This truly is the best fitness program I’ve ever been part of. The focus on strength training has helped me build muscle mass, which has been incredibly beneficial as a woman in my 40s navigating the natural changes of perimenopause. This is a great place for everyone, at any age. I got my 72 year old mom into it and she’s already seeing the benefits after going for only 4 weeks! The way the workouts are structured ensures that you get a good workout, regardless of your fitness. If you stick with it, you will see the improvement over time, which is incredibly motivating!

I was in Santa Barbara for work, my plane home was delayed at 6 AM in the morning on a Sunday. I looked for a gym nearby to kill some time and found killer b fitness. I was able to walk right in, sign up and start the work out right away. Everyone was very welcoming and the coach gave very clear direction and guidance to help me through the program. I got a fantastic workout in before I head to head back to the airport.

Visiting SB and haven’t really worked out for 2 years. My friend works out at Killer B and asked me to go with her. I was super hesitant because it seemed so intense and I haven’t been working out. I went anyway and had the BEST workout. Their format allowed me to go at my own pace and difficulty level. I got an amazing workout and the trainer helped guide me through the process and equipment. If your fit this place is an obvious win, that said, if your out of shape do not skip this workout if your intimidated. It is doable and you will get a great workout. And if you keep it up you’ll be fit before long.

My husband and I lived in the area for three months and chose to call this place our gym home. We felt welcomed right away by all of the trainers, including the owner. As a person with a physiology and exercise science background, the way this gym is run makes sense to me. The workouts are thoughtfully planned out and executive. The gym also caters to people of different ages and abilities which I also appreciate. All are truly welcome here. Bob was also willing to accommodate our three month timeline for pricing which was also very nice. Consider going this gym for a trail or for the long run. You will be a healthier person all around because of it!

It's been over a year since I joined
Killer B I have stuck with the program, attending 3-4 times per week and have participated in many of the super fun Eat Clean Fitness Challenges they offer. I have put in the time and have worked hard. As a result, I am in the best shape I have been in in years! Killer B keeps you accountable, challenges you and definitely gets you of out of your comfort zone. Don't hesitate to join, you will not regret it. You WILL get RESULTS!!
Previous review: Best. Gym. Around. I have always been a gym person. Name the workout and I have done it. Nothing compares to Killer B.! I have been going there for a few months and am seeing results. (I used to think I was in pretty good shape before I joined!) My cardio, strength and fitness levels have really improved in a short amount of time. The workout is non-impact, changes daily and is never boring! The trainers there are energetic, motivating and welcoming to everyone of all fitness levels. Working out at Killer B is THE best hour of my day!!

I started going in early December and have seen amazing results in the almost 2 months I've attended classes. The ability to easily measure progress has made a big difference in my motivation, as has the team spirit that I see in the people who attend. I am traveling right now and this last weekend visited a crossfit style class (EVF) I used to do regularly, and both myself and the trainers were blown away by how much better my endurance was now that I've been doing the Killer B method. I used to end those classes on the floor, recovering for up to an hour, and this weekend not only did I not even need to sit down afterwards, I was able to attend 2 classes within 16 hours of each other. Bob (the owner and head trainer) is really on to something with this method and for anyone who is looking to make a real lifestyle change, I recommend joining Killer B. You'll learn the right techniques and become a part of a community of people who support each other in living a healthy life.

I am prone to twisting my ankle and am not great at cardio, but the structure of Killer B just makes so much sense for any level of athleticism. I have been coming to killer b for over 3 years now. It was hard to adjust to the killer work outs at first but after coming to killer b fitness for a month (3 days per week) I improved my fitness level by 30%. Bob has created a numerical chart to measure your fitness level. Once you come to killer b a few times you get the hang of it. Over time you will move up on the chart. It is so satisfying to see yourself move up the fitness ladder!

The work outs are different every day so you’ll never get bored. They include both cardio and strength with a large emphasis on cardio. The machines have little to no impact on your joints so you can build endurance without tearing apart your knees.

The trainers are fantastic. They will gently correct your form if you are having trouble. I love the daily inspirational quotes because they give you something to think about while you sweat.

What has surprised me lately is the sense of team spirit that I get when doing the clean eating challenges. Many of the teams choose to have a BBQ after the challenge is over just to celebrate together- win or lose.

If you are thinking of joining a gym that will give you results while surrounding yourself with great people, look no further. Drop by Killer b and test it out for yourself. You’ll be glad you did.

This is the best workout ever! I joined 4 + years ago, after stints with other workouts/gyms that just didn't do much to motivate me or get me in shape. On top of this, I had a series of injuries that pushed me to find a better plan for my health. Since joining Killer B, I have not had a single injury. I have lost 25 pounds. I am a teacher, and this workout has changed the way I teach. Not only do I have more energy to give, but I have changed the ways I motivate my students to work tougher. I go to workouts 4 times a week. Killer B Fitness is the best 1 hour exercise class/workout period. The guided classes are varied and fast paced so you never get bored. Each class works all muscle groups and cardio to increase stamina and strength. The professional trainers help to motivate, guide and keep you working. Despite how the name makes it sound, it’s actually a low impact workout so you wont hurt yourself or hurt yourself more if you’re already hurt. If you’re just getting started with working out or restarting after a break from regular exercise, it’s perfect because you just go at your own pace, then build as you get stronger. The owner, Bob will help you. He is very focused on form and function so that you are using your body the most efficiently. You get more results in an hour at KB than you do in other “self-guided situations.”

I am not a "gym" guy, I am not into how I look at the gym or the attitudes that many in a typical gym would have.

Rest assured Killer B has NONE of this!

If you TRULY want to gain cardio, strength and stamina to get through daily life, no matter what your fitness level is, this is the gym for you!

They have a system, everybody does their own personalized workout, so your not competing against the person next to you, you follow your own workout on 5 different cardio machines, if your a swimmer like me, they even have a Vasa swim machine, plus ellipticals, bikes, versa climber, and rowers.

They have a proven system developed by a doctor that works.

I am less apprehensive now to do major hikes, bike rides and more physically demanding activities.

They have a great trial offer, give it a shot, you have NOTHING to lose.

They also have hikes and social events, so if your new to the area, they are very welcoming.

I love KB! When I joined I was completely floored at how they can keep a one hour workout fun, interesting and different every day. The trainers are fun and friendly, but the best part about KB are the results!! I'm seeing a ton of weight loss with increased strength and cardio. I've been a member for over 3 years now and it's amazing how much my life has changed for the better. When I joined, I was "just" looking to get in shape, and, as if that weren't enough, I've gotten so much more than fitness: less stress, less headaches, more clarity, more focus, more energy, and more overall confidence and happiness.

I've been a member of countless gyms and fitness groups over the years, all with results that were quite underwhelming, if not unnoticeable altogether. The unique structure of Killer B - the type of workouts, the intensity of the workouts, and the accountability of an easily measurable system - are what produces the life transformation for so many of us members. I have belonged to a fair number of gyms but Dr. Bob, the chiropractor who created KillerB Fitness, has really hit on something special.
As a person of retirement age who still wants to stay active and to maintain my ideal weight, I find that the low impact exercises give me a great cardio and mild strength workout without causing the knee and shoulder pains I used to get in other programs.
There is also a fun comraderie that develops in your regular class though I like being able to also go to the Goleta location if it’s more convenient for my schedule on a particular day.
Another big difference I’ve appreciated over other gyms has been the knowledgeable and personable trainers. They seem to be interested in getting to know each person in their classes and have helped me modify the way I do the regular exercises to accommodate a couple of injuries that restrict my range of motion.
KillerB’s is a program that seems to have something for every age and every level of fitness!

I have been a member at Killer B for a little over four years now!

After high school, it was always hard for me to get to the gym. I was so used to just going to basketball practice my whole life and getting my exercise there. I would go to the gym, get on the treadmill, get bored, and leave! It was not only really hard to get myself there, but to see any results too!

Anyway, I somehow found out about Killer B, and though my effort while there, enthusiasm about going, weight, and actual attendance tends to go up and down (just because life happens), I always know what to expect at Killer B: a tough workout, accountability, teamwork, and friendly faces!

I joined Killer B in July of 2018 after my CrossFit box closed. While Killer B is not a CrossFit affiliate the program provides the coaching, intense workouts and a competitive environment which is what I enjoyed about CrossFit. Most recently I have enjoyed the Eat Clean challenge which is a competition within the gym among teams that balances healthy eating habits with challenging yet exciting physical challenges. I would recommend Killer B to individuals who are looking for a healthier life style and a community to help them get there or for those who already enjoy the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and want to be motivated to something greater.

I've been going to Killer B Fitness for over six years. I started from square one: I was overweight and totally out of shape, it was a small victory just to make it all the way through a class. Killer B has a tailored a system that works for all fitness levels so as I've gotten more fit the classes have stayed challenging. As the saying goes, “it never gets easier, you just get stronger.” I’ve stayed at Killer B because it’s a supportive community of people all there to get a good workout and the fantastic trainers who genuinely want everyone to do their best. There is a lot of attention paid to technique so you can maximize your efficiency and prevent injury. Each class is unique enough that it doesn’t feel like the same thing every time; the focus is on cardio but with a nice complement of strength mixed in. Joining Killer B Fitness was one of the best decisions I ever made regarding both my physical as well as mental health. I found myself steadily gaining weight, my back starting hurting because of my poor posture, and life as a graduate student was taking a major toll on my mental well-being. I tried starting exercise on my own, but
I always found it difficult to motivate myself to work out really hard if I was just on my own. I always found simple cardio to be very boring as well, so I looked into fitness classes in the area. I'm so glad I chose Killer B. There, you essentially get the attention and motivation of having a personal trainer without having to pay the high price for a personal trainer.

While most of the exercises you do at Killer B are cardio-focused, they all also activate multiple muscle groups at the same time. Between the five different cardio machines and the strength-focused exercises, every Killer B workout throughout the week addresses every major muscle group in your body. Sometimes you pair up with a partner to do relays on each of the cardio machines, which makes you automatically work out harder. Coupled with the constant encouragement of the trainer, I would never have been able to push myself to work out that intensely on my own. While the workouts can get very intense, they are also designed to be safe for your back, so injuring yourself is very unlikely despite the intensity. These exercises also strengthen your back and the various muscles that support your back, so you can quickly improve your overall general body strength while simultaneously losing weight.

I cannot emphasize enough how much I recommend this gym. The trainers are all genuinely nice people who will pump you up when you're getting ready to throw in the towel. While it can be a bit cheesy sometimes, each day starts with a "quote of the day" that contains a small bit of wisdom as far as taking on the challenges of fitness (and life in general). I found it to be a very nice little touch of positivity.

If you're at all considering fitness classes like this, I highly highly recommend this gym. You really won't regret it.

I used to be fairly sedentary and had neck pain from my 25 year career as a dentist. I joined Killer B and started working out 5-6 days a week. It has changed my life. I have lost 30 pounds and am more fit than I ever been.

Killer B offers a different workout everyday. It maximizes your workout - you will work really hard, you have a goal, and they will guide you through the workout. Recently I tried another gym due to Killer B closure from the Thomas Fire. It was really nice but I found myself trying to figure out what to do, waiting for machines etc. Killer B is a fast paced workout where you have clear numbers to aim for and personal goals to meet. You can make it competitive...or not. I really only spend 5-6 hours a week working out. I used to have neck pain from my work. I now have zero neck pain partly due to the strength exercises at Killer B. I used to have high triglycerides and borderline high cholesterol. All are low normal now.

Many of my friends have seen my transformation and have joined Killer B. It is a great community of people all shapes and sizes but if they follow the program many people see great results. The Eat Clean Challenges have improved my diet and really aided the weight loss.

I highly recommend Killer B. It changed my life and can change yours too!

I tried Killer B for the first time in March 2017 because I was getting bored doing the same exact routines in yoga and barre classes. Killer B Fitness is a game changer. I’ve never had results come so quickly. I immediately noticed a change in my endurance, stamina, and strength. Killer B is an amazing concept with an amazing staff committed to a mission. That mission is health, fitness and well being.
I started at Killer B about 20 months ago. I wanted a supplement to my running and needed to add some strength training. I have been exercising for 30 years and been a regular runner for almost 20 years. I came into Killer B thinking I was fit and in shape. I was humbled! My baseline test put me at an 8! It was difficult in the beginning, but with the guidance of the trainers and support of other members I have improved greatly. I think the main thing that motivates me are the Killer B games. I thrive on the competition and challenge and look forward every month to see how I stack up against the incredible women in my age group. I am in total awe of them and continue to keep pushing myself to try and hang with them.
I know if I were going to another gym, I would go do the same ol' thing every time and not push myself to do more. If you are looking to get into the shape of your life and do it with a fantastic group of people supporting you, then Killer B is for you. Come and give it a try with a free class. I joined about 6 weeks ago and I really enjoy it. I have lost about 20 pounds so far. The bulk of it fell off during their four week weight loss challenge. I do think a lot of my weight loss was due to my diet changes but the work outs have kept me motivated and focused. I have also gained muscle for first time. What I like about Killer B's is that I am not really ever sore after a work out (tired yes but not sore). I have joined various gym's in the past but have given up on them as I had no direction and I would get sore and not want to go back. I enjoy that group aspect of the trainings. By far the best fitness program I've ever tried! I've been a client at the downtown location in Santa Barbara for 1.5 years and I LOVE it. Every class is different and so it never gets boring, and because it's trainer-led you don't have to think too much. You just have to show up, follow instructions, and work hard. The trainers encourage you to meet your potential and eventually exceed it so that you don't get stuck at the same level of fitness. Most Valuable Group Fitness in Santa Barbara! I have searched around for group fitness that is cardio and strength, challenging, motivating, has safe sequenced workouts, a variety of times and locations to attend in order to fit my schedule, and is reasonably priced. I compared many places and Killer B fitness is all this and More (and the best price to provide all these things!). This gym fits my need in a diverse way where other gyms (both more and less expensive) do not.

Owner Bob Wilcher, a chiropractor, creates every workout (which changes each day), and teaches many classes. For the classes he doesn’t teach himself, he very selectively trains athletes/trainers to teach the remaining classes. There are 2 locations in both Santa Barbara and Goleta, classes 7 days a week. Mon-Fri Classes are available from early- mid morning, lunch, late afternoon-night to fit your schedule.

A very unique features of these classes are:
1) Use of Numerical data to accurate gage and measure intensity of workout and tailor the workout to each person’s unique fitness level and Male/Female. – This allows you to determine where you are, work to goals in every workout, and see your progress.

2) The use of diverse gym equipment (CLIMB, bike, elliptical, ROW, and SWIM) to provide a low-impact high-intensity workout. The Climber is used for very effective cardio challenge for both sprint and endurance. The climber is generally not available at other gyms.

3) The classes also often involve an element of competition.

3a. Most often a team challenge near the end of the class in some sort of relay competition.

3b. Monthly in the form of Killer B Games which are different over the month and rank competitors by Gender & Age level

4 Since the classes are all created by Owner Bob Wilcher, they are sequenced from day to day to work different body parts, and both sprint, and endurance. This is a contrast to group fitness at other gyms that may be taught by multiple trainers, and is not coordinated or sequenced.

5 The gym also offers additional programs such as 30 day eat clean challenge, technique clinics, and running clinics. The Eat Clean Challenges (6 per year) can be solo or team based and produce excellent results. They include a meal plan, community encouragement, and extra fitness challenges in addition to regular class participation.

After a high risk pregnancy and bed rest, some life threatening complications and a LOOOOONG recovery, my body was left completely unfit & unhealthy. It took me 3 years to get up the nerve to do anything about it and the day I arrived at Killer B, it took me 15 minutes to get up the nerve to get out of my car and walk in. I am so glad I did. Killer B has given me my life back. I have lost 45 pounds, my resting heart rate has dropped from 83 to 62, I am so much more fit, strong and have energy to be a present & happy mother and wife. You may be an elite level athlete or an overweight couch potato, the workout at Killer B is automatically tailored to your personal fitness level with their easy to use charts. Found Killer B after several unsuccessful attempts to get in shape at other local gyms. Been a very active member of Killer B since Apr 2012. At 53, I'm in best shape of my life. I'm very active and KB keeps me that way. Bob, Kyle and Emily are very motivating and keep it both challenging and fun at your physical level. They set the standard of how other gyms should operate.

As a lifelong athlete, I found Killer B a couple years ago when I thought I was "really fit" - wow, was I surprised to find out areas where I was lacking and how much stronger I could be by training correctly!!! I am now totally addicted to Killer B, where I have learned how to push myself climbing..cycling...rowing...etc. I've also really enjoyed doing "fun stuff" like outdoor cycling races, mud runs, charity races, etc. with my special KB Family where we pull for each other and sweat with each other- no matter where we are fitness-wise. Working out now has a purpose and focus, and as a result, I feel that am the most fit I have every been in my life.

Killer B offers intense cardio workouts in a great community of people and has excellent trainers. Where they shine and have helped me immensely is that they track everything to help you hit your numbers to move up fitness levels and SEE your measurable progress. I went from below the lowest level (10) to a 6. They also do AWESOME weight loss challenges where they provide tons of encouragement and a sensible eating plan - I feel so much more fit after one year there but the best part is that I can see the proof as I hit my numbers and strive to reach the next level up.

Joining Killer B Fitness is one of the best decisions you can make for yourself. It is one of the best decisions I have made for me and my family. I'm a 38 year old, father of two young children, small business owner and until I joined Killer B, I had, over time slipped comfortably and unknowingly into a sedentary and unhealthy lifestyle. My weight was going up, my resting heart rate was high, and most importantly, my cholesterol was creeping up over time. My doctor finally told me that if I didn't make a serious commitment to living differently, I would have to start taking medication (statins) to control my cholesterol and other health issues. The commitment my doctor recommended were deceptively simple: eat better and exercise more. I tried making changes on my own and although there was a little change in the right direction, it wasn't happening consistently or fast enough. Then I joined Killer B Fitness. The carefully designed workouts were exactly the kind of exercise my doctor recommended to do and I wanted the maximum benefit for my time and effort. When I joined 3 months ago and started coming to the workouts, I couldn't even physically finish the workout for the day. So I committed myself to the program and started coming three to four times a week.

The workouts are not easy, (the emphasis is on the "WORK" part of the workout) but they are worth it. How do I know? I have been measuring the progress. My resting heart rate went from 86 bpm to an average of 67 bpm. Cholesterol has gone from overall 268 to 219. There is more energy for my family, my business, and myself. I get more done every day than before and I feel great. I've lost over 10 pounds and my clothes fit better.

For those that are considering the cost...for a professionally designed workout, on well-maintained equipment, under the supervision of knowledgeable staff; joining is a great value. When you also factor in the health benefits and the quality of life improvements....you can't afford to not do it.
