A few years ago, I cancelled my membership with City Sports because they didn't have a steam room/sauna/jacuzzi and went with In Shape because they do. Fast forward to late 2025, they got rid of the steam room and expanded the sauna room. I'm glad the sauna room is bigger(it's beautiful by the way)but so disappointed of losing the stream room. Fortunately I can go to the Napa gym but what a shame. There's a lot of us who appreciate the stream room. Why not get rid of the bathroom and put the stream room in it's place? People will cancel their membership because of this, similar to why I cancelled my city sports membership.

My experience at the Lincoln location is the best overall gym experience so far. Every aspect of the gym experience is a 5 star standard. IN Shape is so fortunate to have a totally professional and excellent management at the facility. Blanca is the epitome of a top level manager. Her intelligence, customer service skills, problem solving knowledge and one on one care is so rare. IN Shape has a gem. Being a professional 62 year old black man, I know what excellent service is like, and she has it. She has trained her staff to reflect her level of professionalism. They are responsive, understanding and informative. The facility is always clean, and the exterior and interior, the equipment are always in working condition and the parking is available. There is always a lack of wipes to clean equipment, equipment broken down for long periods of time, and the new room with equipment feels misaligned. I am a 62 year young senior and I have been a member ct inshape for a while. And my family as well. And the manager Blanca Munguia is such a blessing for all of us seniors cause she listen and she cares. She knows her job and delivers excellent service. For one getting Darron our club tect, he has this place in tip top shape. With the condition of ph in spa and pool. But for me the biggest is our music back working as we swim it was not worked in years. Yes our team here in Vallejo is the best.

The gym itself is great and has a lot to offer. Unfortunately it feels like the workouts are constantly being distracted or thrown off by members yelling at the top of their lungs. I can't remember the last time I had a full workout with someone yelling in my ear. Some will say use noise cancelling head phones, and I have. To the fullest extent that the volume goes. The gym is a therapy and personal time for a lot of people, and it feels like it's constantly interrupted by some members. Got a gentleman who comes in and screams the whole two hours he's there. I don't know when it became acceptable to scream and announce to the whole weight room that you are starting a set. Would hope the staff would say something but to each their own. Hopefully in the future the staff or Manager addresses the yelling because after 2-3 years it's getting old. After a long day of working, no one wants to hear all that. Grunt all you want but why scream? Several members have said it, and often leave the weight room out of annoyance.

Consistently being late in opening in the morning. They are supposed to be opened by 4 AM to cater service for certain demographic of people. The staff and management is unashamedly disrespecting by keeping its members wait outside the service road and unmindful of others people time and schedule. It’s a good clean gym. But major reason I got this membership was because of the Steam room. Been here 3 weeks and has been down. Talking among the gym members of wanting to cancel because of it but they say it’s always broke and parts are on the way. Never gets fixed. Management is EXTREMELY aggressive with memberships. Whatever woman was working today at 11am and is the manager was trying to hustle me so hard into staying at this gym😂 *I have since being on hold for several minutes CANCELLED. But why did she get mad like I cancelled my membership at HER gym? Be more professional and stop taking stuff personally. It’s unnecessary !
So glad I never went. Seems hostile and uncomfortable.
ALSO do not sign up unless you are gonna turn into a gym rat. They want the money. So make sure it’s a VERY thought out process. Bc canceling your membership is borderline IMPOSSIBLE.

In-Shape Lincoln Road is the place I work out and lap swim regularly. Blanca and Terrell manage the place. Together with their team, they make sure the fitness center is safe and welcoming for its members. Kudos also to Ronald, who is the custodian, and has a never-ending job keeping the place clean, especially the dressing rooms and showers.

The cleanest gym I’ve gone to. Not very crowded. A bit pricey which I understand, but im very grateful to have a membership here. My only wish is that I really want a designated place/clear area to do hip thrusts. They have tons, like so many… machines for upper body and lower. But sometimes less is more. Using your body and a barbell is the way to go for some. But besides that I am content with this gym.

I'm so happy that In-Shape has an intro Tennis class. Tony, your instructor, is skilled, knowledgeable and encouraging. My skills have greatly improved. I wish that you, In-Shape, would promote tennis the same way you promote the other court game by putting up banners and having tournaments and also offering it in the after work hours so members have a real chance to come to tennis class. I have been attending this class since July. All that time I reserved my space but didn't know that I had to scan in with my membership card so my attendance has gone unknown to management. This tennis class makes my experience at In-Shape fantastic. I joined this club because of the tennis courts. Please add evening time slots to give Tennis a chance to grow.

240710: I joined InShape because of the so-called late hours because I get off work late. Although the gym says they're open until 11 PM, tonight the steam room closed at 10:30 PM, which I learned when the worker opened the door and yelled at me saying "we're closed!!"

So, what's the point of saying you're open until 11 PM when you're clearly not. Members should have access to all amenities during operating hours.

Not off to a great start, InShape...and I'm now stuck with a year of this because I was misled when I enrolled.

Great gym, staff is friendly and helpful and always cleaning, especially lately since it's under new management. It's reassuring to know that In-Shape is taking covid seriously. I've been a member since 2016 and this is the cleanest I've ever seen the gym since joining!

Lots of equipment to help you reach your fitness goals, it's usually very orderly, although sometimes other gym patrons leave bars, weights, ect out of place. Even with the lack of consideration from those people staff walks through often to put things in order!

The indoor pool, hot tubs and sauna are the nicest in Vallejo, and perhaps the nicest out of all the "in shape" locations in the area, Vallejo is very fortunate to have such a great health club.

My boyfriend and I went there to use the free 3 day pass because we wanted to switch to a new gym. Can confidently say it will not be this one. We didn't get greeted when we walked in, so we went to the computers in front of the window that said "new member? sign up here." An old woman at the front desk rudely told us not to touch or use the computers and to go over to the front desk. When I told her about the 3 day pass she told me I would have to pay $20 dollars a day and that there wasn't a 3 day pass, I showed her my phone for proof then she back tracked and told us we would have to schedule a tour and then come back to use the 3 day pass after the tour. Extremely rude customer service, you think In-shape would hire friendly staff while charging $60 a month but that is not the case.

The staff at this club are always friendly and very welcoming. Some of the equipment is older but the manager seems to be on top of getting any repair done in a timely manner.

As for the clientele, I have never had a negative experience with anybody at this club. There are plenty of friendly regulars.

It has the potential of being a really nice gym. They have a pool, a spa and it's pretty decent all around, but when you get in the spa you're definitely going to gag. These hairballs, other unknown stuff, and flies have been floating around for over a week in the spa. I don't know how difficult it is to clean but somebody should do it.

So today still floating hair etc that looks the same as before. The people in the spa are saying that the guy came and checked the chlorine level but they don't think he used the net. Well I don't think so either since the net is in the same position as it was when I posted my review and I noted where it was positioned by some markings on the poke and wherebit rests. The net also has tons of debris in it that's all dried up and sticking the net together. I gabbed the net myself and netted the spa. All they have to do is take one look at it I mean you can see it right away if there's hair and stuff in it and if they're out here just knit it out real quick... Set up a schedule several times a day maybe to clean it. It took me just a couple minutes including getting the net and taking pictures.

The owner responded but I haven't had time to reply but I assume even without a reply they would handle the issue. Going down to 2 stars as staff is not up to the job apparently.

Today spa wasb very clean. Someone did a nice job not a thing in it. Going to rate them a 4 up from 3 and 2... Keep it up

I've had to edit reviews here over the years. Here's where we are post pandemic, early 22...

It's still one of the nicest places anywhere near here. Weights, machines, classes, tennis courts, basketball, massage equipment, pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna... It's got it all.

Most of the time it's pretty good now. They clean much better, but there's always soap scum in the showers, and while they clean the steam room regularly now, they need to do a deep clean. They used to be terrible at cleaning under previous management so it is improved...

However, it seems like the hot tub is always broken and even when it's not they close it to check and add chemicals during open hours. It's unnecessary. Beginning and end of day are enough... So it'll be closed for a week or longer then it opens, I go get in it and staff comes out to say they need to close it for 15 mins.

These guys could be so completely 5 stars if they really wanted to be. Staff is great. They have no control over these things... But it really does have room for improvement.

If I managed the place I'd figure out what kind of product to strip the soap from the showers and what kind of deep clean or pressure wash was needed to get the grout in the steam room looking clean, and would not be closing down amenities during open hours. I'd figure it out, and thus far, I've not experienced high quality management here, but if they did it they'd be #1.

I've seen a lot of members complain and leave over the years. I've stayed. It's gone down hill and it's pulled up and improved... So call it 4 stars. A really nice place, but things breaking too often and closing the hot tub for chemicals midday, are what you can expect. Rather nice, just not top notch.

Random cardio equipment split between the 2nd and 3rd floor and the free weights is all the way on the other side. Second, free weights have definitely seen better days and no variety whatsoever. It looks like the gym got their equipment from a foreclosed old gym. Third, it seems like a good amount of their equipment is broken and unusable. Literally got added on, used the gym for a week and told my wife we're canceling and going to a different gym especially for the price they charge

Overall a good club. Doesn't have the variety or duplication of machines I would prefer, but it has what I need and is a clean, open space. Staff has been courteous and friendly

I have been a member of In-Shape Lincoln Road since In- Shape took over about 5 years ago. We have gone through several managers and staff over the years. Currently, the team ( Blanca, Kristin and Tyrell) running the facility are outstanding. I use the gym at least 3 times a week swimming, using the hot tub and steam, taking classes and playing pickleball. It is a pleasure to go there. Staff is always upbeat and helpful. I've only been coming to this gym since mid September 2021. SInce then we've experienced quite a bit of uncertainty with all that's going on in the world.

I frequent the gym maybe 3-4 days a week since I've joined. I know a handful of staff by name at this point, with each interaction being pleasant and courteous. This staff has worked diligently to not only keep the gym open, they've kept it clean and organized. I've read a handful of reviews over digital platforms people use, and I mostly disagree with the comments towards cleanliness and staff customer support. This place is doing great, much better than other places I've heard about.

To the concerned people around masking and what the world is going through. If you're that worried about masking and others not wearing a mask or wearing them properly. It's simple, don't come to the gym to begin with, this will save you a headache. By no means am I down playing the pandemic; however, I like to use a sensible mindset about what I'm doing in the world. I wouldnt come in each week if the place wasn't kept up.

I've increased my rating from 3 to 4 stars based on the fact that they have dialed in the maintenance of the pool water over the last year. It used to be hit and miss on the clarity. The hot tub seems to always have an issue and is out of service quite often. When it is running, the water is maintained well. The front desk (especially in the mornings on the weekends) have very friendly staff.
A full time parking lot attendant is needed as there are a lot of break ins. If this was added, I may be willing to give 5 stars.
All in all, probably the best gym in Vallejo.

Really a awesome gym and the best part is how clean this place is! Far better than the others I’ve been in and it never smells like corn chips! Thanks to the awesome custodian in the ladies locker room I feel comfortable with knowing it’s been cleaned and sanitized daily! My favorite gym and staff!!

Ok let me get this first out of the way. I really love this gym. It's got all of the equipment and amenities i was looking for. The Staff are always kind, friendly, and helpful.

Here is the reason for the one star. I had stopped going to the gym because they did not require masks while working out and the Delta variant started showing the ability to effect young kids, I have a 3yo and another on the way. Today I went back to the gym because over the weekend they announced that masks will be required effective immediately. Now instead of showing up to the gym and seeing everyone wearing masks I see about half of the patrons not wearing masks. One of the staff even stated, "if you think the morning is bad you should see the afternoon." The staff are not enforcing the new mask policy. You can set a policy, but if you don't enforce it than it's moot.

I'm not risking my pregnant wife and child. I think it's irresponsible to do so. I am suspending my membership ASAP and will leave this review at one star till either 2 situations happen. Guaranteed enforcement of the mask policy, or COVID is no longer considered pandemic.
