Oh boy, where do I even start with this gym? It has been sad watching this gym be cared for less and less throughout the years. I remember when it first opened up. They were constantly adding new machines, mirrors and whatnot. But until recently it's like they stopped caring for it. There are always weights everywhere. The toilets are disgusting. The floors are always dirty. It gets hot and stuffy inside during summer. And it takes them a month to make a simple fix on the cable machines. I've tried contacting Iron Valley through email a few weeks ago, and still no reply. So I had to message them on Instagram. I tried canceling my membership, but they said next month people will have the option to cancel online. Keep in mind this gym has been open for YEARS and they are adding this next month. Which is still not guaranteed solely due to the fact how inconsistent this gym has been. I can 100% guarantee if there was a Body XChange, or an In shape in shafter, this gym would shut down quick. You're better off going to Bakersfield if you want a gym that's actually clean and consistent.

It's in town, 24/7, and they got everything I need to work out. I definitely recommend this gym. Also the app is good to use to check how many people are there and other little things that I enjoyed on the app. Plus they have day passes which alot of gyms don't do. 5 bucks for a day seems good to me, if you are trying to see what type if equipment they have and how the people are too.

They recently rearranged the work out machines & they made it more cramped. They put mostly all the work out equipment in one little room in the back. They moved the AC unit facing one part of the room. Super hot and musty.

Bought the $45 one month membership to check the place out. It was closed for the first 2 days of my membership. First thing I noticed when I walked in the door was that most of the equipment is about 20 years old and looks like it was purchased in an eBay bulk sale from some other gym that was shut down.

The area that (I guess) is meant for stretching is about 6 ft wide and 15 to 20 feet long but that's where people throw their gym bags so I'm not sure if that's really the area for stretching. The equipment is packed in really close together. No air conditioning here. They have an evaporative cooling fan and that's it. Not even a swamp cooler.

Music is really loud during the day and I'm not sure who chooses the playlist but it seems like they just type "ghetto" into an AI playlist generator and roll with it. At night, they turn the music down so it can't be heard from outside but inside it's still really loud. Definitely not a relaxing atmosphere and for somebody on the spectrum this place is basically hell.

Limited parking but at the same time, this is a really small gym. The app said there were only 10 people there when I went and it seemed crowded inside.

I consider this a $45 lesson: If it's in Shafter, like most other things in Shafter, you might as well drive 25 miles into Bakersfield.

This is everything I would expect from a gym in Shafter. This place screams "Shafter" very loudly.

I'd much rather drive 25 miles into Bakersfield but at $5.50/gallon and 20mpg, that's the only reason I'll go to this gym. Not by choice but by necessity. This place has a captive audience and people will simply take whatever they can get here because they don't have any other choice.

Great place to lift in Shafter. Enough machines, dumbbells, and 4 squat racks! There is a lot of Hoist equipment. Day pass is an excellent option for me when visiting shafter.

Iron valley fitness is a great place to go and work on your self, and meet new people to build a relationship with because the people and the staff are kind and when their was a issue on checking in the staff immediately got to my message and resolved the problem quickly I would recommend friends and colleagues that live close by to experience Iron valley fitness

- Best time to go early morning ( 4-7 am)
- 5pm to 9 pm, people (teens) standing on equipment just talking. Pretty busy.
- Several “pro-athletes” are too busy that forget to re-rack weights or equipment.
- Overall, there’s always room for improvement.

I love my home town gym, the staff and all the members are familiar faces and supportive people uplifting also honest I have forgotten my phones and also have seen members leave the jewelry on the tables for days everyone there respects others belongings and the weights and equipment are great and Shafter valley fitness is striving always on maintaining the equipment and cleaning and also keep up grading equipment.
