I started working out with Hien part-way through my second pregnancy and now postpartum. I was looking to build muscle and prevent muscle issues like back pain and tendonitis, which I had after my first pregnancy. Hien challenges me with weights and exercises I would have never thought I could do, yet I enjoy the sessions so much that they just fly by. Hien is super friendly and relatable as a mom of two young kids herself, so she is fun to chat with during the workouts, yet she also remains professional by staying on track with the exercises and on time with the sessions. She is also very knowledgeable and well-connected to resources in the community. For example, she correctly diagnosed me when I had pubic symphysis pain and referred me to a prenatal chiropractor who relieved the stabbing pain in a couple of sessions (after none of my doctors' recommendations helped).
I never worked with personal trainers prior to having kids, but now am so glad to have Hien as one of my resources in my "village" for pregnancy and postpartum. I see the difference in my energy levels, strength, and pain (much less) with this second time postpartum compared to my first. Highly recommend!

I’ve been training here with Hien since January, and the results have been amazing. I’ve gained muscle, lost fat, and built a healthier lifestyle. Hien focuses on proper form and quality in every movement, and teaches in a way that’s easy to understand and follow. Each session is motivating, safe, and effective. I’ve been so happy with my progress that I even got my husband to start training here too! He trains with Jeff, and he’s been really impressed as well. This is important - I'm 66 yrs. old, still active (Mountain Biking, golf, hiking, etc.) but I am out of shape! I'm heavy for my frame size (belly fat is impossible to lose!) and I've lost muscle mass over the years. I've tried to work out on my own for decades, I've been a member of the YMCA, Fitness 19, and Planet Fitness, but I'm never consistent - NEVER.
Enter Jeff Gordon - finally I was introduced to Jeff and everything changed. Having a trainer who knows how to craft a workout plan for various age groups and fitness levels is crucial, Jeff is a master at that. I needed to start slowly, really slowly, and Jeff picked that up so that I did not get injured or discouraged. Yet, he is a very motivating and knowledgeable so I've made good gains.
His gym has everything necessary for getting back into shape, but above all Jeff is very creative a designing exercises that are tailored to my specific needs. He is mindful of my overall health and takes into account my nutrition, sleep patterns, and overall work and life activity. No other trainers I've encountered to that like Jeff.
I highly recommend Jeff to anyone who is tired of feeling tired and out of shape. If you're an athlete he can push to to new levels of performance, or if you like me, getting up there in years, and need guidance and motivation to improve your health and strength, Jeff is your guy!

Thank you to my amazing trainer Hein for helping me stay strong as I age gracefully! When I hit a milestone birthday, my doctor said, ‘you need to maintain your muscle mass,’ so Hein said, ‘Let’s lift heavy!’ And somehow, she has me doing things at her gym that I never did before…and actually enjoying it. I feel stronger, healthier, and slightly sore in the best way!

I have been training with Jeff for about (4) months and am extremely pleased with my results to date. Being recently retired I wanted to formulate a fitness plan that would allow me to continue being active well into my 70's & 80's. Jeff is pleasant, knowledgeable and always seems to know just what I need on any given workout day. I have already experienced a decrease in body fat, an increase in muscle mass and elevated energy levels. I highly recommend Jeff to anyone looking to start/continue a fitness program. I've had a fantastic experience at Intent. Owners Jeffrey and Hien have truly built an exceptional space! The training area is clean, spacious, and contains all the latest elite equipment any athlete could hope for. Coming from a Crossfit background, I didn't know what to expect with personalized training, as I was always accustomed to large class sizes. Jeffrey crafted my workout not just to my atheltic abilities, but also personalized it in order for me to tune up areas where I needed refinement. I left feeling exhilarated after my workout and will definitely come back to work with Intent!

I have worked out with Jeff as my trainer for over 8 years. In person, via zoom (during Covid) and again in person when he opened his own gym. He and his wife have been amazing - not only offering training advice, but also encouragement, nutrition advice, and offering other general health answers. Jeff always has a plan for each workout session and if an exercise is too challenging he always has a work-around solution. Jeff is the best trainer i have ever worked with and his sessions are fun, challenging, and productive. I give Jeff my highest recommendation!

When I started my training journey with Jeff, I was overweight, out of shape, I didn’t know what a portion size was, not to mention I couldn’t do a squat unassisted, and I didn’t like gyms, at all!
That all changed 15 years ago when Jeff became my coach / trainer, and I thank God for him every single day. I know that I could have never done this workout, health and fitness journey without him.
Our sessions are not just about the workout, but rather about looking forward to my next goal, the next challenge, educating me and looking forward to what the next session has in store for me. Jeff is that light when you complete a workout and you realize you’re healthier, happier, and the most fit that you’ve ever been in your life.

I love my personal trainer Hein, she is helping me work towards my workout goal. Her gym is clean with all the necessary equipment. They have an InBody testing machine that can measure your progress. I don’t always love to workout but I enjoy coming to Intent. Highly recommended!

I started working out with Hien around 7 months ago. I've never been the sporty type and grew up avoiding PE at school because I was never good at it. However, at some point last year, after experiencing terrible sleep and feeling low pretty consistently I thought I'd give exercise a try.
I knew that if I had just signed up at a gym, I'd feel pretty discouraged pretty quickly because I wouldn't know what to do. I got in touch with Hien and at our first meeting, it was pretty clear that she knew her stuff and that I would be in good hands. Hien is a treasure trove of knowledge with regards to fitness, health and nutrition. I have loved our sessions and have enjoyed learning from Hien. She makes our workouts fun and I have noticeably been getting stronger. She has turned this girl who hated PE into someone willing to walk in the rain to get to her training session, which is huge! I highly recommend her to anyone wanting to make a start on their health journey!

I sought out Hien and Intent Training Methods on the recommendation of a friend when I became pregnant with my son. As a previous Crossfitter, being active and maintaining good nutrition was an important part of my life and I wanted to work with someone who could help me navigate nutrition as well as continue to keep me active safely during my pregnancy (because I knew I wasn’t going to give up olympic lifting). Working with Hien during this transitionary part of my life has far exceeded my expectations. Not only did her well rounded programming help me maintain an adequate level of fitness, I actually got stronger during my pregnancy! Hien has a great eye for identifying your individual weaknesses/areas of improvement and programming the appropriate strength and accessory work to improve these areas. I had intended to go back to my previous coach postpartum however working with Hien was so amazing during my pregnancy, I decided to stick with her through my postpartum journey as well and I have not regretted it. As a mom herself, she understood the appropriate balance of fitness, nutrition and all the thing that came with being a new working mom. She struck a great balance of pushing me when necessary but also reminding me to be gentle with myself. I am now 16 months postpartum and with Hien’s great coaching, I can actually say I’m stronger and in better shape than I was pre-pregnancy. I have worked with several other coaches in the past and while they have all been great, I can say that Hien has been the most detailed and attentive coach that I have worked with. I’m still in disbelief at how much progress I’ve made working with her the last 2 years despite starting my journey with her pregnant. I highly recommend Hien and Intent Training Methods whether you’re pregnant, postpartum or just looking for someone to help you along your fitness or nutrition journey.

There are few things in life you can say are truly "life changing."
Birth of a child - definitely.
Quitting smoking - yes.
Encountering some sort of health crisis - perhaps.
Hiring a trainer to help you workout - I used to think of that as a silly idea. "I could go run on my own, or jump on the elliptical," I reasoned, "and I have my own free weights at home."
I thought I was healthy and in shape, until one day - without warning - I badly hurt my back.
I had no idea how it happened - I didn't lift anything heavy; I didn't overextend myself while exercising; I wasn't sitting too much.
I just woke up one morning, couldn't move, in excruciating pain. I still had to drive my kids to school - even though it was less than 10 minutes away, the drive made me tear up as the agony traveled from my lower back down my leg.
"It's your sciatic nerve," the doctor diagnosed when I finally hobbled over to see him. He prescribed 2 months of Physical Therapy.
I never wanted to experience that pain again, and that's when I looked into hiring a trainer.
I am lucky to have found Jeff Gordon.
He listened to me thoughtfully, asking lots of questions. We started slowly, and he made adjustments along the way. Our discussions went beyond fitness and exercises, to overall health: food and nutrition, sleep, stress and mental health.
I got better, my health improved. Gradually, I became more fit.
I've been seeing Jeff for 4+ years - even during the pandemic we continued, albeit via Zoom. We meet 2-3 times a week. He changes things up to keep it interesting, to continue to motivate me.
Mind you, it's hard work. There have been many days when I wanted to cancel, to make some excuse about staying up too late the night before, or my stomach hurting from too much morning coffee. At the end of the day, I'd rather stay home and binge watch Netflix and eat bon bons.
But then I remembered the sciatic pain, and the importance of staying healthy. I remembered that as we age, simply taking a walk around the neighborhood may not be enough. Real fitness is a lifelong battle against Father Time.
So I drag myself off the couch and begrudgingly put on my workout clothes.
Jeff is patient - he encourages me to keep working (out). And on days when I am truly drained, he tweaks things to keep me moving.
He is calm and knowledgeable, always there with a kind word and lending hand. Having Jeff as my trainer has proven to be a life changing experience, and I appreciate all that he's done for me.

I have been training for Jeff for over 10 years and hands down his is one of the most dedicated trainers I know. He’s always takes the time to see what his clients needs to improve on and at the same time taking in consideration on what their personal goal is. I've had the pleasure of training with Jeff for the past 5 years, and he constantly exceeds my expectations. I came in with no weight training experience and was just looking for a way to get a little stronger. Instead what I found was a whole new way to be intent about my fitness, health, and overall mindset in these areas. Jeff is a wealth of knowledge and has helped me achieve fitness goals that I never thought possible through understanding multiple ways to train up to achieve aspirational goals (I now can do a perfect pushup without issue and I'm on the cusp of being able to do my first pull-up). He's helped me not only train through two pregnancies where we focused on core and strength making labor and recovery easier, but has also helped me reach my huge goal of losing all of my post partum weight in less than a year of having my children. Jeff is incredible when it comes to helping me perfect my form and remain injury through through all of our weight lifting. I'm constantly hitting PRs and feel extremely supported through my journey. Jeff makes working out fun and I look forward to each and every workout with him.

I went to Jeff many years ago with back issues - I'm sure a common complaint in Silicon Valley.
Without any doubt, Jeff is the best personal trainer I've had the pleasure to work with. He really listens to my needs and goals, each training session is customized and not just a series of repeats of previous exercises. Jeff acts as a partner as well as coach and you feel that the goals are shared objectives and not something that I have to shoulder on my own. He's very professional and really knows his stuff but, on top of all that, he's a fun person to hang out with and know when to lighten the load (so the speak) with a few well chosen comments or jokes.

My wife and I have been training with Jeff for more than 5 years. He is a super knowledgable, attentive, and effective trainer. He's helped us achieve a diverse range of fitness goals, and has become and indispensable part of our overall personal approach to wellness.
Some specific examples of where Jeff has been particularly awesome:
- When I started working with Jeff, I came to him with a SLAP tear in my shoulder from a prior weightlifting injury. He helped me prep for and recover from surgery, and that shoulder is back to full function.
- More recently, I've achieved a really well-rounded level of strength and fitness that let me focus on having adventures and being a fun dad.
- Jeff helped my wife prep for and recovery from not one but two pregnancies! She's now the strongest she has ever been.
Overall we both have always felt encouraged, supported, and like we are progressing. He keeps workouts interesting and tailored to what we need based on our current goals and what's going on in life. And working with Jeff is just really fun!

I first went to see Jeff Gordon at Intent Training Methods after receiving four sessions as a gift from my son-in-law, who has been training with Jeff for years. At the time, I had weak back muscles making it difficult to walk long distances or to stand up straight. In those first four sessions, I quickly moved from a mentality of "Sure, I'll give this trainer a try" to "That was fantastic, when can I come again?" I have now been a weekly client of Jeff's for more than 6 months! Jeff is a pleasure to work with and is always very encouraging. He uses positive reinforcement and often reminds me of the progress I have made since beginning my training. His workout plans are created specifically for each of his clients' needs. When I have questions about any of my exercises, he takes the time to explain how a particular exercise is a benefit to my recovery which I very much appreciate. I have worked with trainers in much larger gyms in this area and have often felt they were more interested in attracting new customers than in servicing the ones they already had. Working with Jeff is different. I feel like he truly WANTS me to succeed and wants my back to get stronger...and as a result, it makes me want to try even harder in my sessions with him! I have benefitted tremendously from his professional coaching. As one of Jeff's older clients, I feel that if he can strengthen my back, then he can help anyone!

I can't say enough about how much I love working out at Intent with Jeff as my trainer. I came to see Jeff when I felt at my lowest, and I knew instantly that I was in the right place at our initial consultation. He took the time to sit with me and discuss my motivation, my habits, my concerns, and my intention to train. Jeff has been amazing, we finished 20 sessions together and every day I come to train I feel happy, happy that I am taking another step towards health and wellness. He has changed my entire perspective and has helped me grow and find confidence in myself again, he has changed my life. I always tell Jeff how much I enjoy our sessions because I like him to know the impact he has had on me. He has been nothing but encouraging and positive with me. I love that he tracks every detail of each workout and challenges me to get stronger and stronger, even when I think I can't.. there he is telling me "You are strong, you got this." I have been working with Hien Gorden from Intent Training Method since the end of my pregnancy and early postpartum. Hien has not only helped me to get back to my former athletic self but also was vital for my mental wellbeing through my motherhood transition. Her holistic approach of physical fitness and mental wellbeing accelerated my capabilities in and outside of the gym. After 2 years now I am lifting heavier, am more balanced in all my lifts and accelerate at CrossFit style conditioning. I not only feel but also look good.

I’ve been working with Hien for a little over 2 years now since I had my son. I started working with her post-partum to safely get back into shape and I wish I had found her sooner! Not only did she help me get into better shape than I was pre-baby, but she also helped me with my nutrition so I was able to keep up my milk supply while breastfeeding.
Now that I am pregnant with baby #2 I am so happy to have Hien by my side. She is so knowledgeable about pre/post natal and fitness in general that I will be continuing her programming even after I am done having kids. Hien’s workouts are well rounded between strength and conditioning and are super tailored to YOUR skillset/abilities. I have worked with several trainers and she is the best because she keeps you on your toes and tracks your progress. It’s also a plus that she actually cares about you as a human being :).
Hien has trained me both in person and remotely - - I’d highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a skilled coach to guide them through their fitness journey.
