JORDAN IS AWESOME. One of the best personal trainers and coaches I've ever worked with. He understands deeply how muscles work with each other, and builds you a program that addresses your unique muscle imbalances. I've enjoyed working with him for the past year, and plan to continue.

Both my wife and I have been working with Jordan for over 2 years now. Working with Jordan has significantly increased our strength, flexibility and stability. He takes body measurements from time to time which bear out the progress we have been making. He also recently moved to a new gym on Grand Avenue in Oakland. The gym is also great, light filled and airy and with all new state of the art equipment.

My wife and I have been training with Jordan for the past few months.
He is an incredible trainer and does a great job at creating challenging sessions that work for the two of us!
I am training for a half ironman while my wife is more focused on heavy lifting -- so we each have quite different training needs. Jordan is able to run a training session giving each of us separate exercises / programs seamlessly.
Jordan has helped both of us get so much stronger. He creates sessions that really push you, and knows how to teach the fundamentals of weight lifting so that you can bring those skills into workouts on your own as well.
Can't recommend him as a trainer enough!

I’ve been working with Jordan for almost a year. His workouts are top notch, he’s improved my form, and my lifts are at all time high. Not once have I suffered a training related injury while working with him, and he’s helped correct several imbalances through strength and stretching work as well. He does an excellent job understanding my needs and priorities, and designs the workout around that. Highly recommended!

I reached out to Jordan to help me prepare for an Ironman and he helped me to understand how to work strength training into what is usually just loads of cardio. It's produced great results so far, and he's a great guy - easy to work with, fun to spend time with, flexible about scheduling, and a good communicator.

I've worked with Jordan for a year and a half to train for half and full marathon, as well as weightlifting/power lifting. Cannot be happier with my results! Jordan brings extraordinary energy and a wealth of knowledge to every session

I’ve been working with Jordan for a little over a month and am already making big progress towards my goals! I’m stronger, leaner and feeling great. It’s amazing to walk into the gym with a ready made plan: takes the stress of making decisions out of the gym and lets me focus on putting all my energy into the lifts!

Jordan is an excellent personal trainer. Not only does he practice what he preaches, he's very encouraging and informative to make the most out of our session. I left our workout together feeling exhausted and pumped. He's a great person to have on your side to help you reach your goals!

When I first started training with Jordan, I hadn’t been doing much exercise prior at all, and I knew I needed accountability and someone to guide me who has the fitness expertise that I simply didn’t have. I also had an interest in building more strength, and at the time, standard gyms were quite intimidating and I really wanted to make sure I was exercising with safe form. *Enter JORDAN!* Jordan took the time to carefully assess my starting strength, and he gradually built up my exercises over time. Jordan has always met me where I’m at, while also encouraging me towards lifting heavier.
Jordan’s knowledge and expertise of all things fitness and anatomy is pretty mind-blowing, and he is shares everything he knows with his clients. At one point I was dealing with an injury, and Jordan was able to accommodate my workouts so that I could proceed with training in a safe way. That really meant a lot to me to feel supported through that, and Jordan helped me build back my confidence. Jordan can absolutely train people of all abilities.
Over the past 1.5 years or so of training with Jordan, I’ve gotten so much stronger, my mental health is better, and I now know more than the guys at the standard gyms (hehe). It’s been so great pushing myself in a way I hadn’t before, and I definitely couldn’t have done it without Jordan. Also, our sessions are so much fun! Fitness knowledge aside, Jordan basically knows everything about any other topic LOL, so if you want to talk about music, literature, bad dad jokes, movies, entomology, vegan food, or literally anything else as you’re breathless between sets, then Jordan is your guy. Haha! Thank you for everything Jordan! :)
tldr; Jordan is amazing and you should start training with him immediately!

My wife and I are your typical 9-5 office workers with back pains and generally weak bodies. After a vacation trip that we couldn't enjoy much due to our inability to stay active, we decided that we needed changes.
We felt great working out with Jordan after just 1 or 2 sessions. His focus on form and safety makes us feel comfortable as novice weight lifters. We felt motivated, but not aggressively pushed. We feel sore but invigorated after each session, and thus are excited to keep going. After 6 months, my wife (a 105lbs, yoga / barre person who's scared about lifting) is able to squat 75lbs. I went from ~105lbs to ~195lbs squat. Best of all, we fixed lots of issues with being an office worker (back pain, rounded shoulder).
Some specific ways that Jordan shows that he wants the best for the customers:
1. We came in asking to work out as a couple. Jordan could charge more by letting us do that, but instead offered to train my wife solo first since my wife and I started out at different levels and can't train effectively together.
2. I ask a ton of questions about "why we do this technique but not that", and Jordan has always patiently explained, enabling me to train effectively on my own

Jordan's fantastic. I have learnt a lot and significantly improved in just a couple of months. I was afraid of going back to a trainer after the 2 year covid break but Jordan has been thoughtful and supportive in ramping things back up for me. His combined knowledge of nutrition, pilates, weight, cardio provides for a unique perspective that is personalized for my neefs. And Jordan's fun! Anyone looking for a trainer in Oakland should definitely talk to Jordan.

Jordan is a kind and accomplished trainer. He's happy to explain exercises and movement in depth, which I really appreciate. I like knowing the "why" behind everything, and he's always got the answer. Plus, he's super personable.
I've made huge amounts of progress in the 6 months I've been working with him. My main goal was injury prevention. I've been throwing out my back regularly since I turned 21. My back has never felt healthier since I started lifting. On top of that, I'm SO much stronger than I was before. I'm seeing general performance and endurance improvements in all of my exercise-related hobbies (climbing, horseback riding, hiking). If you're willing to put in the effort, you'll probably get the results you want with Jordan.

Jordan and I go started working out back in 2018. I came to him looking to get into better shape and to lose some body fat from two pregnancies. I love running and this was my main mode of exercise but I wasn’t getting the results I wanted. Working out with Jordan 1x per week and following workouts he provides during the week has gotten me great results, body fat down, feeling stronger and generally more fit.
Jordan is super knowledgeable about all aspects of training and fitness, providing nutrition recommendations, PT advice etc. He is great working around injuries, general aches and pains and incorporating the things you like/dislike. He has also been extremely flexible during COVID. We’ve moved from the gym to backyard workouts making the most out of the equipment we have at home. I’ve even gotten my husband to join which has made the workouts even more fun and enjoyable.

I have been working with Jordan for a little over 3 years, having been paired off with him at a gym in downtown Oakland just before he went independent, and feel so lucky to have found him. I'd had worked with trainers before but never anyone as knowledgeable about body mechanics and anatomy, nor one who could advise me so well on my cardio training in addition to strength training.
Despite Jordan's history of extreme endurance sports (Ultras, centuries, Iron Man, etc.), he stresses strength training not just for performance but in cutting down on body fat and increasing lean body mass. His goal is to make the strength athletes do more cardio and the cardio athletes do more weight training. His approach has helped me reduce my body fat and add muscle, and which has helped me push past performance plateaus and take on tougher races like triathlons, trail half-marathons, and Spartans with confidence. And importantly, this has protected me from major injuries due to bad form or poor training routines.
On crucial note, I underwent a lumbar discectomy in 2015. Despite this I want to be pushed and challenged, but also need to be cautious of my lower back limitations. Jordan has been extremely helpful in creating workouts that kick my butt but also keep my back safe. And when I do occasionally have flare-ups of sciatica or back pain, he's able to further modify our workouts to keep me moving while not exacerbating the problem. It helps that Jordan not only has a team of PTs that he works with, but has a history working in PT clinics himself, just being shy of graduating from a DPT program. It also helps that Jordan takes the time to train you on WHY what you are doing is valuable, or why a move is potentially risky given your injuries. Unlike other trainers who guide you through the workout but teach you little that sticks over time, Jordan's training has made me more knowledgeable about how to workout safely in general, whether or not I'm with him. I hear his voice in my head with reminders about my form whenever I pick up some weights now!
Not only does Jordan know what he's doing but he cares about his clients and works hard to craft a workout that is suited to their particular needs. I couldn't have asked for a better trainer.

After several months of being in quarantine and doing little to no activity, I needed to start moving again. My main mode of exercise was through Core Power Yoga. Since all of these studios were closed, I decided to hire a personal trainer. I found Jordan through a little research of the professionals in my area.
In our initial screening, Jordan was very thorough, testing out my core and functional strength, cardiovascular baseline and joint stability. From this information, he was able to put together a very comprehensive plan for how to get me from remedial movements to full on squats, bench presses and deadlifts.
I've been working with him for several months and despite already being at a relatively low body fat percentage to start, I was able to lose further inches around my waist and a few lbs. More importantly, I am back to Core Power Yoga and my supplemental work with Jordan has drastically increased my performance in those classes.
Jordan is not just a great trainer and communicator, he's also a total goofball and friend. He cares deeply about his job and the clients he is helping. I look forward to my sessions with him every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. He's a great way to start and end the week.

I am a non-binary individual who started testosterone therapy a year ago. I am also a trainer who works in the same facility as Jordan. For years I had been working out on my own but mostly gravitated towards outdoor activities such as hiking, backpacking, surfing and running. I lifted weights but the motivation was not as high.
After starting testosterone therapy, my body started to change as did my aesthetic goals. I wanted to use nonbinary pronouns but have a more masculine body. I knew that what I was doing for my fitness wasn’t going to cut it for what I wanted to look like and accomplish.
The reason why I decided to train with Jordan is because he matches that archetype of a solid, male body, hovering around 6.5-7.5% body fat and packed with dense, defined muscle. While training my clients in the same room, Jordan would be on his break doing his own lifting routines, sometimes for the length of time it took me to train two clients with intensity, sharp focus and precision form. It’s one thing to be physically fit and impressive amongst intermediates and novice lifters, especially as a personal trainer. Jordan, however, is a totally different level of dedication and vigor; not only does he go hard in his weight and cardio workouts, but he’ll go at it for hours and then do it all again the next day. And he loves every second of it! I knew that if I was going to have any personal trainer of my own, it had to be Jordan.
Needless to say, Jordan’s jacked physique and passion was motivation for me to approach him to teach me a thing or two about my own workouts and my clients’. We’re 7 months into it and I have noticeable gains in both form and strength. My weight is 145 and my body fat percentage is down to a low 11% from 15. My bench press is at 135, squats at 185 and deadlifts at 175. I’m doing pull-ups, pushups until the cows come home and my outdoor activities are feeling stronger.
My stamina is up and my enthusiasm for sports is at an all time high; my paddling out on surfing days is easier; my runs are fast and more intense; I have fewer slow days and more energy.
As a bonus, I am able to take what I learn in our workouts and apply them to my clients’.
I see Jordan once a week for a heavy weight workout and he then assigns me homework for the rest of the week. He doesn’t just give you direction inside the workout but guidance for the hours you’re not together. He loves what he does, proof being that he’s there any hour of the day to answer your questions if you text him out of the blue. This is true accountability and guidance. I couldn’t recommend Jordan enough.

I have trained with Jordan for the better part of ten years, and, in addition to being a great friend, he’s been the best of the roughly half-dozen trainers I’ve worked with by a country mile. Jordan’s extremely knowledgeable about his profession, staying up to date on the latest fitness science and always incorporating new exercises. I love that he’s been able to customize workout regimen’s for me as my goals have evolved, be it a focus on strength, cardio, or overall fitness. And for those days when the energy level is wobbling or that last set is looking a little daunting, Jordan’s ready with his madcap sense of humor and a encyclopedic memory of music to keep me motivated and challenged.

I've been training with Jordan for about a year with in-person and virtual sessions. Before I started working out with Jordan, I had no idea how to properly strength train or use the gym equipment correctly. With him. I've seen noticeable results and we always have fun while working hard. I appreciate that he is so knowledgable and can explain the biology and science behind our workouts. He also goes above and beyond and holds me accountable. Highly recommend his sessions and will continue going to him for a long time.

Jordan’s expertise and supportive attitude have kept me coming back as a training client for almost two years now. I especially appreciate how he ensures that all muscle groups are addressed across workout sessions and that he documents in detail each circuit along with tips to perform them at home.

I work out with Jordan at Truve, which is awesome in its own right.
I've had a few trainers over the years, and only Jordan has provided the right mix of strength training and aesthetic building to keep me happy. We do the typical strength basics (deadlifts, squats, bench press), and add in other exercises based on Jordan's assessment of where things are lagging.
I've gone from doing 6 cheater pullups to 6 sets of 6 real pullups in 9 months, which I would have never thought possible. I've also blown past my maxes for squats, deadlifts, and bench press.
Oh, and the other big benefit of Jordan and his regimen is that he keeps an eye on form to ensure you don't injure yourself. That's why I went to him in the first place - I was repeatedly injuring myself as I neared my maxes for squats and wanted to figure out why. He helped make adjustments that have paid off.
I recommend him to anyone who wants to get stronger, look better, and feel better as they age. I'm in the best shape of my life at age 41 - I wish I had found Jordan years ago.

I'm a man of few words... any questions?
Just kidding. But to be as succinct, Jordan has been a great trainer to me for years and his style keeps evolving to better his clients' success. He stresses strength before aesthetic but the latter definitely follows. He not only gives you what you want but also what you need. He also makes sure he educates you on why the latter is more important to get to the former. Expect a lot of squats, deadlifts, bench press and other meathead movements but with precision form and proper movement mechanics. This is why I have trained with Jordan for years.
Also, dat azz.

Jordan trained me for my powerlifting competition in February 2019. I placed 1st in the 125lb/57kg weight category.
It has been fantastic preparing for competition under his guidance and support. Jordan is not only an amazing, devoted coach, but also a brilliant mentor and a kind friend.
Jordan is genuinely invested in the growth of his clients. I'm so thankful for all his time, effort and patience in training me so I could get back on the platform. Extra props to him for putting up with my incredibly stupid jokes and for keeping me focused when I'm tired, distracted or having an "off-day" at the gym.
My workout buddies at Truve (Jordan's clients) are also amazingly supportive and fun. We work out hard, but have a good laugh between sets. I'm lucky to enjoy the camaraderie of such a positive and uplifting group of people.
I'm so privileged to have Jordan as a trainer, and in a larger sense, to have him be a part of my life.
Thank you, Jordan, for believing in me and helping me achieve my goals!

I have trained with Jordan off and on for the past several years. He is, by far, the best trainer I have had. Not only is he in the best athletic condition but he is more knowledgeable than anyone I have met with regards to athletic training and fueling your body. Part of his expertise is identifying body mechanic deficiencies and weaknesses and helping you correct them. He will help you achieve your fitness goals and motive you forward and beyond!! I am a middle aged women and he helped me lose the 20 lbs that crept on over the past 6 yrs after an injury. I am back to running and trainer like I was in my 30’s and 40’s and feeling like an athlete again.
Jordan has my highest recommendation!
Thanks Jordan!

Jordan is an excellent, experienced trainer who has customized my strength-training to help me enjoy a variety of sports, including running, paddling, and biking. I've worked with him in person and virtually, and both formats are great! I especially appreciate how Jordan has been super flexible about adapting the content and length of my workouts to help me recover from a rotator cuff injury and a serious illness. He also has a proclivity for puns that raises the entertainment value of our sessions.
