This club is great. The desk staff are very friendly and helpful. There is something for everyone here no matter your age or fitness level. The club is laid out nicely so whatever you are focusing on you can find it. The vibe is very positive and the members are all focused on their workouts. The only area I think you could improve in is there is never enough cleaning supplies. We all are pretty good about wiping down the machines, however it's hard to find a spray bottle(or one that isn't empty), towels etc. The paper towel dispensers are often empty. But overall job well done!

It was my first check in and I was lucky enough to meet the manager! He gave me some really great insight on where to start and answers all my questions. He even offered to go over nutrition with me at some point and that is exactly what I needed thank you so much. I recently traveled to Modesto for work, and visited this gym to possibly sign up, not only was I not greeted or offered service but the so called general manager sat in his office avoiding eye contact the whole time, wouldn’t recommend, poor customer service to say the least.

Very rude customer service and I felt that someone is racist in this in shape because I was practicing and punching, then one of the employees came on me and said not punching while there is someone around you but I know when there is someone around me I never ever punch or kicking very hard, so what’s the boxing bag for? And it’s a club to practice and it’s not the place to come and do nothing. Even some old ladies who are swimming in the pool they are against kids who are swimming and my kids feeling like they’re facing racism while swimming in the pool. Even in this in shape most employees including the manager are racist unfortunately except some of the employees who really nice. One day one of the employees behaved my son very badly and even he treated disrespectfully with me while I am paying money but unfortunately over here they don’t have respect for us. Today finally I got offended by the rude manager and decided to cancel my membership and he made me to cancel due to his racism behavior towards my son, he always watch my son and never watch other kids despite there was another 5 or 6 old kid swimming in the pool without parents but he always ignores other people, I really got offended today by his bad attitude towards us, very rude and disrespectful behavior by him

I absolutely love this club. Very spacious. Great equipment. The group fitness instructors and members are fantastic. Super nice people here. Mark (front desk) and Alyssa (team lead) are great very helpful with everything. Craig the general manager is nice beyond words. Very knowledgeable with the supplements sold in the club. Been to probably all of the Inshapes from Merced to Tracy. Prescott Inshape in Modesto is all around solid, in my opinion. I’m not even going to describe why in my opinion it’s one of the best Inshapes. Selfishly, I don’t want anymore people going there ahah. Just know I’m the guy Hercules looked up to. My word is law.

This location is alright if I'm in a pinch if I don't feel like going down to McHenry or Floyd, however for some reason I can't find 2.5lb plates anywhere which makes it pretty much impossible to progressively overload my 5x5 compound lifts, I usually have to take some weight off and do more reps which is fine if you're focused on hypertrophy, but since I train for specifically for strength I can't use this place as my primary go to. it's usually always packed as well.

Please fix the women’s showers. Two of the stalls have been out of order for over 2 months. So half of the showers don’t work. That means people are waiting in line to use a shower. Unacceptable when I’m paying $65 a month plus a $65 annual fee.

I love this gym But i really wish it was 24/7 it is usally really packed even if the line is low it’s still packed. having night time would bring less people around and late night sessions. Most of the time i spend outside sitting outside the gym waiting for people to leave even if the bar says low it’s not accurate and there’s still a packed gym. PLEASE BRING 24/7 HOUR GYM-BACK

I swim in their 61 foot pool. Very nice for laps. Friendly people. What's disconcerting is both men & women enter the sauna & steam room with street clothes and shoes. They don't dress out in gym clothes. Plus they take water into the steam room & pour it on the electric heater to create more steam. Water & electricity doesn't mix.

I attend here regularly. Best in shape in Modesto hands down. As a maintenance tech.1 thing that I see that can improve. Is setting PMs on machinery. The pulley machines do need to be lubricated weekly and or every other week with A Simple wd-40 spray. with its constant use every day all day. There are a couple machines that are not as smooth as others. Also dumbbell’s do need to be tightened as a pm monthly and or check for loose bolts weekly. Mostly every-time I use them bolts are not tightened.not all of them but there are a few. I finger tighten them and it’s fine but god forbid someone uses them and doesnt recognized it can be a big injury. Not sure if these are PMs(preventative maintenance)that are already set. If they are it’s not getting done properly. My reason for leaving 4 stars instead of 5

Good gym with most things you'd need in a typical gym. The staff are friendly and the place is pretty clean, especially considering this place is super busy. I don't think that I've found a time to go in where it's not extremely busy. Since I've been going there, they've done a lot of renovations and maintenance to keep everything nice.

My only complaint is that a lot of the barbells feel dirty and I wish there were more deadlift platforms.

A very great atmosphere, as soon as I walk through those doors there's the sense of motivation. The other members are all very energetic and are committed to working hard. Only issue is the separate "weight room" off to the left corner tends to have a bad odor, same goes for the sauna. What I would recommend for the sauna is every few hours have a staff member give a 10-15 minute break period where the door stays open to ventilate some of the bad odors out, as for the "weight room" some lysol or hanging air fresheners around wouldn't be a bad idea. I completely understand that this is a gym and gyms will have sweaty people and others that don't have much consideration for personal hygiene, but anything to help alleviate the smell would be greatly appreciated. I tend to come in every weekday around 6 and leave at about 9. It could be that it smells fine in the morning and by the time I'm there there's nothing that can be done. I would also like to add that I've visited the In-Shape on Mitchell Rd. in Ceres and not once did I come across these bad smells. I posted this comment about 2 years ago and never got a reply. I'm thinking about making the switch to that In-Shape instead...

It's a great place to get a workout as the choices for equipment to use are quite extensive.
It's a clean facility.
The staff is personable and friendly.
The only real problem is the large crowds during peak hours.

Great gym. The staff are friendly and always smiling. It’s clean and great size. Has good equipment. When things break it’s fixed very fast. Downfall is that it gets very busy. If you plan a workout routine good luck completing it. If you go after 2pm-11pm best of luck to you. During the week is to busy and not worth it. I now see to many people sitting on the phone far to long and not doing thing. It is more of a social club then a gym now. When you ask if they’re almost done politely they say yes but come back about ten minutes and still they’re sitting on the phone. I sure wish they were 24 hours again. Maybe the members that use to come late night early mornings can once again do that. I myself always use to go late night early morning. Now I have to go during the times open and not worth my money anymore. I will return to this gym once it becomes 24 again. If that happens. Fit republic. Planet fitness and a few other gyms are now open 24/7 when will In-Shape do that?

I just signed back on with my wife after 2yrs of not going due to finances... I genuinely love the gym my only issue I have about inshape is that it's not 24hrs anymore because of covid it messed everything up and unfortunately now it seems like it's hard to go workout without it being packed with people makes it hard to get your workouts in at least in my experience since covid and ik and understand that nothing is ever perfect but it would be helpeful and greatly appreciated if they went back to 24hrs again! Workers are great and attentive ,beginning with saying morning or good afternoon at the entrance. Plenty of machines available when I go at a good time. When they break down we let them know and they get it fixed fairly promptly. I appreciate that we receive a message when the Spa, showers, sauna etc.. are out of service and another message when they are ready. Friendly atmosphere and good to make friends. No matter what shape, age or condition you are at everyone respects each other and minds their own business. Even though my towel was taken when I was in the Spa. I am glad that I at least had the small towel and barely was able to dry myself. I never would have thought that they would take it off the hook but at least they did not take my cane and keys. That's what I get for relaxing in the spa and closing my eyes. I did not make a big deal because it's not and everyday problem. First thing that they have taken from me since i have been at the gym. I did tell them upfront when leaving and they asked if i wanted to let the manager know. Told yes just so he knows what is going on. Did not discourage me from continue going and be worried all the time.

The gym itself is a great gym. But since Covid they’re not 24 hours anymore. The gym get so busy that you cannot find any equipment to use. There are way too many people. And there are way too many people just sitting in equipment not working out. They are on the phone or talking with friends. The Sauna is the same. I will cancel my membership in the morning. Why pay when I can’t even workout. When you tell managers nothing happens. If the gym was 24 hours the ones who use to go late night early Mornings would have a better workout.

Place is usually clean and that includes their sauna. Not that much wait for machines, no crazy gym rat packs posing between reps. No frills gym and they have a whole wall of TVs for cardio. A lot people from different ages seem to attend the classes here and thankfully are more in the evenings. I prefer to use the aerobics room for circuit type of moves. I like this chain more than LA Fitness and 24 hours, since they're not even 24hrs anyways lol but it's the crowd in this gym that makes in-shape an easy choice.

The facility offers everything needs to be fit and stay fit. I was visiting from Maryland and the Rate for 24 hour intervals was reasonable, but you had to always reenter your information at the end of each 24. hour interval. It would be nice if visitors were able to continue intervals with the card and information previously entered, with a simpler method.

Should not deal with special children. They will tell you that there is “something wrong with them” because of a reaction they caused to the special child. maybe they just have inadequate workers there but personally as a manager I’d be embarrassed to have an establishment where my workers can’t work with special needs children and or react childishly towards parents. Overall Unprofessional. Especially the management here 😂
