I'm thankful that Inshape Manteca management support Ms. Erica our Zumba instructor. She's able to openly fundraise at other gyms, like Fitness-Pro Gym, for great causes and now we're already gearing up for another project and practicing at Crunch Gym with my InShape Lodi’s we are practicing very hard as Ms. Erica is gearing up this endeavor once more like last year. I wasn’t part of this events last year but; this year I made beautiful dakilang Kaibigan (great friends) Thank you to Inshape Management at Manteca for not having any conflicts between gyms or events as we need the location to practice.

I was a member at the In-Shape Manteca location for 4 months since moving to the area and my experience ended in complete frustration. I pay extra every month for the guest pass benefit and, for three months straight, I brought my 18-year-old brother with no problems. His ID was verified and approved on his very first visit.

Team Leader Sarah suddenly denied him entry after he had a scanned barcode to enter the gym for the last three months that we have been working out together. This was not only embarrassing but also unacceptable, considering I had been paying for a service that was no longer being honored. If the gym wants to change its policy, members deserve proper communication — not to be turned away at the door after following all the rules.

The lack of professionalism and consistency made my decision easy: I canceled my membership that same day. I refuse to keep paying for a gym that does not respect its members or deliver the services it charges for.

Good gym but could use a few improvements. Like most gyms it does get very packed around 5-9 pm. One thing I really don’t like about it is how it closes at 8pm on weekends. Overall I think it is ok, not the best but not the worst. It’s a bit pricey, but I think it is worth it, it has some amenities the other gyms in manteca don’t have.

Only cause it's a massive corporation is this fun surviving. What do staff even do but talk to people. Dumbbell rack always missing more than half, and people aren't even using them just scattered. Parking is a joke, outside equipment has never been cleaned. Rusted so bad it struggles to move, so you can't even get a good workout

I would give the gym 5 stars but there's anarchy as far as people re-racking their weights. That's a quick way to get your membership suspended or canceled at some other gyms I've been to over the years. I guess if they did that though, they won't have any members.

As far as the staff, equipment and the gym itself, it's easily the best gym that I've been to as far as I can remember, and I've been to gyms all over the country and world.

I’ve been coming to this gym since 2017 and have always loved it. One thing I really miss, though, is when it used to be open 24 hours on weekdays that was a big reason I chose this location. That said, it’s still one of the cleanest and best-maintained In-Shape gyms I’ve ever been to.

Too expensive for a gym that closes whenever it feels like it.

Why are you closed on holidays? Valley Fitness stays open on most holidays and charges significantly less.

Also, why the random closures on Saturdays and Sundays? At the very least, update your hours on Google. It’s basic professionalism.

Equipment wise, the setup is underwhelming: only about three squat racks inside, two outside, and a similar situation with bench presses. For the amount members pay, you’d expect better scheduling, communication, and more equipment. Also the outdoor equipment needs to be cleaned more often.

I LOVE this gym. Just started earlier this month but so far my favorite thing about Inshape Manteca East is the classes. I have done 2 different classes and the instructors are beyond amazing! They are encouraging, fun, and challenge you for sure! Not to mention the people that come to this gym are friendly and thoughtful. I had previously left a bad review of this place due to reasons that have been addressed already by this club in a timely manner. I promised I would update my review once those issues were fixed, and the staff and manager Sean did an amazing job at addressing those issues. Facilities and schedule was perfect but service i didn't happy they did messed up my old members and my new enrollment program after I got new membership account i can't used apps in shape always popped out errors plus I did noticed ahead 30 days before I canceled my old membership to joining program under Medicare Insurance but they charged me and Medicare Insurance for March 2025.that mean on March they did charged both sides.

I saw at California fitness they got sides right at indoor Zacuzi that why over there always looking really clean and fresh. The Zumba Saturday’s @9:30 am 💃 and Zumba Sunday’s @9:00 am 💃 with Lilian are Awesome! You break a sweat dancing so much you forget you’re actually working out! But, the main manager at this location didn’t consider our Petitions to allow our previous Zumba class back during the week with LiLian. It’s terrible here, as a member our voices are not being heard, and it feels like our opinions do not matter, even though we are the ones paying a monthly membership! By the way the rest of the staff is great, they are very kind and considerate with everyone. My 5 stars are for Lilian’s Zumba classes💃 I have professionally reached out to Sarah and she in return forwarded my email to; Sean local manager whom doesn’t foresee reinstating the night Zumba class with Lilian. It’s disappointing to follow through in a professional manner, and receiving a brush off, I expected your top management to at least acknowledge my email and respond correctly as a professional, instead of handing the ball over to the next person.

This is a good gym. Yes it is. So why the one star? Because EVERY Saturday morning there is this guy that yells obnoxiously. Almost like his dying. Or getting stabbed or just saw his mother raise from the grave.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind grunts and groans for lifting hard, but this is so disturbing that my earphones can't drown it out. And Saturday is leg day to make it worse.

Maybe this guy is mentally ill, who knows. All I know is I'm. moving gyms because of that one guy. And what's worse is I don't even know who it is.

I'm rating In-Shape Manteca 5-stars after working out here for about a month and having been an adult student for the swim classes.

The gym is kept tidy throughout the day by staff, and the gym etiquette is pleasant. There are plenty of towels to wipe down benches and there is an outdoor workout space to avoid crowds. Shoutout to Kristi at the front desk. She helped me with membership information, was delightful to talk to, and encouraged guests arriving at the gym. Also, shoutout to Ray (not sure of exact spelling) who was my swim instructor. She is very personable, provides deliberate feedback on improving my freestyle, backstroke, and side-breathing and works hard to ensure adult students get value from the swim lessons. Overall, I've enjoyed the In-Shape team at Manteca!

i have posted reviews about the actual gym on hammer lane. Still does not have a jacuzzi that works. (At least not the last time I was there ) Well, it limps along on about 3 , sometimes 4 jets out of 10 i believe. But that does not mean all of them actually put out a stream of water any stronger than a hose with a kink in it. but right now I am incredibly frustrated by their web site. An absolute disaster. I wanted to see about paying more so I could go to Manteca because it looks like they have both indoor and outdoor pools. But every time I try to find out about a senior membership, it forces me to try to change locations from hammer lane so I pick Manteca. Then it only lists the 3 usual memberships, none of which I can afford. Click on types of memberships, choose senior, goes to same place telling me how great they are..Join now takes me to guess were? Hammer Lane. Guess they really do not want me to change. And yes, I tried changing the location a bunch of times and each time it was the same thing. It will not specify the exact amount, only that it is 20% less. Less than what? The premium package that requires a small fortune to afford? Then try to find out specifics about if there is in fact an indoor pool. The types of memberships listed again are generic. I did find one reference that seems to indicate two pools. There is also a reference to the heated pool. Is that the unknown indoor pool? Outdoor pool? This is why i can not switch to west lane because there is only one pool which is outdoors but unheated rendering it unusable for lap swimming in the winter. Plus, they delegate the best hours which pretty much equals all day, every day to family swim time only. Lap swim is very early in the morning or late in the evening.
Why can't your web site clearly list all amenities for each club? Why can't your web site actually show the cost of a senior membership under the different categories.? Why do families only rate using the pool during the best summer hours 7 days a week?
It is too bad there are no other gyms near Stockton except one in Lodi with pools. The one in Lodi actually makes In Shape seem like a bargain as they charge extra above the different membership costs to use the pool.
There should be official club photos for the actual club when you select one from the location. There should be a clean, easy to read list of what each club offers. For a decent web master this is not rocket science. But I guess since In Shape is owned by one of those investment businesses which always put their profits as the 1st priority it does not come as a big surprise they do not actually provide accurate information. I do not think a picture of the jacuzzi at the Hammer Lane location showing not one single bubble coming from those lonely little jets would be a big selling point. But I will say this club (Hammer Lane)is always clean and the pool is usually not real crowded. It would be better if they actually made it clear people are supposed to reserve a lane though. but I know I have unrealistic expectations for my meager membership payment. And I wish someone there would be willing to show an old woman how to safely and correctly use some of the equipment. I am not the bravest person and I have no desire to fall off something or under something in front of a lot of very fit people. Maybe a room in the back for people like me. smiley face wink wink.
I just really miss swimming in an outdoor pool in this summer weather. I know I could call but the whole point of searching the web site is because I do not WANT to talk to anyone. Especially for In Shape as I have found the people who answer the phone are not always reliable for the information they provide. For an investment money making corporation that owns in shape you could afford to put a little more of those earnings into a web site that actually is helpful. Please.

I have never been one to join a gym, I normally choose to workout in the privacy of my home, however I decided this year to give it a try! In-Shape Manteca did not disappoint, from the beginning the staff and management have made this decision so easy! My reason for joining was to check out the classes! My workouts at home were always video based- Billy Blanks Tae-Bo or Fit-on App, I am super thankful that In-Shape Manteca has the classes that give me a sense of being at home but now I’m not alone the teachers and the women in these classes are all awesome! This is the best gym in Manteca. It
Has everything I need and more to get a great workout. I love having a sauna, steam room and heated indoor and outdoor pools. We also have 2 style punching bags - an aqua tear drop bag and a traditional 5 ft heavy bag which I enjoy. Gym is clean and well maintained. I bring my 2 youngest with me and they play in the kidzone while I workout and they love going. Staff is friendly and professional.

This would be 5 stars except for one big thing. They need more weightlifting equipment and less cardio equipment. Most of the cardio equipment goes unused while it's all but impossible to find a bench. There are 2 barbell benches and multiple adjustable dumbbell benches that are always in use. Should add an additional incline bench and another barbell flat bench. Also the smith machine is constantly in use. However, other than that I really like this gym. If you're good at switching up your workout the lack of available stations isn't as big of a deal, but I still find myself waiting for at least 5 minutes for a piece of equipment at least 2-3 times every workout. Also people do not have ANY gym etiquette here. They'll walk up and grab weights off the station you're on without asking, they don't clean up after themselves. The dumbbells are strewn about the entire building and get left where they were used. Weights don't get stripped off of stations and people will just walk off. I think there needs to be signs like at their other locations, to clean off the weights and not to camp on equipment.

I love this gym. I belong to all the In-Shape facilities and live in Stockton, but I love coming to Manteca. Originally I came for the outdoor pool and swim aerobics alone. But as I've been coming, I've discovered the wonderful instructors and I've added several indoor classes. The manager Sean is friendly and helpful to everyone and inspires the staff to be really inviting. They always say hi. Many people are regulars here and I feel like it's a family of sorts.

As a 60-plus year old, I have to say that I'm stunned to realize that I'm in about the best shape I've ever been in. Which is hard to believe, but this year I've completed several hikes in the Sierras at high altitude over 13 miles and I would never have been able to do if it weren't for the motivating instruction I've received and the strength I've built with their help. I never thought I'd enjoy going to the gym like I am now. A great experience.

I am a senior which often time forgets her phone. The staff says no problem I'll check you in with a smile. The club has made several upgrade which I appreciate. The atmosphere at In-Shape is like a family. I don't mind coming here to work out because the instructors motivate and understand everybody is not at the same level. The manager Sean does an outstanding job as well as all the friendly staff.

Poor customer service, smell so bad inside specially when you enter this gym.
The restroom 🚻 have no maintenance and supply. I quit to come this location. The manager is also execrable /rude. I hate this attitude of people. LOVE❤️ is all we need in this WORLD 🌎

I participate in the water aerobic classes. All the instructors are knowledgeable and fun. Sean, the manager is helpful and encouraging, taking the time to motivate our family. He is exceptional with our 32 year old son who has special needs.

NEGATIVE REVIEW for this gym. I have had fraud from the Manteca location and have attempted MULTIPLE TIMES to get a hold of corporate to help stop the fraud from happening and have never received any kind of response. when I finally received an email from the general manager, he completely ignored my concerns and thought a credit of $18 would cover the $75 they FRAUDULENTLY charged my account after I had already paid my monthly dues for the month. I immediately cancelled my membership. THIS GYM IS THE WORST! THE GENERAL MANAGER SEAN, IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM! DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS GYM AT ANY LOCATION!

Unfortunately, there's a member there that likes to yell when they're working out, usually in the am. It makes people feel uncomfortable, especially women. Ive met multiple people who avoid this gym because of this one member. Unfortunately, I can't change my morning routine to avoid this person so I no longer go. Bad for business.

I like having the pool and using the sauna and steam room. I like that this location has a punching bag since I train in muay thai and there's is a kids area.

I have a 1 year old who’s been going to kids zone since 6 months and a daughter who is 6 years old. The staff is AMAZING with them and at times do interactive activities with them! It means a lot to me that my kids feel safe and played with while I’m working out! I also trust the staff to contact me when a situation arises so I can come fix it and then get right back to my workout! Highly recommend this gym for the amazing amenities as well but for parents, the kids zone is worth it!

Its my favorite clean time i love the water excersize and i need the steam rm most of all it helps alot with joint and muscle pains but tracy in my town is always out of order thats a bummer so i drive all the way to manteca where all the amenities work ..tracy needs to get it together so dirty i feel sick after being there.
