Intelligent Movement Systems in Chula Vista was founded in 2000 by Michael Driscoll, a professional dancer, a certified PILATES, GYROTONIC® and FELDENKRAIS® Practitioner. Revitalization of every client through a refreshing mind-body experience that improves awareness, coordination and develops an evenly conditioned body for improved functional movement The strength of Intelligent Movement Systems’ training is individual attention. Workouts are available either in private instruction or in pairs. This allows training to be customized for people’s individual needs, the idiosyncrasies of their body structure and their fitness levels. We have a results-oriented philosophy. After having 2 boys my body felt a bit foreign to me. I was looking for a way to regain strength and reconnect with my body, and Michael at Intelligent Movement Systems was the perfect guide. His thoughtful approach helped me not only address physical weakness but also build confidence. He focused on breathing and mindful movement, which has been so important for my mental and physical well-being. The sessions were a calm space for me to focus on myself. I had a fantastic experience with Michael at Intelligent Movement Systems. I initially came to him with back strain and poor posture. Michael's expertise was invaluable; he taught me to be more mindful of my spine's movement. Thanks to his coaching, I've learned how to use a foam roller to keep myself aligned, and the results have been amazing. I'm so grateful for his help and would recommend him to anyone!

I have been dealing with the nagging effects of a herniated lumbar disc resulting in sciatic nerve pain for over a year now. I started seeing Michael about 5 weeks ago and have finally had several pain free days in the last week or two. Michael is an expert in body mechanics and has efficiently determined some of the major root causes of my issues. If you are looking for a real solution to the underlying sources of your body pain/disfunction I would look no further. I have not found anything within traditional western medicine that offers the kind of true solutions that this approach has offered me.

Before accepting movement limitations as your new reality, reach out to Michael with Intelligent Movement Systems. Through our work together, I've made fundamental changes that have vastly improved the way I move through life. Prior to working with Michael, I saw multiple PTs, heard unfortunate prognosis from medical doctors, tried sports massage, dry needling, and various other things. None of them made an immediate, let alone a lasting impact, as Michael's instruction so clearly has. I am excited about movement for the first time in ages, and am already re-engaging with activities I had all but written off as a casualty of medical conditions and a sedentary world. Michael is certified in Pilates, Gyrotonics and Feldenkrais methods and is especially talented at crafting individualized sessions to target his clients' issues. There are no cookie cutter solutions here! I have experienced rapid recovery from two different joint surgeries due to pre- and post-operative work in his studio. For the long term, Michael has helped me develop body awareness and taught me exercises to address a lifetime of habits resulting in back, shoulder, and foot pain. He always asks questions to clarify my issues, listens respectfully, and does additional research if needed. Anyone at any stage of life can benefit from his expertise. I cannot recommend Michael enough.

Michael is the third pilates instructor i have had, and is far and away the best. His attention to detail and his ability to tailor a program specific to own needs is part of what makes him so good. He is experienced in pilates, gyrotonics, and feldenkrais so there is something for everyone. I have some scoliosis which is not painful, but does affect how i move and we work on that, and otherwise i go twice a week to help with balance and core strength which diminishes as we get older yet is so important to maintain.
I obviously would recommend Michael for whatever your problem might be because he can most probably can help you.

Michaels' knowledge and expertise in wellness and physical rehab have been life changing for me.
I'm a very active 64 year old that previous to my sessions with Mike suffered from chronic back problems including herniated discs.
The result of my 1.5 years working with Mike has been a feeling of confidence and strength in my back and overall fitness and flexibility I haven't felt in years.
I just played my 3rd best round of golf, driving the ball like a young man again and continue to hold my own playing hockey with those half my age.
I would absolutely recommend Michael to anyone who wants to lead an active, pain free life.
