Key To Fitness has been my go to gym for several years now. It’s a rare 24hr gym with all the equipment you need. It’s tucked away in a perfect, quiet spot right on lower state street. It’s among the most sanitary gyms in Santa Barbara with regularly scheduled cleanings. I’m yet to have a negative interaction at Key To Fitness. All the staff are extremely easy to get along with. Highly Recommend! -KP

I highly recommend Key2fitness for beginners or experienced lifters. I have been going to the downtown Santa Barbara location for a little over a year on and off. The staff has always been incredibly kind and helpful, amazing community, and great clean maintained equipment with wide variety.

Best darn gym in town and it’s not even close. An owner who completely gets it. β€œIt” is 24 -7 access, great equipment, exceptionally clean, spotless restrooms, plenty of cardio devices and a fantastic location.

You will not be disappointed.

Thank you Brian!!!

The Key to Fitness Gym in Santa Barbara is truly exceptional. The owner, Bryan, is incredibly helpful and approachable someone you can speak with not just as a gym owner, but as a friend. He is very understanding, and the entire staff reflects the same level of professionalism and care. They are always attentive, supportive, and consistently keep the facility clean and well-maintained. They do an outstanding job, and it shows in the experience they provide for all members.

Key2Fitness has been an awesome spot for getting my workouts in on my schedule. I really appreciate the 24-hour access, which makes it super convenient to come in whenever I have time and move at my own pace without feeling rushed or crowded. The gym is easy to use, well-kept, and has everything I need for a solid session.

Another thing I really enjoy is that there’s a boxing gym right next door. Being able to transition between lifting, cardio, and boxing all in one visit is a huge bonus. It keeps my routine fun and gives me a lot more variety whenever I want to switch things up.

Overall, K2F is a great, flexible place to train β€” convenient, clean, and perfect for anyone who likes to work out on their own terms, the owner Brian is super chill and you can call or text anytime with questions and concerns ! Love my k2F membership!!

My experience at this gym was mixed. Communication from management was unprofessional, and I decided to cancel my membership.

Prospective members may also wish to review publicly available information about the gym’s owner in local news archives before joining.

amazing gym. I wish I lived here to use it everyday. They have multiple barbells and machines. They have everything you need for powerlifting and bodybuilding here. Brand new nautilus machines. Hack squat, hip thrust, tibial raise, seated calf raise, leg extension , hamstring curl, traditional leg press , leg press seated, lat pulldown , incline bench , flat bench, seated row, and 2 cable pulleys systems .

I have been going to Key2 Fitness for about 2 months now, and it has quickly become one of my favorite gyms I have been to. It is incredibly clean, fully stocked with any equipment needed for your workout, and clients / staff are incredibly friendly and courteous. I would very highly recommend!

I went to try out this gym for the first time and, upon arrival, I was ready to pay for a one-hour session. A kind trainer told me not to worry about it because there was no one available to process the payment, and I was only planning to stay for an hour anyway.

However, there was another trainer β€” named something like Fix, Fit, or a similar English name I couldn’t pronounce β€” who treated me extremely poorly. He had a rude and arrogant attitude, and was openly disrespectful to me for not being from this country. He also insulted me for being a woman.

I’ve never experienced anything like this in a gym before. It was a terrible service and a horrible moment that made me feel unsafe and humiliated. I absolutely do not recommend this gym.

I’m very serious about working out. When I’m out of town, I never miss a workout. I was on vacation for a week in Santa Barbara. This gym was perfect. It has all the free weights you need, including bench press, bar bells, lat pull machines, stationary bikes, treadmills, etc. It has workout equipment downstairs and upstairs. Has great restrooms, and clean workout towels. And the price is right. If you’re visiting, you can pay by the day or pay for a week. Very convenient!

Nice little gym. Low key. I was just visiting the area. Came in after 10pm on a Tuesday. Attentive helpful staff. Fair drop-in price. Very few people. Have showers. I did some cardio, a bench press set, and some yoga in the second floor mezzanine. Will be back.

Feels like your very own private gym. Every member is respectful and polite. Bathrooms and showers are clean and sanitary all the time. I've been a member to almost every gym in Santa Barbara, and this one is by far the best. By "this one" I mean all of their locations. I live in Carpinteria and work out there, and frequently go to Enso MMA next door, and there is continuity and consistency in my experience regardless of where I go. Key 2 Fitness is the best!

This is exactly the kind of gym that I have been looking to join. It has a small community feel, but an extensive line of equipment that allows for all types of exercise. The gym has a ton of natural light and is kept extremely clean. The staff is awesome as well.

Awesome little gym. Not one of those box chain stores filled to the brim with useless machines. This gym is pretty bare bones. It has exactly enough equipment for you to get a good workout in without all the extra frippery. There are three bathrooms, with two showers. The gym has 2 floors with plenty of equipment. The gym is never too busy and is kept really clean and neat. Everything is in good condition, and they have free wifi and sports on the TV all day. I go there to train with a personal trainer. There's free parking in the REI parking lot for Key 2 Fitness members.

I'll miss this gym. Equipment are always well kept, clean (staff are always cleaning or washing the towels), bathrooms are spotless. Nick the trainer knows his stuff and is a great teacher, look for him for results. Robyn is incredibly friendly to everyone and makes you feel welcome from the first day. Great friendly atmosphere, no attitude, no intimidation.

This is a decent gym with 24 hour access. They have an Olympic platform, but no weight dropping is allowed. If you want to do anything more advanced than deadlifts and squats, look elsewhere. But, the equipment is pretty top notch. They have an erg!

I hit this gym while I was on vacation in Santa Barbara. Even when it was busy, I was easily able to find room and get my sets in without any problems. The staff was extremely friendly and the trainers I came across seemed fairly knowledgeable. If you are looking to do powerlifting, bodybuilding, or just generally get in shape, you should definitely be able to accomplish your goals here. Olympic lifting isn't allowed if you are into that sort of thing, so be aware of that. Private showers and towels are readily available. Online signup was fast and easy and gets you instant 24 hour access to the facility. Overall, an excellent experience.

As a member for a few years now, I am glad to call Key 2 Fitness my second home. The space is compact, but to the point and never over-crowded even during typical "busy" hours. Everyone is incredibly friendly, even members and trainers whom I don't know have come up and said hi to me. Really wide variety of equipment covering all training styles: free weights, weight machines, TRX, bumper weights & platform, cardio machines etc. The environment is clean at all hours, including the bathrooms/showers. No intimidating overwhelming gym vibe, just down-to earth people putting in hard work, which is why I stick around. Thanks Brian (owner) for maintaining a welcoming, cool facility in Santa Barbara.

It's great working out at this gym. The equipment is new and in good condition. If something isn't working it gets fixed in a timely manner. You get the usual rush right after work but its still isn't terrible. The bathrooms are in good shape and the ventilation is good so it doesn't wreak of sweat and BO. You would think that all of these things would be the norm, but unfortunately in town that isn't the case. Which makes me appreciate it that much more.

I liked this place and used to be a member here, but someone had to ruin that experience. I was going to renew my membership here, but I wasn't even in the gym for 5 minutes and I was threatened by a meathead for "using his machine" while he was clearly preoccupied using another one. We're talking about a 40+ year old man threatening to fight a 20 year old guy for no good reason. Very immature. If this is what I have to deal with when I'm going about my business, I'd rather go somewhere else.

Brian, the owner treats you like a VIP. The staff and trainers are the best in SB by far. I have had trials to every gym and for sheer workout and gym experience key 2 fitness is clean, serious and to the point. I like the 24/7 hours and the fact I left my I pad over night and it was still there 2 days later.

Key 2 Fitness is a gym you can feel comfortable working out in. It's always clean and tidy and the equipment is all up to date. The gym is small boutique sized, but never too crowded. There is a loft area with lots of open space for TRX workouts or stretching.

Even as a college student, their rates are totally affordable. It costs a little more than 24, but what you're getting is an upscale 24 hour gym free of meatheads There is also easy free parking nearby.

I've been a member of Key for over a year now and love it. It's a small and very equipped gym and the trainers are great. I never feel intimidated doing my own workouts, which is huge, because as much as I workout, I still get kind of self conscious. The best part is that the gym is always really, really clean. Oh and another added perk is that I can let myself in anytime of day or night - makes it so easy to not have to wait to go to the gym in the wee hours of the morning when I'm awake and most of the world is still sleeping :)
