I’ve worked with all the trainers at J Bodyworks, they’ve all been incredible. Very smart, excellent at what they do, and bring a level of understanding and insight above and beyond what I’ve gotten elsewhere. Can’t recommend them enough!

I’ve been working with Julian over the past few months and it’s been amazing!

After an injury in the past, I felt I had lost all my mobility and dealt with chronic foot pain. I had honestly thought I was a lost cause but decided to give the gym a try after a referral from a friend. After working with Julian for a few weeks, I had amazing results! I could do higher intensity workouts for longer durations and not deal with any of my previous problems. His approach is scientific and his observation skills are top notch. He understands what your body needs and knows how to remediate it. He is a pleasure to work with and I used to look forward to our sessions eagerly. I really can’t thank Julian and J Bodyworks enough for helping me and making even my everyday life so much easier!

After 6 months of not being able to swim or sleep through the night due to a shoulder injury I incurred while surfing, a friend recommended Jbodyworks. I worked with Corey. He was attentive and listened to my issues. He assessed my body posture, gait, strength, and flexibility and established specific metrics that we could use to gauge my progression week over week. He identified habits and compensations I had developed over the years that likely contributed to my initial injury. He developed routines for my specific issues and continued to tailor them based on how I progressed each week. I am thrilled and shocked that after about 6 sessions with Corey I was no longer experiencing shoulder pain at night and was able to surf again. Moreover, he helped me develop different techniques to avoid a future shoulder injury. I highly recommend him.

I’ve been working with Corey at J Bodyworks for the last few months. He is absolutely incredible. I have hypermobility issues and it’s been a struggle to find practitioners who are knowledgeable and able to take a preventative systems approach. In the past, working with physical therapists, I worked on one physical issue at a time, with little focus on prevention. With Corey, I’ve gotten to the root of many of the issues and created a plan that has helped bring pain relief and increased functioning to many aspects of my life. Corey brings a great sense of humor and immense attention to detail in the process. He is also incredibly responsive when it comes to feedback around things that do and don’t work for me. He is very good at thinking creatively and flexibly. We often easily transition to or away from exercises based on how I’m feeling that day or if a specific problem shows up in the course of our session. Basically, he’s phenomenal at meeting you where you’re at without judgement. I’ve been so grateful to be able to work with him and highly recommend him if you’ve been experiencing chronic pain, are in the process of rehabilitation and looking to become more active, or if you just want an amazingly supportive person cheering you on as you build strength.

I worked with Fiona for about six months in preparation for my wedding. She pushed me hard and I was able to achieve many of the goals I had set. The only hiccups were occasional scheduling conflicts but the entire team is flexible and I worked with Laura a few times when she stepped in for Fiona. Overall a great experience, and many of my friends also workout here as well.

Almost 10 months in and the results speak for themselves. I always wanted a trainer that approaches my training scientifically. Enter Julian! An extremely thoughtful, knowledgable and FUNNY trainer I've ever met. When I joined I had severe lateral and anterior pelvic tilt. Julian and I kept figuring out what works for my body together. He explains his approach, so this process is very transparent. We've explored all the avenues from the vestibular system exercises, nerve glides, different openers to functional training of muscles that need to engage. Before I joined J bodyworks I didn't know how to read my body well, Julian has taught me that thanks to a very intuitive language he uses ("feel that zing?").

Speaking of reading my body, Audra has helped me in this department too. She's a bodyworks therapist at J Bodyworks. Audra is a very kind person with a very positive energy and aura. She uses Hendrickson technique which is a therapy for optimum function, rather than just symptomatic relief. Have you ever seen any massage therapist get into your psoas? I've had many deep tissue massages in my life, but her technique is effective and unique. My personal favorite is her neck massage. Her work with SCM is unique too.

If you have a trainer and bodyworks therapist, they work together and that's really powerful. Apart from all the science stuff, this gym is full of amazing people and filled with good energy. I've briefly worked with KJ when Julian was outta town and that was a great experience. So there are always other trainers who fill in for your trainer in case they aren't available to make sure you stay on track. Jae, Laura, Corey are all great! Love this gym a lot!

I've been going to J Bodyworks for the last 9 months, and it was one of the best decisions I've made in my life. I had almost no prior experience in resistance training and had a hard time finding a place that worked for me. At J Bodyworks, I started with private training sessions with Corey and then was transitioned to semi-private sessions, first with Corey and then with Fiona. They both are phenomenal people and extremely knowledgeable about what they do. We are working on my form and the overall strength, and I see a lot of progress almost every week. J Bodyworks is absolutely the best, and I can't say enough good words about this place. Whether you are a beginner like me or want to get to the next level of resistance training, I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed.

The purpose of this review is to say that Audra is an amazing person who delivers an amazing sports massage. Separate review coming up soon for Corey, Fiona, and Julian.

If you are strength training, and are experiencing soreness, tightness, or muscular discomfort of any kind, please do yourself a favor and reach out to her. You will not find better.

More details and context follow for anyone who might find themselves in the same place I did a year + ago when I started working with Audra.

I hurt myself in a snowboarding accident on Christmas 2014. I didn’t realize that my rightmost lower floating rib had come a little loose, and x-ray convinced me it wasn’t broken, so I was to walk it off, and believed them.

Grad school and then starting work took up most of my time 2015-2017. At first I thought that being sedentary or getting old or both were causing the stiffness. By early 2018 I was barely crawling along and didn’t know where to start seeking help.

In late 2020, I found a chiropractor who wrung my musculoskeletal system out and lined me back up, but that kept falling apart.

Chiropractor referred me to Corey from J Bodyworks, who helped me start building my strength back up.

As my strength came back, the pain I lived with for so long started to recede, but I started experiencing a new type of pain: the type you experience when you’re strength training for the first time, and trying to build yourself back up.

And that’s when Corey referred me to Audra. I don’t know where I would be now without her help. I never thought that strength training would lead to the kinds of muscle tension that required a sports massage, and wouldn’t have known what to do other than live with the pain and continue to believe that the damage was permanent.

Worth mentioning. The only reason I’m even writing this review is because Audra helped me recover to the point that sitting at a computer isn’t torture anymore 😊 if it didn’t work, I wouldn’t be able to write this review 🙃

To summarize: if you are strength training, and are experiencing soreness, tightness, or muscular discomfort of any kind, please do yourself a favor and reach out to Audra. You will walk away moving and feeling a LOT BETTER.

This is a review for my amazing coach, Fiona. I was not keen to work out but needed it for my health. I had also had two muscle tears that made it difficult. Then I met Fiona. From the first day I met her, Fiona was not only encouraging and friendly, but also knowledgeable and empathetic. Fiona understands when modifications are needed, is super attentive to detail and will not only help and support you during a workout, but will also provide the client with information that will be helpful for wellness in every day life. Most importantly, I have learned that it is possible to work out, recover from injuries and feel much better than before while still having fun and looking forward to your next workout! I would recommend Fiona to all my friends. Thank you Fiona!

I love this place! I started a few months ago with a plan to just do a few sessions and get myself going again. I’ve stayed and am doing one or two sessions a week with Fiona. We clicked immediately and work great together. She’s made the planning very easy and deals with my annoying schedule. She has gotten me from not being able to do squats at all (due to a knee issue) to working on all the other nearby areas and being able to squat again. I’m definitely building up strength and mobility and loving it. I’ve also worked with other staff on some different body stuff. I highly recommend it and have told my friends about it. Also there’s some one hour parking nearby that’s easy!! Love it and will keep coming back!!

This gym is bright, airy, and equipped to the nines, but the best feature of this gym is the personnel. I've been lucky enough to work with two extraordinary professionals at J Bodyworks, and cannot say enough in praise of them both. Audra Davis is an intuitive, meticulous bodyworker who has been able to discover and remediate sources of pain and immobility. She listens carefully, and then, through exploration and insight, develops a pathway that invariably leads to greater range of motion and physical ease. She's wonderful. And Corey Padnos is a remarkable trainer. He has worked with several members of my family, all with widely varying goals and challenges. Corey brings considerable expertise and years of experience to bear on a wide range of issues and goals. He has an uncanny ability to assess the impact of an exercise and then make modification after modification on the spot to maximize its effectiveness. He's been a life-changing partner in my family's fitness goals.

I had body work done by Audra and it was seriously the best body work I’ve ever had done in my entire life. She was able to reach and work on areas I always hope will get supported whenever I book a massage but I’m always disappointed afterwards that it wasn’t what I needed- I didn’t even know what it was or what I did need until I met Audra! Magic hands!!! Thanks Jae & Audra for such a great experience!!

Had a great bodywork session with Audra for my right shoulder, which had not been responding much to other things I've tried. This gym is very special and has a strong cohesive team of trainers and therapists who work together to get the client to where they need to be! Audra's aim is to get you back to a place where you can continue to push towards your fitness goals without re-injury, etc. She is confident, experienced, attentive and is easy to trust, even for a pain wimp like myself. (I wouldn't let just anyone dig into my ribs!) I appreciate the attention to functional health and neurology-based rehabilitation and training that they take at J Bodyworks. Thank you Jae for building this team and space!

I am incredibly grateful to the team at J Bodyworks, especially Corey Padnos, for transforming my life with their rehabilitation expertise. This gym's focus on chronic pain has been a game-changer for my long-standing shoulder, neck, and back issues.

After trying various treatments with temporary relief (acupuncture, chiropractor, physical therapy), I found hope at J Bodyworks. Corey, my knowledgeable and personable trainer, quickly identified the areas to work on. With his expertise in anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics, he designed a tailored program that gradually built my strength.

Corey's dedication is unmatched. He constantly adjusts my program, monitors my progress, and gives clear instructions for optimal results. He's not only funny but also instills great disciplines and encourages a pain-free life.

I want to thank Corey and the entire J Bodyworks team for their support and even allowing my dog to stay there during training. My experience at J Bodyworks has been life-changing, and I highly recommend their effective rehabilitation program for anyone dealing with chronic pain.

I've been going here for a few years now. I started in the pandemic virtually and now go in person. I've used a range of their services from a range of trainers and massage therapists, all are excellent.

All J Bodyworks trainers I've used are universally excellent in their knowledge and approach to the body, whether my goals were fitness, body composition, or injury recovery (often multiple at same time). They are pragmatic in approach, motivating in both their words and belief in what I can actually do (vs. what I can do), and encyclopedic in body mechanics AND how to translate that knowledge into instruction and training.

The gym itself is spacious, clean, technologically advanced, and a place I look forward to going. It is extremely welcoming and they are committed to inclusion of all bodies.

Special shout out to Julian, whom I've been working with for the past two years. Julian is an amazing coach, I am constantly amazed at how instantaneously he can put together a comprehensive program on the spot based on whatever focus or issue I might be having that day or week. Perhaps greatest of all, Julian has helped me see myself as an athlete, even if I'm not targeting a specific sport. Highly recommend him, Corey, Jae, and any other coach you may have the opportunity to work with.

After years of chronic back pain, physical therapy, massage, chiropractors and NSAIDS, I booked an appointment with J. One of my friend was bragging about her treatment with J and Luke and She got me enrolled. I booked an appointment and it all came down to this sentence: I did my body a favor! J definitely knows his job. He knows anatomy of nerves and muscles so well, that he can exactly trigger the right muscle to get the blood flowing or lubricate the joint. I highly recommend him for any sport/work related injury. Do your body a favor and book an appointment with him. Being a dentist and dealing with pain for many years, I had all sort of different treatments but I can say not everyone spends enough time to really explore your weak spots and knows how to manipulate those muscles so they would start working. I said a lot but I feel I didn't say enough. Thank you J!

I feel lucky to have been referred to J Bodyworks. I'm currently 26 years old and have been dealing with severe chronic pain issues for the past 7+ years. To date, I have worked with over 10 different physical therapists and J Bodyworks has been, by FAR, the best. Everything is completely personalized and I am so grateful and happy to reflect on the progress I have made.

I've personally worked with Jae, but have also worked with Corey & Anthony as well. I highly recommend the whole team.

Thank you J Bodyworks!!

As a trainer, Euridice Cuesta will forever have a lasting impact on my approach to exercise and personal trainers. I was very reluctant to get into a program with a personal trainer because I always felt the cost outweigh the benefits. I was a self-trainer and objected every time the subject came up. Then came Covid19 and I could not go to the gym. I was cooking and baking more and more, and the weight crept on. My blood sugar level skyrocketed and my daughter grew genuinely concerned. She signed me up for online personal training with Eury and I said, “yes I will try it out for one month”. Well, I am into my third month and the weight is coming off, my blood sugar level is under control and I am feeling great again. My minor aches and pains were the first thing she address. Eury then focused on strengthening my core and low impact exercises, now I am being challenged more and more. My body does not feel like a 64-year-old nor does it look like it. I know now that I could not do it without you. I look forward to my training each session. Thank you Eury!

I'm incredibly grateful to J Bodyworks for continuing to offer outstanding services during Covid-19. Through Zoom sessions, ANTHONY has helped me with calming breathing exercises and has taught me basic daily movements to ensure I am continuing to stay active while working at home. Most notably, I experienced a shoulder tweak from a home painting project, and one session was all I needed to work through the pain and practice preventative measures. The educational component J Bodyworks offers is top notch and engaging. I highly recommended seeking a trainer here if you are experiencing any discomfort during these times!

I've trained with 4-5 trainers over the years and Anthony C. is on some next level stuff. Seriously, I think most trainers focus on frying your muscles by utilizing heavy weights or so many reps where they loose track of counting... this is not what's happening at J Bodywork. They are focused on improving coordination and preventing future injuries by utilzing neurology in their workouts. If you been injuried or want to train smarter this is the place for you. I am certain it will be a different and better experience than you've had at other personal training gyms.

Euridice was AMAZING. During her strength class, she helped me fix my posture, and she took the time to review the basics. She introduced fun workouts that I have never done before, like arm wrestling while planking! During her mobility class, she helped me really open up my hips. This class alone improved my mile by 30 seconds, and I’m pretty flexible as is! I would recommend her classes to anyone who is looking to improve their strength, mobility and posture.

I love JBodyworks, and while all the trainers are most likely amazing, I've had the privilege of working with Corey, so this review is for him. Corey is awesome! He has such an in-depth knowledge about the body and functional health, combined with amazing creativity around the variable ways his clients can reach their goals. More than anything, he is especially skilled at listening: he gets the full picture of where you’re starting, what you’re out to accomplish, and makes every effort to come up with a prescriptive, tailored approach just for you. If I describe something I’m having difficulty with, or discomfort somewhere in my body, he often blows my mind with the simplest of movements that unlock leaps in progress I couldn’t have imagined possible in one short session.

Whether you're doing a group class, private or semi-private session, you couldn't be in better hands. The staff at J Bodyworks are knowledgeable, empathic, and provide an individualistic approach to functional training for each person, because every body is different. I've been going to J Body works for 5 years, and am so pleased with my results. Going consistently helps me build strength and manage my injuries. After a serious spine surgery I've been prone to injuries and back spasms and I never thought I'd be able to lift heavy weights, or gain the strength I have. I am so grateful for the careful instruction of the coaches here. I have been working with Anthony for the last 2 years, and would highly recommend anyone who wants to build strength, improve mobility, manage injuries and learn resources for muscle rehab and to improve neural processes, go visit him.

J Bodyworks is an amazing facility with outstanding coaches. Throughout my time training with Corey for a national championship, I learned more about my body than ever before. Corey worked closely with me multiple times a week to help fix chronic pain in my lower back and shoulders before competing. Throughout our training, Corey was always a text or phone call away and was more than willing to hear my concerns and work me through them. I highly recommend working with Corey for anything from pain relief to general conditioning to high performance strengthening. Corey is truly a master at what he does and makes sure my body is feeling the absolute best whenever I compete. He takes the stress and guessing out of recovery and his training plans and exercises are easy to follow everyday.

I had the pleasure of being a part of Nan's 12-week Total Body Transformation (TBT) class. The class consists of two 1-hour sessions a week, with at least 1 cardio session on your own time per week. I lost a whole body percentage of fat, which I thought took working out twice a day, 5 days/week (basically, I thought it was impossible for me). I always looked forward to TBT with Nan, and I'm going to miss going to JBodyworks twice a week. Nan was the best trainer I'ver ever had and helped me rehab an ankle sprain that I got mid-way through the class (injury not due to the class). I feel much stronger than I was and see the results while I'm climbing and cycling. She has a really great way of helping you work through both the physical and mental aspects of injury. Would highly recommend working with Nan, she's the best!

I’ve been working with Jae for 10 years and I can’t say enough good things about him and his team. I started seeing Jae for chronic tension headaches. After 6 months of bodywork (Hendrickson Method), my tension headaches were gone and they haven’t returned in a decade 🙌🏼 I had tried traditional massage, muscle relaxers, etc and nothing had worked prior to working with Jae. Jae also saw me through 2 pregnancies over a 4 year time period. Pregnancy is tough on your body and my monthly sessions with Jae were key to getting me through both. If you have any chronic pain or pain from a past injury or just need a human foam roller - book a session with Jae! You won’t regret it!

I’ve been lucky enough to be trained by Nan Luma for about 3 months now, and I have to say that - after years of training with other trainers, taking every bootcamp/group class there is, and joining a variety of other gyms - I have never felt stronger, mind, body, and spirit! She pays attention to your every move, listens to your every word, and feels your every vibe creating a perfectly tailored, perfectly integrated workout to suite your needs physically, mentally, and emotionally. Her workouts are as fun as they are demanding, which always makes it easy to show up and give it your all, (hello results!) Although she is in high demand she always does her best to accommodate your busy schedule, but will NEVER let you forget the commitment you’ve made not only to yourself but to your BEST self. Seriously, if you’re looking for a change, if you’re feeling like you’re ready to make a real investment in your future I promise you Nan Luma is the woman you’re looking for!

J Bodyworks is unlike any other gym I've seen and the trainers there are on a whole different level.

They showed me an entirely new way to improve my health and performance. The science and constant study behind their work simply sets them apart. Anthony Chiechi is constantly teaching me new things and every class I take there simultaneously humbles me to how much I have to learn and helps me improve as I simply can't on my own.

When I was younger I was fairly athletic and it was relatively easy to get into shape, which of course I
took for granted. After 10 years of working desk jobs and totally ignoring what was happening to my posture, weight, and strength, I decided I didn’t want to continue down that path anymore. I also knew it would be a huge challenge for me to switch-up my habits and routine.

I tried a few of the popular bootcamps and expensive gyms, but I always created excuses not to go, and wasted a lot of money along the way.

All of that changed when I started doing 1-1 sessions with Nan at J Bodyworks almost a year ago. I had a positive feeling regarding the gym's philosophy from their website, but I really got hooked after my first introductory session.

I felt ‘heard’ when we discussed my fitness goals, and she very astutely assessed my physical state, performing a series of strength tests I had previously only seen in a physical therapists’ office. In just one session, I felt she really understood my body and had figured out a strategy to get me to where I wanted to be. I expected a personal trainer to be knowledgeable about human physiology and muscle dynamics but what really impressed me was how she also integrated psychology and neurology in her approach to fitness. I feel like I learn something new about myself every session!

Although I know I’m at the point where I can work-out on my own without a trainer, I continue to do sessions with Nan because every workout is fun, unique, and most importantly, tailored to me, no matter what kind of state my body is in.
