I love how supportive and motivating the environment is — especially my trainer, James Reese, who pushes me in the best way. The variety of machines and equipment keeps my workouts fun and never boring. The gym is clean, welcoming, and just feels like a place where I can actually show up, focus, and grow.

The Orangevale location is easily the best one I’ve visited, and I’ve been to several across Sacramento. The staff is consistently friendly, the members are respectful, and the whole place just has a better vibe. I drive from Carmichael to Orangevale every day because it’s genuinely worth it.

Update:
I wound up having to relocate, but instead of them just transfering my membership, they wanted me to pay $30 more (first they told me it was $20 more because I'd only had the membership for 2 months, but when I got there, they raised the price to $30 more) a month to upgrade my membership. Since I didn't want to pay that much per month, I decided to cancel my membership (at the location closest to me). The early termination fee (because I had a 1 year contract) is $250, PLUS you have to pay for another month a couple of weeks later, which is absolutely ridiculous. They didn't care that they lost a member and didn't honor the price that I was originally given. I definitely will not be returning to In-Shape in the future.

It's a two-story gym that has all the amenities I'm looking for. There are group classes (in the studio and at the pool), hydro massages, a rock wall, a pool, a sauna, and an area for kids. The group classes are at favorable times. The studio is actually big enough to have lots of members attend the classes. There's plenty of free weights, machines, and cardio machines available.
The cardio equipment is located upstairs and it's not blocking other machines in the weight training area. The studio and turf are located upstairs. There's an area to stretch and use matts on both floors. The free weights and machines are located on both floors. Bathrooms are located on the bottom floor towards the back. The spa and pool are also in the back.
The gym is spacious and clean. Members actually re-rack their weights. The staff are super friendly and helpful. They have personal trainers and a chiropractor on staff. There's plenty of parking.
The only "negatives" are that people love to talk in the weight room, and personal training is always happening, so finding a quiet place when you don't have noise canceling headphones is darn near impossible.

I subscribed to go to this gym for my baby. Before starting my subscription asked all the questions and if it’s ok to use the pool for my baby. They said yes. Finally, it turned out the kids pool isn’t heated during the winter and my baby can’t stay in a hot pool. So I wanted to cancel the subscription because for me it’s no sense anymore. They said I either have to pay all the cancellation fees which is around $350, or I have to put on hold until May which is $5 monthly and an annual fee $100 (around $130 if they won’t add any other fees).
Quite disappointed that I have to pay for not going there

Overall good gym with a great variety of equipment and friendly staff. The rock climbing wall, pool, hot tub and sauna are also great additions. I do however have some concerns... The staff does a great job of presenting a friendly face and keeping the equipment clean and relatively organized. However, the overall facilities maintenance is lacking. Another commenter mentioned the musty mold smell from the men’s locker room. It seems like it’s either an issue with the showers or maybe because the sauna is on the other side of the wall but it’s so bad, I don’t go into the locker rooms at all. The lockers themselves can use an upgrade to pin pad locks once the mold issue is sorted. Also, there is a mirror next to the squat rack that has been broken for awhile that could use some attention.
Lastly, the WiFi is completely unusable. I originally thought the WiFi was experiencing temporary problems but it’s been going on for months. Sub 1 Mbps down and up on a good day is practically unusable. I’m not sure if the public WiFi is shared with your corporate internet and just being capped at low speeds but it’s really bad. I would suggest either upping the speed of that SSID or allocating a dedicated circuit to public WiFi. Internet is relatively cheap these days and people with AT&T cell service are left with practically no connectivity between WiFi and AT&T’s service in the area.

This gym suffers from two main problems: outdated equipment and unreliable opening hours.
While there is plenty of equipment, much of it is old, and I've encountered broken machines several times in the six months I've been a member. It genuinely feels like In Shape acquired an older gym and hasn't made necessary equipment updates.
The most frustrating issue, however, is the unreliable 4:30 AM opening. This has happened three times in the last six months—I've shown up only to find no staff present to open the gym at the posted time. While 4:30 AM is early, if they cannot consistently staff the gym for their promised hours, they need to adjust the opening time. This lack of reliability is a major factor making me consider canceling my membership.

A Five-Star Gym with an Incredible Staff
I wish I could single out one person as the most outstanding, but the entire evening staff is just incredible. From the moment you walk in, they greet you with a friendly smile that sets the tone for your whole workout.
I recently went with my 72-year-old father who was registering for the first time. The young woman at the desk was so helpful and made the entire process simple and amazing. She was patient and kind, ensuring everything went smoothly.
I genuinely look forward to working out here because of the positive and friendly atmosphere. The gym itself is always sparkling clean, and all the weights are perfectly organized.
I'm truly grateful to the management team for hiring such an amazing staff. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a top-notch experience.

Really wanted to like this gym but it's really hot and humid consistently, even on cooler days. Good range of equipment, but as someone with a disability, the temperature of this gym is a huge drawback. Pretty disappointing saving a couple bucks is a higher priority than customer comfort.

I go mainly for the pool--I enjoy doing laps several times a week and I love the water aerobics classes on Tues and Thursday. Angela is a great instructor! I only wish there were more than just 2 classes during the week!!! Everyone I talk to during the class feels the same way--WE WANT MORE WATER AEROBICS CLASSES !! The staff there are always pleasant and I notice they make of point of actually looking at me and greeting me as I come in the door and when I leave--I really appreciate that attention. There's so many stores/businesses now where the employees don't even bother to look up when you walk in. Love my time there!

I really love InShape gyms and often visit different locations around Sacramento – this is one of the best! The staff is friendly, the equipment is great, and the overall atmosphere is very motivating.
However, I noticed that in the men’s shower area there is sometimes a strong musty smell, which is quite unpleasant. I hope this can be addressed soon, because everything else about this gym is excellent.
Thank you for keeping such a great fitness environment!

I joined California Family Fitness in April of 2018. My right shoulder was injured and movement was extremely limited. Janiece, my personal trainer showed me the best ways to get pain free movement! Working out several days a week over the past year, my shoulder is moving freely! I can lift my arms above my head and do complete rotations! I have also lost 15 pounds and 5 inches off my waist! Getting healthy and back in shape is not easy, but with Cal Fit it is possible!! Join Cal Fit today!

Health clubs come and go, yet my whole family's been a member since the early 2000 when the Orangevale club just opened. That say's something about this health club. There's always going to be an issue at any fitness club. This fitness club is attentive when there's an issue. That's important to me. But what sets this 1 particular fitness club apart from any other is the a feeling of small town friendliness. And I have conversations with many people who have mentioned that. Some laugh and nickname it "Cheers" from the family sitcom.

while offering a decent workout environment, falls short in several key areas. The pricing is noticeably high compared to the value provided. The accompanying app, essential for facility access and guest check-ins, is consistently problematic. Its frequent logouts, annoying interface, and the difficulty in managing guest passes significantly detract from the user experience. Furthermore, the policy regarding membership cancellation is concerning, as members are charged an additional month despite proper cancellation procedures. Just to sqeeze one last charge from you definitely look somewhere else if you're looking for a good gym.

Staff is always friendly, professional and courteous. The gym itself has plenty of different types of services on two separate floors. They have a ton of cardio machines, rowing machines, stair steppers, machines for weight lifting, free weights, CrossFit training, sauna, steam room, outdoor swimming pool with multiple lanes and a kid pool 3'. There's a massive aerobics room with so much equipment available. Everyone is very friendly and the gym is very clean. Someone if not multiple people are constantly cleaning. It's not usually too busy either! Locker rooms with lockers, showers and stalls/urinals. Plenty of classes for all activity types and a good variety of types of workouts, dance, at all times throughout the week. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this gym experience.

Very nice and clean. They are rebuilding pools currently caged up. No locker combination, must bring a lock, which I was not aware! Had to bring my bag when working out. Now I know to bring a lock to this gym. Sauna room slightly too small for both men & women; no women Sauna available but was looking for it! Upstairs has all the cardio machines alike, treadmills, etc. I really enjoyed my visit and will come back when the pools are finished. Thanks In-Shape!

Men’s restroom appears to be black colored mold growing all over the ceiling. You can see it but most notably smell it.
This is NOT an employee issue for lack of cleaning, this is a greedy owner / design issue. No wonder Cal Fit sold to inshape, they knew these problems would be a matter of time. Unfortunately this is a customer issue too, due to the pool and unclean people they get water everywhere so it never dries. The location on Madison without a pool doesn’t have any mold issues in the bathroom.
Mold should not grow on a ceiling. Lack of airflow and high humidity. Install a dehumidifier, add fans, improve air conditioning. Three suggestions, you’re welcome.
Added a picture but it’s a lot worse I just don’t want to be taking a lot of pictures in the bathroom.

Pros:
-the staff are friendly and nice
-enough equipment to get a good workout in for each group
-warm up and stretching area
Cons:
-bathroom is extremely dirty. Im pretty sure I've seen the same trash and dirt in the stalls for the last week or so
-gym equipment is old
-some equipment are extremely dirty. 2 of the ropes for the cables felt so dirty you can feel the residue on your hands. I almost skipped the workouts for it
Personal notes:
-a majority of the people do not clean after themselves by cleaning their equipment they sweated on
-dumbells do not exceed 100lbs
-some dudes come into/leave the gym shirtless
-i do not think the staff clean the equipment daily.
Update 6/14/23:
Staff contacted my phone 2 days after this review. The staff member was nice and considerate about the post. She said that there will be a new policy/process for this facility because of the review I posted.
I will re-edit if needed
Update 6/14/24:
After the in-shape fitness change the place is being cleaned more constantly. The equipment does feels more maintained. The staff seems to be friendlier and active to care about people's workout journey. Still a solid place to workout at

The Suisun City, CA club does not enforce basic gym rules or gym etiquette. They allow members to use weight benches and nautilus equipment to simply sit for 10-15 minutes and scroll on their phones, refusing to get up to allow other members to ACTUALLY work out. I encountered this exact scenario. I brought an incident such as this to the management’s attention and received a very rehearsed statement/response basically telling me “too bad, because we’re not allowed to enforce our gym rules.” I can see now why so many people are willing to pay a lot more to join other gyms, like, CrossFit or privately owned gyms, because this type of behavior would not be allowed. I will never recommend In-Shape to anyone. I don’t really have much more to add after seeing how In-Shape as a whole only has a 1.6 star rating. Pathetic.

I was late paying last months balance by just a day, they made my account inactive after this months bill was added to the balance due on the 1st. I paid the past due amount from the previous month, my account was still inactive even tho the remaining balance was the new months bill added just a day prior so not even a day late. I sent in a message asking for my account to be brought back to active status as the past due was paid and the new bill had just been added on and you have a month to pay it. The woman who called me back told me she could not make my account active until the remaining balance was due, after telling her that makes 0 sense and her basically ignoring everything I said and just talking to herself she finally made my account active again and said I needed to pay by friday. Well as per the automated voice message when I call In Shapes number it says to speak with the front desk person at my gym or fill out a ticket like I had online. The filling out the ticket did not go well so I spoke to the front desk people and asked them about my bill that was just added on and if my account was going to be made inactive again if I didnt pay it within a week after it was added to my account. The front desk people reassured me that In Shapes policy is that members have until the following 1st to make a payment. So if a bill was added on Aug 1st ( like my situation) i had until Sept 1 to pay the bill.
Well this morning the same customer service woman calls me at 8 o clock this morning while I am getting ready for my job to tell me I need to pay. I tell her i spoke with the front desk and they informed me I had until the 1st of Sept. She proceeds to call me and the staff liars and that I need to pay right now over the phone. It again starts to feel like she is purposefully not listening or comprehending what i am saying. So i tell her exactly that, she is purposefully choosing to be not listen to what I am saying. She then hung up on me.
Absolutely unprofessional on ever level. If this were my business I would fire that csr employee before I get a lawsuit for harassment.

I am so sad that I had such a bad experience just coming in to get my pass to see if this is the gym I wanted to attend as I just moved back home to my hometown unfortunately I was handled in such a distasteful manner and even laughed at in my face by two workers I’ve decided to just go ahead and not even use the pass or continue with a yearly membership it saddens me that the gym is a place for people, and the employees who are there to greet us or help us be paying members aren’t even professional or have business front desk etiquette

The last 4 out of 5 times I have been to the gym here on McHenry they have been out of towels. Either work out towels, shower towels or now even wiping down the equipment towels!!! I came in yesterday (Monday) at 3pm and you were out of towels, I walked to the mens locker room and gee you know why you dont have towels???? The damn basket was overflowing !!! Throw in a load of towels!!! Why do you continue to charge me a full monthly membership when you don't provide the items that by contract you are supposed to?!?!! Enough is enough, fulfill your end of the contract!!! I dont want to hear that they are being stolen or the washing machine is broken. I am a member at the Folsom location ( off and on since 2005) but I am looking into other gyms at this time, I think they probably all are about the same when it comes to handling problems. I have dealt with " local gym managers" and district managers within the "INSHAPE Organization" and all I get is lip service. The district managers says he will make things right and if I could just give him some time he will be sure to get things taken care of, then the local manager says "that is not going to happen" and I should just accept it. I have turned in the same documentation 6 different times, it appears they just deep six them rather than address the issue. I was told by the local manager to NEVER think that the company will honor what an employees promises. The club itself is fine, great people for the most part but I do not recommend you paying a large amount of money up front for personal training as they will not hold the trainers accountable for showing up on time or at all. I have been dealing with this for 4 months and I cannot even get a response to emails. It is a real shame that they have such little integrity.

Don’t go to this gym franchise. Management and upper management don’t care about the members. The classes and instructors are great. But the gym is run poorly. Bathrooms always broken, popular machines broken for weeks. No ac in the two classrooms making classes unbearable hot and unpleasant. If you address your concerns they are ignored by management and corporate. I’m still waiting on a call from the manager back in March and April on incidents that happened in kid zone. I was told for three weeks OSHA I think is the managers name that I’d get a call..nope never. If they don’t care to call you when your child is hurt a handful of times. Do you think they really care about you as a member? Now people have been complaining about the ac and instead of fixing the ac or putting fans in the classrooms, they cancelled all the classes. That’s what you get for complaining it’s too hot. They don’t fix the problem, they ignore you for weeks then cancel all the classes. Beware. They pretend to be nice but then if you speak up for a valid reason like my kid got hurt with marks on him or it’s 80 something degrees with 29 people in a small cycle room with no air or fans. They ignore you. Yet still take your monthly dues.

Overall this gym is ok, but I prefer the Citrus Heights location. The lockers here at Orangevale are slightly smaller. There are plenty of machines, but there are fewer shower and bathroom stalls. There are 3 pools, but one is a kiddie pool only 2 ft deep, and they seem to have removed most of the fun sprinkler equipment. Why? There is a hydro-massage bed, but the one at Citrus Heights is in a more private room, rather than being out in the open.
There is plenty of free parking and even some shade. I like the air conditioned lobby here. Very nice if you're waiting to meet someone. I like the later hours here too.

UPDATE: They have since changed this location hours back to the earlier time. This is great! The sauna is hot every day when I get there. Whoo-hoo! They did clean the locker room walls and ceilings, which really needed to be done. It was gross. They also repainted the locker rooms ugly wall color (to the same awful color, who picked that... not a complaint but a comment) Overall things have slowly improved. Thank you!
I would give it 4 stars but I am still bitter about how this was handled. Terrible practices. Low communication, taking things away while raising prices, you could not speak to any management, plus they did not return calls. Cooporate would not answer and did not have a direct line. The only response I got from the email they referred members to was a generic reply saying they would be in touch.
When they did change hours back, there was a manager working behind the counter. He knew who I was due to these reviews. He had a big smile and was friendly but seemed to want a pat on the back. I do thank you all for taking a look at the issues I and many members had. Thank you, real improvement! I still have an issue with how it was handled and the rude, non-existent communication and some new business practices. It left a bitter taste.
-------
ORIGINAL:
I don't know what to say anymore. I want to be completely positive but can't. Staff that work behind the counter are nice and helpful.
The new hours are a real problem, and how they communicated them were non-existent. I drive 30 minutes to get here. When I get here on most days the sauna is cold and I am unable to use it. This has only become an issue since the new year. With the old hours I was able to come 10 minutes after opening. Now I am pressured. I pay, I expect everything to be up and working when I arrive and it is not on most days. 5 out of 7 days. My workout time has nearly been cut in half and I will be paying more. Going elsewhere is an issue.
Also, when cleaning the womans locker room, look up.
I am not happy at all.

I am beyond frustrated trying to set up my corporate account at In-Shape. I feel like In-Shape really doesn't want corporate members. They make you jump through hoops. My wife was a benefited member through the same corporation and she was constantly hassled to pay for membership when it was supposed to be free. Then, they canceled her and I just found out that it should never have been canceled. The only reason I'm trying to set up membership is for her and the kids. I really don't plan on using this membership. I am at my wits end trying to set up this account. The link to the portal I was provided only gives me the option to pay a monthly fee. I am so frustrated and not impressed with the level of customer service. I have been going back and forth with someone via email for the past 2 weeks. Responses to emails typically take a couple days.

I’ve been going to this gym for a while now and I absolutely love it! The facilities are always spotless, especially the bathrooms, which are a big plus for me. The staff here is super friendly and welcoming, making every visit a pleasant experience.
What truly sets this gym apart is its vast size and the abundance of equipment available. No matter when I go, it never feels too crowded, which is great for maintaining a routine without any hassle. Another standout feature is the childcare services. The workers keep a consistent schedule Monday through Friday, which has helped my 9-month-old daughter feel secure and comfortable. It’s like her own little “school” where she can interact with other children her age while I get some quality gym time.
A special shoutout to Ms. Deb in the childcare area who really goes the extra mile. She takes excellent care of the babies, ensuring they are not only safe but also happily engaged. Knowing she’s there, I never have to worry about my daughter when I’m working out.
Lastly, Eric, the gym manager, deserves a mention for his exceptional leadership. He’s not only kind but also genuinely attentive to member feedback, readily making adjustments to meet our needs.
Overall, I couldn’t ask for a better gym experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to join a gym that feels like a community.

This Orangeville location has a fabulous assortment of machines you can workout with .From free weights ,hammer strength, cable machines and multiple machines that work primary muscular groups .So no waiting around because someone using a machine.
Great energetic atmosphere from staff; That's welcoming and happy to be there . The entire gym itself appeared cleaned and personally I found every machine was operative and functioning at this Orangeville location.
The suana was clean and conveniently located next to workout area.Stream room was extra big and roomy but unfortunately was not blowing steam as it should .The pool deck was clean and pools/ hotub were fantastic!
My experience was fun and I love everything about Orangeville location. The only complaint I would have to mention is they install more t.v.'s especially upstairs and turn the a/c on because it was hot is hell inside the gym .

California Family Fitness is a family friendly facility that focuses on helping its members reach their fitness goals and maintain healthy lifestyles while having fun! The trainers are top tier. They share their knowledge freely, helping members/clients to understand why they are having them do specific movements. As a member, I feel that they really care for my wellbeing and feel like I have friends helping me reach my goals.

I was a California family fit member for at least seven years. I got into an accident on September 1 of 2023 in which I was given CPR had my long punctured to remove the blood because I was gargling, and then they re-tried CPR I was life flighted to Sutter in Roseville, where I stayed in a coma for nine days, with broken neck, broken back, broken ice socket, broken of my temporal bone, which was shattered. I had a severe traumatic brain injury seven brain bleeds, I shattered my left shoulder blade. I broke my collarbone, my left shoulder and my right arm below the elbow. Needless to say, I was in rough shape. My sister flew in as my person in my will that determined when they pull life-support and called Cal Fit to let them know of my injury in which they told that it would be put on hold. Six months later, I am still recovering, still cannot work, and saw the other day that the new company is been charging me monthly in which I reached out to them and submitted a support ticket with my doctors notes showing some of my injuries, including my flailed chest, which is eight broken ribs and four of them broken in two places where they were floating . They responded to my email a couple days later saying they were processing a request for money due back to me which was not even remotely close what they have been charging me since since my accident but they did approve my cancellation. I am absolutely Mindblown that a company, like this would treat people that are mentally and physically disabled in such manner, I hope that somebody will call me back and put an end to this because this is not right and I cannot imagine how they are treating other people with worse disabilities and taking advantage of their money. I have tried calling the corporate office and which it says go back to your local club, and there is no end insight. If you are part of the corporation, please call me. -Josh Nagelmann

I have been a long time California Family Fitness customer and I have loved them but since the merger with In Shape it has been nothing but a headache. I am disappointed that no matter how many emails I send I can't get them to solve the fact that my points never transferred over. I was very close to 1 month free when my points reset and I never got my points back. They won't even honor 1 month free, which is what I was saving my points for. Wish Cal Fit didn't merge.

Check your billing statements! I’ve had multiple staff members tell me there’s been issues with billing since the CalFit > InShape switch.
I was charged twice for the month of December and no one could tell me why. When I finally got ahold of the manager, Eric, he was less than helpful— telling me he had *no record* of the $104 charge in December. What kind of business has no record of their charges?!
Instead of taking initiative and digging around for answers, as a manager should, he asked me to go out of my way to email him proof of the charge. After doing so, I called back and that’s when he told me that my $104 charge was ‘essentially in limbo.’ It wasn’t in limbo, it had left my account. This was on January 4th and I’m just now getting my money back.
The rest of the staff was fairly helpful, given that they don’t have access to the same information that the manager has. However, I am upset about how I was treated by Eric, who essentially told me he didn’t believe that I was double charged and didn’t care to look into it until I pushed harder.

Eric has the most calm demeanor and is very approachable. He understands how to de escalate a tense situation. He's very welcoming to me redressing my concerns and takes action of those concerns. Without someone like this person in his position of general manager, it's a very positive view to the members and guest that come to this location.
I've been coming here for many years to calfit and now becoming 'In-shape family fitness.' I've seen some great managers and very few untrained or aggressive managers. Eric, I can tell will be a great asset to 'In Shape family fitness' and will make some big decisions here for the team.
I hope this is the legacy of what 'In-shape family fitness' will be about...

If I could give less than one star I would. Be very sure to steer clear of this company. There's a reason their rate specials are so fabulous. The trainers I've dealt with leave a ton to be desired and the childcare facility is no longer available at our local gym. (We did the all access pass so that we could move without worry ) what a waste.

Total fraud. Tried to cancel in August but they keep charging me monthly and don’t respond to customer support tickets, can’t talk to customer support, NO explanation! Pasting my latest email:
I’d like to point out a few things first. Alisha, (manager) you said my “hold” was submitted on the 1st, but as you can see below, the confirmation email regarding my hold was sent on August 31st (look at date/time of confirmation email.) This hold was only submitted because the cancellation wouldn’t go through on the app. Below is also the screenshot from the website giving instructions on how to cancel. This same option was there last week of August but nothing would happen when I tried to click cancel on the app. I did NOT remove the hold either. Someone on the corporate side removed it so they could charge me the membership fee as well. According to these instructions I don’t even need to submit proof of moving. The receptionist, your website, and app all said and showed that I could cancel before the month started on the app and online. I contacted corporate at that time saying that I was trying to cancel online but nothing was happening. No one EVER responded.
You’ve charged me for September, October, and a hold fee when you didn’t “hold” anything. I’ve never gotten ANY responses after so many emails, and also sending my flight info. If you needed more proof that I moved you should’ve responded saying so. I should NOT have had to call Alisha 4 times and use valuable time just to hear my proof of moving wasn’t sufficient enough. Even though I don’t even need to show that I moved, this is also a weekly invoice for the temporary place I’m staying at.
I’m a special needs music teacher at various Santa Clara County Schools. I lived up the road from this lodge in the Santa Cruz Mountains of Los Gatos. After the storms my place was ruined by leaks, leaving indoor mold and mushrooms. Believe it or not, a few days after I left, my 16yr old dog (soulmate) suddenly died while I was away at work. You can see posts of that on my Instagram, which you’ll find from the comments on your most recent post that I made. I decided to stay with my mom in Clayton. Guess how I decided to try and decompress and heal from losing my dreamhome, my dog, and from working with severely medically fragile children daily? Yes! I decided to get a gym membership!
Anyway, I really wish those of you at this corporate office could just be human and see that I did everything I was directed, in many ways, to do. Please refund the hold fee and 2months of membership IMMEDIATELY.

I just cancelled my membership this place is going downhill fast. They will do anything for a dollar. There's no integrity, customer service or anything. The gyms are typically nice looking with a few broken machines they refuse to fix, but that's not enough when the sales people are slimy.

They have shady sales practices. I signed up for a 1 year membership and was told before signing up that I would be able to bring a guest free of charge. For $110/month I didn’t find that to be ridiculous. I also asked for a chart breakdown of all the different memberships instead of a verbal conversation the woman proceeded to write them down and say they didn’t have that. Once I found out I had been ripped off I reached out to corporate they didn’t even return the follow up call as they said they would. I’m almost done fulfilling my year obligation but I’m now running into more people who have said the same thing happened to them. This is your warning! I wouldn’t be surprised if someone sues! You shouldn’t have to lie.

NEGATIVE REVIEW for this gym. I have had fraud from the Manteca location and have attempted MULTIPLE TIMES to get a hold of corporate to help stop the fraud from happening and have never received any kind of response. when I finally received an email from the general manager, he completely ignored my concerns and thought a credit of $18 would cover the $75 they FRAUDULENTLY charged my account after I had already paid my monthly dues for the month. I immediately cancelled my membership. THIS GYM IS THE WORST! THE GENERAL MANAGER SEAN, IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM! DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS GYM AT ANY LOCATION!

Hands down, the best gym in our local area!
I can't express enough how impressed I am with this gym. From the moment I walked in, I knew I had found something special. The equipment here is top-notch, and there's a wide variety to suit every workout style. Whether you're into strength training, cardio, or group classes, they have it all.
But what truly sets this gym apart are the amenities. The clean and spacious locker rooms with showers make it convenient to fit in a workout before work or during lunch.
One of the standout features for me is their childcare facility. As a parent, it's often challenging to find time for fitness, but this gym has made it so much easier. Their caring staff takes great care of the little ones while we parents get to focus on our workouts without worry.
The staff here is friendly and always ready to assist, and the atmosphere is motivating. It's evident that they take pride in maintaining a clean and well-organized facility, which is something I truly appreciate.
If you're looking for a gym that offers the complete package - great equipment, fantastic amenities, and the convenience of childcare - then look no further. This gym is a five-star gem in our local fitness scene, and I can't recommend it enough!
Keep up the fantastic work, Cal Fit!

This gym is not clean, has old and broken equipment, and the staff is not helpful.
Update: I see that Calfit asked me to email them additional information. I will be emailing them the following: Hi, I am emailing you because you responded to my one-star review on Google. Your facility is extremely dirty and dusty. There is dust and dirt on your floor, equipment, weights, vents, bathrooms, etc. The steam room does not appear to be cleaned on a regular basis. There was a tomato left on the floor in the steam room for over two weeks. Also, my partner and I called your facility this week to see if the steam room was working because we had seen a sign a few days before saying it was out of order. The lady we spoke to on the phone said it was working. However, when we got there, we found it was still out of order. We only wanted to use the steam room that day and it was a waste of our time and gas driving to your gym. It was very frustrating that your staff does not do their due diligence to provide accurate information.
Second Update: I emailed Calfit as requested and never received a response. They obviously are not taking my complaint seriously.

I don’t recommend this gym at all.
Me & my husband (military family) went to the Folsom location twice to get a tour (once before joining and once after) and no one could be bothered to show us around. The manager told us my husband would be sent an email, but never received it. The email was listed incorrectly.
I was willing to pay the exorbitant prices due to the classes and amenities that gave my kid something to do, but after going 3x’s in a week and hating the experience even more every time- rather than feeling better about it, I couldn’t justify paying that price for something that’s not useable and functional for me.
I’ve been to two different locations and the equipment is scattered around with no rhyme, reason, or layout that makes sense. (Meaning you have to walk across the gym to find one ab machine after using another-they are not grouped together by muscle groups). Who doesn’t work out targeting specific muscle groups on specific days? I spent more time walking around the gym looking for machines than actually exercising. I’m there to work out, not to go on a scavenger hunt.
I canceled my membership yesterday at the front desk (5 business days into the membership) which is stated in the contract you have 5 biz days to cancel. I guess we’ll see how this goes if they try to charge us or refund us. Went to planet fitness and bought a pool pass for my kid at the local park instead.
Update: the one excellent thing this gym did was the cancelling of my membership within the 5 day time limit. The customer service woman at corporate was so friendly and efficient. It’s unfortunate the gym doesn’t have her cloned to run the facilities.

If you are looking to close your account give them a 60 day notice , and few days to accept the notice ! it's not in the contract , and they won't tell you about it either . but suddenly in your bank account you will notice an extra month charged.
Make sure your cancelation notice is in writing to the Orangevale location -who would have thought , mostly a phone call to the office you signed up is enough.
(But this one is in the contract)
Contacting corporate with my issue very first time I called , the lady was extremely rude laughed and hung up . The other agents after her were fine. Finally, I was able to speak to a manager , i forgot his name - unfortunately , however he was very logical , took time to jot down the provided information and then draw out a conclusion that satisfied us both. It's unfortunate what I had to go through but I'm glad I was able to speak to this manager and this is the outcome. Now waiting for him to follow through with our verbal agreement.

What gets me to the gym, keeps me motivated, and super fit is my personal trainer, Justin. I'm a solo mom that works a lot and there is always something that needs to get done. Having Justin as my accountability partner is what keeps me working out multiple times a week. Worth every penny! I also really enjoy the workout equipment options, the cleanliness of the facilities, and the side shopping is fun too. I love that the merchandise has become more reasonably priced and a little splurge on new attire adds to the workout inspiration.

Cancel policy is to charge you for a final month for no reason. 5-7 days of processing and additional email steps required to cancel your membership.
