It's a good gym! It has all the necessary equipment, but the changing rooms are often dirty, although the staff is friendly. And it's close to home. But it would be great if the gym stayed open until 11-12 pm, as many people would like to train after work when there are fewer people. I often don't have enough time; on weekends and Fridays it's open until 9 pm. Is it possible to extend the opening hours?

The people are nice, and the facility is well equipped, but it is a really dirty gym. They do not keep up with cleaning, especially the floors. The carpet in the reception has gross stains, and the stairs have had gum and who know what else on them for the past 6 months. I have mentioned it to the front desk staff twice, as it is a reflection on their business, but nothing ever changes. If the carpet and stairs are that filthy, you can't help but wonder about the machines.

Warning for children. My special needs son was verbally assaulted by a member, suggesting my son should wear a sign indicating his disabilities. Local management and corporate have done nothing to resolve the situation.And they still allow that person into the gym. Now, my son is afraid to go to the gym.And still, they've done nothing about it. You would hope this would be a safe environment for children.l, clearly not. The incident was witnessed by several people who also complained to the front desk.And they have video.

Good gym but b👌🏻be mindful of signing any 20 pager contracts. I enrolled for one month training program and liked the training so I extended it for other three months. Upon requesting not to continue after three months I was yet to charge for fourth month and told dad that I required to intimate a month prior whereas this was the verbal communication I had that I only wanted it for three months. Not sure if it is fair, but trying to ask if they can adjust that money and leave it on you to guess if it was possible or not

I have been trying to resolve an account conflict issue for a couple of months. I’ve been to three different clubs and no one was able to assist me in assessing what the problem was. When I couldn’t check my daughter into Kids Club Zaria(sp) decided to take time to look into why and figured out the problem! When I asked to speak to the manager to give my praise of Zaria she too sprung into action offering to put in a request to the accounts department to clear it up. While it’s still not resolved, I appreciate the initiative and attentiveness to my concerns from them. I was also able to enjoy the massage chair and yoga class which were both phenomenal!

I wish the selectorized equipment selection were more uniform. It does get busy enough that I sometimes have to check several times before I can get a particular machine (and there are alternatives but I don't like switching between different manufacturers because I want a consistent machine).

WARNING IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR KIDS!!!!! This location in Folsom allowed a grown man to enter my daughter's bathroom in kids care!! WOW!! Then when my wife brings it up they want to say kids make things up when the cameras clearly show something else. Jordan the GM showed zero care that my kid was upset. He actually said there is nothing to fix in the situation. They continue to try an charge the $120 for the following month. Like I said if you care about your kids you will find a different route. Me and my wife have been able to log multiple emails where he completely disregarded the distress my kid is going through due to this situation. Jordan refused to give us his bosses info. Also all documented in email. STAY AWAY IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR KIDS!!!!

DONT PAY FOR TRAINING THERE. I was a member off and on since 1998. They manipulate the training there to keep you buying the overpriced training from trainers who look like they've never stepped foot in the gym. The whole thing is a hustle . They purposely slow your progress or only give you enough information for small gains so you keep buying their training packages. I was told this by 2 different employees at the gym.

Where are you at ? Ive sent emails and have tried to contact HR and nobody wants to give me HR number . How come you tell me to email you and now you dont respond? It's relatively clean here and stocked with hand sanitizer, wipes, and disinfectant spray. Most of the equipment is in great working order and all of the staff seem pretty friendly. Plenty of amenities including a childcare area. I would have to say the greatest negative is that people are allowed to camp out on equipment while others are actually waiting to use the equipment instead of just texting or scrolling through our phones for 20-30 minutes. Would make for a better experience if employees posted signs or encouraged members to allow others to use the equipment if they're not using it properly. I only have two hours while my kids are in the daycare and my days are busy, not being able to use equipment due to campers is a huge bummer. May end up canceling and working out at home instead. Overall it is a great gym just have to consider how this new generation are addicted to their phones and selfishly use equipment as their benches.

We have been using the family fitness gym for 3 years, and since they merged with Inshape it has caused nothing but issues. We first had issues with sunrise which is crappy because its like 10 minute drive, then we started going to folsom and it was great for a while. However I have a HUGE issue with the child care. We overheard staff talking down to a child, we assumed it was their child because no way are they talking to other peoples children this way, WRONG. When wr picked our six year old up friday she was so upset she wouldnt even talk to us for over 30 minutes, then tells me that the lady working told her she could do kidfit or sit in timeout? That is outrageous. Especially since she has a hurt leg and it probably phycially hurt to participate. The moment my child said she didnt want to participate you should have called me, i would have came down and got her. This is not the first issue we have had, and honestly im about to take my buisness elsewhere. Then when i call to complain im talking to the people on the baby side and hear them telling a baby "you get what you get and you dont throw a fit" its wild that you allow your staff to treat children this way. And all In Shape fitness will say is im sorry that was your experience. My husband and ai have complained so many times, and nothing. Absoloutely nothing ever changes. When i complain about equipment, alright whatever ill get over that. But treating my child like that is absoloutely unacceptable. I also did not know that they were required to do kidfit? Hasnt it always been optional!

The manager called me and was very kind, HOWEVER we were there again tonight and someone who does not work there walked in on my daughter, was mean to her, told her to get out of the bathroom? And hes an adult?! Like regardless, i thought it was a parent taking their kid to the bathroom. I once really loved this Gym but im going to have to cancel. The lady manager at the gym was VERY kind as was the lady at the desk, however it was left out that this man had told my daughter to get out and had upset her. I cannot have my daughter in a place where ADULT MEN are walking into a CHILDRENS bathroom, and telling her to get out!? Wild. Waiting on the manager to call me back, because what is being done with the man who should not have been using that bathroom to begin with? Who was mean to my 6yr old daughter. He needs to be held accountable. No adult should be walking into thr childrens bathroom without knocking regardless, and to tell my child to get out when she still needs to go potty?

I started at Cal Fit in the 90s when it was a small gym in Elk Grove. I joined the Folsom gym and was happy there. In Shape took over and I could not be more disappointed. They did a renovation which moved machines from one room so they could turn it into another fee based class area. The machines were crammed in with the rest upstairs. They also cleared machines from a downstairs area and crammed them into the same upstairs area. It's so crowded now, everything is close together, you can see into a strangers soul as you look across from your machine, it's difficult to find a machine available and some members think it appropriate to spend 30-45 min on one machine, so others don't get a turn. When machines break, they are down for a long time. When it was Cal Fit, you would see staff cleaning but not anymore. It certainly isn't Cal Fit anymore and that's not a good thing.

Most ergs are old and extremely dirty nobody cleans them ever it doesn't take that long to wipe down the slide with the spray. Some of the ergs make a horrible sound when you try to row. One time I pulled back on the handle and it didn't have any resistance that's a horrible problem The next stroke was ok but it kept making bad noises so I had to use a pm3. This gym needs to put PM5 on all their ergs and update the software on the PM5 they have. Next time I go I will update the pictures with the ergs. Also ergs are just rowing machines

Really disappointed in the baby DAYCARE side. This is why I haven’t gone to the Folsom in a while because the DAYCARE side for the babies doesn’t seem to be kept the play mat is always dirty. There’s like 20 kids and only two adults. I don’t know how that’s manageable, especially when they are babies. I came to the gym today to drop my babies off and not even five minutes at the gym. They call me to let me know my kid threw up and she threw up because she was crying And nobody really attended to her or knew what to do because when I came back, she was still on the floor crying and they just told me she threw up… Obviously, she threw up because you let her sit there and cry…. You guys need to have more stuff and be more clean and helpful when it comes to kids if you don’t like your job then don’t work there because every time I come there it doesn’t seem like my kid is well taken care of.

I enjoy going to In Shape gyms and can see they are constantly trying to keep verything updated and well cared for, like the equipment. This is a very family oriented gym and there is a lot to do there and many option for people to either get back into shape or maintain their current physique. I have been a member for over 20 years and unfortunately I would no longer recommend this gym. There are, constantly, multiple machines broke down and repairs take months. Bathrooms are dirty and unkept. Since the name change from California Family Fitness they seem to care more about quantity than quality. My dues go up every year but quality of the gym goes down. I spoke with a manager regarding my concerns and was told they have to go through corporate to get repairs which he blamed for lengthy repair timeframe. The once family friendly, clean, multiple machines to choose from gym is gone. I understand companies wanting to grow but not at the customers expense.

Closes lap pool w no warning. It’s the only thing I use there and after a 45 minute drive it’s closed? I call today and the guy that answers doesn’t even know if it’s open. He checks and says maybe 24-48 hours, “call back to check”. Now that’s poor customer service. The attitude of the people reflect management there. The people at RC Sunrise are much more helpful and considerate but their lap pool on Sunrise and 50 is under renovation so I’m quitting and will pay up for Lifetime.

One of the better ones and cleaner calfit I have been to. Now its InShape. I have been a member for many years and like going there.

One thing I like is they close off one section around 5:30 or so for an hour or more for paid classes, and recently they added more machines but as a result reduced floor space for people who want to work on the yoga mat.

For some time, they had many breakdowns (faucets, urinals, some exercise equipment, hot tub, and steam room), but now everything seems to be working well.

We just absolutely love our gym! We’re a family of 5 with two young kiddos and a teenager. The kids love going to Kid Zone and the three of us get to workout knowing they’re in good hands! The amount of equipment available is also so nice. Even during peak hours, I’m hardly having to wait for a squat rack or bench. (We have been so frustrated by that at other gyms, and ultimately what led us to In-Shape). I love that we have access to a dry sauna at the gym too! Everything is always clean. The staff are always extremely friendly and helpful. We tried out Lifetime before joining here, and everyone agrees it’s so much better :) I couldn’t recommend it more to anyone looking for a new gym; especially for families!

We are visiting from out of town. I wanted to take my disabled daughter swimming. I called beforehand to make sure the pool was open. A super friendly young man was very helpful and let me know that it was open and for a reasonable fee of $25 for me and $10 for my daughter I could absolutely take her swimming.
The front desk girl was equally as friendly and helpful in filling out the waiver. Easy peasy.
The gym was spacious and very clean. But best of all, for my disabled daughter in a wheelchair, everything was well marked and easy to navigate. Two handicap bathroom stalls. One large shower with a bench and two private dressing areas. The counters were perfect height. It was easy to maneuver her wheelchair through the locker room and through the gym to the pool. A large lap pool, a hot tub and two separate recreational pools were outside. Lots of choices! And while it was early November, the kid's water park looked super fun for summertime!
A great experience from the disability perspective. From the first phone call to exit. Highly recommend this gym!

Been a member for almost 30 years and I love the gym, but they are not staying on top of the equipment, to make sure it is working properly, just pretty typical of service you get today, just enough to get by, the staff is really good and friendly, they just have to apologize about anything that is out of their hands.

They have a great selection of free weights and machines! My only complaint is their limited hours. I am literally about to drop my membership with them in favor of a gym with better/longer hours cus it just sucks that they are closed at 8pm on weekends!

One important thing that nobody takes shower before entering the pool unfortunately, this is a very poor management that they don't Inforce the requirement of cleanliness and avoid getting sick from people who are entering the pool unclean....... you can put a big post " shower before entering the pool" and assign one person to check people until it is enforced. And eventually it will after some timmes

California Family Fitness in Folsom has a nice facility with lots of great, well-maintained machines. It was a great place to workout during a visit with a friend.

First of all I love this place. This is my local gym and me and my kids enjoy it here a lot. The staff are respectful and the training devices are clean. I would say though you guys should clean your pools for any moss. especially in the big pool and the spa. Still love this place and there is no better Family Fitness I have went to! :) will give this a 5 just please improve the pools.

CalFit Folsom is a great gym! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The gym is also well kept and very clean. I feel very comfortable and confident working out at this location. The KidsClub is also a huge plus for me!! Only thing I'd change is for the hours on Friday and Saturday to be longer. It would also be great if on Sunday and Saturday the KidsClub hours were extended past 1pm so I could go after work as well. Other than that, it's a great gym to be apart of!

Love the aquatics class - excellent teacher, supportive environment. Continually frustrated by the sand in bottom of pools and spa. It's been years and there's no sign they ever vacuum. Seems like a basic thing to do. Have requested vacuum at front desk and to Corporate and have never seen movement on this front.

Currently I am thrilled that you’re trying to do an open gym to accommodate our fitness needs as well as letting us use the pool during these hot summer days. I can’t wait to use it this week. It’s really the best gym I’ve been to, and I’ve been to many, including Stanford university gyms as an employee. The multitude of equipment, pools, childcare, exercise classes and all around facilities is fantastic!

I wish I lived in the area so I could frequent this gym more often. This is a beautiful two-story fitness facility with a huge pool and even a barbecue area where you can eat lunch and do pull ups. The entire facility was very clean and I don’t think I saw one piece of equipment that was, broken or being fixed anywhere. They have basketball, racquetball, a kids club, and a pretty large and spacious locker room. I also really appreciated the large number of hand sanitizing dispensers in the facility.

The hypocrisy of this gym is disgusting. For supposedly being in the business of health, well-being, fitness, increasing self-confidence, etc., they certainly have a strange way of showing that. I'm from out of town and they used to have a 2 day program for $25. Now, for some reason, they feel it's appropriate to charge $25 PER DAY! This review probably won't change anything regarding their horrible customer service but I'll sleep better at night knowing I've done my part exposing the fact that this gym really doesn't care about you or your health. They just want your money. Sad but true.

Facility seems nice, but we were unable to regularly used the facility due to understaffing.

They offer childcare services but they were always full when we tried to use the gym.

"We are working on it" - "We are doing the best we can" - "We are hiring as fast as we can"

Since they weren't able to use the gym regularly we cancelled, now gym is being abusive and threatening collections
