I have to travel from Stockton to find a clean gym . Everything works including the steam room at this location. Tracy ,Stockton and Modesto locations facilities are always broken and not very organized or clean. The Stockton location for crying out load.(Kelly Drive ) . Cares more about collecting cans & bottles than it's members.

All the In-Shape gym locations in Modesto and Ceres are awesome except the one on Floyd! There is a female manager there who's extremely rude and hostile! I had the most embarrassing experience when I invited my girlfriend to get a drink and taste of the gym experience by enjoying a drink and watching me workout from the community area while I worked out for an hour. Unfortunately I was met with an extremely rude and hostile attitude from the manager and was forced to leave. The only thing that allowed me to save face slightly was the fact that I went straight from the Floyd location to the Ceres location where I was met with respect and warmth where we were allowed to buy a drink and she was allowed to hang out and get a taste for the gym experience while I worked out for an hour. Since then she has become a member but we refuse to return to the Floyd location where the equipment is extremely used and the female manager is nothing shy of disrespect and controlling! I certainly recommend every other location then the one on Floyd in Modesto, especially the location in Ceres where the equipment is new and the staff are awesome and respectful, plus the location is clean.⚡💪🏻😎💯

This gym is like scam. Their equipment is too old. Most of them are damaged and not clean environment and there colleagues are not describing our rules of the membership and they will charge you extra money for your cancellation that the beginning they told us there’s no charges but you need to pay $5 more per month and the end of the month, they send me a payment if or if you don’t pay that we will destroy your credit score.

I wanted to take a moment to say that I really enjoy being a member of In Shape the facilities are great.

However, I’ve noticed that some members wear street clothes like sweatpants and tennis shoes into the humid areas (such as the sauna/steam room/pool area). This raises some hygiene concerns, as these areas are meant to be clean and sanitary for everyone’s health and comfort.

I wanted to share this feedback in the spirit of maintaining the high standards that make the gym such a great place. Perhaps a reminder of the dress code or hygiene policy in those areas could help.

I enjoy lap swimming in the pool. There are 2 lap lanes, and members can reserve one of them in advance in 30-minute increments, so you know it will be available to you. Great for my arthritis. I can move much more freely and with very little pain in the water.

Don't join this gym..I called this gym in ceres CA and was told bye Young lady I spoke to to apply for a membership on line as fees were cheaper and I had 5 days to cancel membership that I was getting for my 70 year old mother who lives in ceres..I didn't know if my mother could go or not..my mother was unable to go so I cancelled membership and was told to do on line...I did and was charged 159.00 for a cancellation even though it was within 5 days plus I was charged 48.00 for the first Month and the following month I was charged again even though I cancelled membership... there is no number to call corporate office just email which does not reply to you... this is a c.omplete scam buying a membership at this gym

Absolutely satisfied with the staff at this location very friendly group of individuals and the atmosphere in GYM is welcoming the members have good etiquette and the weights and equipment are self explanatory and magnificent to work with the ease of access to free weights and other amenities are incredible convenient and feel really good to grasp and hold as u build up that inner heat and fat burning muscle sculpting fire to me this GYM is like a place where I shape and sculpt myself without worry of harassment and heartbreak for people who know me that's a significant statement :) I highly recommend this health club to any and all GYM enthusiasts and dedicated fitness individuals too :)

This post is worth reading if u plan to get your child involved in kid zone .the staff is a amazing (nothing to do with them ) however not only is it expensive but extremely inconvenient that there is a wait time 1 hr befor they close .I understand safety but this is the second time I had to wait and was told it was not a forsure that my child would get in due to how much time was left befor it closed I came a little befor 11 and was hoping to work out quick befor work . Came back after the renovation. The new layout is cool. More emphasis on free weights, less on classrooms. Some people may not like that, but I'm for it. I would expect them to be on top of providing the sanitation materials for thr equipment. In post C19, I find that a bit lacking. I've found several cleaning bottles empty at times, and one towel to wipe down all machines? I get that we want to maximize profit - not the way to do it. Otherwise, I dig the place.

It is hard to find cables and also wait for cables like 30 mins because they are always taken. also we can’t find lateral pull down bar. I used to pay $20 and they had everything before. Before they had 4 cable machines, now they only got 2. When we ask them are they getting more cables, but the responses are mixed. Their management doesn’t know if they are getting new equipment i.e., new cables, lateral pull down bars etc.

I really like In Shape! This particular one requires me at 70 to walk upstairs to work out. The pool is small as is the jacuzzi. People visit the steam room fully dressed after working out. They also visit the sauna with work-out clothes on. I find this distasteful since I wear a swimsuit and shower before entering the pool, steam room and jacuzzi. People also mess with the steam room to force it on by opening the door back and forth. They also put plastic over the steam device to force it on.

On December 15th 2019 Sunday morning (10AM) Access to gym amenities were denied. I’ve been an in shape family member since 2003. This has been an ongoing issue that seems to be getting progressively worse. It started with denying access to the equipment in the group room. Now today the group room and cycle rooms were closed. I was also denied access to massage chair room. Typically companies strive to make improvements as time goes on but it seems to be the other way around with In Shape. In-Shape does not value their existing customer needs. If improvements are not made, I’ll have to look for a membership elsewhere.
