Tony Becerra’s Koei-Kan Karate-Do has been a part of the Westside Community for more than 29 years and serving the Santa Barbara area more than 34 years. We specialize in Martial Arts instruction for kids. Private and semi-private classes are available as well as group training. With more than 37 years of teaching experience, Sensei Tony Becerra will help your child reach his or her untapped potential. Classes are designed to help develop self-confidence, self-esteem, leadership skills, coordination, agility and respect. My daughter was very shy and not outgoing at all. She would not participate with others. She was also very afraid of dogs. Since she’s been at Koei Kan Karate she has done a complete 180 turn around it took her some time but this has been life changing. Not only does she love it we love it too. After karate she’s nice and tired and mommy and daddy have mommy daddy time. Thanks to Sensei Becerra she loves her time here. She loves it so much she never wants to miss.

My big kids did 10 years of karate when we lived down in San Diego; so, I am no stranger to the dojo. After trials and tribulations at other locations here in SB, I finally found the perfect professional karate environment for my six year old. I love this place, it’s family friendly! My nephew and daughter are both attending and are very active. Tony Becerra is awesome! He’s got such great experience with kids and is always very nice and always has a smile on his face. Come and bring the kids! They will learn discipline and will also learn how to defend themselves!

I wish I would have enrolled our children sooner! We have two very active children that were a bit defiant and wild. One was struggling socially and one desperately needed structure and discipline! After about 4 weeks of karate 3-4 days a week noticed a REMARKABLE improvement in school and at home. We are receiving positive feedback from teachers and peers have noticed excellent behavior at home. Tony and his instructors are patient, kind, but appreciate constructive and respectful discipline. We can’t thank you enough!!
