios I use in Florida where I live don’t use his poses and I never remember this happening at Core Power Yoga.
I’ll be back but will chose more wisely to not chose a class that still uses Bikram sequencing.

I always leave with a smile.

Hot 8 Hollywood is great! There’s parking! The studio is very clean, has all the amenities you need for a hot yoga studio (filtered water, showers, large locker rooms, lockers, mats & towels). The heat is high and the instructors always have great playlists. They are not quite at their peak yet in terms of instructors having set schedules and consistent practices for each class, but they are well on their way.
I have struggled to find the right place to practice in LA and Hot 8 is my favorite studio!

I’ve been going to Gretchen’s Power class for about a month now and am hooked! I’ve never done hot yoga before and it’s a (good) challenge for me, but Gretchen makes me feel so comfortable and I never feel intimidated or out of place when I’m unable to do a pose or when I need to take a break. I’m really happy I have made Hot8yoga a part of my fitness journey!

Took a sculpt class at the new Hollywood location to check out the new studio (I usually go to Woodland Hills). I was greeted by Marie K who also showed me around the studio. As for the workout, I loved it! The playlist, the temp and humidity level, and the sequences. Marie makes sure you have the proper form, which is super important.

I’ve tried yoga in the past, but couldn’t get into it. I seem to focus more with hot yoga and now just a few classes in I’m hooked. I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the team at Hot 8 Yoga. They go the extra step to make you feel welcomed and to make their clients feel valued. The instructors are amazing! They work with each student based on where they are in terms of skill. I have already recommended Hot 8 Yoga to friends and family.

I couldn’t be happier that Hot8 opened in Hollywood. Hot8 studios are the only ones that have the room hot enough. The Hollywood instructors are sensational (esp Francesca)! I love having consistent 26&2 classes in actually hot rooms.

Very glad Hot 8 opened up in Hollywood. I’ve been going for a few weeks now, and enjoy the variety of classes and the amenities offered. Minor room for improvement would be switching up the schedule occasionally, for example, yoga barre classes are mainly offered in the morning, early afternoon, or 5:45pm aka all the times I’m at work. The rooms are definitely too hot a lot of the times, would be nice to have it turned down a little but it is in the name and temperatures are clearly outlined on the site. The employees are nice and helpful and look forward to continuing yoga here!

The first thing that struck me about Hot Yoga 8 in Hollywood is the welcoming and serene atmosphere. The studio exudes tranquility, creating a perfect space for self-reflection and mindfulness. The staff is friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist newcomers such as myself. This inviting environment sets the stage for a fulfilling yoga practice.

My first time at this Hot 8 studio was for an event, and I was hooked! I love the vibe here - the Hollywood locaton staff are upbeat and super friendly, and they really make an effort to get to know you and make you feel like you are part of a community, which is important to me in the whole yoga experience. I love the studios- they are spacious, clean, and have great colored lighting. The locker rooms and shower areas are spacious and plenty, and the amenities are great! There is validated parking inside the structure, and street parking (just be vigilant of parking signs). The staff who work in this studio give it an overall energizing and happy inclusive vibe to all. Come check it out if you have not yet been to this location!

Was a long time fan of CorePower but once I tried hot8 in hollywood I knew I could not look back…..the facility is a much cleaner, brighter, and welcoming environment down to every last detail. I prefer the lighting and heating systems used at hot 8 as the colored lights make me feel so much more calm and focused in on my class. I love that they have cold towels to be used whenever needed and I love that they have everything you could possibly need stocked in the bathrooms as well including tampons and razors. But what makes this location the best is literally all of the teachers I’ve been nothing but incredibly kind and encouraging, special shout out to Yvette, who creates the best environment for practice.

I’ve been coming to this place for the last 5 years.
It has transformed my physical body and mental landscape.
I wasn’t sure what I was capable of - post ACL. MCL and LCL tears.
I also wasn’t sure if this was going to be the place for me, it’s a great combo of extremely difficult HIT, Pilates, vinyasa bikram and restorative yoga.
Plus!!!! - Each location has its own unique brand of fitness while still providing continuity DEPENDING on the instructors.
It’s hot here!! AF
110-116 Fahrenheit
it’s actually challenging and it helps me transcend obstacles in my daily life.
A lot of studios are more geared towards relaxation and they don’t provide that element. I really appreciate hot eight because of this feature.

Hot 8 Yoga lives up to its name. There were 8 hotties there, for sure. And if you stayed long enough, you became a hottie, too. I’ve got the Hot 8 yoga experience for the first time. It was one to remember. The location is good, with safe underground Parking. The clean space gives one the feel of a high-end day spa. We entered from the garage, and the door to the spa was a little tricky to find.
Once we got in, the staff was smiling and welcoming. Our group was supplied with everything we needed for an excellent Hot 8 yoga experience; the cool, eucalyptus towels made a big difference for me
After a few failed attempts at tree pose, I finally got my balance, and I could rise above the heat into a meditative state to help me complete this session. I can’t lie for a moment; I thought about quitting as I became a hottie, too. I felt a little disoriented after I left the hot box room, as one feels after a full body massage. I’m glad I stayed until the end and was offered a face and bath towel to take a much-needed shower before I left.
Overall, it was a 10 out of 10 experience; the ambiance was an East meets West cultural fusion experience. Hot 8 Yoga reminded me of a spa in a five-star hotel. It had all the amenities that One could ask for, and it had lockers with customizable combinations. I am thankful for the heat and steam and for what it took out of me because I had one of the best nights of sleep, and I felt like a hottie the next day. #hot8yoga @hot8yoga
