I've been going to this gym since 2019. It has enough equipment to get your workout in and the 24/7 access is perfect. Staff is trash tho, every time I've had an issue with my key card they would take days to fix it. I canceled my membership and still keep getting charged. I called today to speak to someone about this issue and the guy told me to wait but just left me hanging on the phone.

I feel compelled to share my deeply disappointing experience with IB Fitness, and I urge anyone considering joining this facility to read this review carefully. What I encountered can only be described as a predatory business model, cloaked in the guise of a fitness center.

Upon deciding to stop using their facilities, I took the responsible step of notifying a staff member. I thought I had done everything right. However, I was blindsided when I learned that IB Fitness had sent my account to a collections agency—without my knowledge or consent. This shocking revelation came just after Christmas, a time that's supposed to be filled with joy and peace. Instead, I was left grappling with the stress and anxiety of unexpected debt collectors contacting me.

What’s even more alarming is that their actions seem to violate basic business ethics, if not the law itself. The blatant disregard for my prior communication and the subsequent aggressive financial tactics employed by IB Fitness is nothing short of a money grab. Their contract is designed to ensnare customers rather than support them in their fitness journey.

I cannot stress this enough: **STAY CLEAR of IB Fitness at all costs.** Their practices are not only unethical but could also be considered retaliatory in nature. They weaponize their contract to extract money from unsuspecting customers, and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone.

To anyone reading this, I implore you to do your research and find a gym that values its members and operates with integrity. There are plenty of fitness facilities out there that promote health and wellness without resorting to underhanded tactics.

IB Fitness, you need to do better. Your current practices are unacceptable, and I sincerely hope others heed this warning to avoid the same distressing experience.

It was a great gym until new management came in. I was a member since 2019 but unfortunately had to cancel my membership due to equipment being out of service for long periods of time. Prices went from $40 to $60 in no time which I wouldn’t mind paying but the gym kept declining over time. They started to remove machines, equipment and spaces little by little without fixing the broken equipment, bringing new equipment or implementing new stuff. It was good while it lasted.

I will miss going to IB fittness, was a member since 2016. Apparently you cant say nothing bad about the equipment there. The manager brisen is bieng a tyrant and on a power trip. Theres something wrong with that guy. He took it upon himself to kick me out of the gym with no notice or anything and called the cops on me, totally uncalled for. I am sorry but the gym is very compact since the gym staff put out that marina lost her 10 year contract in the other room. Brisen the manager has poor manager skills and treats the gym like he owns it. He has tood other members i dont care Marina owns the gym. Its my gym now. Its very saddened how this gym has gone down hill. At the end of the day ill take my $59 membership somewhere else. Its better not bieng at a very toxic environment

Someone stole my car key there and I asked an employee about cameras and he said they didn’t work. They also assured me no one there would steal anything. I searched for about 2-3 hours inside and outside the parking lot and sure enough a guy that was working out next to me came outside and I asked if he had seen my key he said no. I then hear something hit the ground and it was my car key. The guy had taken it but tossed it when I was turned around and said it was there the whole time. It definitely was not and it was more than obvious. I went back and told the employees and they just shrugged at me. I cancelled my membership and never went back.

This gym is amazing. I went here for a few years when they had childcare. When they had to get rid of childcare, I had to switch to Chuze 🤢 I recently got child care, so i came back here as fast as i could! I love the space and equipment available. Its always clean and they are always adding to their equipment, which is awesome. If you are in to body building or olympic lifting, look no further. they also have space for functional training. The coaches for the classes are great!!

I have been a member of this gym for several years. I love it! I truly enjoy my morning workouts and the people I am surrounded by. I currently take the classes with Amy and Dylan. They are fantastic. Bryson (management) always comes through and offers help or even a smile and encouragement. The people I take the classes with are fun to be around. I need my gym time to set me up right for the day and I always feel good when I leave. What more can you ask for! There is room and equipment for any workout style you prefer. I see some reviews about things not being clean or broken… this place is not all shiny and new. It’s a gym that people work out hard in. It’s used. But it’s functional, gritty and down to earth and I’ve never had an issue with skin infections/ rashes and I am doing burpees and crawling on that floor a lot! They do mop and do what they can to keep it clean. Any equipment I use works just fine and they recently added a few new tools to the arsenal.

Leaving this review in reply to another made from a week prior. Rebecca, this one's for you. I'll start off by saying I've been at this gym for 4 years. During lockdown, this place was a life-saver for many in the community, mentally and physically. Marina will forever have my respect and support for being brave enough to be one of the few gyms that fought closing at every turn for her community.

That said, this gym has a beautiful tight-knit family vibe and structure. Never crowded, great vibe, and you'll see the same faces working hard every day. We have a collection of some amazing men and women athletes, all of whom are helpful and supportive, I honestly can't think of a safer or more positive environment to achieve your fitness goals.

What Rebecca did was not in line with any gym environment I can think of. Rebecca threatened to physically assault me in front of at least three individuals who can testify, including an employee. You didn't cancel your membership,dude. You were canceled for physically threatening another person. Best of luck at your next MMA gym

Unfortunately I had to cancel my membership due to the behavior of other members. I had been a member for over 6 years. The staff are always nice and responsive and the owner is the best. It’s a perfect gym if you want something convenient and close to home. The only reason it’s not a 5 is that some of the clientele made it uncomfortable to remain there.

Edit: If I could give them place zero stars I would. The owner fails to acknowledge abusive, harassing and disrespectful behavior from some of her patrons toward women. Long time member or not, I expected the owner to at least apologize or acknowledge the treatment I received that led me to terminate my contract. The only upside was that my membership was immediately canceled, but the only thing the owner did was forward me the paperwork. If you are a woman and don’t mind being harassed and disrespected, by all means to go this gym. But it’s better to leave it to the wanna be meatheads who are basically just men children.

Gym is currently refusing to cancel my membership. I keep getting calls stating that my membership is due despite the fact that I have put in writing for them to cancel my membership. Their phone number listed on Google and on their website does not work or belongs to someone who is not affiliated with them. The only way to contact them so far is either in person or writing a letter, and sometimes apparently writing a letter doesn't work either. I no longer live in the area due to being put on orders that have taken me out of the area and I have informed them that I need to cancel my membership and yet they still try to take money out of my account. They don't seem to really care whether or not you live in the area, they just care that you have a membership with them and so they automatically think they are entitled to money. 0/10, would not recommend this gym. They are greedy, lazy, and entitled.

Honestly it's a pretty decent gym, it's got most of what you need and everything works, its alot of old equipment but it does the trick! They keep the place pretty clean and always have towels out for the customers.The 24 hour access is the key though especially if you dont have a det schedule you can get your work out in late or first thing in the morning, plus they offer month to month if you are here for travel or TDY

Worst Gym I've ever been in.

I went for personal training with Coach Dan, the only real reason I stayed. Amazing training and wild results!

As far as the gym goes though, everything was always broken. In my 4 months going there, the Men's Sauna was working for a week and never available. For the the heavy y price of $50 a month with no sauna and constant broken cardio machines it wasn't worth it. If you're cool with that then enjoy but I don't recommend.

Bathroom had roaches...broken plates and rusty weights throughout. Just not a great experience. Only cool thing is that they are open 24 hrs for members and you can get in before 5 am when most gyms open.

Just what we need mentally and physically coming out of quarantine. I have been a member for over 6 years now. The owner Nick and staff including Selena are very approachable, they always greet me. The gym has fresh air flowing through the gym. Plenty of equipment to work with. I’m always able to complete my workouts without waiting on others. The 24hr access is awesome. Before you sign up make sure to understand the cancelation policy so you do become frustrated and disappointed. I couldn’t help but notice through the years members requesting to cancel and walking away dissapointed.

The gym itself is fine and the people who work there are kind, however their billing is ridiculous. I paid first and last month when I signed up, in the contract it says you have to give 30 days notice before cancelling - fine. I cancelled on 20 days notice, paid in cash for an extra month (on top of the extra month I paid in the beginning) and thought that would be the end of it. I was very wrong, every week someone new would call me saying I owe them money and every week I would tell them I paid twice and that I resolved this in person before I moved out of state. They kept calling, and then went to a collection agency and keep inflating the amount I "owe" them. Completely ridiculous. Only advice I can give is don't give them your credit card information.

I’m not going into a story so I’ll do a pro and con list.

Pros- open 24 hours, good set of people to workout with

Cons- not Always open 24 hours. Claim power outages but TVs turn on themselves? Power outage for more than 15 hours when a worker was present the day before and a worker fixed it in less than an hour the next day?? Times when the doors weren’t opening, we’ve told whoever was working more than 3x that the members keys weren’t working and the worker would just sit there with a confused look and not go and open the door. My buddy said the same thing about their so-called power outage 3 weeks ago where the worker wouldn’t open the door when it wasn’t working.
- paper towels and soap aren’t refilled daily and almost usually out of them for more than 2 days
-broken toilet since the last owner and they’ve upgraded stuff in the bathroom??
-toilet overflowed with feces and urine in men’s room and wasn’t cleaned for more than 4 hours. I contacted owner but they never checked message until the afternoon.
-spin bikes been non-functional for more than 6 months, unable to adjust anything on the bike. Sold all the rest of the spin bikes used for their old spin classes. A lot of other broken equipment would say parts are ordered but we’re talking weeks. At least the last owners would repair stuff and NOT use electrical tape to keep weight equipment together.
-trainers show up 10 min past the appt. time that’s given to clients. My buddy wasn’t happy about that since it was for his wife. Consistent tardiness from trainer. Plus I read the other day someone who works there told a member who was quitting not to quit because she had fat on her still??? Hope that’s not true.
-haven’t checked lately but a few years ago or less, I did research on their fitness meal plans and workout techniques. All I got to say is when you do google search and find the same info from different websites and don’t give credit, that’s plagiarism.
- once I got double charged and when I confronted them, the so-called manager said, “then just quit if you don’t like it.”

-I was told by the owner if I took a person off my membership to make it a single person, she said it would only drop $10 off but told me to keep it as couple because there’s a chance my membership would go from $39 single to $78 a month per person???? Wow!

I was a 12 year member(40 year IB resident) there along with 2 other people who were there for as long as me, if not longer knowing all these issues as well and weren’t happy. There were a few more morning regulars with us who knows all these issues and I’m glad everyone supported me with issues I had with the owners. I guess you get what you pay for but service/equipment should be handled better. I’d recommend checking fitness world or ChuzeFitness since they’re $10 a month with working stuff. I’m definitely not a business owner but worked 24 hour facilities before. But if a business is 24 hours, either a worker should be working or you are ON-CALL if there are issues at the gym. I did my best to keep owners inform of the issues but didn’t really seem to matter to them.

Went twice. Didn't like it at all. Employees made me feel uncomfortable and judged. Waited for the owner numerous times and they never showed up. Equipment overall is good. But today when working out I see some random person come in and start going through the trash cans collecting bottles and cans etc.. and then touching equipment, touching door handles, touching all of the facility without washing their hands afterwards is absolutely disgusting and then I go to the front desk and they say oh it's just a recycling bin... And defended the procedure.. that is absolutely no excuse for someone to come in and dig through the trash and then touch all over the facility without washing their hands that's how people get sick, that's how germs spread,and it's ridiculous. IB FItness! I love this gym! Starting with the staff, they know what the hell they're doing from ownership to front desk. This place is kept very clean and have gone through many upgrades on equipment and overall design in the gym. I have a 7 year old daughter so its important to me to have good family atmosphere. Kid's club is awesome! My daughter loves this place and all the people who work here. I love the equipment, there's never a wait, the gym stays pretty steady all day long. Your average member could be anywhere from the teens to 90 years old. I live in Carlsbad CA and I still choose to keep my membership 50 miles away at IB Fitness because that's what value means to me. If you're reading this and you want consultations on your fitness goals, let Josh Breckenridge lead you to success. He sure as hell knows a lot more than anyone I've come across and he is very passionate about fitness, STAY READY!!!

Best gym I've ever came across, why? Because for one it's by the beach so it always has a nice breeze coming through, it's very clean, positive people all around everyone is very friendly, they have everything from stationary equipment, cardio & cross fit equipment. Great trainers also. They also have a great device called the My-Zone heart rate monitor that shows how intense your going in your workout to burn actual fat and it sends you daily updates via Bluetooth and your total results for that month. They also do monthly measurements to keep track of your results. The classes are great, they also have day care, dry sauna, lockers, bath rooms, & showers. Best part about this place is that it's 24hrs. I highly recommend this place they actually take the time to teach you the proper way to workout whether it's using equipment or functional training.

I haven't even started here yet but hearing these compliments and complaints tells me one thing, I'm definitely going to join this gym, my new I.B. rental lease is for a year so a "year gym commitment" is perfect!!!! I mean if I commit to a year to this place it'll just motivate me to push it everyday I workout.
I'm only losing by making this commitment if I get lazy and neglect the place....
And what kook would join a gym, and because they weren't satisfied with their results, complain months later and blame the gym knowing it was they that failed....not the gym, and then try to weasel their way out of the promise they willfully made?
The shame!!!!

I have gone here for the past few months and it has been quite pleasant. The facilities and showers are clean. There are always plentiful staff available to help. There is a good variety of classes and the schedule changes often. They are also open to suggestions and feedback.

I absolutely love this gym. I love the atmosphere, always getting greeted at the front desk by name and never hounded about personal training or other services and products. The manager Nick has went out of his way to help me when I had two bad experiences with two ex employees, one of which caused me and my girlfriend to leave the gym. he was very understanding and professional and understood why we did not want to work out there anymore and let us out of our contract and my crossfit contract completely with no cost at all. After the employees and the gym parted ways, he personally called us and invited us back for the same cost and contract, nothing down or upfront. the crossfit program is on point, James does a fantastic job with it. they recently added a protein and smoothie bar and they are fantastic and reasonably priced. yes the equipment isnt the nicest and some of it is old, but it still does the job. you want to turn around your fitness life I highly recommend this gym.

First off, if I could give IB fitness no stars, I would but i can't. This place has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Signed up for a year long membership with a crossfit gym, and when they were not going to be getting affiliated with Crossfit, I tried to cancel my contract. Went to the gym to speak to someone about canceling my contract, and the guy at the desk was very polite and said he didnt have the power to cancel to contract himself, and I would have to speak to the owner. He told me the owner would be there shortly. I waited for about an half an hour, the owner never showed. Left a message for the owner, he never got back to me. Today I went to the gym again, the owner was there and i spoke to him about canceling the contract. The owner, Nick Gaspard, was extremely rude. I explained to him that i very clearly signed a contract for a crossfit gym, and this is not a crossfit gym, he rudely called me a stalker for coming to his work place and looking for him (his work place being the gym...that i'm paying for a membership for...?). He was not willing to reason with me at all, I left with him threatening to take me to collections if I had my bank block their business from my account. I immediately had my bank block them, and went back in to grab a copy of my contract. Upon going back in, Nick had a change of heart and let me out of my contract. Thanks Nick! Nice doing business with ya! I regret every penny I ever spent on this gym, and I sincerely hope no one will ever be treated this way again. And I wonder if the fact that they say that theyre crossfit affiliated, while they actually are not, will ever catch up to them? Only time will tell! Hope this review helps!

Terrible customer focus here at IB Fitness!! All they want is your money and a signed contract that they can hold in front of your face so that they can squeeze you for every dime they can. The place smells like dirty diapers and toe nail fungus. I would stay away from this place unless you want to pay a lot of money for a staff infection.

I joined IB Fitness to strengthen my arms after surgery. Shortly after joining I developed a Staph infection from the surgery. I explained that I was ill and couldn't use the gym. They refused to let me out of my contract. ZERO customer service in my opinion.

I have belonged to this gym for quite a while and since the new owner Nick has taken over it has gotten even better.
They are very friendly, helpful and they are always cleaning the equipment. The music is always good and the fresh air which circulates makes working out very comfortable.
I highly recommend this gym. It is also open 24/7 for customer's convenience.
My wife and I work out there several times a week and it is always a great experience.

Went to this gym for a couple of months. The equipment is old and the gym is not clean. Also if you're in the military and you get deployed there is no getting out of your contract, yes even if you get stationed on the other side of the world. Very nice people at the front desk but if your looking for a good gym to spend a lot of your time in on a regular basis I would not recommend.

Simply the worst business experience of my life. This establishment has no sense of customer service. They are all about the money. They pull you in, make you sign a contract, and make it as difficult as possible to get out. And they will hound you until they get their money, even if you aren't actually using their facilities anymore.

I moved from IB to Mission Valley and they will not let you out of your contract. This place is ridiculous!!! The owner is really rude and doesn't care about the gyms reputation... obviously look at the other reviews.
