Went here because it was close to my house, I payed $130 a month or whatever but all the owner had us do was run laps and jump rope. If you're looking for somewhere to learn technique this is not the place.

Excellent teaching and a great community. The Kru (instructor) is both a former pro Muay Thai fighter and an experienced teacher, so he knows what works in a fight and how to help students at every level of experience. The gym as a whole is full of great people who love the sport and have made me feel very welcome as a new student.

A really wonderful place to learn true muay thai and practical combat application! The crowd here is super diverse and everyone’s really nice and committed to training and improving. Kru (the instructor) is fun and really pays attention to detail — he cares about his students and tries to keep the atmosphere relaxed. He’s also a former professional fighter from thailand with champ titles under his belt, so you can trust him to not only teach you proper technique, but also combat details that can only be earned through hundreds of bouts. This is a true boxing/fighting gym that I highly recommend! The class sizes are getting larger though, so I do recommend booking a private session early on to correct your basics if you want to advance properly.

There is not a better Muay Thai gym in SD. I have been to a handful of gyms all over the county and this place has a great vibe. The people are cool and the coaches are awesome. I would recommend this gym to everyone.

At King Tiger Muay Thai the instructor/master's name is Kru Huoungh. Kru is a great traditional master. He is a world champion very humble and very knowledgeable. Girls I know it is very intimidating nothing but the sound of the kicks on the pads is scary. But in only one or two classes you will understand why this is an amazing workout, sport and discipline. Kru lived in Japan and Thailand most of his life. I believe he started when he was very young. This is obvious and reflected in his character in his respect of martial arts and in his worldly experience of the game. At the gym everyone is kind and welcoming and everyone has a true chance to learn. Now why is Muay Thai to me is better than regular boxing. The eight points of contact makes your entire body your defense instrument and expands your reflexes to en-globe every part of your body. And also kicking is dope !! Wednesdays we focus on boxing if this is what you like the most. We do conditioning cardio abs/leg core work rounds and the lesson. We average an hour an half to two hours. And this is the only place where time really flies. Another aspect I love is you are not here only for yourself. It is not an individual sport even if it seems this way. You are here to help your partner advance you are his mirror. His pad holding body. We guide each other regardless of our experience level. I predict a great future for this school and I hope the future world champions will be few of Kru's student.

Kru Abel is awesome! I have been to a few gyms and King Tiger Muay Thai has been my favorite environment to practice. The classes are broken into a technique section, training, and then conditioning. Kru Abel is great at addressing each student during the entirety of the class and makes sure that each student has an understanding of that day's lesson before moving on. I have come to treat these classes as an actual education on top of the great workout it provides. Highly recommend!!

King Tiger Muay Thai is the best. I’m learning traditional Mauy thai that I can use if I ever need to defend myself. It is a great workout too. The teacher Kru is very nice and everyone is very welcoming. I’ve been with King Tiger Muay Thai for a year now and I love it. I recommend it 100% for a great workout or learning new self defend moves.
