$15 for a day pass at the YMCA is just unacceptable. How much money does Joe and Marie need to profit off of this racket?
Obviously, they donβt want a majority of the community to be able to afford this place

Okay but VERY small the one in Encinitas is so much nicer and find the people and staff more friendly. I just go for the EGym . Will say they have a very active program for older adults.

Such a wonderful, beautiful facility, but so few classes and not open 7 days a week, like most ymca's.Many folks have time to work out on a Sunday, and losing that opportunity to work out on that day is huge. America's health crisis can be helped enormously by having opportunities to access gyms like this one on the entire weekend. I know many potential members who say they would join,if only this YMCA offered more classes and was open all weekend. The very limited hours and classes have not changed for at least a few years- I hope this will change, as it would have a very positive, life changing affect on the health of the community who could access it.

My one year old granddaughter is taking the two week swimming lessons. I can't believe how much she is learning and I'm so much more comfortable with her in the water. I'm definitely going to bring her back next year.

I am so thankful to have a YMCA in our community and this YMCA in particular has been such a pleasure with with. Since moving here two years ago we have regularly utilized the Y for fitness, day camps and summer camps and I couldnβt be happier. Every member of staff had been so friendly and helpful, my kid absolutely loves the camps here and the awesome camp director, Gage.
Letβs not our YMCAβs for granted and go support your local Y!

I was visiting this Y as I was traveling on business. (My home YMCA is in upstate NY).
Taria and Halley at the front desk were very welcoming and helpful. The outdoor pool is fantastic. It was not crowded at midday. I was able to swim 1.2 miles alone in a lane. The lifeguards are very attentive and welcoming. The menβs locker room is in very good condition. I highly recommend this YMCA.

I recently came to give the place a look, I could tell off the bat that the people are really nice, staff might need better training on operating their systems but theyβre great people nonetheless . I came to check it out because I heard their gym was recently renovated, it was, but sadly it seems most of the budget went into the cardio machines. The cardio machines are great and look fantastic but sadly only that half of the room looks new. The free weights and machines are old, the plates are rusted and leave rust on the sleeves of plate loaded machines, the leg machines have rust on them. Itβs a great setup/layout and if the equipment wasnβt so outdated it would be the perfect gym to set you up for success. If they were to maybe get something like a Prime Fitness - Plate Loaded Leg Ext/Leg Curl Combo , that alone would replace 3 pieces of their old equipment, maybe get new plates and machines that arenβt rusted or squeaking all the time and theyβd be golden, even better maintenance on them would go a long way. Iβd return in a heartbeat but sadly for now itβs catered much more towards the senior/family crowd than it is towards us young adults(20βs).

We just left this YMCA after arriving for the 2:30 gymnastics class to find that you combined the class with the 3:30 class. Unfortunately I wasn't made aware. The only email received was that clearly confirming the class.
It is very unfortunate, as you can imagine, with a toddler to try to make the time to get to a class and find that it was unprofessionally handled.
This experience was my first with this facility and may simply be my last.
I won't be able to recommend this facility positively whatsoever.
It is a huge disappointment that I could have gone to another that would be more organized especially since I registered at the beginning of November but alas now have no choices left as all classes have started already elsewhere for December.
Poorly handled program and disappointing facility.

This is honestly the best place to work out and have your kids be monitored. I am a former preschool teacher and I was happy to see that employees their are perfectly trained. I did few hours of volunteering for the community and I'm happy to see how organized everything is. The employees welcomed me with open arms and the kids are just amazing little busy bodies that had your time go by fast. Gage Daniel Sports & Volunteer Coordinator is honestly most helpful and down to earth, he made sure all my tasks were done. I recommend working here full time if your interested and I also recommend if you want to work out and leave your kids here your in great hands.

Imagine this- you're 5 minutes into what should be a refreshing yoga class but the loud speaker sounds with "'Tape' to classroom 1!" Every time I try to do a class at some point I'm called to change a diaper. I get it- I have kids- they poop... but why not get extra help to change diapers so that people can actually use the services people provide. There are signs all over not to enter the classes late, so if we leave, we can't come back in without causing a huge disruption. So... I go with it and change the kids' diapers, but then... because I missed 10 min of the class already waiting for other people to get their kids (can't have more than one family dropping off or picking up in the room at the same time), I try to be flexible and connect to wifi to do yoga in a room by myself while still utilizing the child care... except... the WIFI doesn't work! Even the staff is frustrated at the shotty- connect, disconnect, connect, disconnect wifi. Not only this, but the kiddie pool closes too soon in the year, but stays open for parties. Even if the party goers aren't using the pool actively, no one can use it. Overall it would be great if staff could change diapers so parents of young kids could attend classes- or get better wifi so we can connect in a private room and do our own thing.

I signed up one morning for membership services. Something came up with my finances and I had to cancel my membership 22 hours after. I only received the prorated fee of $28.67. I lost my $50 deposit. My advice to you is to make sure you want to sign up, because apparently they βearnβ their deposit instantaneously. Seemed very unfair and wonβt be going back when I decide to join a gym in the future.

It's a good family place. Not the best but a good place. If anything shines, it is the staff. They alone are worth the membership. I joined. Revision to this review. After time and I became more familiar with the YMCA, I canceled my membership. I originally got the membership to swim in the Summer. However, the pool was always closed. So my kids used the pool 0 (zero) times this last Summer. The staff for the gym all operate on different philosophies, rules and regs. It became stressful and intimidating for us all. My kids stopped wanting to go. We now exercise at the local schools. So sad to have to give a negative review to a place that has such great potential.

I started coming as a first time mom and they really helped me with learning how to trust others with my first born and helping her get used to being without mommy sometimes. She loves the YMCA and always looks forward to the childcare while i'm in the gym. She is only 19 months and has already taken swim twice and gymnastics at the YMCA. They have great programs for children and adults. They have helped my family so much and have a couple programs to assist with finances. Check them out!

I travel often and this is probably my least favorite YMCA. The locker room and pool are closed often for maintenance. However when I return on a different day there are no changes. Or I'll wait around until the time it is posted to reopen and they have never been on time. If you are crunched for time with obligations this is probably not the Y for you.

As a senior in transition, I feel a review of my experience, insofar, is necessary. Okay, lets start with the reception staff. So kind. Always there to assist in all aspects of one's day, be it good or not-so sometimes. The men on staff as well as those gals. Helpful, smiling, cheery, most of all, competent. You get a feeling of real leadership out of that staff of young ones. And with that I, too gain confidence. For it is with great respect I can visualize, their futures. All walks of life, given opportunity. Thank you management for letting me in, every time, although years getting on, it is good. P.S. Soon I will try some classes.
