I am a former college volleyball athlete, and for one reason or another, I ended up out of shape with severe knee and hip pain. Especially being 6'2" and having just turned 30, I thought it was simply my lot in life to have bad knees forever. While I had seen "Knees Over Toes" exercises online and conceptually agreed they could work, I just thought I was too far gone.
That was until I met Kai, who had no hesitation in believing she could fix my ailments and get me back to the pain-free, active life I missed.
My schedule:
I started once a week and very quickly jumped to twice a week because I saw how necessary it was.
Timeline:
It’s only been three months, and here’s my progress:
Starting Baseline:
Sharp knee pain walking down stairs, jogging, bending down, standing up from a chair—even waking up in the middle of the night from the aching pain.
1 month in:
90% of the knee pain is gone—still some clicking and cracking in certain joints.
2 months in:
100% of the knee pain and clicking sounds are gone. I'm actively enjoying stairs, chairs, and squatting everywhere!
3 months in:
I'm seeing muscle development I’ve never seen before around my knees and legs. The exercises I was once afraid to attempt—I’m now excited to cruise past my previous limits.
The class is engaging, Kai is responsive, and she gives the perfect balance of support and space. I feel like I have my life and active future back thanks to Kai and her intentional, knowledgeable approach to coaching. All body types, all goals—Kai's the one to help you reach yours.

Worst experience of my life! WORST TRAINER ON THE PLANET!
No training, no starting measurements, no pre workout 1st meeting eval, no nutrition consult, minimal interaction with My 2-person group, and appeared VERY aloof.
Went once and never went back after hurting my back, having to go to chiropractor, and get a toradol shot from pain mgmt Dr in Oceanside! No less, blamed me?
Save your time and hard earned $$ and look elsewhere! I Wound up filing a claim with SDCCU & Visa and got my prepay back, BUT it took months and owner didn't like my opinions, and had a lawyer threaten me with liable suit so this time I 💯 clarify:
No bueno IN MY OPINION, based on my ONE workout!
We are allowed to express opinions and give honest reviews based on experience in AMERICA, at least for now! #freespeech #HONESTREVIEW

I’ve been training 2x a week with Kai for a few months Update: YEARS!! and I am so glad I found her!
She pushes me super hard but she’s also understanding when something is just not working for my body and helps me find an alternative. She’s also helped me with diet, at-home workouts, and cardio. Literally sent me dozens of pictures of healthy things to buy at the grocery store because I was clueless about that stuff.
I started seeing her because I wanted relief from neck pain caused by my poor posture working at a desk all day, and I have to say, I can’t remember the last time I had neck pain.
I look forward to these sessions every week. I do the small group training and it’s nice to see the same folks around every week. Everyone is very kind and I never feel intimidated.

I'm about to hit the big 50 and after decades of an office job, my body needs help. Kai is amazing! She is patient and kind, but also knows when to push just a little bit. I am not a gym person. Always been intimidated by the big machines and racks of weights and mirrors, but this place feels so comfortable. So glad I found this place to help me get bk to healthy and so glad to hv Kai be my coach. If u just want to feel better about yourself inside and out, but don't want to hv to weather the intensity of someplace that has a fitness "scene," I cannot recommend Kai more!

Kai is the best! She knows exactly how to create different workouts that are both fun and challenging. I’ve been training with her for about a year now and it’s been an amazing journey watching my body transform. I’ve been prone to sciatic nerve issues and she’s also given me great tips to prevent flare ups which have really helped. Overall, Its a combination of her knowledge and cute personality that makes her training sessions something to look forward to!

I started working with Kai since March 2022, and I have seen such a significant change in how I look in that time. I’ve gotten significantly stronger and lost almost half of the body fat I’ve been trying to lose, and I couldn’t be happier with how far I’ve come. Kai is encouraging, knowledgeable, and genuinely so great to work with! She makes you feel comfortable and always asks if we have any injuries so she knows how to adapt the workouts to accommodate for those injuries. She’s fun and friendly, and I’m so incredibly grateful to be working with her. You truly will not find a greater trainer than Kai. She’s the best!!

Kai has surpassed any expectations I had when starting with her as a client. She tailors each exercise for my husband and I based on our needs and anything going on with our bodies. My husband has previously had a lower back injury and I have had complications related to cancer and Kai makes sure to guide us through workouts specifically for each of us. She has also been an incredible resource for nutrition and workouts we can complete at home.
On top of all that, Kai is an incredible human being and one of my biggest cheerleaders as I battle cancer. When I first got my diagnosis I was extremely anemic, having a great amount of pain related to a mass on my hip and had to step away from the gym for a few months. Kai stayed in closet contact and even brought meals to my family's home, multiple times.
We are now back in the gym with Kai and I'm so thankful to be a part of the Kai Boyer Fitness family! 110% recommend!

Irina is a great trainer! I've been training with Irina since June 2020, and I've made some great progress. I've lost weight and have been able to keep it off. My strength is increasing as well. I take the group sessions, 2-4 people at the same time, but Irina does a great job of giving everyone the attention they need. I train with girls at different fitness levels, but Irina adjusts the workouts to meet all of our needs.
Irina keeps everything extremely clean and is constantly wiping down the equipment throughout our sessions.
Overall great trainers who know their stuff. I'm happy to have found them during Covid, and can't wait to see more progress.

I highly recommend Kai for personal training. She is currently training me outside, at home during COVID (wearing a mask and sanitizing gear), and from our first interaction (about a month ago), she was professional, patient, friendly, flexible, and as expected, she is incredibly knowledgeable about fitness.
Kai is great all around, but one of the best parts about working with Kai is that she makes strength training accessible no matter your starting point. She meets you where you are in your journey without judgement, and ensures you are making steady progress in a way that is engaging and fun. Her workouts are tough, but not intimidating. She breaks things up into manageable parts and knows how to set the circuit so that you are challenged, but ultimately successful in completing the workout. I also appreciate that she is really all-in on her training services. She answers questions via text & email between sessions, and will check in and give you mid-week encouragement and ideas. She is resourceful with using what you already have to train, and leveraging things you like to do to keep it fun. I look forward to continuing to work with her!

I have been working with Kai Boyer for about a month now. Kai has been a great motivator from the start. On my initial visit we discussed my goals and I feel we are on the road to accomplishing them. I have already noticed a difference in my strength and coordination. On top of my work out plan at the gym, Kai has created home work outs for me and also a nutritional plan. She is very responsive when I have questions outside of the gym.
I am not a huge fan of exercising but she makes it fun and very motivating for me and that says ALOT! I highly recommend Kai as she is AWESOME!

I’ve worked with a number of trainers over the years. Kai is by far the best - she works with you to establish the plan for you and together you work the plan. I just had my annual physical - the results are the best I’ve had in 20 years. I am 74 years old. My doctor’s quote, “ Whatever she’s doing, keep it up.” Kai even makes ‘leg day’ doable and for me that’s really something.

Kai is an extremely professional and knowledgable fitness expert!. Kai's approach to functional fitness and her creativity in every workout has really made a difference in my health, strength,and well being.
Kai is not the kind of trainer who puts everyone through the same cookie cutter workouts. After two shoulder surgeries Kai has been able to help me to carefully regain my fitness, and flexibility! Kai is also extremely ethical and she has amazing follow up on any questions from diet, to billing etc.
Her team of other trainers is also amazing. Thank you Kai for all you do!

Kai is definitely as good as they come for personal trainers. Not only does she have a great personality with lots of encouragement and fun in the workout, she has a very high level of knowledge in her field. I have used personal trainers before over the past two decades for body building as well as for toning. She is the best I have experienced. Over more than a year of training with her I can confidently say I have learned something new every time I have trained with her. She is truly a special trainer and I could not give her higher recommendation. She even sends extra workout ideas, diet plans etc. without hesitation. She loves what she does and it shows.

My wife and I started a weekly training session with Kai about 5 months ago. We really like working with Kai and would recommend her to anyone who would like to have fun and exchange witty repartee during the hour long training session. My wife and I have noticed an increase in our strength in both our arms and our torso.

As a chiropractor I cannot stress enough the value of an experienced and competent personal trainer. If you work with Kai she will help you identify a plan to get results, keep you accountable, and reduce the possibility of an injury. Kai knows when to push and when to dial it back. In my experience its hard to find someone with the right energy, experience, personality, and overall compatibility. You want someone that you enjoy being around, but also someone with a knack for coaching knowledge. I'm glad to have her as a local resource and would not hesitate to recommend her.

I have worked out with Kai for the past 2 years now, we have become so familiar as friends and I really appreciate her passion with which she does her work, she pre plans our workouts so brilliantly that we rarely do the same thing twice.
