I am not a gym person but really wanted to start strength training and was intimidated to try on my own. I'm so glad I found IBX. Their classes are accessible AND challenging, the instrutors are so encouraging, and after going consistently for a few months, I'm already upping my weights and doing things I didn't know I would be capable of (box jumps! push ups!). I especially love the 6am class with Coach Sisi. Her enthusiasm is infectious! It's such a great way to start the day.

I leave every class feeling stronger and genuinely proud of what I was able to accomplish. When friends compliment my appearance and ask what I've been doing, I always mention IBX. I’ve been at IBX for about a year now, and I’m so glad I made the decision to join! I tried out so many other gyms and classes, but always fell out of it. IBX was the consistency I needed with coaches that care to follow up with you- even over text.
I didn’t really come in with prior knowledge, so I was afraid of hurting myself with incorrect form. Not only are they modeling what to do, but I appreciate them explaining why too. The education piece of understanding how my body moves and how not to hurt myself is so helpful!

Prior to the pandemic, I was a super-fit woman with a strong core, flexibility, and solid muscle tone. But after years of remote work, I basically turned into a potato. A friend finally convinced me to try iBX—and I haven’t stopped since.
It’s been over a year and more than 100 classes. I average two classes a week (I wish I could do more!), and even with just those two sessions, I’ve made huge progress. I’m back to running at least two miles without feeling like I’m dying. I can do box jumps with ease, crank out at least five full push-ups, and I’m steadily increasing my weights across the board.
As my body keeps challenging the aging process, I’m determined to keep challenging it right back—by showing up at iBX. The training staff is excellent, and the community is incredible. I’ve even brought my high-school and college-aged kids, and they got their butts kicked! It’s become a family affair, and iBX supports every bit of it.

IBX is awesome! I tried a few different gyms, looking for a good fit and IBX was it. The coaches are all really supportive and uplifting. The music is fun and energetic. You can scale the workout to how you’re feeling that day - lighter vs beast mode. They do workshops and group activities outside of classes as well. Honestly, I was originally nervous to sign up because it’s not a cheap gym (unlimited pass), but it’s an expense I’m happy to budget for now because I love the workouts so much. I’ve been going consistently for 3 months and feel so much stronger and confident in myself.

My best friend got me hooked…after dedicating my fitness to CrossFit for over a decade, I needed a break and started training from home. I’m motivated, but home workouts are boring and I’m no expert in programming, so I leaned on random Peloton programs and workouts. Fast forward to August of 2025 when I started an unlimited trial month. Did I already say I’m hooked? I could rattle off all the exact strength and conditioning improvements, but the key point is this: the programming is exceptional - super well structured, safe movements focusing on progressive overload. The incorporation of mobility and stretching pre/post workout is so helpful. Workouts are efficient and effective and coaching is clear, concise, motivating and fun. There are plenty of time slots on the schedule so I can always fit something in to my day. I’ve been able to maintain an average of 5 classes a week for the last 3 months. And (as others have shared) music is always fire! I’ve complete over 50 workouts to date and can’t wait to see the progress I’ve made once I hit 200! Loving IBX!

I think I have been with IBX for about 3 months now and I love it. The coaches and community. Do I like getting my butt kicked every class YES! I have never been able to hold on to the habit of consistently working out, but IBX fitness has me converted! The instructors here (Sisi and Ian) are great: they remember your goals, check-in on you and your level of motivation, and push you to be better. The community is great and amplified by the partner events they host on some Saturdays. Everyone here wants you to be better. I’ll sum up my experience at IBX in one word: AMAZING! When I joined I had very limited experience with strength-training, and certainly hadn’t stuck with anything for long. I've been working out here since July and there are a bunch of great things to note! The staff are upbeat and encouraging (even on off days) and are paying attention to what is going on in the class. I've never seen one of them on their phone during class which is more than I can say about my prevuous gym experience. IBX is there to help you meet your fitness goals through consistency. Since I've started at IBX hiking is more enjoyable, I sleep better, better focus and thinking at work, and improved my flexibility.

IBX is exactly what I was hoping to find in a local neighborhood gym: a welcoming and encouraging environment that suits me whether I was just returning to exercise after years as a SAHM or now that I've been getting stronger and breaking my own personal records. Even better, the variety of class times means I can find a schedule that works around school pickups and workdays so I can get my workouts in even with a busy schedule. The waitlist feature is low-key the best because I almost always get in to a class even if I signed up the night before. Ian and Sisi and the instructors run a tight ship, they keep the place clean and well equipped and the music is fire. 10/10 recommend!

I LOVE IBX! That's a big deal coming from me because I don't like gyms and never saw myself joining a group workout gym but I'm so glad I did. I've had a 24hr fitness membership for years and rarely go. I tried ymca but it didn't stick. I know what to do at the gym as a former athlete but the motivation was never there. I'd rather play sports than go to a gym. But it's different at IBX. I love the trainers! I love/hate the workouts, 😂. They plan great workouts and they push me, more than I want to be pushed, at times. I'm grateful.
I got into a car accident and was sidelined for about a year. I had to quit my soccer team which meant, no exercise. IBX helped me get back on track and now I'm able to play soccer again and shed some lbs, too. If you're looking to get fit, for real, with some good people, IBX is it. See you there!

I started working out at IBX five months ago, and it was such a great choice. Coaches Sisi, Ian, and Seazzia always bring a positive attitude to every class and are thoughtful, detailed instructors. The classes are small, so you always feel seen, heard, and taken care of. They make sure to offer movement adaptations when needed, something that was especially important for me, as I’d been struggling with knee pain for months before joining IBX. That pain has improved a lot since I started training here. I used to go to gyms where I didn’t feel like the coaches really cared about me, but that’s definitely not the case at IBX. After a full day of work, I’m still happy and motivated to go, and I can really see myself getting stronger and healthier. I’m honestly so thankful to IBX and the coaches.

IBX is the best. I generally hate gyms and have always dreaded going, but I actually enjoy being at IBX! It is entirely class based, and the classes, while challenging, go by very fast. You have your own little area marked off, so you don’t have that usual group class stress of not having enough room and bumping into people.
The trainers are amazing. They really get to know you, and they push you in a way that is tailored to you. They really seem to care and want to make you stronger. The atmosphere is nice too- totally non competitive. People aren’t all in perfect Lulu Lemon outfits, and they’re not looking at you. It has a wide range of ages and levels as well. If a movement feels wrong, they will give you modifications.
I started going because I hit fifty and suddenly could not lift my suitcase into the overhead compartment on planes. But last month when I flew, I could!!

A year ago I was coming off one year of physical therapy that had barely helped my lower back pain. Within a few months of working out with IBX, my pain was gone. After years of an inconsistent commitment to fitness, but knowing I need to get stronger, I finally found my forever fitness home in IBX. Referred through another teacher friend, IBX was sold to me as "a place where they make you feel like a badass" and ended up being all that and so much more. The workouts are challenging, yet leveled to match you in your zone. The instructors are INCREDIBLE--and as a teacher, I am picky about who I can learn from! They push you with positivity, strength, focus, and close attention to the details of your body's movements. They are making sure you're pushing yourself without injury and having FUN at the same time. And your fellow workout buddies span a wide range of age, body type, gender, races, ethnicities, etc. But one thing they all have in common is friendly and non-judgey. That's just the vibe of IBX--you go there to get strong, feel proud, and connect to your body in the company of kindness and skill.

I have been a member of IBX Fitness for about a year, and this has been the best gym so far! I am in my 30s and have tried so many gyms and programs to manage my sciatica and disc issues: yoga, pilates, 1:1 personal training, physiotherapy, acupuncture, chiropractics... but the group training sessions at IBX Fitness 2-3 times a week have been the most effective in reducing the sciatica symptoms and improving both my physical and mental health.
What I enjoy the most about IBX is their varied training programs and the personalized care I receive from the coaches. IBX offers only group training, and there are currently four "types" of classes: Upper-body, Lower-body, Core, and Full body. Each class consists of Iron Flow, Strength, and Cardio so you get a well-rounded full workout every time. The specific movements and workouts are always varied, so even if you go to the same Lower Body class multiple times a week, you will work on different muscles and mobilities.
Moreover, each class is max. 14 people and the coaches will come help you to maintain correct postures or suggest alternative movements or weights depending on how you are doing. You can push yourself as hard or as little as you want. They also offer FREE 15-minute quarterly consultations online/phone where you can discuss with a coach your specific issues, goals, and diet plans you'd like to focus on for the next 3 months. Personally I would like to give a big shoutout to Coaches Ian and Sisi who have taken their time to check with me and cheering me on in my progress - they are so knowledgeable, resourceful, and professional, and I have never enjoyed working out like this before. I feel stronger and physically more capable than ever, and it is thanks to IBX.
For those who are checking the reviews to find a better gym like I did: DO IT! This will be that long-term fitness journey you have been meaning to start. I believe there is a free trial offer that runs all-year-round, and that is how I started too. There are many social events at the gym as well -- while I tend to keep it to myself, I really appreciate the welcoming and friendly vibes. We've all got only one body, and it feels so good to take good care of it.

I’ve been going to IBX Fitness for about two years now, and it’s easily one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health and well-being. What I love most about the workouts is how adaptable they are—you can control the intensity simply by choosing the weights that work for you. So while everyone is following the same structure, each person can challenge themselves at their own level, which makes it approachable for all fitness backgrounds.
I’m in my mid-40s and have spent my whole career sitting at a desk. For years, I struggled with lower back pain and was regularly seeing a chiropractor. But since building strength through the IBX workouts, my back pain has almost completely gone away. I still go in for the occasional chiro session for maintenance, but I rely on it less and less, which is huge.
I haven’t noticed any weight loss—if anything, I’ve gained weight—but I’m pretty sure that’s all muscle, because I certainly don’t look heavier. I feel stronger, more stable, and more energized overall.
The instructors are all fantastic—motivating, knowledgeable, and genuinely good people. I was sad when one of my favorite coaches moved on to pursue something else, but I totally respect that, and thankfully, the rest of the team is just as great.
I’m not a particularly social person, so I tend to keep to myself, but the community at IBX is welcoming and friendly. It’s a space where everyone is focused on bettering themselves, and that energy is contagious.
Highly recommend it—especially if you’re looking to build real strength, take care of your body, and be part of a supportive environment.

I needed to get in the habit of exercising regularly again and I needed the commitment to sign-up for classes ahead of to time to make it happen. Add coaches who know what they are doing and helping me figure out what I can and cannot do with my sciatica pain. IBX fit the bill perfectly! For the last 5 years, I have been on a fitness journey, starting with heavy lifting, pilates, and volleyball, in that order. I wanted to shift my workout to focus more on endurance while still engaging with my love of strength building. Taking advantage of IBX's 3 classes for $1 at the end of 2023 was the absolute best gift I gave myself. As of today I've completed 95 classes in the past year, and I feel and see the difference! The coaches are incredible--flexible, supportive, they'll push you but also ensure everyone stays safe and modifies as needed. There's no judgement, no cliques, no stigmas or stereotyping--the environment is as inclusive as it gets. And the coaches are frequently out in the community taking part in local events and happenings, so you can get to know them and they can get to know you as whole people. I wouldn't change a thing.

This is the place. If you’re looking for an amazing strength-building fitness studio, look no further. The coaches have all been great at encouraging me to push to my limits and level up. They are quick to offer a modification to a movement if needed (ie for range of motion, injury, etc), and eager to provide encouragement to crank out that one last sweet rep (or two) before the clock hits 0:00. I’ve gotten noticeably stronger since I joined. My only regret is that I didn’t join sooner.
I’ve also been happy with the community that IBX has built. It’s awesome seeing familiar faces in class and also at member social events. The small class size means we get both the accountability and camaraderie from a group setting as well as personal attention from the coaches.
The classes are a thoughtful and effective combo of strength finished with cardio, and I believe they are perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

Two year member and still leave every class feeling great! The IBX classes are thoughtfully designed to focus on specific body parts, and every class has different movements. It keeps me active and never gets boring! The coaches are really lovely; Ian, Evee, and Meghan always bring good vibes, and give helpful adjustments to maximize the work out while protecting my alignment. IBX is a gem! I started working out here months ago and am more and more grateful for them all the time. The instructors are all welcoming and friendly, very knowledgeable, and are great at meeting you where you're at while still encouraging you to challenge yourself. They're super responsive to any requests and have great straightforward communication about all aspects of joining and being a member of IBX. The community is very low-key and it's a great atmosphere for someone like me who doesn't consider myself a "gym rat" but still loves having somewhere to go outside my home to work out. I haven't taken advantage of them yet but they even offer a lot of community events that look fun. It's been a fantastic place to regain my fitness level after years post-partum and I'm so grateful that I joined!

Have you ever signed up for a group fitness class that made you actually miss it when you can't attend due to other obligations? I'm pleased to say working out is no longer a chore, and that is thanks to IBX!
I have been attending IBX for almost 6 months, 3 times a week to build strength and help manage my stress with exercise. It is so conveniently located on San Pablo street with plenty of parking. Inside, the equipment —comprising of weights (called "torpedoes", you'll never look at dumbbells the same again), mats, resistance bands, jump ropes, and exercise boxes — is easily accessible, clean, and offers a range for all strength levels.
I never have to think about what my workout is going to be because IBX changes the themes and movements each week. No "Upper body Wednesdays" or "Lower body Fridays", you can still get a well-rounded and heart-pumping workout even if you miss a day.
The 50 mins of class go by quickly, and there is a routine flow: warm up, Iron Flow, strength training, cardio, and cooldown / stretching. The other members are friendly and thanks to the small class size (up to 16 people), the coaches are able to give you some personal training tips too like form corrections and helping you choose weights.
I think the membership price is fair and competitive to other gyms, plus it's cheaper than therapy! And you're supporting a locally-owned small business! Win-win!

I love IBX. It's such a great intersection of group exercise and almost having a personal trainer. Both Evee & Ian take the time to get to know you and assess what sort of movements make the most sense for your body's needs and ability, and also where you want to be. They're also really great when it comes to gently nudging you when it's time to bump up to the next weight to keep things challenging. The classes are always dynamic and fun, and variable. I've been going for a little over a month and do not regret this decision one bit. I feel more energized and stronger and always look forward to my next class! Oh, and they have great playlists for you to workout to as well!

I highly recommend IBX! I've been going regularly for about a year now, and it's something I look forward to in my day. The workouts are effective -- I feel challenged and am getting stronger and more fit. The class size is perfect -- it's not overwhelmingly big and so you get the individual attention necessary to make sure you are doing the workouts correctly. And the overall atmosphere is very warm and welcoming -- the coaches are really nice and they put on events outside the regular workout classes to build community among the members and the larger community.
I also want to highlight how the IBX coaches helped me remain active during my pregnancy. They were very accommodating, providing me with pregnancy-safe workouts during class and tips/advice on what to do outside of class to maintain a healthy pregnancy. Each class I was provided with modifications that were appropriate for whatever stage of pregnancy I was in, and I appreciated the time they spent in educating themselves and creating individual workouts for me. Overall, I'm so glad I continued working out at IBX throughout my pregnancy (and that they were so helpful about it!) -- it resulted in me having a healthier pregnancy, quicker labor and delivery, and easier postpartum recovery. Thank you, IBX, for making us healthier (and therefore, happier), no matter what stage of life we're in!

Signing up to lift weights (free weights) at IBX Fitness was the best thing I did for myself this year. I'm an active person, but I had some aches and pains and had been losing strength for a few years. (I'm about 55.) I recommend IBX because 1) the workouts are fun and vary a LOT! 2) I was surprised how fast I gained strength (results will vary) 3) It is fun and non-competitive and the level of instruction and feedback has been excellent. Each member has their one spot during classes which makes it more relaxed.
You have to try it once to see how well structured and friendly this fitness experience is.

After months of being out of the gym due to you-know-what, it was great to be able to get back into shape at IBX Fitness. I was a little intimidated as I didn't have much experience with workout classes but I now like the fact that it's directed and under an hour. That makes for effective exercise! I also feel safe as the gym is well ventilated and we are kept regularly updated. Besides the classes, the terrific crew here - Evee, Sean, Bri and Ian - also organize events such as hikes for members. Really appreciate them fostering a sense of community.

Love this gym! The morning classes are at the perfect time (6am, done before 7) so I can get home in time to get ready for my day. The workouts are upbeat, and mix weights with cardio, so its a complete workout. Also, they rotate daily which areas they focus on (don't skip leg day). Everyone is very friendly and supportive, no judgement. They also have workout modifications, especially if you tell them in advance. 10/10 would recommend.

IBX is a great community! I joined this group 3 months after delivering my 2 baby, feeling weak and not ready. IBX gave me enough support and kept telling me to "scale down whenever you need" during workout. They provide on-demand videos, and weekend outdoor exercises (socially distanced) because they care about members' needs- schedule wise, and social-emotionally. Bonus: My 3 yo daughter loves to stick with me for workout as well! She is totally involved.

IBX FItness has something for everyone! The sense of camaraderie that comes from this community extends beyond the classes to social events hosted monthly and casual hangouts initiated by members themselves.
The amazing instructors do everything from creating well thought out workouts to making sure that every member has what they need to have a fulfilling class. No matter what fitness level you are at currently, you will be challenged and see yourself improving.
One thing that really shows the dedication of the founders and instructors is their agility in adjusting to the developments of COVID-19 and taking the classes online. They have been hosting even more classes than before and revamped the live workouts for a virtual format. On top of this, social events are still hosted and IBX Fitness has created a series of challenges for members to stay active and healthy, both physically and mentally.
On top of all this, IBX offers personal training and tailored feedback on any issues, challenges, or goals you may have.

IBX does it right! The group camaraderie here is really unmatched elsewhere. When the pandemic closures started, IBX was quick to accommodate all of us by keeping classes going virtually. I cannot recommend this place enough for anyone (of any level!) to come get a workout and have fun while doing so. I have always struggled with working out on my own, so this group keeps me accountable.
What I appreciate - Feedback is always emphasized as they're always looking for ways to improve their program. I feel like my voice is always heard and they do try to implement changes quickly, if and when, possible.
An example of their superb service is how they well and quickly they adapted to the current pandemic situation with no gap in services for classes.

I highly recommend IBX! I joined more than a month ago and it is super easy to connect with all the members. I already feel part of this very supportive community. Further, the motivation to maintain a regular workout schedule comes easier to me.
About the workouts: The crew of energetic IBX instructors prepare workouts very carefully with different options to scale the difficulty based of individual levels! They show the movements and sweat with us during the workout. While very careful of the safety and teaching the correct movement, they also look at our form and help us correct it if needed.
I am also using personal training services (affordable) with Ian for even more tailored workouts. He is a certified trainer and very good!
