I am a current member and while the tennis courts, pool, and racquet ball courts are great the inside gym needs to be remodeled. I was a member of LifeTime and the membership price is very similar for the same amenities. A refresh of the gym area is long overdue.

I worked in a health club when I was younger and joined a premier health club near by. Johnson Ranch by far is the nicest best health club I have had the pleasure of belonging to!

We had a very concerning experience at Johnson Ranch Sports Club regarding our child’s safety. We were told — by both the sales office and the front desk — that the afterschool program would meet children at the street corner in front of the club and escort them inside safely. Based on this, we instructed our daughter to meet staff at the designated spot after school.

On the first day, no staff showed up. Our daughter was left alone off school grounds with no supervision. Fortunately, we were present and intervened. Initially, we were told someone should have been there, but no one arrived. About 30 minutes later, a staff member called to ask if our daughter would be attending that day — indicating they were unaware of her location. Over an hour later, the afterschool program coordinator, Michelle, called and informed us that the information we had been given was incorrect — they do not escort children and expect them to walk alone. Michelle’s response was notably unprofessional and lacked empathy for the seriousness of the situation.

We met with the General Manager, who asked what could be done to keep us as members. We explained that we only requested that the program follow the procedures they had originally represented. Despite this, no corrective action was taken.

To make matters even more concerning, within days of this incident, our child’s school issued a community alert: two students had been approached by an unknown woman in a gray car on East Roseville Parkway — the same road where our daughter would have been waiting unsupervised. The woman reportedly offered the students food from her trunk and mentioned puppies and swimming. The incident was reported to the Roseville Police Department.

This highlights the very real dangers of leaving children unsupervised in this area.

It is important to note that front desk staff were professional and appropriately concerned, but the overall handling of this situation was unacceptable.

Had we not been there, our child would have been alone at a busy intersection, with no supervision and at real risk. We trusted Johnson Ranch based on the safety assurances they gave us — assurances that turned out to be false.

Families should be fully informed of these risks before trusting their children’s safety to this facility.

Such a great sports club. Equipment is always clean, towels are always restocked and clean. The pool is great, always heated at just over 80 degrees so it is always comfortable. In each locker room, there are free lockers, sauna, steam room, and plenty of showers. Lastly, the staff is very friendly and always willing to help if need be. Highly recommend this place!

These people are a nightmare to cancel. I called several times and was given the runaround - until I finally frustratingly showed up in person (I was travelling abroad and wasn't going to be able to use my membership) and was told some policy precluded them from cancelling despite my having tried multiple times ahead of time. Now they're emailing me trying to charge me for the months I was out of the country. I used to have fond memories of this place as a kid but they're an absolute nightmare to deal with now. Not worth the $ for this kind of service and hassle.

Spend a little more and go to Lifetime for a cleaner, much newer, friendlier facility. The sauna & steam room almost never work. There are few group ex classes and almost nothing on weekends/after hours, so if you have a job, you're out of luck. The staff is negligent. My son got a head injury during a kids' class and they didn't tell me. They also let my son leave kid's club alone. One night they closed without checking the pool and left me locked me outside alone without my keys or purse and no way to exit. They have one staff member at night, so if it's a male, the female locker rooms are a disaster and never have towels. The pickleball staff are nice, but they're always having tournaments, so it's tough to get a weekend court. We wanted to have a better experience.

Coming up on my first full year of being a member at Johnson Ranch and it’s been awesome. The staff is super friendly, it’s never crowded, and the instructors for the group classes are really good. I was looking for yoga, spin classes, a pool, a sauna , and Johnson Ranch delivers.

So I started at this gym approximately 6 months ago, and all was well it’s a fairly clean gym, the locker rooms have a odor, and for the amount that’s charged it’s just average at best. Well fast forward to now and I’ll explain my situation, I travel back and forth from Texas to Cali every month and sometimes for 2 weeks at a time, and when I’m there I use the facility 3-4 times a week. So safe to say at the $600+ I’ve spent I have more than paid my fair share. Well my work assignment ended and I’m no longer traveling back to Cali I found this out around the begin to middle of sept and found out I’d have one more trip so I would just cancel my membership then and that would be it.. no that wasn’t it, I was told I needed to cancel by the 15th and that the local location could waive my next months due, but that it may get kicked back at corporate. I thought that was a bit unfair because it was never explained that I needed to cancel by the 15th; but I figured let’s see what they’ll due being they’ve been at this location forever and they seem like decent people running the business, boy was I let down, I have family members that go to this location and I will be urging them to take their business elsewhere as well. Good luck with your shotty business practices even in 2023 y’all still operating like “whelp sorry we can’t do anything”.

Lots of gross bandages in the pool on many occasions we have gone . Now my daughter doesn’t want to get into the pool because she says it’s gross. We are cancelling our membership . Maybe if they keep increasing membership fees they will be able to afford to remove the bandaids from the pool🤔

This is the best gym in the area by far. The membership cost is worth it, especially when created on a family plan. All workers in the facility are compassionate and supportive, and everything in the center is clean on a consistent basis. One criticism is that they are extremely overdue for a new sauna; the one we have currently doesn't stay on and is very annoying because you can't use it when it hasn't been warming up for almost 45 mins, so if you don't have time... good luck getting your sauna sesh in lmao. Once this is resolved, I will be happy to write a very positive 5 Star Review! As of right now I cannot, simply because the sauna is a huge part of not only myself and my own routine, but many other older gentlemen in the club, who also cherish the amazing and very long list of benefits that the sauna offers. This includes increased longevity of life, and in a study conducted by doctor Yamini Ranchod, 100 Participants over the age of 30 used the sauna two to three times a week. During this period of time, participants were 22 percent less likely to experience sudden cardiac death than those who only used it once a week. Those who used a sauna four to seven times a week were 63 percent less likely to experience sudden cardiac death and 50 percent less likely to die from cardiovascular disease than those who only used a sauna once a week... you will literally live longer, and the last thing I would ever want is to be a contributing factor for the absence of these incredible physiological benefits to our timeless senior members of Roseville and the surrounding areas! Overall this is an amazing racquet club where many beginner and pro tennis players are actively using courts. The steam room is perfect, and I would like to know where their water is sourced from as well.

Actually had car trouble here so I didn't really visit the place I just had to park in their parking lot until I got help from my friend who was coming but I will tell you this they didn't make me feel uncomfortable or look at me strange for being parked in the parking lot and not being a familiar face or customer they didn't make me feel out of place at all.

By far the best gym option especially during corona. They have the largest campus I’ve ever seen so there’s always space for last minute reservations so far. Their staff is so friendly and welcoming. I’m very happy I went here instead of the other “nice” fitness centers in the local area. They’re also by far the cleanest. They have a great system for keeping their members safe from COVID. I can’t recommend them enough.

Great sports club, indoor and outdoor basketball court on this South side, lots of tennis courts the swimming pool is awesome, but is really busy at times (check the calendar for swimming competitions). Jacuzzi is super big and comfortable. Kids room is the best and they have an employee watching kids play. Looker rooms are clean. Great customer service
