I've been coming to this In-Shape location since February 2022, and it’s been consistently great! One thing I really appreciate is how clean this gym is, from the workout areas to the basketball court, everything is well-maintained.
The staff is always super helpful and friendly, and the machines are in top shape with a great variety to choose from. It’s clear the team puts effort into keeping things running smoothly.
The basketball court is also kept clean, which I really like. My only small gripe is that some of the basketballs are often low on air, so you have to be picky about which one you grab. But other than that, this place has everything I need for a solid workout.
Highly recommend this gym, it’s been a great place to train and make progress!

I literally had an employee rob me they used to take things in order to check out equipment and I left my wallet because who would ever think an employee would steal and when I went back they weren’t at the front they had gone home and when I get my wallet no cash was there she also ended up using my card and I was never compensated for any of this. This was just something I would’ve never seen coming. She was fired soon after. This was when I was in high school and the money I had there was in order to buy a yearbook and I didn’t get to buy one because of this. Don’t recommend. It’s been around 3 months and still haven’t been helped or contacted back by support.

Been coming to this gym for a few years i do calisthenics and this gym needs some major upgrades treadmils are broken and outdated half the time needs a new tarmack its old needa new pull up bars and more calisthenic friendly areas because its getting more popular needs new weights countless times i be slicing and diving my gingers on there rusted weights but overall i recokmend this gyk to everyone if your serious about lifting weights staff is nice havnt had a problem just this gym needs new equipment and a rehaul thats why ive it 3 star

Nice , clean and spacious place for exercise! There are plenty of exercise equipments, you have never waited for a machine! I love the free weight area with kettle bells, weight plates, rope, punch bag, You name it, In Shape has it! Sauna, Steam room and Hot tub… You cannot beat this place! Bathroom is clean! Staff members are very nice and friendly! No pressure! I started in August last year, nice young lady at front desk who gave me all info and offered me 3 days free work out! I just signed up after walking around the gym! I came back a day later to see Andrew with special discount for Monterey County Employee . Andrew was very patient and happily processed my request! Thank you Andrew for helping with membership selection!

I've been going to In-Shape for several years. I enjoy going to the many clubs throughout the state.

Showed up at 0507 in the morning. Nobody working could honor or sign me up for the 7 day free trial. The front of the gym looks commercial worthy but the free weight area was a wreck. At an hr past opening, dumbell weghts are all over the floor (trip hazards). Plates arent put away and the ones that are are stacked inccorrectly. For a first time visitor i can say the gym comes off as poorly managed.

in shape afternoon managers don't do their job...they allow people to go inside the sauna/steam room with their shoes and they dont care about it they also lack hygiene in the jacuzzi. they also need to put more equipments like dumbbells and accessoriesfor the cable machines

I came in at 2pm to add two more guests into my membership and upgrade so I and all my guests can go to all the clubs. They made some mistake so my guests could not get in. Even my husband came in to check them in. They still wouldn’t be allowed to come in by Ryan. Ryan should have been more flexible and customer friendly.

This gym has a good atmosphere the staff is nice and helpful. A nice selection of machine's to choose from. I wish the weight scale wasn't outside the locker room. The one thing that i don't like is the free weight section. Finding some weights are left on the floor which can cause a tripping hazard. Staff should inform new memebers to put them back on the rack.

This gym needs to repair or replace their equipment badly. Majority of the gym is merely machines and not enough free weights or plates for bench press/squat rack. Also in shape is constantly packed and for some reason alot of members are rude and have no gym etiquette or even bother to wipe off their sweat off equipment.

I am going to get his name next time (so I may post and share along with his picture), but every time I go with my two boys (we all have memberships) this white man always questions us to the point he wants to see ID’s even though they have their pictures in your system... so annoying none of your other employees do this except this guy makes me think he motivated to ask because of our ethnicity!! Other than this low IQ-employee, everything else is pretty good at this club!

As mentioned previously the biggest problem is some people do not respect others. It starts with not re-racking weights and of course that snow balls form there. By the time the evening rolls around the weights are scattered everywhere. I cannot fault management for this as it seems to be more due to the behavior of the clientele. There are also many that do give effort and try to respect others.

The facility itself is actually fairly nice. And if they had a semblance of cleanliness this would probably be one of the nicest gyms in the area. But the lack of people reracking weights is probably the worst I've ever seen at a gym in my life. Also there are some strange people that work out at this gym. On almost every session you will have someone barking at people or screaming their guts out. I really need to get a legit gym membership because inshape is wearing out its welcome.

Edit: Talked to the GM and he seemed like a good guy. Will continue to come in a couple more times but I'm at the point where this might just be a bridge too far.
