We focus on relationships with our members, customer service that exceeds your expectations, and exceptionally educated Coaches eager to help you get the most out of your workouts. More than that even, it’s a place where your health is our #1 priority. Our clients want to be able to feel good when they play with their kids or grandkids. Our clients want to work out in such a way as to maximize their health and well being, not just their biceps. That’s what we give them. All our memberships include a top level Fitness Coach, who will take you through workouts co-designed by our Physical Therapists, Postural Specialists, and Fitness Coaches.

IMOC is awesome and reliable for getting my body from a terrible situation to performing its best. I came here before and got fit and then moved, had health problems, moved back to the area and the health problems went away as I returned. All of the trainers are amazing and each have something unique to give. I recommend this place for all ages and especially people with health/muscle/weight issues. They will fix it!

IMOC has the best QUALITY coaches (Coach Edgar, Chris, Kaitlyn, and Mark). It’s been about 7 years now since I’ve trained here. Coaches at IMOC have a deep knowledge of how the body works. Upon discharge from the physical therapy side, I knew I wanted to find a place to continue on the path of getting strong and overcoming my low back pain. IMOC is different from other fitness places because of the HIGH quality of their coaches and their HIGH standards. I started out with their lead coach, Coach Edgar. He is THE FITNESS GURU! His passion is to help people heal and get stronger and this comes out through his interactions and engagements. I used to fear holding anything more than 10 pounds or would get stuck getting out of bed because of the discomfort in my back. I don’t fear anymore because Coaches at IMOC are well trained to adapt the exercises to my needs and concerns. They have my safety and strength goals in mind. Recently, my low back pain came back and I felt stuck again. I shared my concerns with Coach Mark. He was able to advise me on stretches and exercises that helped release my tightness and discomfort. Like other coaches here, he works from a place of heart and care. His attention to detail helps to optimize my exercises and be pain-free. He has my goals and safety in mind. With his guidance, I’ve been pain free and worry-free! Truly magical. IMOC is my forever fitness GEM! Thanks to everyone at IMOC for making a huge difference in my life. If you are looking for customize workout and exercise to improve your health and fitness, this is THE place. Not like typical gym. Small group and with watchful eyes and great instructions, you will have by far more chance to achieve your goals.
You will know what I’m talking about when you go to visit the gym to assess and talk about your fitness goals. They will make you feel like it’s achievable.

I had to re-hab from a serious cervical spine surgery. When I was deciding on what Physical Therapy center to go to, I had a friend recommend IMOC which she had used and successfully treated a serious shoulder injury. IMOC hit it out of the park with me. I'm a musician who was unable to play due to the cervical spine issues causing numbness in both hands.. After PT at IMOC I regained full use of my hands and am playing away. The post surgical re-hab was critical in regaining function, and preventing re-lapse. Once released from PT, I continued my work in their fitness center that has been vital to increasing strength and mobility. Every therapist I have worked with here has been fantastic, proactive, attentive with great positive energy. I feel like they have become friends as well as healers. Fabulous place. highest recommendation.

I’ve been coming to this gym for the past 1.5 years, after completing 6 months of physical therapy for severe back pain. The experience has been really great! IMOC is a unique fitness experience! I come from an athlete background and I’ve always stayed active, but after a neck injury I felt down and out for a couple years…coming out of a great experience on the PT side, I needed coaching in the gym to help me overcome my mental fears of injuring myself again and gaining back strength. I've been at In Motion OC in Irvine since they began the fitness program 15 years ago! I've stayed this long because I enjoy the small group training sessions and the proximity to the physical therapy clinic next door. I went to IMOC fitness from 2017 until COVID in early 2020, then started back up Jan 2024. Both times, I have done the eight, 1-hour, semi-private training sessions per month. The app has a pretty good user interface for signing up for classes (and cancelling if necessary). My favorite aspect of IMOC, and what I think is their biggest differentiator, is the deep connection to physical therapy. Many of the fitness trainers also have experience in physical therapy, so they have been able to help me work through a number of injuries and tailer my workouts around that. That is a big deal! They have helped me understand my pain better than I otherwise could have, and have given me exercises, stretches, and rolling techniques to help solve the problem. For example, I had shoulder pain for months in late 2023, and they helped me strengthen and get my shoulder to a place where I could use it without pain in the first month or two of 2024. More recently, they added more rigorous fitness tracking to the program, which is nice. The equipment is diverse and good quality too (I particularly love the sled). All of the trainers are friendly and encouraging. They are good at staying below the line where encouragement can turn into something more negative. I have always felt welcome and comfortable in that space, and it very much doesn't have a toxic gymbro vibe at all. The other clients I work out next too are quite diverse in background, age, and fitness level, which gives the place a good vibe.

I have been with IMOC for years and there are dang good reasons for that!
3 of those reasons being Edgar, Kaitlyn and Mark. The best of the best!
For me, I find that after an injury (I’ve had plenty) it’s easy to get into this mental block. At IMOC the trainers are super knowledgeable and great about tailoring your workouts to ensure you’re challenged without the fear of re-injuring yourself.
They keep me accountable and motivated and have fun team activities like movie nights where you can bring the fam, and weekend hikes where you can get away from the fam! (Jk kinda lol)
Either way, IMOC is like family and I highly recommend coming here if you want to better yourself mentally and physically.

I transitioned to IMOC fitness after completing PT at IMOC (also fantastic) and it’s been such a good experience. I had surgery and was scared to weight lift. The trainers safely pushed me past my fears and I am finally getting to a place where the gym isn’t scary. They are patient and cater to your specific restrictions, needs, and goals. I have been attending IMOC Fitness classes for over 6 years. I came over originally from the PT side with the intent of strengthening my back and core. But over time I have found my entire body strengthened. Perhaps the best part are the coaches! They encourage and laugh with you as you work. My confidence in their knowledge of what is good for building cardio and strength allows me to relax and (mostly) enjoy the workout.

I initially began my journey with IMOC as a patient following a terrible fall. The IMOC Physical Therapy team guided me through recovery until surgery became necessary. When I learned about IMOC expanding their fitness program to Huntington Beach, I was intrigued. Having been mostly sedentary post-fall, I was eager to regain strength and mobility for life's adventures. Remarkably, I was able to start with IMOC Fitness even while in a cast and on a scooter!
Under Edgar and his IMOC Fitness team's guidance, I prepared for the cast removal by strengthening my leg and entire body. Their tailored approach, even amidst my injury limitations, ensured I was ready to transition back on my feet post-surgery. While Physical Therapy targeted specific body parts, IMOC Fitness focused on holistic readiness for life's challenges.
IMOC Fitness is far from a typical gym or trainer workout. With semi-private groups of fewer than 5 people, workouts are customized to individual needs, contrary to what you would get with other trainers or fitness classes. They really know their stuff and understand the science behind it. As a bonus, I've shed about 25 pounds and 5% body fat in the last year. Without IMOC Fitness, I wouldn't feel as confident and strong in the world.
For anyone seeking ongoing strength and readiness for life's journeys, IMOC Fitness is the ultimate destination.

I enthusiastically endorse IMOC fitness for so many reasons. I am a 60 plus year old guy who has had trainers at LA Fitness and Equinox. The experience at IMOC blows them out of the water (by far). I’ve been at IMOC for about 5 months. The first thing I’d like to emphasize is that all 5 trainers are the best I’ve ever experienced (by far). They genuinely care about you. They are extremely knowledgeable and explain the reasons behind what they are asking you to. They regularly check to make sure as to how you are doing physically. When I’ve been a drop sore, the trainers have gone above and beyond to help me. I appreciate that. Each trainer designs a program specific for you. They listen, they care, they are great. Kudos to Edgar, Katelyn, Kevin, and Mark. In terms of cost, I find IMOC extremely affordable for what you are getting in return. Equinox was about $1,500 per month plus the $300 monthly gym cost . Ouch. The thing I want to emphasize is the trainers, the workout experience and the workout space at IMOC is vastly superior to a place like Equinox at a fraction of the cost. As a 60 plus year old male, I decided to prioritize my fitness. I am so glad I chose IMOC in my fitness quest. Oh, by the way, IMOC is community oriented. I love that in a monthly basis they offer hikes and other get- togethers for their members. I want to give a big shout out to Edgar and his team. I’m grateful for the team at IMIC.

Everyone that works here is fantastic. From the physical therapy, massage therapy, and the personal fitness coaches, I had a stellar experience with the folks that helped me recover from an unfortunate accident while lifting. There's a very positive and welcoming vibe in this facility, and I was met with compassion and patience while I basically had to relearn proper body mechanics due to a decade of being hunched over at a desk job. Shout out to Garret and Mark! It's great that the physical therapists, massage therapists, and fitness coaches all work together and share notes. My massage therapist would note a particular injury or weakness and we would work on it on the gym side of this facility. It's pretty convenient that all of this is neatly laid out in a single place of business. I wouldn't hesitate to check this place out if anyone is suffering from an injury or just need a massage in general!

The trainer/coaches here are all excellent! I have been working out here for the past year and the workouts and exercises are always different, and the variety makes it fun! The coaches are very knowledgeable in kinesiology and muscle groups, and they know how to tweak or recommend an exercise that will help whatever issue you're having. A year ago I couldn't walk more than half a mile without my back going into spasms and now I'm walking 2 1/2 miles. I am confident I will continue to improve, thanks to my ongoing training and the care of the coaches here. So much different than a "regular" gym!!! Highly recommend and I've already signed up for the entire year of 2024!

I am 79! I have been going IMOC Fitness for over 7 years after a couple of years in the PT side. I vowed to never return to PT but to strive for strength and flexibility which I have gained from the Fitness side. I could not have done this on my own without the help of the trainers who have a specific program for me and they teach me to do the exercises correctly and then they watch to make sure I am doing it correctly and help me change if necessary. They never let me fall back on the excuses of my age. The trainers are absolutely excellent! This is a gift I give to my health and hope to continue for years to come.

Love this gym and all the trainers! I’ve been working out with Edgar, Katelyn, and Kevin who are so fun, friendly, knowledgeable, supportive, and just fantastic. They truly meet you exactly where you are in your fitness journey, whether you’re a seasoned athlete, someone who was formerly active and looking to get back in shape, or a true beginner with no prior experience, and they design personalized workouts to get you on track. The workouts are done in a small group setting (max 5 people per session), yet the workouts are different for everyone, as the workouts are personalized and tailored to you and your situation (goals, injuries/physical limitations, etc). I feel challenged and stronger after every workout, yet the trainers also ensure my workouts are done safely at a sustainable pace, which have allowed me to make significant progress while preventing pain, overuse, and injuries. Most of all, the workout sessions are fun, and I always look forward to my training sessions at IMOC Fitness.
Now ~6 months later, I’m feeling the most strong and energetic I’ve felt in YEARS. I went from being quite new (and anxious) about strength training to being very confident taking on various types of challenging exercises with increasingly heavier weights each week. I’ve been very happy with my progress and am looking forward to making even more progress in the coming year. I personally couldn't have imagined myself to be where I am today, and couldn't have done it without the support of the IMOC fitness team! I highly recommend you give this place a try!

I started at the PT side of IMOC and eventually started training at the fitness side with Edgar and his associates. I’ve found all the trainers to be very knowledgeable in all aspects of fitness, training and living a healthy life. All the equipment is newer and they have everything I need to train hard. I have been a client of in motion for many years. It all started with a back injury and working with their PTs. They did a great job to get me back to working strength. However, my insurance was maxed out, and they referred me to IMOC fitness. As a highly active person, I find myself getting injured on a regular basis. While working with IMOC fitness, I have been able to avoid injuries through proactively working on a specific exercise plan designed to strengthen my weaknesses. After having back surgery to address a herniated disc, maintaining physical fitness became a major priority for me. After a consultation with Edgar, I was glad to see In Motion OC's high level of care extended to their fitness program. After 50 years of playing sports and exercising in various gyms, I finally found a place where I can achieve my goals the RIGHT way. In the last 5 years, I spent more time at IN MOTION in the therapy unit(back, knees, elbows, and shoulder) than I did exercising. I was encouraged to go to the trainers at IMOC in order to strengthen my WHOLE body so I can function better at 75 years old. IMOC concentrates on exercises which benefit me. I feel stronger, more flexible and far more confident. I felt so good about their training, I enrolled my 19 year old college grandson . I have been wanting to try weight training for years, but didn’t know how to get started. I wanted to find a place to work out somewhere where I can gain a good foundation in weight training which would prevent me from getting injuries in the future. I’m so glad I found out that IMOC has a fitness program for those who are interested in fitness who don’t need physical therapy. I had driven by the place many times, but never considered it because I thought it was only for physical therapy. I first met with Edgar and liked that IMOC does not try to keep you with some tricky contract. Everything was pretty straight forward and scheduling classes is super convenient. The best part is that the time goes by so quickly with different exercises that are tailored to me. Edgar, Katelyn and Mark have all been very nice and knowledgeable in suggesting what kind of exercises would work best for me. I've been going for about a month, and I feel much stronger and my clothes are fitting better. My main goal was to build more muscle, and happy to say that I can feel that it is working.

The fitness side is top notch in the OC. You can go to the large fitness places and throw weights around but the In Motion OC Fitness staff get you in shape. It is their world and identity as a fitness professional to make sure you are doing proper technique and pushing yourself to the proper limits. I first met Edgar when I was doing physical therapy at In Motion. I had reached a point in my recovery that I was ready to do more in depth training and workouts. Problem is, I know myself and I am not one to do this on my own. I need coaching and accountability! Enter Edgar - introduced to me by my physical therapist Maddy. Maddy assured me she would consult with Edgar regarding my PT and I would not be asked to do anything that would put me at risk of injury. I should have never feared! The work I do with IMOC further strengthens the areas I had been focused on in PT. I am very happy with my progress!

I picked IMOC Fitness because I've worked out for years with other trainers but have had recurring injuries that kept me from progressing. I've done physical therapy at In Motion OC and had great results so I decided to try IMOC Fitness. Because the trainers are top-notch and work with physical therapists, they know how to make subtle changes in what I'm doing (form, breathing, stretching, plan, etc) that already have me feeling great as I workout. No more pain after a workout! I've had 3 of the 4 trainers so far and I like them all. They're friendly, kind, and REALLY knowledgeable.
I also love the community feel at IMOC Fitness. There's only 5 people per workout session, so you build a sense of community quickly. I'm new (this is my 4th week) and members smile and chat with me.
I like that IMOC Fitness members are all different levels of fitness. This is not an intimidating gym or a pick-up place! Just good people getting a good, safe, effective workout!
