Attending predominantly hot pilates classes with a few yoga sessions sprinkled in. I was in decent shape when I started toward the back end of May ‘24 when running was main exercise in recent years up to that point. Fast forward 17 months and 378 classes later, went from 190lbs on May16 to 177lbs on Oct11. First 3 months was the initial drop of about 10lbs, then came a plateau for about 9 months and another 3lbs shed over last 3 months. Haven’t lost much muscle mass which is good as body fat % decreased. I love the heated & humid classes, feels like I’m doing good things for my health & fitness, less dry and cracked skin on my hands is an added plus. The instructors are great, each with their own style and routines. Never thought I’d be consistent with fitness studio/classes as I’ve always enjoyed outdoor activity and lifting at the gym more. Other studio classes and sessions I’ve attended never stuck, I think that speaks to how awesome J8 is!

J8 is an awesome studio! They have a great schedule with classes throughout the day. The teachers are excellent! The owner is very friendly and you can tell she cares a lot about her clients. My favorite teacher for Bikram is Cary. Love her pace and her cues. My favorite for Pilates is Akiko. Her classes are intense and she’s not going to let you slack. I think I’ve almost died every time I’ve taken her classes and I love it. Awesome studio! Definitely recommend. They’re also on ClassPass is you’re traveling through the area.

I went to my first pilates class at J8 Pilates & Yoga with Sam and had an amazing morning workout. She had a full house of people that were all putting in work for the full hour, including her! She kept us going and the next thing you know, the hour is over. We were all given a cool cucumber towel to place on our eyes at the end, which was everything after dripping sweat for an hour- best addition for the cool down!

At the end of the workout, she was very intentional about sharing a quote "your mindset is either your anchor or your sail when the storm passes" which was a nice reminder to not listen to the negative self talk- because the "body listens". Great energy, will be back.

Conveniently located in a strip mall right off Hwy 101, the studio is incredibly easy to get to — whether you’re heading there before work, after errands, or squeezing in a weekend sweat. There’s ample parking, and the location is perfect for getting things done before or after class with nearby supermarkets, pharmacies, coffee shops, and restaurants just steps away.
The studio itself is gorgeous — bright, airy, and impeccably clean. There's a calming energy the moment you walk in, thanks to the stylish decor and the abundance of natural light. It truly feels like a sanctuary. The space is stocked with everything you need: premium yoga mats, dumbbells, knee cushions, resistance bands — all top quality. The heating system is also next-level, providing the ideal environment for a safe, challenging, and deeply satisfying workout.
One of the best parts? The little luxuries that make every visit feel special. After class, you’re handed an ice-cold cucumber-infused towel, which feels like a moment of spa-like bliss. There’s also a thoughtfully curated retail area offering beverages, electrolytes, activewear, and even some fun gift items.
The amenities are top-notch, with spacious locker rooms and showers fully stocked with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner — a huge plus if you're heading to work or out afterward.

You need to try Sam Yoga!!! I live in SF but I drive 30 mins each way every day just to go to J8. I pulled a leg muscle and sprained my ankle badly a year ago, so I had given up on most exercises before I tried yoga. Got a class pass, tried a bunch of mediocre studios in SF…eventually found J8. Its been 4 months here and it’s my routine now and something I look forward to every day after work. Oh…It gets hot and ridiculously humid in there! But every day I walk out feeling like whewww I escaped the oven, then I’m back the next day for more lol…My core and triceps are stronger than ever and you’ll love the “torture,” and ofc Sam’s unbeatable sense of humor…

Top tier studio! The staff and vibes are amazing. There are two different studios on the same block so make sure you know where your class is. The studio itself is cleaned very well! FYI it’s bring your own mat and mat towel. I mostly only go to their hot Pilates classes- I’d say they can trend more to being more like HIIT classes. But love them and they’re really helping me get back in my fitness journey

Parking is super easy. Overall, definitely recommend this studio!

I wanted to take my time before writing this review because I like to experience a place a few times before sharing my thoughts. After taking 7-8 classes at J8 Hot Pilates & Hot Yoga, I feel confident sharing my experience.

The studio offers a variety of classes, though I've personally only taken Pilates and yoga so far. What stands out most is Sam's incredible energy and sense of humor--she brings such a positive and uplifting vibe to every class. Her music playlists are also thoughtfully curated and always set the right mood.

What I love most is the sense of community Sam has cultivated. It's clear she's spent years building a strong foundation. Many of her clients have followed her from previous studios, which speaks volumes about her reputation and the impact she has on people. Everyone I've spoken with at the studio has had nothing but amazing things to say about her.

Without a doubt, this is the best Pilates studio in the Bay Area.

For all the hot yoga and pilates fans out there, J8 is a true gem! It's a spa plus workout. There's every flavor of teachers, so that means I've improved in my hot 26 practice. The cool cucumber towel is def a cherry on top. Also the studio is always so clean and equipped with wipe towels. And of course, i love the community aspect. Everyone is so friendly and then there's the little shop of apparel, goodies, and soaks. For all the hot bikram yogis, or want a good workout, this is the place to put on your weekly docket. Sam the owner is also the most attentive, calm, and keen sense business woman! She truly has a passion for the studio and her clients. Well worth a try and they are expanded into a 2nd studio for more classes!! Parking is so easy.

I have been attending the studio for almost two weeks, which has made such a difference in my body and mind. You sweat and strengthen your body; the bonus is the rush of endorphins because you feel relaxed and grounded with the heat. I highly recommend the studio, as everyone seems super nice and super knowledgeable. And, after each class, you get a bonus ( I won't spoil it). It's a body and mind studio! you don't have to choose. It's part of the package, and it feels good each time you come.

JB Hot Pilates and Yoga is a gem! The energy in this studio is unmatched, and a big part of that is thanks to Sam, the incredible owner. Sam’s passion for fitness and wellness radiates through everything she does. She’s not only knowledgeable but also so friendly and approachable, making everyone feel like they belong.

My favorite class by far is the Delightful Class. I love super relaxed every time I hon The music in the classes is upbeat and fun, or relaxing and peaceful depending on the workout which is nice.

Sam and her team have created a space that feels like a community and I highly recommend it!

This studio is AMAZING. Each teacher offers something unique to their class, and there are a variety of workouts to choose from. Originally I came for yoga, but I’ve been also converted to pilates too (which incorporate weights - super important for womens health!) Kevin, Sandy and Cary are my go-tos for yoga and have a beautiful way of teaching. Sam is absolutely the bomb, plays awesome music, and makes you feel like you can do anything you put your mind to! Ps. They are AFFORDABLE AND FUN.

After nearly a year of attending multiple classes per week with many of the instructors, I have only positive things to say. I found myself wanting to return to the studio daily.
The format of the classes, the energy of the instructors, the sense of community, and the convenient logistics all contribute to creating a virtuous cycle for fitness.

Here are some specific observations:
1. Each instructor brings a unique perspective, and in my experience, they complement each other remarkably well.
2. For Pilates: I've had the opportunity to attend several classes with Samara and Akiko. They run sessions that are accessible for newcomers yet challenging for more experienced participants. Their sequencing, modifications, and ability to read and manage the group's energy make them exceptional instructors.
3. For Yoga: The classes I took followed the Bikram sequence, which is fairly consistent. However, each instructor has their own distinctive style, so you're bound to find one who feels just right for you.
4. Logistics: The studio setup is highly convenient, from parking to restrooms, changing rooms, and lockers. With a wide variety of classes at all hours, finding a convenient session is rarely an issue. The only reason not to attend would be if you simply didn't feel like it--not because of availability or scheduling.
5. The community is outstanding. Both the owners, Samara and Sandy, and fellow students are incredibly supportive and always ready to lend a hand.
6. Pricing is also very reasonable, and the cold towels at the end of classes are a fan favorite!

At one point, I sustained an injury (unrelated to ELC). When I spoke with Sam and Sandy, they encouraged me to come in if I felt up to it, which I did. For several weeks, Sam personally assisted me with weights, mats, and towels (I couldn't carry anything myself), while other students helped with my crutches and kept me connected to my practice. I am deeply grateful--and perhaps a bit biased!

I took my first hot Pilates class, and it was an incredible experience! The heat added an extra challenge, but it made the workout feel even more rewarding. Sam, our instructor, was absolutely fantastic. Not only was she energetic and motivating, but she also had a way of pushing us to our limits while still making it fun. Her encouragement throughout the class kept me going, even when I felt like giving up. I left feeling both accomplished and rejuvenated. If you're thinking about trying hot Pilates, I highly recommend it and be sure to book a class with Sam!

Every time I come here, whoever is at the front desk or the instructor is always very warm and welcoming. I started to get out of shape during the pandemic and even acquired covid induced asthma as a result of it. This has been really hard for me, but my mind is still set on doing the best I can in hopes of improvement. Samara's classes are difficult and she really challenges you to push yourself to the limit. I had a hard time even though my mind wanted to push more than my body could handle. Samara is so thoughtful and put on a humidifier in the back of the class to make it work for me. Even though its hard for me, I still enjoy the class so much and want to improve. Even all the students in the class are so friendly and positive and this is definitely a result of the good energy they cultivate in this studio.

Never thought I would be doing pilates but after just one of Samara’s classes I’ve been hooked! I realized that the pain I was feeling during her class was letting me know that there was a deficiency in my core & glute muscles. She exudes positivity and motives me to embrace the pain and get stronger. I’m in the recovery phase after a severely hearted disc and I’m already feeling the improvement after only about a month and a half. Easy five stars for an outstanding instructor in a clean, positive, happy studio!
