John takes pride in witnessing his clients transform through fitness, improving their quality of life, and guiding them towards living pain-free and fulfilling lives.
Or do you enjoy meeting new people or want to train with your friends? John also provides group training sessions at the gym or at Lake Merced.

I had a chance to work with John for the better part of two years consistently. I was out of shape severely. I had the great pleasure to have John Zhang as my personal trainor during spring and summer of 2024.
I had two goals for the training: to decrease my body fat percentage, and to increase my muscle mass.
By the end of the summer I had reached those goals. I felt stronger, and liked again the way my body looked.
I attribute my success in reaching the goals to John’s effective training methods.
John created new whole body workouts for each weekly session. As a result, my body was always being challenged to complete the workouts.
Besides being challenged, I felt engaged and never bored during our training sessions.
John was lots of fun to train with. He has an outgoing, positive, supportive personality. Also, as an athlete himself, he is perfectly suited to train other athletes, like me.

I've had the pleasure of working with John while he was at 24hr fitness for almost a year. Had to stop due to them robbing you of your money, of course corporations right?! I've had other trainers in the past that I liked but he truly truly made me enjoy fitness especially since he tailored it to what I wanted to do. He will definitely help you see results and if you're into weight lifting which I am and never knew before John, he is your go to.

I’ve been working With John for three years. I am 68 years old and was having challenging health problems. He not only helped me get in shape but help me overcome some health challenges, and as a result, I have reduced some medication‘s. He really knows how to cater to your needs. If you are looking for a trainer that can tailor to your workout goals, John is definitely the trainer you are looking for. I have been working a lot and one day I just hit a plateau in which I could not lose any weight and whatever workout I did. I was not able to tone up my body. That is when I was in seach of a trainer and found John. He came out with workouts that tailored to my goals and how my body works. Whenever I was doing a certain workout, he would always make sure that I am using the correct muscles. He does this by asking if I feel stretched here or there.
