I can not express my appreciation enough to the Aquatic Fit Instructor, Maiselle at the Avenue S Location in Palmdale. If not for her motivation, I honestly do not believe I would have bounced back into my health routine as well as I have. Absolutely lazy staff , my first and only time going was terrible. Empty water bottles , trash, and dirty rags everywhere. I went to the bathroom and the toilet was clogged , no toilet paper, and no toilet cover sheets ... Lazy Staff. The amenities are nice , some cool things here, but the lazy staff and mess makes it completely unbearable. Within 2 hours of working out , I didn’t see one staff member cleaning. Also more signs for equipment would make it feel more comfortable because wandering around to see where different muscle equipment is feels weird.

I love coming to In-Shape although there are things I don’t like. They take their sweet time fixing broken machines. I really dislike seeing men in the women’s room. Like go to the weight room and stop taking up space/machines for the women who are scared to go into the weight room. Not a good idea to come Monday-Wednesday after 5pm unless you like fighting for machines/weights.

The management at this club is great and he cares about each of his customers and also personally jumps in to get things done in the club himself.
I have mentioned on occasion when machine was not working of the locker room was a mess and the manager takes ownership of any issues and gets stuff resolved fast. The management here and his staff are always welcoming and friendly leaving you wanting to come back to the club.

I do not recommend this place. I cancelled my membership due to a disability. I had to have emergency surgery. In order to avoid charging me, they wanted to violate my privacy and asked for documentation from my doctor. They charged me and I did not use the facilities. For 20 days I only used the pool and the high concentration of chlorine gave me nasal congestion and the flu. The water was cloudy and full of hair.

This place is horrible. The manager is always checking out the young high school students that attend here. Equipment is always broken and dirty. Kevin and KG are the same person. All the NEGATIVE reviews about him are true. He's arrogant always taking about how all the gym members love him, yet he talks down to women. He demonstrates narcissistic and prejudice behaviors. As a manager or manager on duty as he calls himself he's detrimental to the business. He said he's "enforcing rules" however when you point out he's incorrect with the posted rules he gets angry and then consistently follows you through the gym, to the point of harassment.

The gym is very clean. Equipment appears to be in working order. I have only used the pool and jacuzzi since I'm learning to walk again. All of the staff have been courteous and helpful.

I had an issue with staff. September has been great and tried hard to rectify the issue. Sadly the staff member seen nothing wrong with their behavior. An apology goes far when coming from the correct person.

It is off the hook!!!
I love ir really. Specially cause it's 2 miles seat from home.
But guys you really need to think about get some more equipment. There's only an hour during the day that my son and I get to go, and it's packed!!
And if we add all those kids (no less than 3) that take a bench or whatever and use it to talk and laugh, and at the end if there's any time left, the work out...
and you, you gotta wait mate...
Right now you got some spots around the place where you can get more benches and cables and a lot of things...(?)
The waiting r area is big, no need, not that many wait every day there. Make it smaller and get more machines!!!
I've seen some cubicles close to the pool area, usually empty(!?)
Take them apart, and get more weights instead....
You know, there's a place where for 25 bucks a month you become VIP member, and you get to have a plus 1 every day. Right know I'm playing 50 for 2 people. But, this other place is 16 miles from my home.
I don't like to drive.
Dont get me wrong, I love the gim, we really do. But there's some more you can do to make people happy...

One racketball room was taken down horrible decision. Now there’s only one Racketball room and it’s always taken by the same people who don’t even play for the whole 3 HOURS of getting the room. They leave the room alone to go workout and then come sit in it for 20 minutes, doesn’t make it fair for everyone else who actually use it to practice. I haven't worked out in a gym since I was a teenager. I signed up a week ago and have been going everyday. I love working out and then being able to sit in the sauna and shower after working out is amazing. I'm also in love with the massage bed massage chair they do a better job than the human hands. I'm looking to loose 30 or 40pds more. I lost 60pds without the gym so that's why I am working out to tone my body back up from the tragedy of gaining 100pds and all that loose skin.

I've been a member of this gym for quite a few years now and I've always loved it & been grateful to have a place to come & exercise.
I've seen a number of changes over the years, some good, some not, but ultimately it's a place that I deem fit to get a great workout & I will continue to frequent.
While no establishment is perfect, I appreciate the recent diligence displayed to try to keep the gym clean, safe, comfortable and current. I recently spoke with a manager about the things I would like to see improved; front desk etiquette, organization, updated equipment, etc. I really appreciate that he heard my comments and concerns and informed me of all the ways they are working to improve our local gym. So, overall it's a place I would recommend and look forward to seeing the gym become better and better.

Overall, this is a decent gym. I've been to many in the past 20 years in many cities. This one ranks somewhere in the middle. A generally good selection of free weights, cardio machines and classes.

A few negative points -

* The current manager can be rude. While the rest of the staff is pretty friendly for the most part, I have witnessed the manager (I don't remember her name) tends to be indifferent and unhelpful at times. I suspect she skipped that part of her training. Do better.

* Broken equipment tends to stay, well, broken for a long time. I have witnessed faulty equipment go un-repaired for months. This is a problem for a busy health club when you have lots of people clamoring for the same piece of equipment. If things remain broken, it makes the situation worse as you have more people waiting for alternates.

* The free weights area needs better management. No matter what time I arrive: 5am, 1pm, free weights are never racked correctly and disorganized. Finding the right weights can be a time wasting exercise. When you have a tight schedule and need to get the workout done in a timely fashion, this can be infuriating. I have not experienced such disorganization in other health clubs.

There’s kids/teenagers playing around the whole gym, taking up all the space and equipment just taking photos that get everyone and invade privacy and make a complete mess. This gym used to be great but post pandemic it’s now a kid’s club that can’t be taken serious. I understand business is business but ask any adult how they feel and you’ll hear how frustrating it is for them too. It’s a shame this is the only gym near the area if not they’d be loosing customers.

A bit pricey, but hey great gym with lots of equipment. Sure it gets busy at times, but that's what sharing is about. I'd say 4:00 begins rush hour or so. Love the energy here. Everyone is focused on their routines. They are even polite here. I do enjoy the women's workout space in the back corner. They do have a pool, dance/yoga room, tennis courts, etc.. Love the knowledgeable front end lady I spoke with. She gave me very detailed information about the gym and it's membership options for my particular needs. So, feel free to ask questions. Again, a bit pricey for those with low income. Exercise and maintaining weight or muscles should be welcomed for everyone's health.

I move around for work. Been a member of countless gyms. This has everything you need. Period. But I have NEVER seen such a mess at a gym before. Management is supposed to do everything in their power to keep the gym organized. Even if it means educating some members. You’ll be running around the whole gym looking for a pair of dumbbells and usually just find one. Outside. On the roof. In half. And for some reason super sticky. Obviously an exaggerations but it definitely feels like that sometimes. New management seems to be required. Or better training. Lockers are nice and clean. Nice cardio area. Need to replace exercise mats they are old and not enough for a class of 50. The bathroo faucets are not working properly. On the ladies' shower, one of the drainage is clog. When you take a shower, your feet bathes in dirty water. Overall, it takes them too long to fix anything that is either broken or not working properly.

Stay away from this gym. Kevin “the manager” at the east Palmdale CA location was very not helpful. I wanted to change my membership to that location. I thought that I had done it last month through the app. when I removed the hold on my membership. your prices when up on my membership this year and to do the transfer to this location for even less amenities was going to cost me even more. I am so upset with their service ! Then the constant up charges that they want to do for every little thing! I have been a member for years now. I expect to be contacted regarding this matter!
