I love in-shape for the kids club and family oriented activities. This gym is great for kids to go and have fun and let parents get a good workout in with the updated workout machines. I love the yoga classes and the sauna. My two escapes to get stronger and relax.

I do 1:1 with a trainer. They really help and very supportive in my workouts. The facility itself is forming into a great gym with all equipment clean and very easy to locate. Everyone is always— staff and everyone the goes there. They always say Hi! The facility is also clean. I love my experience.

Gabby, Tasha, Liz, and all the staff are friendly and polite. Liz is one of the best trainers I've ever met. Great kid's club with the nicest staff and huge play area. Highly recommend. Tasha is awesome and so much of the In-Shape staff are amazing - this is my primary reason for a five-star review. The rest of the place is 3.5-4 stars. So be good to your workers, they really make you shine, ISF owners. I also think it's a friendly crowd that comes to this gym. I like a lot of options sprinkled throughout to wipe down and clean machines. One of the must-have's in a gym is good A/C and being cooler - and this place fits the tab (but be warned oh sweet sweaty fools and perimenopausal women, the fans are off occasionally during their rehab going on right now. I don't recall that being disclosed when we signed up a short while ago). The variety of machines is nice - it varies from newer machines to machines that are possibly past their prime (but a lot of nice options for cardio machines, free weight zones, and regular machines - I dig it). My biggest complaint is In-Shape definitely need to expedite repair time on popular / higher-use machines. The front desk and the folks they hire is the main reason it's five stars. In-Shape Fitness Roseville folks, I know this layout is temporary, but please have some women lean in on the layout of certain machines and where they are and what they're facing (please).

I was a member at Lifetime for over a year. That "gym" was nothing short of constant pressure to upgrade and buy buy buy. I left Lifetime and joined CalFit and never looked back. After 3 years, I still LOVE IT. Best gym EVER.

I've been a member of (Cal Fit) aka In-Shape for many many years now. I find the dues are far more affordable than other gyms in the area for all my work out needs.

In-Shape have facilities everywhere so I can visit multiple gyms on different days to attend my favorite group class.

Hours of operation 7 days a week are perfect for anyone's schedule and their staff are always friendly and welcoming. This will always be my gym of choice!

Was way better under the California family fitness. Changed all rewards and now useless. I don’t want in shape hats for my rewards, I looked forward to using them for family to get temporary access. Free smoothies. Parents night out. All gone. Worse rewards. And the strictness, the app and need for all this technology makes it not as easy or home vibe. Also kid care used to stay open past one in summers and in fact all year round before the evil year of 2020 which we know was pointless, yet businesses like this are using it as an excuse to do a half A job. You have workers you can be open on Saturdays longer when all kids are home and through the whole day on summer days. You could have stayed the successful business you were in open on other states instead they joined a failed business and let them take over.

Great place! Looked at other gyms but the vibe here was the best. Glad I joined. The family seems to be happy with it. One gym we checked out that was suppose to be comp to In-Shape was kinda weird and a staff member gave us the ick. IN-SHAPE nothing but relaxing and safe. The child care is very frustrating here. They have a side for 3mo-4year olds and a bigger kids side for ages 5 and up. The bigger kids side is rarely ever open and they just get tossed in with the little kids. I do not think it is safe to have older kids running around with 3 month olds. Not only that but what older kid wants to be stuck on the babies side! We pay to use the childcare here and it rarely is ever fully open. I have gone to a few different managers about it but this is still going on after a year. They advertise a childcare side for younger kids and a separate side for older kids so do what you advertise! This needs to change.

Horrible customer service, cancelled membership due to moving out of state, randomly 5 months later had 329.00 taken out of my account. Submitted all necessary paperwork to them and am still fighting to get the money back 5 weeks later, only get generic emails. Do not waste your time with this company.

Update even after my poor review and them reaching out and me re-submitting all paperwork they still have not refunded my money. Do yourself a favor and find another club, looks like I will have to escalate my complaint.

The In-Shape gym on Foothills Blvd is only 7 minutes from my house which makes the "not enough time" excuse fall short. The staff is friendly and helpful. I have only worked with one personal trainer for TRX Suspension training. He really listened to what I wanted and provided me with some exercises that I am still mastering. The gym equipment is not new, but I believe it is well-maintained. When I have reported a problem, it has been fixed by the next time I went to the gym. I have attended some classes and give many shout outs for Lisa Snyder. She is amazing and frequently changes up the exercises. Zero boredom and variation make for great workouts and return visits! I have watched in awe at some of the Elite Step classes offered by Kimberly. I am also working out at In-Shape Citrus Heights to hone my step skills (They offer Simply Step and Step.) so I may participate in Kimberly's Elite Step classes someday! FYI, not saying I will drop the Simply Step and Step classes from my repertoire when I feel I won't embarrass myself in one of Kimberly's classes as they are still good workouts. Whenever I find the gym floor crowded, I can always find an empty treadmill, elliptical or stair master to use until it the floor clears out a bit. As I said, it is hard to find an excuse not to work out.

Long story short we moved from granite bay to roseville in August and started going to this gym. (Folsom childcare is amazing) I'm very disappointed in the child care.(and that's me trying to be nice) my son is 3yrs old and has speech problem. I've had 2 incidents already with them and the first one I let it go because why not give people a second chance. So forward to this past Thursday my son was placed in childcare last Thursday evening and when my husband dropped him off he made it clear AGAIN that my son has pull ups and doesn't use the restroom. Well my husband got paged that my son needed a diaper change and when he went, he found our son in the restroom alone with his pajamas half off him, no diaper and he had peed on himself while he was trying to wash his hands. I let front desk right away know that this was unacceptable as this was the second time and she assured me the manager would call me about this matter (and she was very apologetic). But as far as me hearing from a manger or any show of concern 😟 that hasn't happened. Now I have to drive to a further gym because I can't trust them with my son. They have been given 24hrs to address me and still nothing, just a run around. Don't bring your Littles hear.

I like joining the different classes that are available. The staff are very nice. I've been to quite a few of the locations. And I really enjoy the climbing walls. And I really and also like the elliptical trainer machines. The only criticism that I really have is that, they don't do the step aerobic classes much. And I really really miss those classes back when I was a member 20 years ago. Those are my favorite. Also, I don't really know why but it seems like the rowing machines are sometimes out of order. When I went to the one in Rancho Cordova yesterday, one was out of order so I used the other one. And when I went to the one in Roseville two days ago, both of them are out of order I believe.

I've been to a lot of gyms in the last 20 years, and I think this one might be my favorite. It's large, has just about anything you could hope for as far as commercial gyms go. I could nitpick and suggest a few pieces of equipment I'd like to see, but they have PLENTY of stuff to whatever you need. The staff is great, always helpful and kind. They frequently offer free personal training sessions, decent selection of classes, and the price is better than about any other commercial gym I've been at. Thetes always a good amount of people, but they have enough equipment that im rarely waiting for something to open up. The most important thing(to me) is that it is always CLEAN. The majority of members are pretty good about cleaning their equipment after use, but even with the outliers factored in, they keep it clean. There are constantly cleaning staff throughout the day Mopping, vacuuming, cleaning equipment and handles, refilling cleaning stations, etc. I can't recommend this gym enough.

I've had an exceptional experience at the gym! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the friendly and inviting atmosphere. The employees are always smiling and eager to assist, making me feel comfortable and supported.

I've also been impressed by the warm and friendly nature of the members. Everyone seems to be having a great time, and it's contagious! Even if it is 5 in the morning, Durresha & Eric always welcome me as I am walking in & leaving. I appreciate that positive energy first thing in the morning!

The gym itself is well-equipped with a wide range of machines and equipment, but I particularly love the squat platforms - they're a game-changer for my workouts!

The neon lighting and overall aesthetic of the gym is also a highlight for me. It creates a high-energy vibe that motivates me to push myself.

Lastly, the hydro massage has become a favorite post-workout treat. It's the perfect way to relax and recover after a tough session.

Overall, I'm thoroughly enjoying my time at the gym and appreciate the effort that goes into creating such a positive and supportive environment. Keep up the great work!

I love all the wonderful staff that works at the Roseville gym, our primary gym location. From the young guys who do check-in up front, the fabulous woman who keeps everything clean, and especially my all-time-favorite instructor, Lisa,, it’s a great place to work out. My husband and I attend the gym at least 3 days a week and see the same folks out on the floor, however its my Strength class with Lisa that’s not only great for my body, but has become a community of support. We work hard, laugh, share life, and are there for each other. We love our In-Shape gym!

As soon as you walk in, the staff makes you feel really welcome. The first time I visited, I met Tasha at the front desk. She was super friendly. We chatted about my goals and what keeps me motivated. Hearing about Tasha's own fitness journey was really inspiring and pumped me up right away. She's always got a big smile on her face when she greets people. Her positive and bubbly energy is extremely uplifting and contagious. I’m taking it all in, boosting my mood every single time I see her.

Cody helped me sign up, and his excitement for fitness and his positive vibe got me really interested. He took the time to ask about my past weight lifting experiences, my relationship with fitness and any injuries so we could set realistic goals.

Then he introduced me to Liz, who's an AMAZING weightlifting coach. Liz isn't just good at her job; she's really, really great. She's incredibly knowledgeable about weightlifting and biomechanics, ensuring our form is spot on at every moment. She's all about making sure we don't get hurt and that we keep getting stronger. Thanks to her, I've not only gotten better at lifting weights but also healed up an old shoulder injury.

Alec was also really helpful when he led the BodyFit classes. He always made the class fun and taught us a lot about how to do exercises safely and the importance of maintaining a balanced diet for optimal health and fitness.

And then there's Victor, who runs the VTL classes. He's awesome at making sure we do everything the right way and is always there to help out and answer questions.

Overall, this gym isn't just a place to work out; it's like a second home. The staff, including Tasha, Liz, and Victor, (and previously Alec and Cody who left for Natomas) are all amazing and make every visit so special. Alec and Liz are my daily inspiration. I'm really happy I found such a friendly and supportive fitness community.

4/8/24 update, this location got a lot worse since I used to go here years back.
Sauna needs complete makeover, floor is just bare concrete, wooden planks on benches are falling off, screws are not holding it in place. Also, since sauna is inside water fountain is a must

Covid restrictions are lifted, but cafam gyms still close at 21:00- 22:00, you charge same amount $ for membership, but close 2-3hrs earlier than before, thats a rip off. Open your gym till at least 23.00, for night shift workers 10pm is too early. Until then it will be a 1 star review

Closed multiple membership due to early closing times, i work noc shift, by the time i wake up theyre already closing, same precautions are used in evening as in day time or you think covid virus doesn't spread as bad during day time?? Makes no sense! close at least 23:00 then ill update stars and reconsider opening account

I love this gym! The Zumba instructors are amazing, staff are friendly, and management always makes me feel valued. I wish I knew the name of the woman that has helped me in the past. She’s the best! I was at another gym and it was literally impossible to reach the managers, let alone receive tip-notch service from. It may cost more, but it’s worth it!

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this gym is. We joined in September 2023 and absolutely love it. We are there nearly every day and take advantage of the cardio equipment, weights, classes, and sauna. The gym is extremely well kept and clean. Honestly, it's sort of unassuming from the outside. The main draw of this gym for me is typically the sauna, which unfortunately has been having issues for months now. The right section of the bottom seating area has been loose for weeks to the point where the planks will pop up if you do not sit just right. Staff has been made aware of this many times and as of yesterday, those planks are still loose. The bottom left section has caution tape thrown around it with a plank missing in the middle, and nothing has been done for at least a couple weeks now. The broken planks were also thrown in the corner, where they still sit. Every time I have been in there, other women are also commenting about it being a hazard at this point and how this is a known issue. I also heard that the light has not been working at all as well. I am not one to leave negative reviews unless I feel it is necessary in order to get movement on an issue. I love this gym, and the sauna is usually a fantastic experience!

Edit 2/24: Sauna and light have now been fixed. Sad it took so long but am glad the issue has been resolved.

Just read some of the reviews and cant help but laugh, if you look at the people who gave bad ratings they have a history of doing that with everyone, just look at their reviews they post, all negative all the time. Maybe it's not the gym, it's you. I've been a member since 2001 and I absolutely live Calfit over any gym there is. Everyone has flaws so get over yourselves people, stop complaining only when bad things happen, I'm sure there are lots of positive things that happened and you never bothered telling us so why bother telling us negative things. Go do something positive with yourselves.

Just canceled and let me tell you why.
There are many reasons why I didn't like this gym. Lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance on the machines, employees that don't really care about their overall job. Some of them, not all that is. People being barefoot or in their socks on the gym floor. Missing bolts or loose bolts on machines. Broken accessories. Out dated equipment. Etc. But. It was close to my home and it was good enough for the convenience of the location.

But today was the last straw. Mid workout I had to use the restroom. So my mom and I walked into the womens locker room and a woman is on her phone. I didn't think anything of it. I sat My belongings on the counter and walked into the back to the stalled restrooms. And to my absolute surprise. There's a man in there. Stunned. I asked why he was there and he said he was working on the toilets and pointed to the one I could use. And just stood there. I asked why he was there during business hours where women are changing here. - And the women with her face buried into her phone. Piped up and said no women are changing here! . I'm here to warn women!

Ok, well. Thanks for the warning...she allowed us to be shocked to find a man in the womens bathroom area. The neglegent woman just said i could still use the restroom...while the guy is standing on a ladder right outside the stall. Get real!

This is absolutely unacceptable! I spoke to management and they said there's a women in there to warn other women. I told them the facts of the situation.
The man who apparently is the manager could care less and gave a non empathetic apology of the situation..

So you have a gym that cant maintain equipment. Can't properly speak to customers. Can't make women or their kids safe and comfortable in the womens locker room. Or find a contractor to come before or after business hours to work in the locker rooms.

As someone who works in construction. I find that very difficult to believe. It's absolutely unacceptable and would advise anyone to stay away from this place. There are many kids and young women that go here. If you want your loved ones to have a safe environment/experience. Seek somewhere else.

I don't want a google automated response telling me to contact the gym about this situation either. I brought it up in person and they could care less. Membership cancelled. I've taken my money elseware.

I agree with the others stay away from this gym. They will fraudulently charge your account even after you cancel your account. The service was not what we expected so I stopped going. my sister passed away and I was so busy planning the services when I realized I needed to cancel my account. I called in canceled it yet was still charged again for the gym. Absolutely ridiculous and disgusting how they run this gym. I’m sure it won’t last it’s only a matter of time before they close down especially with the horrible conditions the gym is in.

Overcrowded and unsafe. There are way too many members for this small place. Lots of broken equipment. They keep rearranging where the machines are, but what they really need is a new location. And some better management. If you mention a safety problem to the management they say they'll follow up with you, but they just hope that you forget about it, and pretend they don't see you. I've been a member here since 2014 , and I'm now severing my relationship with CalFit. this place has gone downhill.

Insane prices and I was lied there’s a deal going on for $74.99 for whole year with 3 months free and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw that amount for only a month. Their place is very tiny and the coaches are of no use, staff doesn’t care and not welcoming for newbees. What a shame.

Two weeks back I’m calling to cancel my subscription and funny thing is they already put me on hold thrice, very unprofessional and very bad attitude. Wow

I have been coming to this gym for only 2 months and I usually use the sauna after my workout. Someone went into my bag and stole my nice running shoes that I got for my birthday last month. I asked the front desk associate to review the cameras or to help me but she could care less. She said her manager will look at the cameras 4 days from now because that's when she gets back from vacation. I'm switching to another gym because this gym doesn't care about their clients and if someone is stealing shoes in the gym, I don't feel safe going to this gym.
I been going to California family fitness for years and now that I moved to Roseville I had to switch to this location and already 2 months in, I got my shoes stolen from my bag and the front desk associates are horrible and don't care about anyone. No one ever says goodbye, areas are always dirty, and to be honest I thought the Roseville location would be a nicer location to work out at compared to citrus heights gyms but unfortunately that's not the case. Horrible customer sevices, and I will be telling all my friends, family, and my followers about this situation so hopefully no one else will be robbed coming to this location.

I've belonged to CA Family Fitness in the past over in Folsom when I used to live there. I loved it! Folsoms Gym is Two story and massive! The staff was friendly and helpful as well. I now live down the street from this one in Roseville, and it's always looked so much smaller than Folsom's or Rocklins, so I wanted to go in and check it out. The receptionist was incredibly rude! I wanted to peak my head around the corner to get a better view of the facility. She would not allow me to look without signing a waiver and talking to one of their staff members first.

I ended up just leaving. If I'm going to be treated like that when I'm not even a customer yet, I could only imagine how I would be treated once I was in a contract with them. I should be able to take a quick look at the gym to see if it's even worth my time. They want to intimidate you and pressure you into a gym membership right away along with getting all your info. This is terrible business practice, and I will def not be signing up with them. I will definitely tell anyone I know who's thinking about signing up with them to go elsewhere, Along with telling them my experience and others on this platform.

This is the worst place in Sacramento , the gym is dirty , the simulators are broken , the coaches are disgusting, they don't know how to coach, coach Cody is the worst incompetent in this place , I would advise you to move from this gym to other places where the first is cheaper and the second is a coach . The staff will never be polite to you , they are always dissatisfied , the toilets are dirty , everything is broken and wobbly . It feels like they don 't have a derektor and everyone does what they want .

Don’t go here. Cal fit is a scam and they’ll tell you one thing and make you sign a contract that has nothing to do with what you discussed. Trainers are pushy and will make you sign up for training you don’t want. Worst situation I have ever been in!

Closes way to early and they close the register for purchases way before closing time. I've been a member st numerous gyms. This is by far the the worst service and management I've seen. Once my year is up I'd rather pay double at lifetime and know they care and the facility is available.

California family fitness is honestly the best gym around. Love the atmosphere, the staff are always friendly (big shoutout to Dorian my idol) and the equipment is always clean. Going there is my favorite part of the day.

We toured 3 gyms today. We had every intention to tour this gym as well, was caught off gaurd when they wanted to see my lisence and make a copy just to tour. This was not a requirement for the other gyms. I get the liability waiver but ID copy really? I took this as a red flag for their practices and left. Will be joining a gym who doesn't want my left toe to tour.

Absolutely love this gym! The locations are convenient, selection of equipment is awesome, the staff is incredibly friendly and you can tell they love their job. It’s always clean and smells nice. Even the guests who come are genuine. It’s a great place to frequent!

Excellent equipment with a good variety to use. Dylan Williams is manager in charge of the personal trainers and does train a few clients. I am fortunate to have him as a trainer. Of all the trainers I have had, he is the best.
