The place, people, environment and management attitudes has changed...not neccesarily for the better. This gym has popped around to several locations throughout the last almost 7 years. It finally landed in a more "Seasoned" location where everything seemed ok for the first year..then things started changing, primarily attitudes and environment..the family and friendly atmosphere was really no more. Don't question, or make comments, its not welcomed. If you do, you stand to receive a scolding like a child or possible cancelation.

Sadly, one of their ONLY great programs recently closed down, which was adjacent to the gym. There seems to be adult occupants that live there, near another program that caters to kids.To which in one instance, one of those occupants entered my childrens class, trying to take over and started to threaten the instructor, instilling fear in the kids and hightened concern for the parents for the safety of their children, themselves and the safety of the location.
There was never any toilet paper, seat covers nor paper towels in that section of the gym, apart from it smelling really bad.
The tough side to swallow is the management and handling of business.. Its a business and should be kept as so which means respect, not crossing boundaries, inclusivity, did i mention respect?
Perhaps in the way long run it will take on a more business perspective than a personal one.

I dont know where to begin. The gym environment shifted so quickly when Joe decided to downgrade landpark and take equipments out of the gym to move to midtown. Members pay for landparks quality equipments and now is being replaced by low quality muscle destroyers. Half of the treadmills are gone. Stair masters are broken most of the time. Leg press machine got replaced with an at home stationary bike and the ambiance of body building type gym is gone gone.

Due to the recent changes and horrible smell of the paint, I canceled my membership however Joe didn’t take it well and he called my brother and talked trash about me and my complaints. I simply provided constructive criticism and he didn’t take it well. He said things that are not appropriate to say on here. I didn’t expect him to act this way by us canceling our membership. Very immature and child-like behavior. I will definitely not be anywhere near “joe’s fitness” and i dont need him to tell my brother that Im not welcomed. Talking behind my back to my brother was inappropriate and immature. Best of luck w your gym renovation journey joe.

I’ve been a member of this gym for a while, and I’m really disappointed with the recent changes. They’re taking out many of the commercial-grade machines, dumbbells, and plates, and bringing in lower-quality, non-commercial ones. It’s just not the same gym it used to be, it doesn’t have that old-school atmosphere anymore that made it special.

I used to come here because of the equipment and the environment, but now it feels like the focus has shifted away from being a gym. Every time I come in, something’s going on, painting, moving machines around, no music playing, soap dispensers being empty.

My husband has been a member of Joe's Fitness Revolution (formerly Fitness Systems) for over 10 years. This gym has now turned into a church - crosses up, worship music, bible verses plastered on the walls. That is the gym owner's right and it is my husband's right to quit his membership and find another gym. The gym owner, Joe, called him names and acted very unprofessionally when he learned that he was quitting his membership. He told my husband he is not allowed back in the gym, even though he has paid through the end of the month. The owner now refuses to refund him the balance. Be eyes wide open about this facility.

Forget the negative reviews. This gym offers a variety of weight machines not found at most other major gyms, with competitive pricing. You can hit muscles in ways you hardly can with typical equipment. I like the layout as well. Big fan of the separate rooms unlike many gyms which are just one enormous space where you can see people from end to end. Also got word from Joe that they are expanding, so just another reason I plan to maintain my membership indefinitely for now.

I have been a member of this gym off and on for 7 years. I left the last time because I moved out of land park, so I joined a couple of other gyms always searching for the comfort and community I felt at fitness system land park. I never found those feelings at any other gym. I love how small, quiet, and peaceful it is at this gym, which is why I now chose to drive across town to come and work out. Plus, they have the Jacob’s ladder which I have never found at any other gym and I LOVE. I will probably always be loyal to this gym because I can’t stand working out any where else. The staff, the child center, and the peaceful atmosphere will always bring me back.

Gym has gone down hill fast. The Un-personal trainers will train 3-5 people at once in the middle of the weight room. Alfonso will take 4 pieces of equipment to teach a "class" for hours.

Gym got bought out from a group that has closed two gyms locally already. Can't afford to restock supplements and clearly fix anything at the gym. Highly recommend the West Sacramento location. Really upsets me to make this post but I have too, my brother and I were loyal to this gym for a lot of years. I loved coming here and it makes me a lil sad that I won’t anymore. There’s 1 employee (idk her name) African American and she has dreads. But honestly she was so rude to both of us. Never greeted us when we would walk in and would have an attitude when we would ask her in lock the door for the tanning room. She needs need to be talked to asap because she’s literally the only one.

I joined this gym in January 2020, and since then I have met a lot of really cool people. What I love about this gym is the sense of community. No matter where you are on your fitness journey all are welcome. In fact, me and my mother workout here and she’s in her 60’s. The Manager Brit is very approachable and always willing to answer questions and the child care specialist Jessica is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. I definitely recommend this gym if your looking for a more community oriented facility.

I used to love this gym, but I just cancelled my membership after 6 years. I’m a 5-6 days a week member. When I started, I loved the vibe here, but lately it’s just gone downhill really fast. All the people on staff that I really liked are gone, the maintenance is almost non-existent, and the whole place just feels like it’s been abandoned by the owner. It’s always hot during the summer months, and there are pieces of equipment that I’ve been asking to be repaired for months that haven’t been fixed. I was feeling bad about leaving too, until they stuck me with an additional months dues as a “cancellation fee”. I reviewed my contract and it’s so vaguely worded that I’m sure I could have fought it, but it’s not even worth my time. It’s just a blatant cash grab that ensures that I’ll never return. Time to move on.

Finally found the best gym in Sacramento! I have been to many gyms in the area and could not find a gym that offers all that Fitness Systems does. Tons of free weights and every kind of machine. The set up is very well divided with quiet areas for stretching, cardio, and performance training. I cannot believe it took this long to find this place! My son had a membership that we tried to cancel during Covid. But they would not allow us to do it over the phone. My son changed payment method and it was his mistake that he did not understand how it worked. I went in to cancel the membership and they were not going to let me even though he was 16. They made it so difficult. Despite not using it, they charged me for the month plus a $15 fee to charge it. It took forever and of course, no masks because they are exercising their freedom.They could not print out a receipt, so I had her write it on a Service receipt with day and amount. We just got another charge. I called the manager who told me, "I do not see a request to cancel," even though I had explained what had happened. She made it seem like she was doing me a favor rather than saying, "oops, so sorry, let's fix this." I lost it. I think it is awesome to exercise one's rights and to follow policy, but they made it so difficult to try to stop the membership and were incredibly unprofessional when I called. This is a scam companies do hoping you will not check your monthly statements. Wouldn't it have been great when I first went in to say, We are going to cancel and not charge you for the month because we hope when the weather gets better and you feel more comfortable with the vaccine that you will come back and be our customer. Nope, looked at their bottom line for the month rather than long term.

I quit going to Fitness Systems Land Park when COVID hit. When I tried to cancel my membership the owner Sean told me not to worry - all billings have been frozen. I have not used the gym since March 2020. Today I received a letter from a collection agency for a past due amount. (I have never missed or been late on a payment for the 5 years I was a member) I was not contacted once by the gym about my membership or any balance due. I tried to resolve this immediately and was given the complete run-around by the onsite manager. This has been a very disappointing customer experience and a petty attempt to collect a payment that isn't due. I will respond accordingly.

After being a member for 3 years, I have recently had some severe concerns about this organization. We all understand how challenging the quarantine has been, but every business/family/person is going through this together. Fees were not charged for April or May, so I just assumed that monthly fees were not being charged until the stay at home order was lifted. In August, I checked my credit card and discover I was charged a yearly maintenance fee plus the monthly fee. I went back and checked my credit card statements, only to find out I was charged monthly fees for June and July. I figured these just had to be simple mistakes so I called the Land Park gym. I was told that they were closed and a manager was unavailable but would get back in touch with me. I waited a few days with no call back. I called again, but the phone just rang and eventually cut off. I called their original location in Lodi and asked to speak with a manager. None was available, but the customer service person I spoke with said that they had received many calls from the Land Park gym and that the gym was open and conducting business outside. Confused, I asked to how can you use weight lifting/treadmills outside and again requested to speak to a manager. I was was told none were available. I am still waiting to hear back from someone who can fix this and hope this is a simple mistake.

J.C's bootcamp Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 530p are 🔥 it's my second week and I really enjoy it. It's hard work, you will sweat, you will be sore, and as a result you'll see results! I haven't worked out in the gym yet but I love that it's small with a lot of equipment, and never crowded. Hand sanitizer and wipes stations everywhere!

Friendliest fitness center I've ever been part of and well maintained machines. With two floors of free weights and machines, there are always new opportunities to keep your workout fresh. Add in some stimulating classes as well as skilled and personable trainers, and it has everything I need.

I really wanted to like this place. It's one off those great little neighborhood gyms. Not too crowded and close to home. But the smell! Why do they use chemical scents (air fresheners) in a place people go to be healthy? Maybe they think the benefits of working out will counter all of the chemicals you breathe in and that coat your lungs and nostrils and get into your blood stream while you're working out?! Unbelievable.

I have been a member for 6 years and am highly considering leaving. Nearly all of the cardio equipment upstairs is extremely dated and has major issues. Downstairs, weight machines are extremely worn and the facility is quite dirty. Compared to other gyms in the area, this facility offers extremely little. Management needs to do some serious updating in order to keep its members.

The membership price is just right, the workout environment is great. Upstairs and downstairs workout sections. Staff is always nice to members as well. On a side note you can watch giraffes eating from across the street while you workout.

I love this gym!! Ive been a member for over 2 years...there are always machines & weights available. A large cardio room upstairs with plenty of bikes, treadmills, etc. Very reasonable membership fees and most importantly It is NOT a meat market!!!

After my horrid experience with 24 Hour Fitness, I decided on joining this gym. BEST decision ever. It's the perfect size and has all I need to get me on the road back to my ultimate health including an amazing sauna! The room for classes is enormous. I was never one for classes, but I will try them here.

Staff is super friendly and so welcoming! Very clean, always has parking and childcare is free. Upon stepping on the treadmill for the first time at this gym, I can honestly say it feels like home! I am going to completely enjoy my workouts and feel so encouraged here. I absolutely love this gym!

I love this gym! It's small but efficient. There are plenty of free weights and machines. Dumbbells go well over 100lbs. Free classes. Definitely a gym focused on weights.

This gym is really unorganized they can't even fill out proper paper work for my gym pass they claim I started in March when I started in April and I even told them to go Chek the cameras to prove that I only started to come in April. They checked the system and they don't even have me in there then I asked when the owner is going to be there and they said take his email. Not like he's going to reply regardless.
