Went here for about 7 months. Gym is generally very clean and it’s easy to get the equipment you need if you don’t go around 4-5 PM. The staff is incredible, always super friendly and chill, always greeting you at the door. My one critique about this place is the weights are very disorganized. People are constantly grabbing weights off different machines and not putting them back, dumbbells have no system at all. Otherwise good gym

This was my first visit to this particular club. I was very impressed. I love the layout of the club, all of the equipment was in good working condition and it was really clean. I was hoping to catch a class, but there were none scheduled. The vibe was very positive, lots of fitness enthusiasts working out.

I enjoy this gym, been coming here on and off again for 10+ years. Over the years, I've noticed a concerning increase in the number of kids in the kids zone. I walked in last Wednesday and there was easily at least 20 kids, most of them being really young, and only ONE child care provider. Her name was Connie, and she's amazing, I have nothing but great things to say about her. However, I let her know that I was concerned leaving my daughter and adding more to her plate, not because she couldn't do the job, but because I knew there was way too many kids for one person. She was sweet and reassuring. But, The upsetting part was that there were at least 2 people right out in the front desk, and not one of them stepped in to help.

I walked to the front desk and spoke with one of the receptionist before starting my work out and asked if there was a limit on how many kids are allowed per child care provider and she said "mmhmm" I asked "how many?" and she responded "15."
I let her know that there seems to be way more than 15 kids and if they were at capacity, I would rather leave with my child.
She stated that another caregiver was on her way and would be out in a few minutes but based on my observation, I didn't see someone stay to help.

This is a growing concern, and I'm only rating this low based on my worry of my child or any child getting hurt.

I highly recommend this gym. They’re great and very responsible and they have a great attitude and a great organization. The staff are wonderful and the place is very clean. Previously attending gym in Ceres / Modesto areas with no issues. Changed to Turlock due to relocating. Turlock gym is too small and packed with too many people. Constantly having to change workout plan / machines bc you can't get on equipment there. Too many people, they need larger gym space / equipment for the volume of people attending turlock gym. Will be looking at alternatives if turlock stays crowded.

I canceled my family's membership (and paid the cancelation fee gladly - just to be gone) around 2 months ago, and this review was pending on my to-do list, but here it goes. I've been in so many gyms in a lot of different countries, but this one is the worst from far!

Terrible gym! In so many ways that I don't even know where to start...

- STAFF: less than a handful full of them were friendly and professional - Cindy, Maribel, and a guy who I unfortunately forgot the name were always nice, the rest OMG they couldn't care less! Always on their phones and barely acknowledging the members. Amber is one of them. She is quite uninviting and shows poor professional skills. Im mentioning her cause we had to interact a couple of times, and it was unpleasant, to say the least.
One day, I went to the front desk to get some help with my app, and I had my kids with me. They're both very friendly and nice to people. So in the meantime, while I was being helped, a class instructor lady was also there doing something else right in front of us, and my kids said "hello" to her. She didn't even look at them! With the most arrogant face, she pretended to be deaf. I wonder how amazing her classes must be...
I never saw the manager. Which is a big red flag. Cause the manager should be the face and the attitude of the gym! I understand the manager is busy with other tasks, but walking the floor once in a while, welcoming and engaging with members so people feel welcomed is a must!

- CHILD-CARE: I used to take my 2 kids in the afternoon, and I really liked the 2 ladies in there. Connie was very caring and attentive to the kids. My kids confirm it. So that's a positive point (the only one, I'm afraid).

- EQUIPMENT: the equipment is ok. Not close to being great, and they should have more of some machines. They're very poorly organized, but nothing beats how bad the weights are all scattered around the gym! Like, I mean it! Trying to find the dumbbell you need is a challenge! The plates, too, but the dumbbells are the winners! Never saw anything like that! STAFF should be more actively checking the gym floor...organizing, cleaning, and nicely encouraging people to re-rack weights.
Cardio equipment is fine. They don't have good elliptical machines, though.

- CLEANINESS: The floor is very dusty. Ladies locker room / bathroom is fine. But members in general don't clean after they use the machines. Maybe they think they're special and don't need to follow the rules (btw, there's a lot of those type in there " the special VIP people.") Uugh! 🤢

Well, if you're looking for a welcoming, we'll organized and nice gym, that's not the one. I feel sorry to say that, cause if you really need the child-care In-shape is one of the only options in town. =(

A handful of very impressive employees with phenomenal customer service skills. Does get very busy from around 5 pm to 7ish. Good selections of machines and satisfying amount of free weight. It's not the place for out of ordinary lifters, very commercial. Clean throughout building, including lockerroom and very convenient location wise. I do wish the staff would take more of an initiative to hold customers accountable when it comes to re-racking their weights.

I've had a great experience at InShape, Turlock! The gym is well-organized, with equipment that is strategically placed and well-spaced, making it easy to move around and get a great workout in without feeling crowded.

It’s been great! I have seen so much progress with my body. I enjoy each class cause they have really good instructors. My baby girl adores going to the day care there cause the girls there are so caring. My only struggle is the location cause I always want to go shopping or eat 🤣.

This place has been going downhill since the new manger took over. The bathrooms are always dirty, and the gym floor is noticeably dirtier. Most of girls at the front desk are always talking to each other or on their phone and hardly acknowledge you, though there are a few that are good. Craig was way more involved with this place in every aspect, and it's a shame to see him go

I give it a four star rate gym is highly clean in all areas including the restrooms. The front desk gals are great at welcoming. The only thing that the times that I drop off my girls to the kids zone and as well as I pick them up there’s only one gal in there I’m not quite sure her name but my girls say it’s Connie the one that is always there by her self. And I’ve been to other clubs and they normally have two gals in there and I’m pretty sure it does get overwhelming to be with 5 plus kids for only one gal.

I found this gym to be a great place for a good quality workout. The facility is clean and well-equipped for just about every fitness style. The staff is friendly, attentive, and welcoming.
I was in the area for a work related trip and found the gym to be a terrific spot to get my fitness training in without any problems.
Much appreciation to the GM, Craig, he was super kind and helpful with setting up my membership with no pressure or hassle.
I have no major criticisms about this place, only a minor one. That being there's only one full rig squat rack, so it can get a little bottlenecked on leg day. There is a half rack and a Smith machine as well, but for us squat purists, there's no substitute for true rack.
Overall, I was very pleased with the quality and service of this location.

This gym is okay. Equipment is squished in the weight room so you’re often walking through peoples workouts. They only have one seated row in the weight room as well, so if your planning to use it for back it’s hard to get. And this place gets packed, so it can be hard to get the equipment you want. A lot of times there’s no locks for the Olympic barbell. So I just bring my own from my home gym. The bathroom upstairs gets pretty gross, but I do see the staff cleaning the equipment often. And the downstairs bathroom stays nice. Overall, if I come when it’s less packed I get what I want out of this gym, which is the machines I don’t have at my home gym. But some upper body days I’ll just do half my workout there then go home and finish because upper body in the weight room is always too packed. At least with legs you can kind of go to different areas unless you’re doing squats or deadlifts.

Staff and management are outstanding. Always friendly and ready to assist whenever needed. Craig is always roaming the floor checking on his patrons to make sure everyone is have a great experience. Top notch crew! I’ve been to other gyms and the employees always seem like they don’t want to be there with faces buried in their phones. This is definitely not the case here at In-Shape. I like this club. I like the hours and location. The equipment selection is pretty good. The staff and patrons keep the place clean. I’m very concerned with the poor mask compliance on the part of other members though. It’s a “health” club. My main goal is to be healthy. Everyone is SO SWEET at the Monte Vista location. Super clean and organized. I never worry about not having some machine or set of weights available to use. Locker room always impeccable. Definitely happy to have switched back from Planet Fitness!

In Shape is great for a quick workout or a more intense workout. They offer a free weight room, strength training, cycling class, Zumba, yoga, Barre, various elliptical equipment and treadmills. The atmosphere is non intimidating for n that I feel that I can blend in without feeling that people are watching me. In Shape has a locker room with showers, but no Sauna, tanning beds or pool. For what they offer, I feel that this club is worth the value paid.

I really liked the Turlock location. The staff was friendly. The facility was very clean and had a good vibe when you walked in. I loved the equipment, there were different machines that i had not seen at the Modesto location before. I liked the layout of the gym. The only thing that I was disappointed about was that they didn't have a pool or spa at this facility. But other than that I definetly give it a 10. I will come back to this location often.

Nice people at front desk. They need more small towels (a lot of times they are out of). Men's bathroom needs more attention (cleaning, and more plastic bags are needed). They need to dust their A/C system. It's so dirty. And some of the gym members either need to wash their clothes and/or use deodorant. They stink.

This is a nice clean gym. The parking is a little difficult at times, but hey.. we go there to workout. So what if you have to walk a little bit more right?. They have Courts there too, to play Racquetball or Handball. I’ve been going there for about 4 months now and haven’t had any bad experiences so far!

My experience with the manager Kristin was horrible. I am a member, it was my first time going to the Monte Vista gym. I wanted to take a tour to compare with the other gyms. My daughter and I were not allowed. She brought all her workers out, while she lectured me publicly instead of in her office. My daughter and I felt harassed. So sad.
