This LA Fitness in Fremont shows a complete lack of care and professionalism, especially toward seniors or anyone who doesn’t speak English fluently. My mother came in simply wanting to sign up for a short gym membership, but the staff made no effort to translate or help her understand the terms of what she was signing. As a result, she was unknowingly signed up for two months instead of one.
When we realized the misunderstanding and asked for a refund just a few days past their short cancellation window, the staff refused to help. We spoke with multiple employees, including Genesis, Sal, and Kathy, and were all told the same thing: “She signed the agreement, there’s nothing we can do.” Not one person showed empathy or made any attempt to escalate the issue properly.
To make things worse, my mother has medical issues that make it difficult for her to access the gym safely, and yet the staff showed no concern or flexibility. They treated her situation as if it didn’t matter.
We were told a manager named Kiran might call back, but instead, they suggested calling the member service line ourselves. It was a complete waste of time and showed how little they value their customers.
This location needs serious training on how to treat people with respect and compassion. They do not care about seniors, non-English speakers, or anyone with medical needs. If you or your loved ones aren’t fluent in English, do not come here. This gym will take your money without care, understanding, or basic human decency.

Men's Sauna has mold growing, despite me mentioning it 10 months ago they have yet to resolve the issue. It has a terrible smell, both LA fitness corporate and LA fitness management seem to sweep my review under the rug. We need a new sauna, I hope they care about their customers as much as they care about making money from us. They only respond to me when I have something positive to say. I've been to other LAF locations and haven't had this problem.

I’ve been a member since the Bally’s days, and sadly, the customer service at this location has sucks . I recently tried to book a Pilates couldn’t even get access. I went in person to cancel the feature, and despite doing everything correctly, I kept getting charged.
When I brought this up, the staff showed zero accountability. The managers, Sal and Katherine, were dismissive and lacked basic empathy. Instead of helping resolve the issue, they blamed me for not being available and for not having receipts despite the fact that I cancelled in person.
There was no resolution, no effort to make things right. Just blame shifting and poor communication. I’ve never felt more disrespected as a long-time member.
This location needs serious retraining in customer service and accountability.

The gym is all right. Alot of people on their phones taking up space not working out. But the worst part about it is the locker rooms have a major problem with vandalism with property constantly being stolen. Some gyms have lockers out in the open where it's visible while you work. The problem has been consistent for several years now. Don't believe me... look at everyone in the gym, most of the have their bag next to them.

Garret at LA Fitness in Alhambra, is a treasure. He is my special needs trainer and works also with my 75 years old Dad; even though that my Dad doesn't speak any English, he really enjoys his time with Garret ( He is very professional, empathetic, cheerful and very caring)
Thank you Garret!

Ridiculous service, every business is like this. They are nice when you are signing up for a membership but as soon as you want to cancel it, they immediately become rude.
I was asked to provide my last 4 digits of my credit card number to "verify" my account when i could have simply shown her the app with my account number there. The internet reception is poor in that area and it took me several minutes to sign into one of my credit card accounts to see if that was the card i use as i have many credit cards.
Unfortunately after i was able to verify it i then realized that LA fitness billed me $59.00 for an annual fee when i haven't even been there for a year yet.
I dont think that's how anual fees work but i was told they will NOT return my money. This is robbery and will be contacting my credit card company and doing a charge back.
I will NEVER return here again.

DO NOT GET PERSONAL TRAINING! Very disappointed at Catherine, the Operations Manager and the entire Personal Training admin team. They billed me even after I requested for cancellation of my personal training subscription. I had to bug them multiple times after that to get it cancelled, and they refused to give me refund for the wrongful billing. The bureaucracy here is insane and all they care about is stealing your money. I will be cancelling my subscription and taking my business elsewhere.

I Forgot My Black Longsleeves tied up in the door upstairs where we attend the Zumba Class today, Monday, June 2nd, 2025.. I hope somebody found it and turn it in to the management, it’s my favorite. I hope they did not throw it away..

I went to get a membership on April 11th. I felt the vibe uncomfortable too crowded. The pool area was too small The environment doesn't seem friendly to me the stuff Don't seem friendly The staff and the people that worked there seemed to be too serious and uptight. The guy that helped me get my membership made me feel Uncomfortable as in making faces like I'm annoying like he disliked me when I Was asking a lot of questions due to the membership And also for his help With the membership paperwork his name is sal he seemed to be bothered with me. And I just felt like his vibe was very Unfriendly or annoyed towards me. So I canceled on April 14th Not just because of that reason the guy also told me one price and then it was another he told me at first It was just going to be $10 to join and every month was gonna be $39.99. He did not explain the first and last until I already had the contract in my hands and it was too late. And Also He did not mention before hand The Maidens fee $59.99 . But the good thing is that the front desk canceled right away and i'm waiting for my refund. And they did not charge me for cancelling. The people that work here need to work on their attitudes Need to be more friendly And more honest When it comes to Memberships And not tell you one thing and then another.

Gym equipment is good. Be careful in the locker rooms. Someone was watching me as I unlocked my locker in the mens bathroom. When I was working out, they went into my locker and stole my credit and debit cards, then they locked my locker back up like nothing happened. I recommend either protecting your lock as you use it so no one else can see it or don't leave anything valuable in your locker.

I wish I could leave a 0 star review. This gym is terrible. I would highly advise everyone to go another gym instead. I come to this gym regularly, but today I had a horrible experience and will not come back. My friend and I were both working out. At the end of our workout my friend wanted to hit an exercise that required me to time him. After we completed our exercises. The gym manager ( Hugo ) pulled me aside to tell me that personal training / coaching is not accepted at the facility.
I explained to him that my friend who just got a gym membership wanted me to workout with him for the day. Hugo said that you cannot advise someone even if you're not training or coaching them. He further explained that if they have improper form or technique I cannot help them correct it. This is ridiculous because I have had improper form and have had injuries in the past. This just goes to show everyone that they only care about money instead of actually helping people. I am not a trainer or coach, i just wanted to workout with my friend. The staff including the management team lack professionalism and character. I will not be coming back, and will tell all my friends, family , and colleges to not come to this gym.

The gym atmosphere is great and the staff are amazing. However, I encounter an issue with the personal training program. The trainers are top notch and knowledgeable, but the manager of the trainers (Hugo) lacks professionalism.
I had paid in full my six month training program, but I had training sessions left that I was completing. I received notice that I had to complete the remaining sessions left in one week without notice. I would recommend to be careful when signing in the personal training program with Hugo. He breaches his word.

My recent experience at LA Fitness reveals the pervasive misandry and gendered policing of men in American society today—a system where men’s actions are judged not by their intentions, but by the subjective emotional responses of others, with no room for context or fairness.
Here’s what happened: I gave a polite, kind compliment to a woman at the gym. My gesture was non-intrusive, respectful, and entirely within the bounds of normal human interaction. Yet, this individual found it “uncomfortable” enough to report me to the staff, who improperly labeled my words as "harassment."
What followed was an outright show of hostility and overreach by LA Fitness staff. They:
Escalated the situation unnecessarily, sending eight men to follow me into the bathroom and even recording me in the locker room—a blatant invasion of privacy and violation of decency.
Attempted to intimidate me into returning to the front desk so they could document my account as though I had committed a heinous act, all while ignoring the lack of evidence for their accusations.
This type of behavior reflects a deeply ingrained anti-male bias that dominates modern culture. Men are not judged on their actual actions or intentions but on the subjective, often exaggerated, emotional responses of others.
The Gendered Police State: Misandry Masquerading as Safety
In today’s climate, it has become socially acceptable to vilify men for expressing romantic interest, even in the most respectful and harmless ways. The underlying assumption is that:
All male attention is inherently predatory unless proven otherwise.
A man expressing interest or giving a compliment is not viewed as human connection but as a potential threat.
The word “harassment” is used indiscriminately, stripped of its actual meaning, and applied to any interaction that someone finds inconvenient or uncomfortable—regardless of intent.
At its core, this phenomenon is not about safety—it’s about power dynamics and cultural bias.
The Role of Subjectivity and Cultural Conditioning
The problem lies in how subjective feelings are weaponized against men. In this instance, my actions were polite, brief, and harmless. Yet, this individual’s personal discomfort—a subjective, emotional reaction—was treated as absolute evidence of wrongdoing.
This is the crux of the issue:
✔ Society has conditioned women to interpret male attention as inherently problematic, regardless of context or intention.
✔ Institutions like LA Fitness enforce double standards, where women’s comfort is prioritized over men’s dignity and autonomy.
✔ Men are forced to walk on eggshells, constantly afraid of being labeled as predators for merely existing in public spaces.
This cultural paranoia stifles healthy human interaction, creates unnecessary hostility, and isolates men who genuinely seek connection or basic social engagement.
Broader Implications for Society
This incident isn’t just about me—it’s a reflection of a larger epidemic within our culture:
1. Men’s Intentions Are Dismissed
No effort was made to understand my side or investigate whether my actions were inappropriate. Instead, the situation was escalated based solely on another person’s feelings. This dynamic denies men the benefit of the doubt and creates an environment of constant suspicion.
2. The Dehumanization of Male Attention
Male expressions of interest—romantic, friendly, or otherwise—are demonized, forcing men into silence and loneliness. When a simple compliment is met with hostility, how can we foster genuine connections?
3. Institutional Bias and Overreach
The behavior of LA Fitness staff exemplifies the institutionalization of anti-male prejudice. Their disproportionate response—sending multiple men to follow and record me—illustrates how societal systems punish men disproportionately, even when no harm has been done.

CHECK YELP REVIEWS! Google reviews are often outdated and even at times paid by a business. This gym has confusing and weird customer service. I’ve finally convinced my friends to join me in cancelling my membership, the immediate next time I go in and hopefully I get better service at a different location. You get told one thing from another person, then told something different from another with very little information given at times. Then when you try to fix the situation they are rude, dismissive, and disrespectful to the point of just hanging up in your face. Very off putting and oddly terrible service

I was there on June 2, 2024 and I was only a few minutes late to get out and the front door was locked. Luckily the female housekeeper was still cleaning so I asked her to open the door otherwise I would have called the police and file the report for false imprisonment. The gym Front desk person is supposed to go inside the men and women’s locker rooms and check before they leave and they lock the front door so Nobody gets locked out. This is very bad !!? Gym members shouldn’t have to go to the gym that feels like they’re gonna get locked out when they’re a few minutes late. Whoever was working the shift before closing on june 2 should be fired to avoid future problems with the law!

I recently used a three-day free pass at LA Fitness, and I must say, the organization of the gym left much to be desired. It was frustrating to see people not putting weights back on the racks after use, adding to the chaos. Moreover, it seems like most of the cable attachments have been stolen, leaving none for the members to use. Despite these issues, the staff were exceptionally nice and helpful, which was a redeeming quality. However, the gym was always crowded, making it challenging to enjoy a workout. Overall, while the staff were great, the lack of organization and overcrowding were significant drawbacks during my visit.

I don't know where even to begin with this place. First of all its insanely packed. Theres a plethora of those annoying poofy haired youngsters that ruin every gym with their recording, texting, and equipment hoarding. People leave a bag at a machine or bench and then disappear for 5 minutes (probably to use another machine). There's no accessories for any of the cable machines. Did I mention the place is PACKED? NEVER come during peak unless you wanna wait for every single excercise. Very little gym etiquette here, which is tolerable normally but not when the gym is packed like sardines. The water pressure in the showers is pretty terrible. And oh yeah getting out of the parking structure is hell during peak hours

This review is regarding the personal training manager, Hugo Estrada. I called LA fitness Fremont to inquire about personal training. The associate I spoke to on the phone said the contract is on a month to month basis, that I can work with multiple trainers and that my fitness goals would be assessed before pairing me with the right trainer.
The day before I was supposed to have my first session I was informed that I was already assigned a trainer, which I was okay with for the first session. After my training session, Hugo told me that we'd sign the contract and looked at the assessment the assigned personal trainer took of me. Hugo immediately reprimanded the trainer in front of me and send us back to the floor to do what was missing.
Afterwards, Hugo sat down with me to sign the contract. Before signing I wanted to confirm that it was for a month to month basis. Hugo immediately said that a month to month contract is absurd and the contract is for 3 months at least.
I told him that the information provided over the phone was different from what he was offering me and he said that the associate that spoke to me was not trained in the personal training department and should not have told me that.
I then asked if I can try different trainers to see who I work best with. He then said that I can try working with two different trainers and would have to decide on one by the following week.
I once again mentioned that this is not what I was told and he said that that is how it works.
He tried to push me to sign on for a 3 month contract and when he saw I was not going to budge he tore up the contract in front of me. So unprofessional. This guy should not work with the public.
I then inquired at the Monterey Park LA fitness and they were willing to offer me what I was originally promised over the phone.
I felt offended by Hugo's passive aggressive behavior and his lack of knowledge on how to deal with the public.

Love the 2 floor open space but the treadmills are constantly giving out. Free weights are always disorganized and just not enough for the people in the gym. Not enough dumbells, attachments and even clips are missing for the cable machines. For a gym that’s high capacity the owners should be able to keep up with replacing the attachments and dumbells or just keeping back up and maintain a clean facility. The showers look like they haven’t been cleaned in years. The walls are brown and yellow, it smells like they try to disguise the stench with bleach
Aside from that this place is now full of children and I mean children from ages 2yrs- 16yrs, parents obviously don’t take care of them in the lockers so they’re running around. This place no longer feels like a gym.
We’re also not allowed to use any equipment that’s in the “trainers area” or even step in the area (most of the time it’s not being used) even though I’ve gone to several LA fitness in and out of the county and this rule isn’t applied to the rest of the gyms.

One of the better LAF locations in the Los Angeles area. Pretty spacious lifting area, upstairs cardio, bball court, and several other rooms. Knocking off 1 star because I forgot a toiletry bag in the locker room and unfortunately it disappeared rather than someone dropping it off at the lost and found.

Way too crowded at all times. I go around opening or closing times and also weekends and it is still so crowded, despite being off peak hours. Hard to get on any equipment. After the LA fitness on main st shut down, the crowds just started flooding throughout this gym and the one in Monterey Park.

This gym is horrible, always pack, since the other gym on main Street CLOSED.
It's been a month, and I haven't been able to use any of the machines, always busy and /or people using them to sit down and be on their phone, taking their sweet time- if you say something to them, they feel ofended or combative. HORRIBLE GYM!

This location is kind of a ripoff. A nearby location just closed so now it's servicing twice as many people.
A lot of the cable machines don't even come with grips and I see people bringing their own.
Parking is also kind of wack, if you workout for more than an hour or so (which will often be the case since the gym is so crowded), you have to pay 2 bucks even with validation. If you did this three times a week, your adding about 24$ a month on top of your monthly membership.

Too crowded. Doesn’t matter what time you go, I went on a Tuesday at like 10 AM and I still couldn’t get a decent dumbbell workout in because of how many people were in the space and using the dumbbells. No one puts back the dumbbells either. Also, the machines are too close together making it awkward when having to wait for someone to finish using a machine. Or a random guy will just be staring all awk at me waiting for me to be done w/ a machine.
Parking situation sucks too and takes a while to get in and out.
Better off just paying more to go to Snap or Anytime Fitness. Hoping they will do something to accommodate the closing of the Main St. gym.
Staff is friendly tho.

Great gym! The La fitness off main just closed my only issue is the pro results staff acting like they own the gym specifically the green mat there is already a training area….. why he feels he needs to cone off the mat for hours is a tad bit extreme they put all medicine balls as if we cant use them….. no other staff does it no other la fitness ! now that the other gym is closed we should feel welcomed. YOU do not own the mat and the equipment its for all CUSTOMERS who pay as myself.

This is my first time at this location, as the Main St. location just closed permanently. The building design is really nice and physically spacious, but it's way too crowded. Much of your time is used waiting for the equipment you need, and it's thus a challenge to get a quality workout. With the recent Main St. location closure, members will come to the Fremont location, making it even more crowded.

The new Gym layout is horrible all workout machines are to close to each other which causes overcrowding nowadays you have to make an appointment or via sign in sheet to use the machine because its so over crowded. Fun fact to the gym has been more crowded due to the LA FITNESS on main street is closing so all those members that workout there are coming here now which causes the current members of this gym to be discouraged and displeased by this since nobody cant even get a proper pump in instead you’ll be stuck waiting a whole day in line just to even use a machine. Also a good majority of people that come here don’t even work out its mainly the high schoolers that do this instead they come and tag along with a friend or group of friends to chill here and hog the machines while one person uses it and the rest just stand alomg side them and crowd the walk way. They also got rid of some the good workout equipment to make “room” but to be honest it looks worst than it is. The ab workout machine is now located upstairs to make room for the fake turf area that burly even gets used. Honestly your best bet is going to another gym because theres no type of etiquette here

This place uses the usual scam where they make it excessively difficult to cancel a membership. Came by in person to cancel at 1:30 on a Monday. They refused to cancel my membership because the one and only person that could do it stepped out. What kind of bull is that!? Find an honest gym.

There’s is. A policy in the sauna people can’t talk up. In the sauna. And. They’d. Still. Do. I don’t care. And I don’t. Want to listen. If they have money. Or. Restaurants They should stop. And. Respect the policy. But some people don’t. Have education and respect others.
