There's a Btl class from 6-720pm in the middle of the gym wich covers the ground of several pieces of equipment during the most inconvenient time 6-720pm right after people get off from work. This is disappointing to several members who use the equipment. The spa has had a brown sludge in it the looks like 💩 for over a year. The pool in door is rarely drained and cleaned. The male bathroom smells terrible and is never pressure washed. The trainers are a highlight that's the only thing that's solid about this gym. 0 complaints about the trainers. House keeping and the mechanics need to get it together. Management needs to get it together they're allowing the gym to be dysfunctional steam room is down half the time. The blessing is this is a neighborhood gym it's close to hm a community gym alot of families are accepting the conditions because it's close to home. A pic of where the btl class is dead center of the gym taking up to much equipment space at the wrong time pissing alot of people off. The class of like 8-10 people needs to lay down turf and move back off to the side where they were instead of disturbing multiple people after work during a hot hr peak hr 6-720pm. Now November 2025 things are worse spa has been down 3 days steam room is back down. Heavy bags are down there's 2 of them, they have been down 3 weeks. It takes 1 days to replace boxing punching bags. New pics show sign steam room down plus two empty places where the heavy bags are supposed to be. Spa usually has caution tape around it. Update Nov 29th boxing equipment up 3 weeks later. Boxing equipment was put back up with new equipment better supported. Steam room still down spa back up.

I love starting my day with a morning workout at InShape Natomas! The facility is beautiful, and being able to walk the trail after my session is the perfect way to get some fresh air and clear my mind. Plus, the staff is always friendly and motivating - Vee and Cody are awesome! They're super supportive and make coming to the gym a great experience. Highly recommend InShape Natomas to anyone looking for a great workout and a beautiful setting!

Way under managed facility, I have been member since 2011 , I noticed your overall cleanliness have gone down to none or bare minimum, your shower area have black mold all over , walls , floor, ceiling- no where healthy conditions, your steam room never works , your sauna is dirty and never hot enough, temp always stays around 135-140 , could use 10-15 degrees. I honestly hope you will consider to step up your game to get this facility cleaned and well maintained, just like it was while it was California Family Fitness

Been going to this gym for about 10 years. What started as a great luxury fitness has turned into a dump. I’ve seen how over the years how it has regressed - quite sad actually because I loved this place when I was a kid. It’s now always understaffed, dirty, old equipment, and bad/aggressive customer service. The cost doesn’t justify the treatment loyal customers get. Sadly, I have to say that if another gym this size opens up in Natomas, I will immediately terminate my membership and leave. Hopefully the new in-shape fitness fixes all this. I’ll come back to edit this review if this happens.
Edit: I promised to change my review if this place ever changes and I’m keeping my word. They did job of cleaning this place up, hired competent staff, and got new equipment. It’s not perfect here but really happy with the progress.

Likely one of the biggest gyms of the many locations In-Shape now has. Daycare is a wonderful amenity and the gym is well kept. Some updated equipment would be nice but they do an overall good job.
UPDATE: they started updating a lot of the equipment, which is very much appreciated. 4.5 stars !!!

Same story as the other reviewers and the In-Shape owners will ignore this comment like they have ignored all the others. The gym is always filthy. Always has been, always will be. Don’t even get me started on how grotesque, smelly, and unsanitary the steam room is. I refuse to use any amenity in the pool area, and would only use the women’s room sauna. Which is usually broken, or even when it does work, the wooden slates are broken so you typically sag when you sit, or worse, I’ve gotten splinters from the aging wood. RIP to my favorite pair of athletic shorts.
There is never going to be two of the same dumbbell or weight plate at any station, so don’t bother trying. No, they have never wiped down, sanitized or replaced any mat, so I wouldn’t do sit-ups or stretch on one unless I wanted lice or a staph infection. Why is there not an overnight cleaning crew like every other gym on planet earth?
The staff they have could care less about walking around and re-racking weights or keeping the gym tidy and functional. They are too busy on their phones, looking at themselves in the mirror or trying to sell new gym memberships to actually invest any energy or attention in the gym goers. I wonder if they are embarrassed touring prospective new members past inoperable slides and tanning beds that haven’t been in service since 2020?
The hours are as bad as the unusable amenities, and they will randomly close for ridiculous reasons like Super Bowl or a time change. Be prepared to go to the gym and randomly find a piece of paper taped to the door telling you that it’s closed because the owners cat died.
They charge luxury gym prices, but provide a worse than Planet Fitness experience. If you would like to pay for Morton’s, but be served a Big Mac, this is the place for you. If not, join any other gym. We are cancelling 4 memberships before next year.
Edited to add: please stop telling us to email you. We shared our concerns in the reviews. Clean the gym. Clean the bathrooms, hire a nightly cleaning group. Fix things that are broken. We shouldn’t all need to email you individually, when you can walk around the gym yourself and see what is in disrepair and unsanitary.

Ever since CFF sold to In-Shape, it's been terrible. My current complaint is with the online account issue. Almsot every time we try to access the account, the app logs us out and keeps resetting our passwords. We've had to change it SO MANY times!!
Go back to just giving us cards if you can't get your app to work properly. But no, it's all about data hoarding and selling said data.

Horrible Horrible Horrible Experience !!!!!!
Some weird lady that was extremely rude and self centered ruined my wonderful experience I was having at this gym.. from flying on cloud 9, to being completely turned off by this place..
Not everyone want to look at you lady ! 😂
I literally made no eye contact with this WEIRD Lady doing cable kicks and as I was getting ready to sit down at the bicep curl machine she starts yelling at me !! I said nothing nor looked at her and she just started yelling at me because I chose the machine directly in from of her ?!? Like what the hell ??? I really hope In-Shape Fitness has a zero tolerance on harrasment. That woman is an example of someone who should Definitely should have her membership revoked!!!
I travel so much and try Soo many gyms and this was an embarrassing experience..
This place Makes Planet Fitness look like the gold standard to protecting its gym members 😂😂

I don’t think I will be coming back here for a while. While I’ve seen some great changes here and I love it I am very disappointed in the uncleanliness of this place and management. People don’t rack their weights, clean up after themselves or put things back, I cleaned a piece of equipment tonight that look like it hasn’t been clean in months (gross) seriously why is a membership almost $100 if the upkeep of equipment and environment feels and looks dirty? There needs to be a strict cleaning and weights policy put in place and definitely needs more staff to make sure things like this and upkeep running smoothly. Planet fitness is cheaper and other In shape locations looks much cleaner than this place. it’s like I am at someone’s house. This place has so much potential hoping to see more improvement in the future.
Girl with red hair working night shift
(I hope she sees this) at the front desk is very rude, doesn’t smile or greet you when you come in or leave or at least she greets who she wants to. I’m pretty nice and I love saying hi to people and while I usually don’t care if I’m greeted or not when I come in or leave, this has happened the past few times. I’ve tried being nice but everytime she’s always given attitude, pretty ignorant and to be honest it makes me not want to be nice back either and nobody should have to feel that way hence why I won’t be coming back for a period of time. Sorry but had to call her out like girl you represent the face of the business when you are working front desk. It’s very unprofessional in my opinion when you standing there with a stank face looking down at your phone and choosing not to greet or say goodbye to customers.
She looks like she hates her job or something? Honestly it’s giving high school mean girl energy, kinda don’t feel welcome anymore and it’s very uncomfortable so taking a break from this place until maybe I see better improvements with this place and staff etiquette. Seriously front desk girl needs to have better manners, otherwise please don’t work in customer service behavior like that should not be tolerated in the workplace. It’s really not that hard to do your job. Like it costs nothing to be kind even on your bad days. Let’s be real here my comment won’t matter. management will probably see this , copy and paste for me to reach out to them by email. Management should consider taking customer feedback into consideration and take real action to make those changes.

I was a member for a couple years until I got injured at work. I paused my account and they still tried to charge me. They also tried to charge an annual maintenance fee while I was gone even though they always have broken machines and don’t maintain much. The sauna wood looks like it’s from the days of the pirates.
I tried to ask for help from employees. They referred me to corporate, which no one ever got back to me. I had to tell my credit card to cancel payment and dispute charges.

I like this gym and wish I could rate it higher. It usually has all the stuff I want to do with little or no weight. The problem I’m having with this location is that I drive 30 min in traffic to come here instead of the one closest to me because they have a kid zone and rock wall. The rock wall hours are between 9:30 and 11:30. It’s all my kids talk about and want to do. 80% of the time we come and ask to do it we can’t because they are short staffed. Several times they have been over capacity at the kids zone. I pay and travel for this reason only and I’m tired of seeing my kids cry. This is the third day in a row that we have been here around 10am and told they can’t do it. Canceled my kids membership and will just go to the one on Alhambra by myself.

I recently toured this gym with the intention of signing up for a membership because it was promoted as a family-oriented facility. I was excited about the kids zone, the group classes, and the indoor/outdoor pool areas. On paper, it sounded perfect for my family.
Unfortunately, my experience during the tour left me really disappointed. The facility was extremely dirty. The pools were visibly dirty, and the jacuzzi was in very poor condition, so much grime that I wouldn’t feel safe getting in. The locker rooms were also in terrible shape, with filthy floors and an overall unclean feeling throughout. It was honestly uncomfortable just walking through the space.
What’s most frustrating is that it seems like all they’ve done is change the name of the gym, there are no real updates or improvements to the actual space. Everything looks worn down and poorly maintained.

Used to be one of the best and cleanest gyms in the area before covid pandemic. Now it's a joke there. You are better off going somewhere else. Feels like I'm getting ripped off paying for this gym.
Hours used to be great. They were OPENED LATE until 11pm/12am on the weekdays. Gym was STAFFED and gym was CLEAN. Now it's total opposite. Hours aren't as accomodating as it used to be, same old worn-out and rusty - for a period of time during covid some of the equipments were taken outside for use - equipments, short-staffed even after they got BOUGHT OUT, dirty and unsanitary everywhere inside the gym, broken and unsable lockers, parking is a hazard area (stolen/unattended cars that SHOULD BE TOWED and pavement at sewer gutter not prioritized), and new gym sign hasn't even been changed (all they did was put up a new gym banner).
This gym and company prioritizes money over culture and community and it shows over the years. It's sad but true. Talk to any seniored worker there, oh wait they're all gone! I lost count of how many new workers I've seen come and go.
Tons of new gym goers as the gym is constantly overcrowded but the gym has been short-staffed over the years. Where is all the money to hire staff or expand? The money needs to go to areas where it matters the most to the people who brings the profit: UPGRADE AND MAINTAIN THE GYM SPACE.
Changes need to be made from top down in chain of command.
UPDATE: 06/03/2024
I messaged the email provided below on 05/27/2024. Still no response back. I did notice that after I posted this review, the staff has removed the unoccupied vehicles from the lot, the pavement at the sewer gutter has been attended to, and staff has been cleaning more often inside the gym. I will bump the review stars up to a 3. Will give it a 5 whenever new equipments and all the other stuff I mentioned have been addressed.
UPDATE: 06/11/2024
I started noticing that people have been SNEAKING into the gym through the exit door in the basketball court. How is this even allowed, management?! Why am I paying almost $100/mo for my membership when others can just sneak in from the side? 1/5 rating again.
UPDATE: 08/13/2024
Broken equipments for weeks without getting fixed. Indoor basketball door still PROPPED open at the front side. FREE entrance there at this time of review if you're reading this.
UPDATE: 12/13/2024
My workplace offers a monthly discount with this gym so I used it. Unbeknownst to me, this gym charged me a fee use the discount.. Upstairs workout area got rearranged, machines are more spaced out, and there's a bigger area to stretch out. Still no new machines and equipment, however. And I still haven't received an email from their service staff to this day - email not in spam box either. If you're looking for a gym for your new years resolution, this one ain't it! Save yourself the money and go to Planet Fitness for a fraction of what this gym charges.
UPDATE: 06/30/2025
Operating hours have been extended. Wi-Fi at the gym hasn't been working for weeks now. Was told by employees that there was going to be a fix "soon". (I'm pretty sure all they have to do is reset the router.) Tons of broken machines upstairs still due to people slamming the weights, though some machines have been replaced. Employees now make announcements for people to pick up and clean after themselves, but majority of people don't as they have no gym etiquette. Maybe this business needs to just start revoking gym memberships to set an example. Don't know why people in this gym don't take care of things. Go to any Calfit/In-Shape outside of Sac and it's like night and day.

This family gym has some solid perks, but it's not without its quirks. We'd give it a 3-star rating – good, but with room for improvement.
The biggest draws here are definitely the aquatic facilities. Having an indoor pool is a huge plus, especially for families. And the outdoor splash pad for kids in the parking lot is a fantastic idea, providing a safe and fun way for little ones to cool off. Speaking of the parking lot, it's undeniably big and spacious, which is a relief when you're trying to wrangle kids and gear. However, it can feel a bit unsettlingly empty at times, so just be mindful of your surroundings, especially if you're there during off-peak hours.
Where the gym could really step up its game is in the organization department. We often found that things were a bit unorganized and not always in their proper place. This can make it tricky to find what you're looking for, whether it's a specific piece of equipment or just a clean towel. They do have mini equipment for kids, which is great for encouraging young exercisers, but again, keeping these areas tidy would enhance the experience.
Overall, it's a decent spot for families looking for a gym with a pool, but a little more attention to tidiness and organization would go a long way in making it a truly top-notch facility.

I would say this gym needs new management.
I say this for the following reasons.
Garbage all over (gotta say tho the people who work out here could stand some class clean up after yourself) overflowing garbage cans daily is unacceptable for what they charge. I see 4-5 staff walking around daily doing nothing (needs a culture change)
broken gym equipment is an ongoing issue. I understand time to time a busy gym needs to be repaired. Daily? come on.. pick better equipment you are in the gym game, play it at a high level.
The Elk Grove gym doesn’t suffer from any of these issues.

Good location, big gym with lots of amenities, and the occasional female hotties with tight spandex which are there for visual motivational support.
I would have given a higher review, but for the fact of bad maintenance of the facility, and lack of proper notification when something is being maintained. The CEO's and management need to realize a company is an investment, so keeping it maintained holds its value, which in turn keeps the customer more satisfied. Simple solution.
Id be more then pleased to assist this company, if they need someone with management experience, I'm back to student status and got some time. :)

Wow, lots of pros and cons here. It's a nice gym, a dedicated facility that looks like it was always a gym, always meant to be a gym. There are other in shape fitness branches around that don't look like they were a gym to start with, or something else like a racketball facility. This place is clean, almost all of the machine machines work well, and they have a good variety.
A couple of weird things, first there doesn't seem to be any open space for stretching, no yoga balls, no bosu balls.
Second weird thing, this gym is full of strange people! I mean most are normal but the couple weirdos stand out. Like, guys hitting the heavy bag as hard as they can, and standing back to see who's looking. Like come on, this is not a workout. You're not doing any sort of workout. Just doing your kung fu karate weirdness on a bag. Speaking of kung fu weirdness, I saw another guy running on a treadmill and throwing jabs and diagonal elbows. Like this guy was training to fight while running? Way too many people here on exercise machines but don't look like they're doing much of anything, looking at their phones not even sweating. The weirdest thing though was the bathroom, first of all it was dirty and disgusting. But it was surprising how many people were just kind of standing around and listening to music on their phones in the bathroom. Like, why are you loitering there? And do you really have to play the same mumble rap song? Are you battling each other through your phone speaker? It doesn't make sense to me. Put your phone away, put your headphones on, have some respect for other people. And don't be weird in the bathroom, because someone might fight you. Just saying.
If you can look past the weirdness, it's a nice gym. Honestly though, I recommend going during some off peak hour.

I gave it an extra star for the amount of amenities they have: indoor pool, outdoor pool (2), outdoor water park for kids, steam room, sauna room (women's only), and racquetball courts. I would've added wall climbing but they shut that down for YEARS so it's currently inactive. And I don't think it will be coming back any time soon.
They are severely understaffed I feel. The gym just feels so dirty. One look at the tile floors and you'll see how dirty it is. The cleaning station (paper towels and cleaning solution) is very often empty. So that means that most of the equipment you're going to sit on and use have not been wiped clean after-use. Bathrooms isn't regularly cleaned. There's this weird smell in the indoor pool area that even my friend and I noticed as soon as we walked in. Also .. a few of the machines aren't working. They don't have that pin that adds weight onto the machine so it's stuck at 5/10 lbs.
This is my main gym for only a few reasons:
1. The sauna in the women's locker room.
2. The machines are decently spread out. doesn't feel too crowded.
3. The classes they offer. (Kickboxing class isn't actually kickboxing. More like Zumba.... Unfortunately)
4. Racquetball courts.
Needs improvement:
1. Please clean your floors more often. Specifically the tile areas by the stairs. You can really see how dirty they are.
2. Please remind your staff to refill the paper towels and cleaning solution at the cleaning stations.
3. Please be more clean 😭. I don't even mind that you took away like 30% of your machines that you had before.. or that your staff isn't all that friendly sometimes.. Just be more clean

This gym is in very poor shape took a few pics of the sauna for clear transparency.
There has been a few on going modifications to gym but very slight. Most machines are always broken. Very old machines. And the price are not that cheap to be in this shape. I have been a member for 5 years and very minimal is done to this place.

Enjoy having lots of upper and lower muscle body workout equipment, cardio machines, and spin bikes classes as well as open for individual convenient times. Also, having updated woman's sauna was great! Lots of areas to work out weighs and floor routines. Love to swim all available areas outside and indoors pools, along spa is clean and strong jets!
Upstairs and downstairs are very organized various choices to do what you want to try out.
Very convenient and not too crowded during mornings hours till 4 pm, Fridays and Saturdays are even more less crowded in the evenings to closing times. My experience is always pleasant and want to say "thanks Natomas In-Shape you are Great!"

The worst gym I’ve ever been to. Only go here out of convenience of the location. Everyday it gets worse. Equipment is constantly broken and never gets fixed. The locker room is disgusting with standing water all over the floor. The ceiling leaks every time it rains. So overcrowded, parking lot is a nightmare. Can’t wait until I never have to walk in this dumpster fire ever again. Would give negative stars if I could.
Update 3/18/25:
This is the same response to every one star review you get. How about fixing things rather than a copy paste response. I counted 19 broken machines and equipment today.

I wish I could leave a 5 star review. But sadly can’t.
We have been attending the VTL fitness classes every week for MONTHS.
The class is 5 stars, hell I give it 6 stars! The only problem is the sudden limited availability of not only classes but slots in the class. As I said, we’ve been attending for months now and have had zero issues getting a spot in class. We pay an extra $10 a month to sign up a week early. Well the last 3 weeks getting into a class is IMPOSSIBLE. People have gone to lengths as far as setting alarms at 12:00 am to book the following weeks class. By 12:01 am all TWELVE spots are booked. The gym doesn’t offer the class more than twice on m/t/th (once at 6am and 6pm ) and only 12 spots per class. It is so frustrating for those of us who have been commited to the program for months. Chandler (the coach) is amazing and we wish we could keep our membership, but there needs to be a solution. More than 12 slots, more classes offered on class days or during the week, something.
Aside from the VTL fitness , We have adult adults upstairs with their young children (Definitely under the age of 12) I’m assuming because they don’t want to pay for the childcare down stairs.
And the basketball courts? Forget it. We got my 13-year-old son a member ship so he can play basketball. But the courts are either closed for volley ball, or there are a bunch of grown men not allowing anyone to use the courts because they decide to scrimmage for hours and re live their high school glory days.
The only pro I have found at this gym is it has a private sauna for the women’s locker room

I wrote a 1 star review months ago, and since then, In-shape has made changes to the club that are worthy of note. Mostly, the club is now VERY clean, and several upgrades have been made. I am proud to be a member. They are still lacking yoga classes and other senior activites. Hopefully, they can improve on that and reach a five-star from this member.

Make sure your contract started as you asked.
.I asked for a month to month membership with no penalty for cancellation.
After three months I tried to cancel because my son got sick. They told me I got a contract for a year because someone made a mistake when I applied. I froze my account with the manager Shalamar and paid the annual fee plus one month that I did not use. She tells me that I could freeze my account for a year.
After four months I get charge for monthly payments again and now I paid 250 for cancellation fees plus another month that I am not using.
Never again In shape family fitness.
They told me it was going to be resolved. I email them but they never responded.

I’ve given this gym a try. As positive as I want when I joined, I’ve lost interest in this place. My needs don’t need all the equipment.
Just today, the men’s trash cans were totally overflowing with paper towels, the base of the weight scale looks like it’s been outdoors for years.
All of this has been documented in previous reviews

(Update: Instead of fixing machines they took up a bunch of space upstairs for some fake grass section for cross fit or something. Then moved around the machines occupying that space to other areas making those more crowded.) Not worth the price anymore. Becoming more crowded, more machines broken on the regular and not being fixed. Sauna and steam room are usually packed if not broken / down for maintenance.

I began my membership at this gym when it was new. It was the crown jewel of the Cal Fit gyms with towel service, clean, top of the line (working) equipment, with convenient diverse classes. Those days are long gone.
I kept my membership for a year while I was told things would improve once the deal with In Shape was done and after it was clear In Shape was going to maintain the status quo, I ended my membership.
It’s disappointing to see how bad this gym was allowed to get. It’s overcrowded most of the time. Natomas needs a nice gym. In Shape had the opportunity improve and blew it.
The response of the comms account to poorly rated reviews shows this business doesn’t get it. If someone left a thorough review here, why would they waste anymore time emailing them directly? I can’t speak for the others, but before leaving this review I had many conversations with management, nothing changed.

As a long-time 24 Hour Fitness member, I was disappointed to find the nearest location too far away after moving to Natomas from L.A. In Shape was a convenient alternative due to its proximity.
While I appreciate the gym's size, I suggest adding more cable machines similar to the ones near the pool entrance downstairs.
However, I was deeply troubled by the gym's lack of order. It's disheartening to see members consistently failing to re-rack weights after their workouts. This creates a chaotic and confusing environment, as it's difficult to determine if equipment is in use. I've even experienced people taking my plates while I was briefly away for water.
I urge the gym to remind members of the importance of cleaning up after themselves. This simple act would significantly improve the overall experience for everyone.
Not to mention that the prices are a lot higher (more than double) compared to 24 hour fitness, I would have expected more "civilised" people but no.

This gym consistently frustrates and disappoints me on a regular basis.
The facility is always dirty, the machines are always broken, the water fountains barely work and the temperature is never consistent.
The staff are underpaid to the point of leaving and the gym will not replace broken or missing items for classes leaving instructors to improvise their classes with a lack of supplies.
The App is the least user friendly tech I have ever had to use for a gym in my life. It so ridiculous how complicated and how long it takes to check in a guest and reserve a place in a class.
The membership is outrageously expensive considering the quality of this gym and it is mind-blowing they charge more for a guest and privilege's to book classes sooner than 3 days.
The tanning and massage beds are a joke, and of course cost extra.
The only reason this rating is a 1 is because the building is standing and the instructors are good people. I continue to use this gym because my employer pays for it.

I considered giving a 3 star, but the fact that the bathrooms are always dirty gave it a drop down.
This location needs work in every aspect. Cleanliness does not seem to be much of a consideration. The few times I've interacted with the staff
have been fine, although they kind of just stand around and don't do much. There's a lot of equipment and the work out area is large but they don't appear to check on anything, including the behavior of any of the gym member, or have a visual presence other than the front desk check-in. This location suffers greatly because of that. The level of accountability and lack thereof from staff and management shows as soon as you walk in the door.

Been coming here for years. Cleanliness at this location is questionable. The air filters haven't been changed in years or cleaned(just cleaned 4.7.23). Black mold growing around all windows due to condensation.
Update 1.27.23 all mold and dirty vents still the same. (5.18.23 somewhat cleaned)
4.4.23 still not cleaned, all air ducks are covered with years of dust.(5.18.23 all air ducks still covered in dust)
Can we open up the gym a little earlier on the weekends people got stuff to do! 7am on weekends is unacceptable. Especially for the price we pay.
7/17 they are finally updating the inside with a paint job.
Please start towing people who park in the motorcycle spot. I can never park my motorcycle due to these people.

Unsafe and Unsanitary Child Care Center
They have a bunch of inexperienced teenagers watching children. In addition They are short staff and don't have enough People to watch the children.
My 3-year-old told me someone hit her and the next day she had a black eye. No one knows how that happened.
I've also seen a teenage boy using his feet to drag toys across the room period so when a child touches that same toy that was just Sandwiched between the floor and his dirty shoe what happens to that kid?
No wonder there was a foot and mouth disease notice posted earlier this year.
Since i keep being left on hold, I had to leave a review. I just couldn't let this go unsaid watching that boy drag toys across the floor was pretty bad.

The staff are all super nice, but the cycle room is always locked. I was told by a former employee that some of the cycling instructors lock it because they don’t like people posing in there and using the room. But if no one is disturbing their class then we should have the right to use it. We pay a monthly fee for that reason. Also half the staff are cool and unlock it for myself or other members but the other half say they can’t and then just flop at the front desk.

It’s such a disappointment to see the lack of care and commitment now that ownership has changed to InShape. All CalFit members were told and promised upgrades to the equipment and to the overall gym, renovations, etc. It now feels that it’s not family friendly, charging $20 a month for my 5 yr old granddaughter, who can’t use the pool because it’s dirty and broke. The bathrooms outside were disgusting. The floors are filthy, the gym equipment is run down, lots of equipment broke. The customer service is horrible at the front desk, if you’re lucky enough to get anyone up front. Our monthly fees went up, we loved this gym as CalFit as our whole family goes to the gym and love it, but not anymore under the new ownership. Too much money for the return. We will be actively searching for a new gym. Very sad and very disappointed.

I don’t like how I am treated with the new company taking ownership. They really seem like they couldn’t care less whether you find a new gym or not. I’ve been a member for over 15 years, I believe and they don’t even take that into consideration now that I am behind on my monthly dues. And all the points I’ve accumulated at the present time is useless except for purchasing a hat. I am going to start looking for a new gym if this is what the membership looks like now.

I’ve been coming here for years and have been super happy with my routine on the weight floor. This gym hasn’t had any 10 pound dumbbells for me to work with for months. If I want to lift I can no longer do it on the floor. I have to go to where classes are and use the weights I need there.
Pretty lame that I have to consider bringing MY OWN WEIGHTS TO A GYM. I’ve written comments cards etc. just talked to the manager she either can’t help or won’t? Was just like, “you can come here (this other room to lift) but sorry they must be getting stolen”
I just want the gym I drop a band on every year to have basic equipment.

I get to the upstairs floor and theres no 25lbs or 20lbs, whatever weights or equipment i may need to complete my planned workout. Yes, I do know what the gym gets busy and that not everybody will put the equipment back in place, but what are the people that work there for? Cal Fit IN SHAPE in elk grove is better at this. I have almost never had to improvise a workout when I go there because they make sure things are not lying around after someone is done using them and has left them there.
