I absolutely love the sauna, outside shower and cold plunge pool after my workout. I feel amazing when I leave. I often enjoy the dark, quite, peaceful yoga room as well. It's a great place to stretch and exercise. My kids love the kids club here too.

I'm a member of this gym and I love it. I go to the water aerobics classes on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Nick is the instructor and he is great.
As far as the gym is concerned the people are very helpful and the gym is very clean.
I recommend this gym to anyone who is interested.

Will you please hire a professional company that is pool/spa certified? The spa when working, which has been super hit or miss, is constantly dirty but that isn't even the reason for this review, it's the fact that the spa is down on a regular basis and predominantly for the chemical inaccuracy which is a huge health concern. I feel I've been very patient but today I really needed to use the spa and it's yet empty again with a TBD sign. I hope the right management person addresses this ongoing issue.

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit In-Shape Carmichael Fitness center! It was an experience worth recommending. From the moment I walked in, I could tell it was a well-maintained facility with a welcoming atmosphere. The gym area was clean, the equipment was in excellent condition, and there was plenty of space to work out comfortably!!
One of the highlights of my visit was the swimming pool. The water was crystal clear and maintained at the perfect temperature, making every lap feel refreshing and effortless. After my swim, I relaxed in the hot tub, which was just as impressiveβwarm, soothing, and the perfect way to unwind after a workout.
Overall, my experience at Carmichael location was fantastic! It provided a great balance of exercise and relaxation, and I would highly recommend it to anyone!! With love, Yulia H.

Smaller and older than the Citrus Heights gym, but still has all the amenities. I love the heated saltwater pool & jacuzzi. There's both a steamroom and a dry sauna. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is that Family Fitness is too expensive. There is a sign-up fee, a monthly fee, and an annual fee.

Terrible customer service! You are only $$$ to this place!
They billed the incorrect amount so I emailed them to ask why my monthly payment had gone up. I received an automatic response stating someone would be contacting me shortly and not to send another email as they are answering in the order they are received. The first email I sent was on April 3rd, 2024, Iβm still waiting for a response as of today. I waited 5 days before sending another email as I wanted the communication in writing. I cancelled my card on file and they started emailing me like crazy. Hmmmβ¦.you want to ensure you get your money but arenβt responsive to my inquiries? It was sent via a βNo Replyβ email so I couldnβt respond. I finally caved and went to a location to speak with the manager. If I hadnβt spoke to a manager on May 1st Iβd probably still be waiting. The manager totally disregarded the email concern and had an attitude during the conversation. She approached me and asked, βhow can I help you?β Then proceeds to answer the phone. She hung up the phone and started talking to an employee. She then looks at the computer and grabs the mouse and said, βSo what do you need help with?β Some people should be in customer service. I brought to her attention how rude she was being and she seemed to calm the attitude down once she actually took the time to understand why I was there. By the end she finally had her guard down. She had the nerve to ask me if I was interested in personal training. Sorry maβam but after this experience I refuse to contribute any more money to this place nor am I interested in helping you achieve your revenue goals for the month. It shouldnβt take all this effort to get help on a billing question.
The previous ownership use to be customer centric. This company is greedy!

The gym is ok. In fact I will change ratings back to 5 stars when something is done about this.
They are requiring their staff to finish cleaning/tidying up before a certain time and that really upsets people who come for sauna/steam rooms at the end of their day.
They turn off sauna way earlier than closing time. It became frequent and we were even asked to step out (around 8 pm) for cleaning.
Please let us use amenities we pay for the time you advertise for. Pay a little overtime to somebody but donβt kill the joy for your members. This gym used to be open until 11β¦

In general, the fitness room is not bad enough. I go swimming and love the sauna. I recommend this club to friends, but it is very slippery in these places. please put rubber mats to prevent unpleasant situations. I personally fell due to the slippery floor and had to go to an ambulance. otherwise I'm satisfied

Well I been having a wonderful experience until today I feel kind of like I was discriminated against because I brought a mermaid tail I been bringing all month and today the lady randomly tells me I can't bring that in there with no explanation no nothing I read pool rules and regulations and it only said no outside flotation devices unless the manager says it's okay but I see hundreds of people coming in with fins to swim around in so why am I the only one being singled out?

Love this place! Been a member since 2013. I especially love the pool because it's not all roped for lanes, it's seven feet deep and the temp is good.
Watch out for the little aqua aerobics instructor and his students as they can get very feisty and aggressive when you're in the pool, even if you're clear out of their space.

I visited the fitness address on 7941 Fair Oaks Blvd, Carmichael, CA 95608 for the first time with my family. I am disappointed. First, I bought a membership with the caveat that my kids could use ALL of the pools on the fitness property. Turns out no, they can't use the warm hot tub for heat. Freeze the kids out! I went to the steam room for heat and it was horribly dirty and smelled bad. I think I was duped when they sold me a season ticket. I am writing to warn others who want to contract with the fitness center. I give it a minus!

I came in on a Friday afternoon and we were informed we could not purchase water or any drinks because the register was closed. There was still an hour before closing and we were thirsty from basketball. The guy at the front desk said there is a water fountain. I asked to speak with a manager then he says u can purchase with a card on file. Iβm appalled on if I didnβt have a card on file we would be remain out of breathe and choking on spit. This is ridiculous. Family friendly not at all.

Gym is pretty basic, the pool had 3 lounge chairs floating in it, cancelled my membership and now I'm being charged $300 for not even being there and was told membership will continue no matter if I canceled, go to Planet Fitness, no cancellation fees and no threats of keeping account active after cancellation...

Literally scamming people to where now I have to cancel my card. Yeah. So I called in to cancel my account 2 weeks ago. I have the call records and the FIRST confirmation number
They still try to charge me (even though I literally have this email)
So I call them back and they say "Oh thats funny. I dont even see your cancelation in our system". So he does it again. Giving me a SECOND confirmation number
And guess who just woke up to a 104 dollar payment. :)
I called them for a third time. And she says "oh I see that you requested to be canceled. This is a 'final draft' charge."
Meaning they can keep charging you. ALSO if you cancel your credit card, they literally still keep charging you and send that to COLLECTIONS (yes. meaning they will also ruin your credit)
From further research I have also seen them charge the family of a deceased member. The family told them that the person passes, and cal fit continuned to charge them until they were shown an ACTUAL death certificate.
These people are quite literally trying to take everything you are worth. And its not like we all have 100s that they can take from us. Horrible gym.

I went to the CA fitness on Fairoaks & California because I received a 7 day free trial. When I went to the gym I was not expecting to give a my ID or have to fill out a form with all of my identifying information before becoming a member. But when Iwent in, after explaining why I was there, a young shorter guy asked for my ID and instructed me to fill out a form. He made a copy of my ID which I found alarming and did not like at all. Why are you asking to make a copy of my ID when I haven't even signed any contracts? Very suspect. Then another guy came and took me on a tour. These two young guys kind of mouthed something twice to one another which made me suspicious. Lol...Maybe they were talking about something else but I felt like I was gonna by trapped into signing a contract. Lol. After the very short tour, I sat down to discuss prices. The basic package would be $59.99 per month. I only wanted the Aquatics classes because I have arthritis in my feet, one knees, back and neck and most likely won't me using the other equipment. When I asked how much it would cost to use the pool, the taller man told me that it would cost $25 for each use. The pool is out doors which is not ideal for winter. The gym is old, and the sauna and other spots did not look very clean. It's an open gym so that means there's no separation for men or women. Seems like it would get easily crowded and with COVID around I am not comfortable with how small the gym is. I also did not feel comfortable with giving all of my info and hope that my info will be shredded because there's a lot of fraud going on and unsavory characters work everywhere. At the end of the tour and the discussion regarding prices, I could not see myself paying $65 (taxes included) or more per month for only using t he lool. My review is to give suggestions like having people provide the free 7 day trial email instead of having customers fill out forms and gave their ID photographed. Thank God I've worked for the jail system and criminal court so if anything happens I will know.

Covid restrictions are lifted, but cafam gyms still closes at 21:00- 22:00, you charge same amount $ for membership, but close 2-3hrs earlier than before, thats a rip off. Open your gym till at least 23.00, for night shift workers 10pm is too early. Until then it will be a 1 star review
Came in for sauna and steam room, Not impressed, sauna looks like it needs remodeling. Steam room looked dirty, no water faucet nearby steam rooms thats an absolute no no.

I would have liked to give Cal Fit 5 stars, truly I would have. However nice the gym may be, I cannot excuse the behavior of the membership management team. I signed up for a month-to-month basis with Russel. He seemed kind and genuine, and I explained to him that I did NOT WANT A YEAR MEMBERSHIP (please excuse the yelling, I just feel like you all can hear me better than he did). He told me that he would honor my request, and after my 2nd month, lo and behold, they started charging my card for the next 2 months (even though I paid for the 3 months when I sat down with him). He told me that it seems that we both had a misunderstanding...um no, I clearly told you what I wanted when I signed up, and you scammed me. Sorry Russel, you seemed like a genuine person but your actions proved otherwise.
I've been calling and coming in to speak with Russel for the past month, and am still waiting for 'corporate' to cancel my membership and refund my money.
My advice to you all out there, go somewhere else, and save yourself some headache, (and your money).

I love the equipment. I'm turning 50 and very over weight and I don't feel uncomfortable there. There are a whole mix of people from the serious body builders/athletic types to the tred mill types to other Middle aged and various body types of people. There's a lot of amenities including 1 indoor and 2 outdoor pools, one heated. And a hot tub. I haven't tried the classes yet. The only reason this is not 5 stars is that when I signed up they said the massage chairs were part of the deal but it turns out that you have to pay extra. I had counted on them to help my old bones adjust to working out.

I need the Hot Tub for my nerves and DB2 Neuropathy it helps my feet. I like the steam room it helps my breathing. some of us do come there less for lifting weights than enjoying the Water most gyms don't have and I am fine with that although at times I get brave and use the weights. We just started back on 11/29/2021, I have been coming to FF since before my kids were born and the place just opened in Carmichael. Love the waterfall & hot tub and swimming. My Son and Daughter (both autistic and 21/22 now) love the pool. She swims in the special Olympics - Faith with many medals. Michael likes the coolness for his psoriasis it keeps the body temp down and inflammation. Since I got DB2 has really caused me issues and I stretch in the hot tub it helps along with helping my feet not be so dry.. The last time I was going to FF I was very strong racing motocross and boating but now I sit at home. My plan was to join to get us back out and active and to regain a life lost, it starts at Family Fitness and we will get better as a whole.
