Bad customer service. There is almost no way to get in contact with anyone who can help you. It all has to be done through the app. Their phones are always down and their management only works 8-5, so if you do too, you have to waste your lunch break to drive to one of the gyms for help, only for the manager to not follow up with your concern.
The equipment is never in the right location and machines are noisy and unmaintained with years of wear. That goes for the yoga mats and weights too. Inshape charges for a premium gym membership but they don’t even maintain their equipment or make sure that anything goes back to their designated spaces. The gym is always at capacity and you can never find an open machine, space, or even parking spot. Not to mention when the steam room was down for like 6 months, and the sauna is always way too full with nowhere to sit or stand.
I was told by workers that the only gym that is well taken care of is the Seven Oaks location. And who wants to pay $99+ a month to get snubbed by snobby members and employees?
The lack of customer service and care leaves a bad taste in my mouth. No one cares enough about their jobs to help. Will not be returning to inshape gyms.

This location is absolutely terrible. It’s always dirty, has constant holes in the wall and broken cable machines. Don’t go in the evenings it’s even worse! It’s a high school hangout spot, little kids everywhere lounging around taking up space (not working out). Today, kids were playing soccer with a weighted ball upstairs! It’s terribly managed in the evenings. Highly do not recommend!

I have been coming here for years. About 20. The club on coffee is getting filthy and I’m definitely considering canceling. The parking lot, the inside of the gym is in disrepair and the floors are dirty too. There are employees standing around chatting rather than cleaning. If it stays this way they will definitely be losing my business and maybe many others.

I absolutely love all the fitness classes In-Shape offers! My favorites are Body Pump and Aqua Fit—they’re such a great mix of strength and fun. All the instructors are so nice and helpful, which makes every class enjoyable and motivating. Highly recommend!

I just had one of the worst experiences at a gym, I went in to In Shape on Coffee Road and spoke with the manager Marisol about a man that I felt was following me around the gym, she made me talk about it infront of everyone going in to the gym, didn’t even ask me to go to an office for privacy, she didn’t fill out any paperwork, she didn’t even file paperwork, all she told me was that she know him and he has a routine , he is not following me around, I down outside he swims outside, I swim inside he swims inside, I decide to walk on the treadmill me walks on the treadmill, Wednesday July 16 I had to hide from him in the parking lot because he was turning his head everywhere trying to see where I went , I’m not crazy and I just felt so

So over a year ago I signed up for this gym. About 3 months in I lost my income and the gym's app won't let you cancel your membership for the sole purpose of controlling and cheating you because they know a lot of people, like myself, have severe social anxiety and won't go in person nor call to cancel the membership. They charge $5 for a hold, which I held on from June 2023 to the end of July 2024, amounting to $60 for literally just storing my information. As a programmer, I assure you that it costs less than a cent in storage and electricity to store this data, so $5 is more than 500x what it actually costs. A few months ago while still being on hold, it also proceeded to charge me for the almost $100 yearly fee, because once again, you can't cancel on the app because they are purposely trying to stop you, not because it can't be programmed. Of course, seeing as I still don't have a source of income to draw from, that yearly fee sent my bank account into the negative and I got charged all sorts of fun fees that I can't possibly pay off. So I sincerely hope you take my review into consideration and realize that despite the fact that the place is okay and clean, the way it is run with the app is very shady. They also have a window that looks in from the gym to the pool. Gym bros can't help but stare at my wife or me when we're not fully clothed. I don't know what genius thought that was a good idea, but that window should be removed or covered up completely. Don't go here until they get their act together.

Edit: Look at their response that explains the situation perfectly. They first lure in with an email address, but then want to schedule a time to "talk", not email back and forth, aka we will attempt to manipulate you through talking, because these companies usually teach employees how to manipulate people. (My wife was taught this by BestBuy even.) Email is perfectly suited to an informal quitting of a service. Even better, put it into the app and stop this forceful behavior. Your service will do better if you don't act shady and just let people join and quit at will. Geez.

Update July 2025 (this was many-many months ago): So at some point they altered their system to allow you to cancel but only if you don't have a hold. If you have a hold they make you either send an email or personally contact them. This is still shady no matter how you look at it. Go figure though, I figured out that the unsurprisingly bad programming on their system allows you to alter things at will with no verification. I don't need to tell you what that means, but I think that you can figure it out. They did not respond to the cancellation email promptly (many weeks) and seemed to be ignoring it frankly, so I changed some things as a backup measure if they tried more of this, and near the end of the month it finally cancelled. Although I never actually got a response, it just looked like automated cancellation systems doing their thing. So I don't know if it was done manually or if their system detected the invalid data and had to terminate it. Either way, this is a completely inappropriate way to run any business. Oh, and by the way, since I quit this gym I lost 100lbs and I have gotten very strong and healthy. Turns out nutrition, basic free weights, and basic cardio are extremely effective. Save yourself the stress and pay for what you actually need, healthy food and $150 of free weights.

Staff is very friendly. I’m here visiting and I decided to train legs here today, the guest passes are EXTREMELY overpriced at $20 and this gym has hands down has the WORST leg machines I’ve ever used. All 3 legs extensions absolutely suck and so does every hamstring machine in the facility. Even the calf machines suck. They feel like the cheapest machines I’ve ever used, I had to adjust every single machine multiple times and never got them positioned correctly, the only thing worth using is the squat rack and that’s pretty hard to mess up. I do not recommend training legs here. Waste of time and money. You’ll be better off going to planet fitness. However the staff is great and I’ve had decent chest/back days.

I haven’t been to the gym in many years and thought it would be just like my other experiences. Oh was I wrong. The staff is absolutely amazing, the classes are so fun and the teachers are so great. After several years i decided to try in shape again. After 4 visits i came down with bronchitis and a nasal infection. I have not been sick in over 3 years. I started feeling symptoms. Overall a great club, but the main amenity that I’m paying for is the treadmill. With that said, majority of the Matrix treadmills do not hit the speeds that they claim. For example I will set the treadmill to 8.5 but I’m still able to fast walk at that speed, which does not make since, even if I turn it up to max, the treadmill speed itself does not increase…..there has only been one treadmill that I know works, so I just have to hope that one is available everytime I come in.

This place is useless if you have kids. I've been paying for a 6-person membership, and I've been coming since 2019. I recently started bringing my 2 year old and they were letting him in the big kid area when it was slow and now they changed their rules and he isn't allowed over on that side and they call me if he goes where he isn't allowed and now i need to leave. As a baby that can't communicate I think it's crazy they just expect him to listen and they also have no lock on the bathroom and I've been in formed that they are sorry my baby is wet but he was in the toilet because that door is just left open also. They only have 2 staff working and like 30 kids and that seems like way to many per adult watching.

Manager must have a good sense of humor. Made a review after the wife requested they change at least one tv in the back row to Fox so you could get a different perspective on the news than all set to msnbc/cnn. 26 tvs at upper deck cardio area. 2 last week on Fox in the front of the gym out of 16 and one of them blacked out where you get poor reception. Told they don’t have remotes and can’t change it! This weekend, that particular tv now tuned to msnbc as well, kinda funny! Probably be dropping the family’s membership at end of the month. Already abandoned the white lane gym, it got too dirty. Drive past the California Ave gym because it’s too small and overcrowded. Drive the extra 4 miles on the weekends to come to the Coffee rd gym but if we have to watch msnbc/cnn on 8 tvs and 3 non working tvs and now only one tv out of 26 on Fox after being told they’d fix it
Promptly. I think I need a change along with my buddy who already bailed. I can buy a nice squat rack to supplement all the equipment I had to buy when they closed for 2 years for a lot less than I pay in dues. We already work out at home during the week anyway. If I want to do cardio and watch tv I can just grab a $10 membership at Plantet Fitness. Or maybe someone can figure out the remote and customer service. Just saying.

I just signed up at this gym. I transferred from Planet Fitness. I’m actually disappointed. There were balls of hair in the ladies showers, some weight areas have marks all over the walls, free weights everywhere and outdated. The place needs a makeover for sure. Paint the walls, replace free weights with newer ones, or something. The pay isn’t crazy expensive but still a pretty penny. I’ll update my review if I see any improvements.

The moment I walked in the door i felt like a billion bucks and the buffest man alive. The woman at the front desk, Kate, was not only the most beautiful woman i had ever seen but also a very special person that made everyone feel special. Frist impressions to me are almost as big as my muscles and i would pay triple just to hang out at the front check in all day . Ive been happily married for 50 years to my beautiful wife peggy. BUT id risk it all for a date with that lady. Id sell or buy a farm for her. if she wants to travel id call up elon musk and get her a ticket to mars... in fact. im calling him now. 2 tickets to mars for that special that person that makes everyone feel special. if you havent locked her in with a 6 figure salary id do it soon! id do it myself but how my fixed income is....and peggy.... anyways. the place was clean. i can tell those boys cleaning it are working hard cause they smell like sweat and chemicals. keep up the good work boys. maybe next time ill work out .. but i feel the best i have my whole life already...kudos in shape you picked some winners.

Not a fan of inshape due to their CS. I enjoy their equipment and from time to time there is some issues with the adjustments because the equipment is old. But I do not how they come out of nowhere and when you want to leave their gym they give you hidden fees that you are never told about. Then when you go to use the pool and hot tub they have black mold, the sauna at the California location had to close their sauna because there was a weird smell. They need to up the cleanliness on all of their equipment and locations. It’s ridiculous because you are paying $35-$45 a month to go to inshape

As someone who genuinely enjoys the gym as a source of pleasure and stress relief, I must express my deep disappointment with this establishment. There seems to be a culture of disregarding customers' enquiries and concerns. It is disheartening to witness how rudeness from some guests is seemingly accepted and left unaddressed by the gym staff. I have personally experienced poor treatment in more than one occasion without any action taken to rectify the situation. This lack of accountability and support for members' well-being is concerning, and it undermines the overall experience at the gym. Sadly, I've canceled my membership as a result, as I believe a gym should foster a supportive and respectful environment for all its members.

My husband and I are both in our late 60's and have been going to In-Shape since Dec. 2022. We wanted to get into shape for kayaking this summer. We have be using the pool 3 days a week and are enjoying the indoor pool, for our exercise routine. The pool is great, the locker rooms clean and the staff very friendly. We have met some great people there and can recommend it to anyone, no matter your age.

I mainly joined because of the pool and I love the aquafit classes. They are fun and challenging But not discouraging at all. Elizabeth's energy and attitude is infectious and she makes it so fun. The hardest part for me is getting out LOL I never want to leave.

I usually like this gym, but the manager is unprofessional and treats her employees terribly. I feel bad for them honestly and at least hope that they get paid good enough. The manager came off as rude and overly demanding. Maybe try one of their other locations where that specific manager is not there.

After years of going, I just quit going here. This place is 45.00 a month to use only one gym.
I went to Chuze fitness, where it's just 10.00 a month for basically the same perks and it's much cleaner.

My first time writing a review due to how bad their staff is. I had a membership and wanted to cancel as I was moving. Their staff had told me they canceled the membership (in-person), and I should receive an email. I did not receive an email and they continuously billed me for 7 months (because I had moved and they only do cancellations in person). When I came in again, they were unhelpful and put my account on a hold. Only to charge me again to remove the hold and another full month.

Estimated cost due to untrained employees was more than $500 for me.

This a classic example of employees being trained to make the company profits without caring about customers.

I love the kid zone teachers Cat and Betty, Steph and Yarii!! They are the sweetest & treat all the kids so kind.. they have such warming hearts & that's why I feel comfortable leaving my daughter in their care while I work out. Theres no better than them here! Also Katelyn shes so nice and helpful, shes helped me use some machines that I did not know the functioning of. Also thee Bryson and A-Aron recommending some helpful workouts one time. Katelyn is the best front person there. Also Lexiee calling me and my daughter queens, ya'll have the best workers at this location by far.

It’s been 7 years, and still no improvement. Most treadmills are not maintained regularly; others out of order, they make horrible screeching sounds or shake, and you waste most of your time jumping from one to the other looking for a good one. Frustrating, It still sounds like a old packaging factory, not to mention the music is horrible, no variety.

The In shape on coffee Rd. First time there. I was greeted by a young lady name Brianna. She is very professional and passionate about helping clients and providing exceptional service guided by empathy and respect. Had a smooth experience! Love this gym.

Vehicles are broken into in the parking lot on a daily basis. InShape does nothing about it. They don't even sweep up the broken glass, they just leave it laying on the asphalt for days and sometimes weeks.

Been going here for a couple years. Staff is amazing, it's clean, and has great workout equipment. My only issue is as a paying customer for years, they took away some amenities and put them behind a pay wall now. So things like the inscan body scale I now have to upgrade my membership to use. Honestly, don't know if it's worth keeping my membership if you just lose things that were once free with your membership.

In Shape on Coffee is anti Fox news as they always make sure that the Fox News channels are rarely working and when I ask for it to be corrected well no one is capable and they always forget to tell a manager on days because they do not have a manager on during evenings. .
