I've never had so much fun getting in shape. Alex has it dialed in! The community is great, the equipment is top notch, and the workouts are fun, varied, and challenging. I've never in my life worked out more than twice a week, but somehow now I'm at 5 days. If you're looking for a well programmed boutique gym with a great community of supportive people, you've found it.

I’ve tried working out on my own over the past decade using at-home workout programs, memberships big-box gyms and franchise club gyms. I’ve seen the most changes in my body by far during my time at Ignite. The programming is excellent and calculated to your individual strength levels. Coach Alex is a genuinely good person who cares about his members. He’s very perceptive about suggesting modifications based on need and equipping you to do more than you thought you were capable of. He is very generous and straight-forward in sharing his knowledge regarding nutrition and mindset. I’ve learned so much during my time here. I’m gaining strength, I’m leaning out, and most importantly I finally feel like I’ve been given the tools to make this sustainable for the long term.

Alex is great! I have never been a big fan of gyms. He is supportive and very knowledgeable. Classes are small (9 to 12) so you get a lot of good feedback and adjustments to your workout. The equipment is updated and nice. Very clean.

I searched far and wide for a strength based gym and landed at Ignite. As someone who previously worked in the fitness industry I am pretty picky when it comes to gyms. For me the most important thing I look for in a gym is excellent workout programming. Having workouts that are balanced (front and back body), that have a good mix of strength and cardio bursts, and focused on longevity and overall health. Ignite's workouts definitely have all of these things. Ignite provides the quality and individualization of personal training with the fun of a group workout. Alex and the other coaches are excellent at helping with form. I have seen amazing gains in my strength during the little over a year I have been workout out here and can confidently say I feel more comfortable in my body that ever before. If you are looking for a place to improve your health and find great community to encourage you along the way, come join us!

This gym has been by far the best I have been to in terms of workout plans, friendliness, helpful coaches, effective exercises, and overall great atmosphere. The classes are 9 people max, so it’s not crowded. You each have your own station where you have the exercises listed for you to accomplish, demonstrations on how to perform the exercises, guidance on how to perfect your form, and they time it perfectly so that you get each station (there are 3) done in time. I have seen the most positive changes in my body since attending classes here - stronger, toned, and no pain from performing an exercise with bad form.
If you are searching for a new gym with planned classes and knowledgeable coaches, I highly recommend giving this one a try!

It’s clean, organized, and has top tier Rogue equipment. The members are inspirational, positive, and ready to put in work (you all feel the pain together lol).

Alex is without a doubt the most educational, effective trainer in San Diego! He knows exactly what your program is every time you meet and how to continually push your success. He understands health and fitness on an elite level. Any questions that you have or topics that you want to learn more about he’ll give thoughtful explanations and insight. As someone who came from 0 strength training background (only knew elliptical cardio), he’s taught me how to lift weights safely and feel confident about movements in the gym.

1,000% recommend giving this place a shot if you’re serious about your fitness goals and want to see change!

Ignite Performance & Fitness is my happy place! I have been a member at Ignite for 6 months and the results that I have had in a short time is amazing. I was at a plateau at my previous gym for quite some time but at Ignite, I lost weight and inches, gained muscle and can see definition that I have not seen in years. Alex and Krystina keep me motivated during the workouts, which are different every day, the classes are small (max 9) so it is almost like a personal training session, and nutrition is included. We also test out every 8 weeks and there is no better feeling than lifting heavier than you did 8 weeks prior.

My 2 year anniversary right around the corner and I am still loving everything and everyone at Ignite Performance and Fitness. I have been able to keep my weight down taking 4-5 classes a week (I have to force myself to take a rest day) and (somewhat 😂😂) following my nutrition plan. I feel healthier and stronger than I have in years and no longer stress about my weight.

Alex truly is the best coach in town and has built such an amazing community that I don't dread going to the gym anymore. 💖🖤

I’ve been to many gyms in the Mira Mesa Area (CrossFit, hardcore fitness, 24 hour, LA fitness) and none compare to Ignite fitness and performance. If you’re looking for a small group, strength based and progressive programming gym, Ignite is the place. PROS: only 9 people per class and you will never have to share equipment during each station, your membership comes with nutritional planning for a well-rounded strength and nutrition programming, this is a supportive and NO ego type of gym (all the members are positive, encouraging but also not competitive) and great coaching from a knowledgeable coach, Alex! I plan to stick with Ignite for the long run.

I have worked out at many gyms including OTF and F45 for many years. I love coming to Ignite Fitness because the individualized fitness provided. Alex pays attention to each one of us and making sure we perform all the exercises correctly. He can do this because the max number of attendees in 9 per class! With such a low capacity boutique environment, Alex helps each individual to reach his/her peak performance. Since I have been here for the last 2 years, I have gained muscle mass and lost over 20 pounds. Ignite Fitness is not just a gym, it is where you work on your basic athletic movements like deadlifts or pull-ups (not just running on the treadmill mindlessly). In addition, Alex provides nutrition guidance for those who are interested to stay on the right path.
When my European friends heard of Alex and my engagement with the Studio, they are came tried it while they were on vacation. This is anther testament to the seriousness of the fitness provided in a friendly ambiance.
I am excited to see what 2023 brings for the Ignite Fitness.

I’m a former collegiate athlete and have been working out most of my life. I’ve tried several different workouts and gyms, but wasn’t able to get the results I wanted. When I started Ignite a little more than a year ago I had no idea how much I didn’t know about fitness, nutrition and how to see REAL results. Ignite and the coaches have helped me not only change my body, but my view on nutrition. If you want to see change and get the tools to keep the changes you see, join Ignite. I do not workout at this studio. I first had Alex as a coach at Orangetheory in Colorado. It became very obvious that he was an incredible resource for nutrition and weight loss. Several months ago I reached out to him for nutrition and weight loss monitoring. He was very upfront that I needed to commit to at least 3 months because losing weight and body fat wouldn’t happen overnight. He adjusted my food intake and macros. He checked in with me at least once a week. He was positive and uplifting on my journey. I lost 10 pounds and and my body weight dropped. However my biggest wins were in my lifting heavier because he encouraged me (via texts) and my running pace decreased. I have more energy. I encourage you to talk to him for all your health and fitness advice.

Personal training meets group fitness! If you didn't think this was possible, it does exist at Ignite fitness. I've done my share of group fitness class and personal 1:1 training and Ignite is the perfect mix of both. At Ignite, the strength based classes are catered to your own personal lifting capabilities, so it's you vs. you while also getting the supportive group setting that people love about fitness communities. They accomplish this by testing each member's baseline strength. This baseline is used to calculate your working weights during class, no more guessing how heavy of a weight to grab for that next exercise or trying to keep up with your neighbor's weight choices when your capabilities are completely different. The coaches and members are the most positive people you will meet, they genuinely care about each other and it's that part that makes you want to go back for more. Highly recommend trying a class! If you do, I'll go with you!!! Oh and did I mention they include nutrition coaching in your standard membership?!...game changer when you want an overall plan to meet your goals.

I have nothing but great things to say about Ignite Performance & Fitness! I found these strength-focused classes at a time when I needed them most. I was feeling sluggish and exhausted after COVID took the world by storm and was searching for new ways to switch up my fitness routine.

Coming from someone who had practically no experience with strength training prior to attending a class at Ignite, I was blown away by the care that was put into designing safe, effective workouts for members of all ages and abilities. Alex and Krystina are very knowledgeable and take the time to correct improper form and optimize specific movements to help everyone meet and exceed their wellness goals.

I have been regularly attending classes for about six months now and have made more progress in that amount of time than I have seen in years. My workout routine really was thrown out of whack when the pandemic hit. Although I was getting my cardio in I had been missing the strength component that I needed. I tried incorporating weights in the garage and later at the gym, but I never saw any real gains on my own.
I heard about Ignite from several friends who raved about the classes, which peaked my interest. I also took classes with the Head Coach, who taught at a previous fitness format, and knew he had a comprehensive understanding of fitness, nutrition, and overall health.
My husband and I tried out a free class and by the time we finished I knew I found the missing component in my fitness routine. We both signed up for unlimited classes and began lifting about 3-4 days a week.
We’ve been with Ignite for about two months and have seen such gains in strength and overall body composition. I’m usually the person that drags us out of bed at 4:30 for 5:00 am class, but more days than not my husband is the motivating factor to get us to class, which is such a reflection about how much he’s enjoying these workouts as well!
I’m so glad we found Ignite and can’t wait to see how much stronger we will continue to get. Hats off to Coach Alex and all the other wonderful coaches and staff at Ignite. They are doing it right!!!

We have all heard the story. You join a new program. You work hard. And then you eventually lose motivation. And then you give up. And the cycle continues.
I joined Alex and Kristina in their gym in Mira Mesa 2 months ago. I was hesitant - since it was a 20 minute drive for me and I was not sure if I could balance my work schedule and gym hours. But I had followed them on Instagram and I was motivated by the members. They looked strong and they were having fun. The group classes were 4-6 people which was nice and this meant the coach was going to focus on us individually.
Fast forward 2 months. I have deadlifted 120 lbs more, bench pressed 30 lbs more, and lost 3.5 inches on my waist line. Slow and steady. I feel stronger and better. Do I break some rules? Yes. 😂 but this gym is something I look forward to every day of the week. I only go there 3x a times and sometimes even 4x times.
Alex and Kristina are amazing. Fun people. But when the class starts they really push you. No shortcuts ever. So if you’ve been looking at the mirror and don’t like what you see - drive up here. Trust me, I drive 20 minutes to be here and it’s the best one hour of my day.
