I had an extremely disappointing and discriminatory experience at Kinetics in Newport (10/11/25).

At 10:20 a.m., I spoke to the front desk staff and informed them that I have a service animal (not a pet). Moments later, the manager, Elijah, came out after she went to get him. I calmly explained that my dog performs a trained medical task and even showed them the official ADA.gov guidelines. Despite this, I was still denied entry and asked to leave.

I chose to stand my ground so that another person with a disability would not have to go through the same kind of discrimination and lack of ADA awareness.

Even after Sergio, the 610 building security officer, confirmed the correct ADA protocol and allowed me to remain, there was no apology or follow-up from Elijah or the front desk. Instead, Elijah told me not to return.

The overall tone was aggressive and dismissive, leaving me feeling uncomfortable and unsafe. ADA training and awareness should be mandatory for management and staff to ensure that no one is made to feel vulnerable simply for exercising their rights.

Rachel at the front desk was friendly and welcoming. Paid 30 dollars for a day pass and they offer a week pass for 80. Clean gym, towel service provided, clean bathrooms, and plenty of room for sled workouts along with traditional body building. I’m glad they make this open to the public. Thanks Kinetic team, even got myself a tank top to represent when I head back home👊🏼

Really nice gym with everything you need, close convenient super friendly staff. Validated parking. The classes are fun. Not crowded at all. Very clean. It's not open late but their hours work fine for me.

Used a day pass since I’m visiting from abroad. Lovely facilities, the locker and changing room is super clean with lots of amenities. Free towel use. Very super easy to get the day pass for $20. Apparently if you sign up after that money goes into your subscription so that’s good. They are not pushy at all in signing you up, which was much appreciated since I don’t live in the area.

Honestly it’s been really nice to belong here. It’s such a great price compared with other gyms. Never had an issue with parking and it’s always always clean. And i don’t feel like it’s a popularity contest or a social gym. I basically workout and leave. Nobody really talks to me and I like it.
I explored other gyms and sometimes i felt claustrophobic from not having easy access to a door that leads to the outside . So I love that there’s access to the outdoors when you’re inside the gym room. Sometimes I just need fresh air and I can just walk a few steps and open a door and I can breathe some ocean breeze. The location is really nice cause it’s across from fashion island . They’re generous on parking so I easily walk after workout to Whole Foods/ fashion island , and get what I need without having to move my car. I like it so much I got my parents to join. And they’re loving it. Very grateful I found this place

I really like the gym- it’s clean (the womens locker room lady the cleans does such a good job), there is a good selection of classes. My only criticism is the music is always so loud. I listen with noise canceling headphones and can still hear it.

This is the cleanest gym you will ever find with beautiful windows overlooking the greenery!! The people who work there are incredibly nice and helpful. They always have clean towels, fresh water, wipes etc. I've also noticed how considerate the clientele are. They don't hog equipment or spend eternity on the bench like at other gyms. Kimble will get you in shape with her spin or weight classes. She's even taught me to row!!!

I starting going to this gym a couple months ago because it is closer to my office than Life Time (where I was previously going). My experience so far has been so great! It’s never too busy, there’s studio space that you can use if there’s not a class in session, and everything from the equipment to the locker rooms is always spotless. Just did a consultation for personal training with Jaqueline and I felt she listened to me and my goals and I am excited to train with her!

The folks running the Newport branch of Kinetic are always kind, courteous, and professional. The facility is clean, well maintained, and every member is remembered and catered to within reason. Of the gyms I have been to, Kinetic Newport is by far the best - so good, in fact, that I'm hesitant to recommend it to strangers because it would become too busy too quickly.

I have been going to Kinetic for over 1 year! Kinetic Gym is very spacious and bright! Everything looks new and well kept! It is always clean and sanitized. Elijah and Brett are knowledgeable coaches - they are highly trained, have many certificates in strength, conditioning, exercise/physiology!
Classes are fun and everyone is respectful and polite.

Nice gym but closes too early on weekdays and too early on weekends.
I’ve got 5 people who want to leave Equinox in NB but they need a gym that’s opened until 10pm and 7pm on weekends.

Good corporate gym. Now allows all members access to group classes and trx/ropes area without paying extra. The hiit classes I've taken are great and staff are nice. Wish it was open 7 days a week though - correction - it is open 7 days a week but closed early on weekends.
